What are you currently reading?

A Collection of 50 Essays. xD
They have some good stuff in there though, like the Declaration of Independence by Jefferson, The "Letter from Birmingham Jail" by Martin Luther King, Jr., and various other work from great literary figures from the generation before mine.

Currently reading:
Vampire Hunter D : Pilgrimage of the Sacred and the Profane, 6th book in the series by Hideyuki Kikuchi, been enjoying the books so far.

Plan on reading:
Thunderball by Ian Fleming, I'm 'bout half way through the bond books I wanted to finish them all by the end of the year so:P

Last book I read:
My Bonny Light Horseman - It was the 5th book in a series I've been reading, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. The same complications that have been occuring for about 4 books now continued in this one, so the plot didn't seem to move forward any...it just got more complicated. The 6th book is coming out soon though, so maybe it'll be better.

Currently reading:
The Killer Angels - Book about the battle of Gettysburg that I chose to read for my English class. I thought that it was going to be told from the p.o.v of a soldier in one of the two armies, but it's actually told from the p.o.v of Robert E. Lee and various other generals during the Civil War. I normally love books about History, but this one seems kind of dull so far...

Plan to read:
Twilight - the movie is coming out soon, so I feel like giving it another read. I never seem to tire of it!

I'm currently reading Shopaholic ties the knot by Sophie Kinsella. Then I'm planning to read Battle Royale which I finally got to buy.

I'm reading Innocent When You Dream, a collection of interviews with (and articles about) the singer Tom Waits over the years - what I mainly have gleaned from it is that Tom Waits is utterly mad. And brilliant. But I knew most of that already. Still fun reading regardless.

I have been reading the book '' Read It If You Dare.'' That book is very interesting. So far it is about people disappearing and explosions and things that are not what they seem. There is lots of main characters such as Arthur Porges and Catherine Gourly.

i have been reading Regeneration By susan hill but have finished it now

i will be reading Brisingr soon woooo

I'm reading Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. Ugh. :gasp: I'm about halfway through now and the more I read this series the more I hate it! The characters are extremely bland and humourless and seem to lack any kind of personality, other than Bella's petulance and Edward's... intensity. o_o He's such an overprotective boyfriend as well, and if Bella wasn't so hopelessly mesmerised by his vampire charm then she would realise that she should dump him and go for somebody a bit more FUN, like Jacob. :gasp: And there's hardly any plot to these stories either, you have to read about three quarters of the book until something remotely exciting happens, the rest of it is just Bella whining about how much she misses Edward on the days she doesn't get to see him, but he can never know otherwise it would kill him, blah blah blah... Get a grip, woman! :gasp: She was like this especially in New Moon when he left her for the vast majority of the book, all she did was mope about and be depressed and complain about the hole in her chest etc. Ugh, it was as if she had absolutely no life outside of Edward. And then she actually MADE a friend and had something to be happy about, and Edward came back and made it all complicated and rubbish again. -__- I'll probably read til the end of the series anyway, if I don't throw the book out of the window first. >_>

So, yeah. *breathes*

The Twilight Series isn't for everyone I guess :monster:

Since I went and saw the movie last week though, I decided to re-read just that, Twilight. It's actually not as good as it was the first three times I read it (xD), so I guess the magic is finally wearing off. I'm almost to the end though, so I'm going to try and finish it.

I'm also still reading a Civil War novel for English called the Killer Angels. I have a powerpoint due on it next week, yet I'm only on chapter 8. I would be done by now if it wasn't so boring. Hopefully I can finish it over the holidays though.

I am currently reading the manga vloumes of Bleach. The manga takes place after the anime and is a very good series that I would reccomend. I also get new volumes every week.

I have been reading lots of books. I am reading a new book called Mary Kate And Ashley. It happens to be about them not having a date for the fall dance. They realize its the best fall dance of the school year. Ashley wants to go with her boyfriend but he already has a date! Mary Kate has a secret admirer but the problem is, Mary Kate doesn't know him.

From what I read there thats pretty interesting.

Right now I'm reading Slap your shoes by M.E. Kerr it's about a boy who has to struggle with his brother in the pearl harbor war. I don't know how the characters solve the problem because I'm not done reading it. I plan on getting dont with it in about a week. :)

For a class, I'm reading a Ploughshares journal from either 2004 or 2006, I can't remember. From the little I've read so far, it's pretty decent. The best part about it is that there's far more poetry than prose, so it won't suck so much reading the entire thing the day before the paper on it is due.

I've been reading bits of Battle Royale by Koushun Takami when I get the chance. The writing(or is it the translation?) isn't particularly skillful, but it's such pure fun I could care less.

Then, of course, before I fall asleep I've been reading(re-re-reading, really) Story of the Eye by Georges Bataille. I...love this book. >>

I'm not currently reading anything, but I'm planning on reading some more Greek Tragedy. My Greek literature class got me really interested in it, and with all the books I had to buy for that class, we didn't get to read everything. So, I'm going to read what plays by Euripides and Sophocles are leftover.

I'd recommend the plays Medea, Electra and The Bacchae by Euripides. They're all fine works. The Bacchae is pretty unsettling though.

I'm reading Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I saw the trailer for the movie, and while it looked awesome, I always like to read the book before seeing the film. The book is pretty awesome, even if I haven't been able to read that much of it yet because of homework and whatnot.

I must say though, I'm annoyed that the movie appears to have turned Aunt Elinor into some kind of friendly Grandma >_>
