Balamb Garden

Hebi pointed his hands towards everyone on the ground below him and closed his eyes, a faint green glow covered the party and then faded.

"HEY! I HOPE THAT'LL DO. USE IT WISELY, IT WAS MY ONLY CURAGA!"

Hebi looked into the center of town and the pillar of ice he summoned was untouched and still letting off an eerie fog. He looked around the rooftops to see if he could come up with anything.

" WE NEED TO SPLIT UP, FIND SURVIVORS AND GET OUT OF HERE! EVAN, YOU AND ARTH HEAD EAST, DON'T STOP SEARCHING UNTIL YOU HIT THE EDGE OF FH. AMELIA, CAN YOU AND ENIGMA KEEP GOING NORTH ON THE TRACKS AND SEE IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT WHY THE TRAIN STOPPED? AL, I'LL SEARCH WEST AND YOU SEARCH SOUTH. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ANYONE, THAT YOU CAN'T HANDLE, CAST FIRA IN THE SKY, IT'LL ACT AS A BEACON FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS. LET'S DO THIS AND GET OUT OF HERE."

Hebi jumped from the roof and put his hand out waiting for the others to do the same.

Amelia just blinked at Hebi.
"Orders...?" Amelia said. Amelia turned around and looked at Enigma. Then she looked in front of herself, the way to the train entrance.
Amelia started foward, eager to find out what was at the tracks. She walked through rubble, and rocks, carefully treading over any unknown substances. She saw a light in one of the train window, signaling to her that it is closer. As the light grew larger, the train became more visible.
Amelia halted to a stop, about 10 feet away from the train. She grabbed her waistbelt from her free hand, and searched through a little sewn-in pocket. She rummaged through it, until she found an unusual looking compass.
It had a gold covering, with writings around the outside. She opened it with a click, and raised it up high in the air. It glowed green, a signal for north.
She closed her compass and put it back into her sewn-in pocket, and proceeded north beside the train. It took only a few minutes, although it seemed like hours.
Amelia was unaware Enigma was following her, Amelia just ignored her.

The curaga spell revitalized Al somewhat.
Not completly, but a lot.

"AL, I'LL SEARCH WEST AND YOU SEARCH SOUTH. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ANYONE, THAT YOU CAN'T HANDLE, CAST FIRA IN THE SKY, IT'LL ACT AS A BEACON FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS. LET'S DO THIS AND GET OUT OF HERE.""

"Sure thing" Al replied.
He could not cast fira, but he could make a simmialr effect, so no details where needed.
Al started walking towards the south, running was not smart, since it would narrow the search time.

Enigma tracked closely behind Amelia, he kept expecting something to jump out and attack them, but so far they had remained safe.

"Will she slow down or what?!"

Enigma couldn't keep up with the pace of Amelia's strides, thus leading to a sudden burst in speed from the young SeeD.

"Argh! What the hell?"

For some unknown reason, Enigma could go no further down the track. Conveniently he was stuck at the very place the train had halted.
Seemingly there was some kind of invisible barrier preventing anything from moving past...

"It's gotta be some kind of magic. Who would do this?"

Enigma looked over his shoulder towards Amelia, just looking for some kind of reaction in her face.

"GYAHHHH!"

Hebi face planted and then got back up to begin heading west. He called back to amelia, "not orders!, requests!". Hebi broke out into a run because he knew he had to hurry. He ran for what seemed like 45 minutes, when he smashed into a kind of invisible barrier. He paused for a minute and thought. There was something dd about the barrier. Hebi summoned his halberd and struck the barrier. Nothing happened. Hebi charged his halberd with the same force he uses to cast earth magic and struck again. The head of his halberd broke off and landed behind him, but he found out what he needed. When he struk the barrier, a ripple of blue glowing hexagons came into focus and then disappeared again. Hebi figured it wasn't magic because ultemecia had just returned and couldn't be at her highest level yet, and for a sorceress to create a barrier would mean that she would have to be in the vicinity. This was technology. Hebi followed the ripple of the blue glowing hexagons with his eyes only to find out that it created a dome over the entire town.

"Whatever made this barrier is still here."

He picked up the head to his halbers and it dissapated into pale green flames. He began to walk back slowly toards the center of town looking at the power lines and tracing them with his eyes.

"Come to think of it, I've never seen the power source for FH."

Al was walking south, and wondered if he was ever gonna meet someone.
They must have been evacuated.

*Gzonk* Al crashed in a wall. Though, no wall was to be seen.

He put his hand to it. It was clearly 'feelable' though, out of sight.
He took a few steps backwards, and picked up a rock.
He threw the rock, with the firces he coulc.
Which was far from max, since his healing was not complete.

The rock bounced off, whit a *Gzonk* type sound. some light blue glowing hexagons came to sight, nad faced away.

