<Afterlife><RP>

It wasn’t until a little while after that she had gotten started that she noticed a few of the shadows she was fighting were being killed for her. While she was thankful, she was a little dumbfounded by the help. Alyss was already tired from even the few that she had killed. Her frame was far too light and she far too tiny to be doing things such as slaying demons with a baseball bat. Her arms ached and she felt as if her arms were liable to fall off any minute. She hadn’t even killed very many of them and she had already gone and made herself rather tired.

So although she was very surprised that Clarissa of all people was killing demons for her, she couldn’t help but be a little thankful… even though the help was coming from someone that had just pointed a gun at her just minutes before. “I’ll give you a portion of my food if I win.” She said. This only confused her more. The whole reason she pointed her gut at her in the first place was because she wanted the crate of food. Now she was saying she would share with her. I-I do not understand… Before she could say anything, Clarissa spoke again. “You’ll also have my word of not killing you.”

Once again, Clarissa fired her gun to kill another shadow spawn. Alyss flinched at the noise. “But you will have to promise not to kill me in return hun.” It took a while before Alyss could answer. She was breathing rather heavily from swinging that bat around. It was obvious to anyone that could see her now that she had never worked a day in her life. “Why are you helping me? You killed that man earlier with no issues at all. You even pointed your gun at me just a few minutes ago. Yet now you help me… I do not understand… at all. What is to stop you from killing me as soon as I have my back turned?”

Alyss suddenly felt something grab at the back of her leg. Instantly she screamed out, turned around, and hit another shadow spawn on the head; killing it. These were only lower level demons… and she was struggling. Surely Clarissa would want to rid herself of her quickly. She didn’t know why she wanted to help her, but Alyss couldn’t exactly refuse. She needed at least nine more points if she was going to avoid being nothing or death. She wouldn’t mind staying in this place forever if that meant she wasn’t powerless.

She hated having to ask for help… she really did. It simply wasn’t in her nature to do so. Yet, she was in a situation where she was completely outmatched by everyone. They were strong where she was weak. Alyss hated admitting that to herself. She still hated them, still viewed them all as something lesser than her, but if she could barely handle lesser demons, then she had a problem. Still breathing somewhat heavily she looked at Clarissa pleadingly. “C-can you please help me get nine more points… please?”

It killed her to beg… but it was a small price to pay to avoid becoming nothing or being sent to Hell.

<Kiresta>

kiresta continued to walk. Her Food drop hadn't came yet, and she didn't get another letter. The bastard must be alive.

Because of this Kiresta was planning. She could not kill him, and scavenge for other things. She managed to grab the sheet on the way out A Hole and been ripped in it as it layed in the hallway, and It had got caught on her foot.

she Ripped of a Strip and Tied it frimly around the cut, It would stop the bleeding and protect it from Infection.

Kiresta sighed as she wandered around aimlessly. the map showed she was still in the hospital district. Realising that she was going back towards the hospital. She stopped.

She could Return, To check on him. But her point's hadn't increased so it would be in his best interest's to be sneaky.

Walking faster she came upon the hospital parking lot. looking around she found is diserted. Walking right a bit she took a road that led to Bradbury park, Eye's ablaze with fire.

She was going to hunt him down and kill him. No matter the cost.

Sarah Wisely

Sarah didn't know what to make of Marin's smile as she leaned forward to look at her ability. “That could work.” What would? Marin holds up her phone as she glances at her own screen, leaving Sarah growing anxious. Marin seemed to be deep in thought as she looked at her phone's screen. For a brief moment, Sarah contemplated sprinting away in case of trouble. Then Marin lowered her phone and looked at Sarah in the eyes.

“Sarah. I don’t want to die here, and I know that you don’t either... but I think that if we stick together, we can pull through it.”

Then she smiled. That smile again. She reached out to take Sarah's hands in her own.

“I trust you, and I hope you trust me too. I’ll do what I can to protect you and to take us as far in the game as we can go together, if you’ll do the same.”

Sarah was hopeful for an alliance such as this but she hadn't considered what she may be thinking at the point of the alliance. Here, the proposal for an alliance would no doubt be beneficial to both Marin and herself, but she realized she had no solid reasons to fully trust Marin. The game allows for only one survivor. That alone is a strong enough basis for betrayal.

So could Marin really be trusted?

