I like no facial hair often just as much as I like facial hair
it depends on the guys face. I can understand why some people might not like it, but disgusting seemed a bit extreme. All men grow facial hair, if you're dating a guy it's unlikely you'll never see him stubble in which case it might be a bit awkward to feel disgusted by it...To be honest...there really wasn't much eye candy in XIII, I thought Snow and Sazh were pretty good looking, and Hope was really cute but there was nobody who was really gorgeous. I like manly men as much as I like non-manly men, it kind of depends. For example, I think Jecht is really fine, but so it Tidus. I did a search for Kratos...ugh. Not my type of guy at all. Still, muscles do not make a man, I think Sepheroth was a very manly character, even his face looked manly. Muscles make a buff man, not nessesarily a manly man imo.

Tidus is actually one of the few male characters that i hate but still enjoy. His design looks like an adult in little clothes, i'm actually glad they redesigned him in Dissidia.

as he's doing you, he would probably scream out "this is sparta!!" and crap like that. his personality is unatractive and it doesn't go with his look. he looks cool, but he's like a dumb brute.

he sounds like that 24/7. everything that comes out of his mouth. thats why i compared him to the hulk. but hulk may nto be eyecandy, but he is an intriguing character. An alter-ego etc. similar to Dr. Jeckyle and Mr. Hyde (or however you spell it)
I would definitely say the Hulk has some attractive qualities... (And I'm NOT talking about the supposed gargantuan penis...

You do realize that Zack is pretty much the same size as Cloud, just slightly taller, right? Him and Cloud went through very severe training and workouts, and haven't you noticed that Cloud wasn't super muscular, but it was obvious he still had muscle. Some of the same size as Cloud that went through heavy training would probably be able to pick up the sword as well.
I don't mind girly guys, as I've mentioned before. Skinny/girly guys in video games aren't bad, but neither are manly guys.

They train hard and theyre proud of theyre bodies. Besides if your lara croft and your gunna be climbing fucking cliffs and shit then its gunna be more practical to wear something thats not gunna restrict you. A long dress might get caught on a ragged edge or something. And take tekken for example. all the men can have theyre shirts off. Heck most do as theyre standard uniform. Its all to add a little sexiness to a game. Its like how ugly people never really get starring roles in films. they do the same with games. Not everyone thank god shares the same views about pretty boys as you do.

I laughed at your use of "unrealistic", because oh my God! realism is so totally important when it comes to the look and feel of characters! Especially in something called Final Fantasy that has to conform to something that's at least plausible in the realms of reality! Cid Highwind is clearly unrealistic because he looks like he's approaching middle-aged and in his prime, while Cloud on the other hand is certainly one of the most realistic beauties ever, having a frame like that, yet being able to effortlessly swing an object around that must weigh as much as your average moped.

No, people generally just want male characters that at least look like men and are capable of emerging alive from a fight. Put your average "bishie" who looks like he spends three times longer getting ready to go out for the night than the fussiest of women in an epic adventure where he has to join in the fight against legions of demonic monsters, trained enemy army soldiers and maybe some Gods with other bishies and scantily-clad female characters? And emerge totally unscathed and alright, even though it looks like they would all have been easily mauled by a wounded badger? I know JRPGs and Final Fantasy are obviously not meant to be realistic, but at the same time, there is a certain level of realism that is needed before the player is just utterly put off by the total inability to suspend their disbelief at all the stupid.
I suppose you also had major grievances with FFXII's Basch then. Look at the guy. He looks middle-aged, a bit shaggy, scarred - ewwww, ugly! He would have been far better off as a 17-year old guy with an extremely flawless, unblemished face, with as much facial hair as Toy Story's Woody and the most delicate and feminine jawline ever. That would have made a far more convincing ex-military general surely. Pfft.

When I play videogames I want to look at aesthetically pleasing things. If I wanted to look at ugly things, I'd just go outside. Why do people care so much about realism in a series that involves magic? If pretty skinny boys bother you because they are "unrealistic" , they use magic to enable them to lift big swords , put their hair in place, heal small wouds and enchance their beauty. Happy now?

I think it's due to the fact there hasn't been a badass male lead since Squall. Zidane? Not really. Tidus? Starts off wimpy but learns to grow a set over time. Vaan? Get out. 
So yeah, and with XIII, XIII-2 aswell as LR being female leads maybe people want a badass male lead back too? Instead of having Uncle Snow or the badassery that is Hope Estheim..
But we have Versus for that, only problem is.. well, it's stuck in the Realm of Darkness.

Auron in my opinion is "one" of the leads honestly. Yea yea Tidus and Yuna, but honestly I was more interested in Auron due to towards the end he was actually not a hardass as most people thought. When he was exposed for being what he was and his story was retold, it was pretty damn sad.
