I always keep Vaan in the party followed by Ashe and Basche. I think that they of the six characters are the most well rounded party. Vaan is like the jack of all trades Ashe i use as a spellcaster and Basche is the heaiver damage dealer with the tournesol sword that took me forever to harvest the materials