“My ability gives me fire. I think it’ll be enough to fight off... whatever demons are out there, as long as you have my back. Then once they’re gone, we’ll have rights to the food. I think we can make a good team.

That was it. Sarah had no reason to turn down the alliance any longer. Either way, she would die... Unless she did something. However, the time is not now. Her heart was racing as she considered this turn of events. Marin's powers could easily best Sarah's any day. In fact, with her own powers, it was very likely that she could survive even without Sarah's shield.

"I-I... Yeah. Okay. B-but your ability. You don't need me.. Can I really trust you?"

What a stupid question. Sarah was tempted to slap herself right there and then for saying that. Couldn't she just kept mum about that? Just letting her buy her apparent trust was good enough. To think she had to go on and question Marin's trustworthiness.

As she says that, she notices a person appear from round the corner. Startled to see another person come in, she instinctively backed away, pulling Marin with her.

Sarah seemed to be on board with her; hesitation still lingered in her eyes and she couldn’t blame her for that. Marin didn’t have or could do anything to prove to Sarah that she was worthy of her trust, the only thing being that actions spoke louder than words.

“You’ll just have to try.” Was all that she could say, squeezing Sarah’s hand for a moment before a noise from behind them caught her attention.

Following Sarah’s gaze, Marin turned to face whatever danger was behind her... demon, arch angel.. player? The large man was stumbling forward, his footing clumsy, he seemed injured. He was probably a part of the scuffle from earlier that they tried to avoid. Alas, he found them anyway.

Marin could feel Sarah tugging on her hand as she instinctively began to pull away. She stepped in front of Sarah, her feet planted firmly, her arms now coming to spread out protectively; shielding Sarah. If Sarah wanted proof, then here it was.

“You! Who are you? What do you want?” A silly question but they wanted to get as many answers as they could. They already had a two man alliance; they didn’t need anything else holding them back. Granted, he already seemed hurt; he could be easy points. Would she have the gall to kill him though?

Marin wasn’t going to leave them openly vulnerable like this; she needed to show any other players that they were just as much a force to be reckoned with as anyone else. The thought of this, her determination, caused her right hand to spark up and engulf in a small flame. She glanced at it, her powers awakening and focused to try and maintain the fire. There. Now I’ll show anyone that they can’t mess with us.

Ryu Matsuri

“You! Who are you? What do you want?”

Ryu saw the two girls before his vision started to blur.

"Shoot." Ryu muttered as he fell to his knees. The phone rang as speaker picked it up.

Jenna: Ryu, you are hurt. You have to get away now homie!

Ryu groaned as he shook his head.

"No Jenna. I won't make it. Not without specialized attention." Ryu replied as he pulled out the phone.

Jenna: What? But we're going to win this competition!

Ryu struggled to get back to his feet, the broomstick clattered to the side as he slowly made his way to the girls.

"It no longer matters to me. I can feel my life ebbing away. At least it was nice to meet you Jenna while I still had the chance." Ryu muttered as he made it to the girls.

"You two. So young and so much going for you in the real life. I know I will die. So take my points for yourselves. Ten for you and eleven for you." Ryu muttered as his points were tallied to Marin and Sarah respectively.

Jenna: Any last words you want me to send among the living players.

Ryu nodded as his feet no longer can support him as he leaned to the wall.

"Everyone who is reading this message. You have one less player to worry about. But it was in my decision that I gave my points to two people. Heed what I say. Each one of you are fighting to regain life, but is it truly worth it in the end? Is it worth staining your souls black and risking permanent damnation just to live out the remaining 50 or more years? Do not seek to follow the system, but seek to challenge it and change it so others will have the possibility of living without fearing the competition. (OOC: It will be signed as Officer Ryu Matsuri, fiancee/husbacd to Hanako Satou.)" Ryu muttered as his vision started to darken and his form started to glow/fade.

Jenna: I sent the message.

Ryu smiled as he looked over at the two girls.

"I am Officer Ryu Matsuri. I will still live on as a part of your life if you choose for your revival and as your points. Tell me your names so I can at least fade away with honor." Ryu muttered as he took the names of the two girls to heart, whatever their names were.

After the girls were to give their names, Ryu sighed one more time.

"Hanako, I'm sorry for dying this early. I wanted to be your husband, but it is impossible for me now. At the very least, I wish you happiness and I will watch over you even if you can't see me. If God is merciful, at least let Hanako and my family remember me." Ryu muttered as his last breath was taken.

