Comparing it to DQ8 and modern FF titles, it will come up short graphically (unless you prefer SNES graphics). But the story is awesome, possibly the best in the FF series' history. To many people, this is their favorite for a myriad of reasons (Kefka being a big one).

In terms of over-all villainy, damage done to the world, terror caused and all of that - I consider them even. If not Kuja ahead by a small fraction. But if you want to talk about who's cooler, and a better fighter, it's Sephiroth in my opinion.

I have an attitude of cautious optimism, as with all Final Fantasies.
I have faith in Square, and I haven't disliked a single FF except for X-2. Sure, some are better than others, but they always put out a solid game that re-invents the series and stands well on its own.
Haha, ok, I take it back. I think the term I was looking for is "angsty". Cloud was very angsty, so was Squall. But neither game is emo.
If FF7 were emo, Sephiroth would be wearing Converse high-tops, Buddy Holly glasses, and a plaid shoulder-bag.
I hope I'm not the only one who's really looking forward to the Boss fights! Call me crazy but I have always considered myself a connoiseur of a good boss battle. The really good ones that test the hell out of your characters, and force you to think up new strategies and keep you on the edge...
