I just managed to hack a cheat device code that lets you customize any equipment ability with just a single potion for each ability.
I have versions of the code for both PAL and American releases, although I can't guarantee the American one works properly (it should do, though). I also can't...
Auto-Phoenix is godly, as long as you aren't fighting anything that can hit everyone at once (or at the very least, you can tell when they're going to hit everyone at once). For example, it's a lifesaver against Earth Eater (who never hits all 3 people in one turn, occasionally he'll hit two but...
Dream Zanarkand causing it is out of the question. You don't see fiends suddenly start aging after they touch Valefor, and DZ is no different - it's just one HUGE freaking aeon.
Strategy? For Ultima Buster?
Sinspawn Ammes requires more strategy. Ultima Buster is simply a matter of power.
The others, though, yes, they are great.
It can be done without No Encounters, as long as you're extra careful. Although I didn't go all the way to 200, in my Auron-Only challenge I dodged 100 bolts on my first visit to the Thunder Plains, in order to get the Strength Spheres and HP Spheres.
Oh. That isn't between tournaments/leagues, that's just in total. You could fight 450 before you even play a Blitzball game, and you'll be able to get Aurochs Reels. (That is, of course, once you get Attack Reels and Status Reels.)
Um. Who told you you have to fight any amount of battles?
A new league opens as soon as you finish the old one. A new tournament opens after accessing the main Blitzball menu 5 times, whether this is by finishing a Blitzball game or by exiting and reentering the menu. (If you don't start the...
You'll notice that 2 birds come for you, then 2 for the trainer, repeat. When they're coming for you, try to hide behind the trainer if you can, so that she'll get hit without you having to swerve too far out of your way.
Bribe Chimera Brain, as the above poster said. It's the only way to get them in unlimited amounts for now.
If you've unlocked Nemesis in the monster arena, you can also mug him for them (don't use Steal, as he counterattacks this with Ultima). But I doubt that.
For those of you having trouble...
They can only kill one person at a time. As long as you keep reviving, you won't lose. This is a very commonly overlooked weakness many enemies have in FFX.
As I mentioned before: You don't need to be powerful to beat Dark Valefor, you just need Break HP Limit + Auto-Potion for a character with at least 5000 HP.
Optional bosses for extra challenge, nothing more.
They just chose to put Valefor, Shiva and Bahamut in very inconvenient locations... (blocking Besaid, Macalania and Sun Crest respectively)
Because you don't have the Celestial Mirror. (If you do... that's just freaking weird and I have no clue. I do remember it being a bit hard to get close enough to to open it, but not that much.)
Haha, it happens. For the most part, I could've got by with just Auto-Haste and Auto-Phoenix for NSGNSND Monster Arena, but nope, I had to go the whole way on all of them. :P
Anyway, that's one of the reasons he's so good for drop farming. As long as you don't kill him 5 times without...
That, too, is a huge issue, except for Auron (where low HP is actually an advantage - although with high enough Strength, he can easily hit for 99999 even at full HP against everything except armoured fiends under Protect, which will only ever happen if you cast Protect on one).
I actually...