If the girls were to watch his face before he faded away, the would see a small smile on the face of Ryu Matsuri as if he finally completed the act that his life led him.

Sarah Wisely

“You’ll just have to try.”

Maybe that was the best way to go. Sarah feared loneliness more than death so the idea of betrayal, even for her, would never be easy. Looking at the girl who stood in front of her, protecting her, she felt that Marin deserved at least a small amount of trust. The remainder of it could come along later when she can be much more certain of Marin.

“You! Who are you? What do you want?”

Moving to stand beside Marin, Sarah looked at the man, ready to use her shield. The worst thing about this ability was that the shield was invisible. She would never know if it were working at all. Perhaps the only way to find out would be after she really gets hurt.

The man that approached them had been hurt by something else prior to their encounter. Considering the alliance that she and Marin had forged, Sarah was thinking of reigning him in as a third member, just to be on the safer side. However, things weren't looking up for the man.

"Shoot."

Just then, an unfamiliar female voice spoke through the man's phone. Sarah looked between the phone and the man, realizing through their exchange that the man was dying. He dropped the stick in his hand as he struggled to approach the girls.

"It no longer matters to me. I can feel my life ebbing away. At least it was nice to meet you Jenna while I still had the chance. You two. So young and so much going for you in the real life. I know I will die. So take my points for yourselves. Ten for you and eleven for you."

Sarah was appalled. To think they would earn these points so easily! "Any last words you want me to send among the living players," went that unfamiliar female voice. The man nods as he struggles to get on his feet.

Do not seek to follow the system, but seek to challenge it and change it so others will have the possibility of living without fearing the competition."

As he said that, he began to stagger. "I sent the message," said the female voice. Just as she said that, Sarah's phone vibrated. She didn't need to check to know what the message entailed. Looking at the man, Sarah began to feel somewhat sorry. At the same time, she also felt a strong determination to live - somewhat contrary to his message. The man smiled as he gazed at the two.

"I am Officer Ryu Matsuri. I will still live on as a part of your life if you choose for your revival and as your points. Tell me your names so I can at least fade away with honor."

Honor. What sort of age did this person live in?

"I'm Sarah."

"Hanako, I'm sorry for dying this early. I wanted to be your husband, but it is impossible for me now. At the very least, I wish you happiness and I will watch over you even if you can't see me. If God is merciful, at least let Hanako and my family remember me."

Sarah continued staring, unsure about what she should do. He was actually smiling as he faded. Should she have felt sad? She did. Somewhat. Looking at the fading form of the man named Ryu, she realized, she might really have died.

Marin didn’t need an ounce of her power as the man before them began to fade away before their eyes. He was struggling to live for as long as the game would allow him, his will going beyond the normal realms of a human being to keep him lucid now.

He spoke briefly, accepting his death with regretful dignity. His Angel, a peppy encouraging voice, was eager to keep him going. Don’t give up, w can still win this! You could hear it in the tone. Ryu had other plans though; he opted to bow out gracefully... he offered to... give them his points?

Marin’s brief flame extinguished in her hand, her arms dropping to her sides now as her phone chirped with the newly received message. Neither she nor Sarah checked it, bearing witness to the event as it unfolded before them. Part of her wanted to go to him, to briefly console him as death took him within its grasp. However as much as she wanted to do the right thing, there was still a nagging paranoia in the back of her mind; that should either of them approach him as he died, he still could have one last trick up his sleeve and take one of them with him.

And so the two girls stood back, slack jawed in awe and horror as the game claimed its second victim. Second? Others could have died before him and they could have never known. As he asked for their names, she glanced to Sarah briefly before answering back.

“My name’s Marin.”

The man then lamented on his family; his words dripping with regret as he slumped on the floor. Marin felt a slight pain in her chest; what was it, grief, sadness? Sorrow for a person she didn’t and now would never know? Maybe she should have felt sad for everyone that died in the game. And maybe later she would fully come to terms with that. But for now, there was nothing left for him to do now but die, and there was nothing the two girls could do but watch.

Hanako Satou didn't know why but she had a feeling she wore the ring for some reason. She just couldn't remember where or what her reason was. Either way people always commented on it's sparkle and shine, some going as far to guess that she were married or engaged. She enjoyed her life so far, all this time being a single woman had made her strong. Meeting a handsome baker in the city had made her happy to go to work in the day. She probably would end up dating him, but she wasn't too sure of her present feelings. What she did know was that the ring she wore made her feel safe.

Gabriel

Sir! Sir! A player has died sir! He gave away his points sir!

"He died huh?" said Gabriel who still held the second sack of food.

The man looked at the large tower which stood out in the middle of the city. it must have been the work of the Almighty. He liked as much violence and betrayal as possible, it's what thrived heavily in the games. Sir! Would you like me to retrieve the phone sir?

"No Nanicci, his angel is already dead. There would be no point." Gabriel commanded.

"Like hey!" rang out a voice in the distance. A redheaded girl running up to him. "Like, you have food right?"

"Yes." Gabriel spoke dropping the last sack at her feet.

He was getting bored of waiting, and he knew what the Almighty would do if he should get bored. Selfless sacrifice was not what made the games exciting. The reaper had to amp things up. As the Luci contestant grabbed the bag of food and ran off Gabriel glided along the deserted sreets of Citadel to meet Lafiel.

Clarissa Montague

“C-can you please help me get nine more points… please?”

Clarissa smiled. She could get the girl points easy. "Of course I can." she spoke in a soothing tone. "This game is all about tactics. And for now while all of the players are confused, that's when you have to decide whether to take charge or to become a victim."

Clarissa had tired of killing shadow spawns. She needed that food drop if she were to continue to be a strong player. "But for now let's get some food shall we? Nourishment is what we need if we're to survive." Clarissa spoke waiting for her share of food with her pistol in hand.

~post to be continued later~

<Kiresta>

Kiresta's phone rung. Opening it she saw she had a message!

"Tee-hee Master! You have a message? do you want me to read it?" Maru asked. Kiresta nodded with a smile.

"Oh,Dear...It seems mister Ryu Matsuri has been killed..." Maru said, after reading through the message. "..what?" Kiresta asked the angel.
"i said he has died...and gave it points too two other people..Some girls" Kiresta sighed. "I expected as much...Thank you...Maru"

Closing the phone, she looked up and give a slight prayer to Ryu's Family. "you put up a good fight, Ryu Matsuri" Kiresta said as she walked away.

A few street's later, She turned into Bradbury park, and leaned against the tree.

"What to do..What to do.." she said as she checked her wound. the bleeding had stopped and it began scabbing over.

Cracking her knuckles and Stretching, Kiresta realised she need some points, Fast. Two people had died and two other's we're probably in the 30's. But she didn't want to hunt down anybody..

She straightend up and began walking. Looking at her map she was just at the entrance of the park.

Sarah Wisely

For a moment, the two were quiet as they watched the end of a stranger's life. At the very least, this stranger appeared to be a nice person. Still, it doesn't change the fact that someone died before them. Sarah glanced at Marin, wondering what was going through her head. Now that the two more than 30 points, they were now in the lead. What she did know was that trust had just become more valuable an asset between the two.

Sarah had just calmed down and now she felt the anxiety return. What will happen to her if the trust is betrayed? She knew she cannot fade away just like Ryu. Survival is a definite must and more so for her being the only child of her family.

She couldn't help but wonder how her parents were feeling at this point in time. However, for now, they had to move on.

"H-hey, Marin. We should get moving."

Lafiel Gremory-Laffinty

Late Comer

From her seat, Lafiel could see over the treetops and the South Gate of Bradbury Park. Anyone that walked off the West Bridge would be within her sight. That meant she spotted Ms Kiresta pretty much the instant the girl had walked in. Judging by the fact that she walked in from the West Bridge and appears to be somewhat scraped up, it meant that she most likely did not fare too well from her fight and probably did not have her own food pouch. It was her responsibility to inform her of the challenge at the park. Dropping from her perch, Lafiel made her way through the small path amongst the shrubbery before emerging from the green on the other side in front of Kiresta

Evening, Mistress Kiresta. How do you do? My name is Lafiel Gremory-Laffinty, the Reaper in charge of this food drop. i was delayed, so i was unable to meet you at the station. I apologise for my tardiness.

Lafiel gave the girl her customary curtsey and her trademark smile.

To ensure fairness and smooth running, how about i inform you on the workings of my challenge for the food drop? I have released two demon pups that have, in their possession, a silver medallion each. Retrieve them and bring it back to me to redeem a food sack. I shall be perched at a rather high point in the park, so once you have the token, you will also have to locate me. It should not be difficult. As obstacles, i have also spawned numerous amounts of shadow spawns around the park. They should not pose too much of a threat, though still be alert. Also, two contestants are already engaged in the event so do be on the look out for them. That should cover most of it. Is there anything else you require to know?

Standing at attention, Lafiel waited to see if Kiresta had any further question she may ask.

Kiresta walked into the park, Head down as she thought about her Family. a slight rustle and breathing caused her to look up.

"Evening, Mistress Kiresta. How do you do? My name is Lafiel Gremory-Laffinty, the Reaper in charge of this food drop. i was delayed, so i was unable to meet you at the station. I apologise for my tardiness."

Kiresta started. A Reaper? "..Hello.." She responded quietly/ Lafiel smiled endearingly and gave a curtsey. kiresta had half a mind to curtsey back.

"To ensure fairness and smooth running, how about i inform you on the workings of my challenge for the food drop? I have released two demon pups that have, in their possession, a silver medallion each. Retrieve them and bring it back to me to redeem a food sack. I shall be perched at a rather high point in the park, so once you have the token, you will also have to locate me. It should not be difficult. Also, two contestants are already engaged in the event so do be on the look out for them. That should cover most of it. Is there anything else you require to know?"

so, this Lafiel person, Was in charge of the food drop. and would be willing to give kiresta a sack of food, should she Find the two medallions. Simple enough. Yet there was the challenge of finding Lafiel after retriveing the medallions from the pups. Lafiel said it would be easy, But Kiresta wasn't so sure.

She also had to deal with "Shadow spawn" Whatever they we're. Kiresta's hand tightened around the Rock sack.

and she had to deal with the other players. Tough guy was dead, But there we're still quite a few still alive. And Kiresta didn't want to go ape-shit on anyone else after Ryu.

"So...That's it? No other stuff besides getting the Medallions to you? and we need both of them, right?" Kiresta Asked, Better safe then sorry.

Alyss was somehow comforted by the fact that she had an ally. Even though it was an ally that had proven that she could kill with no problems. It was the same thing that made her afraid of her that made her a good ally to have. Alyss still wasn’t sure she could kill anyone. She had no power, no strength, and from the looks of it, her intelligence wouldn’t do much here when everyone else had a useful ability and all Alyss had was… She paused for a second. Everyone else had an ability. What was hers?

She quickly pulled out her phone again. From the looks of it, she could go invisible. Her face lit up just a bit. Perhaps she wouldn’t be so useless after all? The dogs couldn’t run away if they couldn’t see her coming. In theory, she could simply walk up to one of the dogs and snatch the medallion away from them. Better yet, she could even kill one with the bat. Surely they couldn’t live through a hard swing of a bat?

“I… have an idea,” Alyss said somewhat sheepishly. “According to this thing, I can turn invisible. I can get the medallion that way.” To demonstrate, she whispered to her phone. “Cora, can you make me invisible?” This time there was no pause at all. “Sure, but don’t take too much time. I’m already annoyed by the lack of blood on your part… and the power only lasts a minute.” Alyss nodded her head in response and looked at her hand. After a few seconds, she could no longer see herself.

“I will be back with that medallion shortly.” She instantly took off running past Shadow Spawns. They couldn’t see her, but they could hear her. She was going to have to be more careful with the dogs. They would probably take off running if they heard anything. She neared one of them. It was alone and the other wasn’t in sight at all. Quickly, she tiptoed through the grass in an attempt to get close to it. She counted in her head the seconds that she was invisible. Twenty five, twenty six, twenty seven…

She was very close to the dog now. It simply stood there, but his head was moving around. It was as if it knew she was there. With every step she took closer to it, it moved more. As she got close enough to do so, she picked up her bat. Fifty one, fifty two, fifty three… She swung it directly at its jaw. There was a loud crack as she actually managed to break it. The dog let out a horrid scream much unlike any normal dog and dropped the medallion. Almost instantly, Alyss’ time ran out. The dog couldn’t pick up the medallion with a broken jaw… but it could attack her with its claws.

Alyss dived for the medallion, grabbed it, and started running back towards Clarissa with the dog right on her tail. “H-HELP!”

Lafiel Gremory-Laffinty

Late Comer II

"So...That's it? No other stuff besides getting the Medallions to you? and we need both of them, right?"

No. Only one is needed for one bag of food....

Pausing for a sec and looking up in thought, Lafiel continued as she thought of something

Well, i guess if you manage to retrieve two, that would mean that you would get both sacks. That is basically it. If one is skillful and planned ahead, it is possible to even go through the entire challenge without even raising a fist...

A familiar howl rang throughout the park. One that Lafiel knew was quite unhuman. It was the sound of one of the demon pups. Between Clarissa's gun and this, it was more likely that the second medallion was being coveted as of right now.

Hm.... that howl came from one of the medallion carrying demon pups and given the armaments of one one the contestants, i would say Mistress Kiresta's window of opportunity is closing rather face. It would be in your best interest to act now. I will, sadly, have to depart to get to my final post. I wish you the best of luck, Mistree Kiresta.

Lafiel half bowed, before turning on the spot and walked back towards the fountain through the forest. It was probably a good idea to get back onto the tall fountain before any of the contestant arrive. After all, they will have to climb up this tall structure and the footholds are small and slippery. It would provide a nice challenge when mixed with a certain little twist.

Nanicci, I am back on the saddle of the Unicorn...

You mean the fountain at the park?

Yes. I fail to see which other unicorn i may be talking about.

I don't know ma'am... you could have been playing around or being juvenile?

Her(?) cheek was duly noted, but Lafiel chuckled it off.

Very humerous Nanicci. Be on standby and get ready for my call. I expect the first contestant to be coming soon.

Yes Lady Lafiel. All ready on my side.

Marin watched as the man faded, her sadness for him waning which left her with a rather numb feeling. If this could happen to anyone, then they needed to hurry and get more points so that it wouldn’t happen to them.

Sarah’s voice brought her back to reality, nodding along, Marin tore herself from the scene. “Yeah… I guess we should.”

Marin wondered who would remember her in her death. Her parents seemed rather stoic to her existence ever since her emancipation and she had no siblings or best friends to speak of. No lasting love who would maybe be crippled emotionally by her abse- oh.

Did everyone else have someone to go home to? Was she the only lonely soul? Maybe she was better off dying and fading into the mist. She shrugged off the thought, her own selfish desire to live pushing her forward.

She moved onward, finally leaving the safety of the hospital and walking outside, Sarah wasn’t too far off behind her. Stopping short of the exit, she glanced around. No sign of the earlier demon with the food drop? No sign of.. anything really, it seemed rather deserted out there. Had people moved on? Was the food already claimed? A faint shadow in the distance caught her eye… a demon imp? “I wonder what we’re meant to do now…” Her earlier resolve now wavered by the previous events.

(ooc: I missed the part where The other Medal was stolen. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU)

<Kiresta>

Kiresta nodded at his words. An Quickly left. Yet she couldn't find the dog anywhere. No noises of Growling. and no Hellspawn.

Well shit.

that only meant one thing. They had been taken. Squeezing her fist, Kiresta let out a Stream of curses. She lost the food. though, to be honest, Kiresta didn't Expect much. but hunger was taking it's toll on her and she needed Water. Setting off around the park, she looked for someone.

She didn't know what she would do if she found the Medal holder, She didn't really want to fight. yet...she didn't want an alliance. after the "Kill Ryu" Episode. she didn't want to have to kill someone again. She knew she would have no choice. but not so soon.

Kiresta walked throughout the park, Before seeing a shadow. She didn't know who it was, and didn't Feel like she wanted to get particularily close. so she stood back and kept her distance.

Maybe she could arrange an alliance? She didn't know. but theese people We're intruiging...

(OOC: That shadow can be anyone. Kiresta thinks it looks Human, but it could be a Demon ECT if none of you want to engage in a Discussion with Kiresta. I can't Exactly say First come first serve. but i wouldn't mind people saying hi!

...As long as they don't attack, That is. XDDD

Sarah Wisely

Such irony; Sarah would never have expected that she would be heartened by a depressive comment. Like Sarah, it seems Marin had no idea what next to do and as far as Sarah was concerned, just finding a way to survive would be more than enough. Of course, this meant getting to the food as well, but... Well...

Sarah sighed. She was helpless, but somehow, knowing someone was here with her, feeling the same made her feel better. What was that - schadenfreude? She was still afraid of the girl and of her circumstances but somewhere in her heart, she could see that she desires to trust her.

"We-well," she stammered. "Maybe we should still check out the food drop anyway?"

The possibility of meeting someone who's hostile remains, but it's just as likely anywhere else as it is there. Better to take their chances and die trying than to stay put; not that Sarah wanted to die.

Alyss’ heart felt as if it were about to burst. Never before in her life had she run so far so quickly. Clarissa was nowhere to be seen and though she kept an eye out for the reaper; she saw no one. Instead she just kept running with the demon on her tail. From behind her it snarled and barked in the most demonic way possible. The noises sounded as if they were ripped straight from a horror film. A few times she could hear it snap at her hair as she ran. If there was one time in her life she could tie her hair back, it was now.

A few times as she ran she wanted to turn around and take another swing at the demon with her bat. However, she knew that if she failed and missed, or failed and didn’t hit it hard enough, she would die. In her mind she could hear Cora berate her constantly as she ran. You’re running?! Kill it! Are you out of your damn mind?! I want to see some blood! Turn around and fight that damn thing! Alyss didn’t once think of listening to her. Who was she kidding? Alyss barely managed to get the medallion at all! Now she wanted her to fight it one on one?

Anyone with eyes could see that she didn’t stand a chance against it. After a while her legs were starting to give out. She could tell that the demon was gaining on her now. Where was Clarissa? She was supposed to have her back and now she was nowhere to be seen. Was this a part of her plan? To get Alyss killed without having to waste the bullet? After a while just when things seemed far too bleak, she noticed someone. Another person from the train!

She had brown hair that Alyss instantly recognized from the train. There was no way of knowing if the girl would kill her or not, but it was better to die quickly by a human than to be eaten slowly by the demon that was right behind her. Without stopping she ran directly for her and shoved the medallion in her pocket. Hopefully, the girl wouldn’t have seen it and think the demon was chasing her just to get a meal. Alyss would have shouted something, but she could hardly manage to breathe, much less shout.

<Kiresta>

Kiresta looked at the shadow, It looked female and it looked as though it was running. walking closer her boots grazing the grass and her breaths silent and shaky. Her hair blew in the slight wind when she noticed the creature following her. Small in stature and doglike in pose. Kiresta mellowed it out to being one of the "demons" she had seen. though it was much smaller.

Picking up her pace she heard the young girls("It was a girl after all." she mused) screams. she intended to help the little girl out, she did want an alliance again. Screw her misinterpritation of the last one. ("I thought it meant she would die!" she had ground out to herself upon closer examination of that letter)

Hurrying forward she noticed the girl coming close to her. her feet slamming the ground and the dog-thing close on her heels. she raised out her hand to help the girl but she ran just past her and ran on. Well damnit!

The dog thing however had stopped and looked at Kiresta, before looking back at the girl. then charging at Kiresta.

"You little...-" Kiresta growled as she realized that Girls stratagey. useful indeed, but not pleasant.

Kiresta raised the Rock sack and swung it hard down, bringing the dog to the ground with a dented skull. it was dead. Looking at it more closer showed it had a broken jaw.

"did the kid break it? or did I?" She whispered aloud.

Kiresta shrugged and started off after that girl.

Curiosity killed the Cat, but Satisfaction always brings it back.

After she noticed the demon was no longer chasing her, she couldn’t help but collapse on the ground. She felt like she had been running for ages. Her legs were hurt and sore from all of it. One last time she checked to see if the medallion was in her pocket. It was… and that’s where it was going to stay. Alyss figured the girl would probably ask about it, and in all honestly, Alyss wasn’t sure if she should lie about it and go back to find Clarissa, say nothing about it and keep the food for herself, or tell this person about it and reward them for saving her.

Alyss sat up on her legs. She hadn’t noticed the bat was still in her hands. After a second of staring at it, she placed it on the ground next to her. In all actuality, she was too tired to swing it. Her breathing was hard as the girl made her way over to her. Alyss attempted to say something, but was breathing far too heavily to manage to get anything out. She tried to stand but her legs were still too sore. Whoever this woman was had the upper hand; something Alyss was not happy about at all. Without saying a word she waited for the girl to speak. At least she could probably talk without having to pause for a breath every two seconds.