"Hmm, and this is?" He asked himself.
He drew his sword, and tried to stab it, but to no effect.
He looked around, he didnt see any living thing. And this 'wall' stopped him from going any further.

He walked away from the wall, sheathed his sword, and focused.
His right hand glowed, and he sent a light ball (simmilar to the fireball) into the wall.

The glowing hexagonsglowed stronger, nad as a ripple in the water, they where sent all around, fading as tehy went further.
Even if they faded not too far off, they gave the impresssion of a dome, of sorts.
"Well, this sucks" Al stated to himself, and he started walking back to where Hebi said what to do. He had to tell the others this. No doubt some knew about it already.

Evan was running and looking around the city in the direction he was ordered, he had been running for some time when he ran into an Invisible barrier with a large 'thud' his face bounced off of the invisible barrier and knocked him to the ground. he stood up rubbing his nose "that hurt" he announced to anyone who was listening and when he turned around to go back in the direction of the train station he was faced with a Zombie he reached into his bag and pulled out a grenade with a smile on his face "you wanna go up against me?" the Zombie took a step towards Evan "that was stupid" he announced

Evan hit the Button and threw the grenade at the Zombie it blew up at the Zombie's Feet throwing it back and onto it's back, it groaned and Evan walked towards it with his hand in his bag and a smile on his face, "time to die...again" he removed a Hi-potion from his bag and stood on the zombies chest. as the zombie continued it's groaning Evan poured the Hi-potion down the Zombies throat the Zombie groaned some more while until he had finished glowing green then he was dead...again. Evan began walking back into the town looking for survivors

As Arthvader followed Evan in search of survivors, Several zombies appeared before them. Lucky for him, his phoenix is with him.

Arthvader "Phoenix, go and take care of them."

The phoenix's body started to emanate light from its body. the light was so bright, that the zombies started to disintegrate. Eventually, the zombies disappeared, allowing Arthvader and Evan to continue on. Eventually, he saw an building.

Arthvader "Hey, why don't we check over there? There might be survivors."

Evan saw the large building, he looked at Arth as he asked the question "Hey, why don't we check over there? There might be survivors." Evan looked at him with a smile on his face "sounds like a good plan to me" Evan replied walking through the large double doors that had the letters 'Libr..y' above it Evan looked at Arth as he walked through it "lets go have a look in the library."

Amelia walked along, until she halted to another stop. She sensed a barrier, an invisible barrier.
"Hmph," Amelia said, "This could prove interesting..."
Amelia rummaged her free hand into another sewn-in pocket in her waistbelt, and took out a pen. It wasn't any other ordinary pen, it had a knife on another side.
The small knife was sharp, and it gleamed a reflection from flames far away. It was a silver knife, forged with ruby.
Amelia pointed the knife-sided part of the pen towards herself. It took a few moments until she bumped into a barrier.
"Found it!" Amelia said, as she stopped.
She raised her pen and stabbed it on the invisible barrier, and it gleamed blood red. Suddenly, it dissapeared, as she has disabled it, but not for long.
She continued north, siding along the train. She first looked back at Enigma, who was still following Amelia, trying to keep up pace with her.
Amelia looked back towards where she was going, and walked on.

Arthvader "Ok"

As Arthvader and Evan entered library, Arthvader took a look around the seemingly abandoned place. All of a sudden, he heard voices coming from the checkout table. By the time he arrived at the table, he saw several survivors.

Arthvader "Evan, come here. I found some survivors."

He then turned his attention to the surrvivors.

Arthvader "Hello. nice to meet you. We're SeeD, and we're here to help you. Now if you would follow us, we'll bring you to a safe area."

Hebi kept following the power lines and went around a corner, he saw Al walking slowly and motioned for Al to follow him.

"have you seen anything suspicious?"

Hebi saw a building in the distance where the powerlines stopped and headed towards it.

" If i'm right then this barrier is a security mechanism of some sort. I remember helping to design one similar to this but some of it's aspects ar Galbadian."

Hebi thought about what he said, and said no more. he didn't want anyone asking questions about what he does. Afterall this is probably everyones first time seeing him on a SeeD mission.

Enigma's frustration was growing by the second; nothing was ever simple. There were odd hexagon shapes appearing from time to time, meaning the rest of the group had also stumbled across the contraption.

"Well, Amelia, it doesn't look like we're going anywhere just yet."

He kicked the dust on the ground, he hated the fact that they were momentarily trapped.

"Hang on a second...We got into Fishermans Horizon without a problem. Now we're trapped. That means whoever sprung this trap must be nearby. They must be watching us!"

His face displayed obvious concern, and he needed to see Amelia share that feeling. Not in a malicious way just to reassure him and convince him that he wasn't crazy.

"Amelia, what do you think? Do you think we're being watched?"

Evan followed Arth over to the counter were the survivors were and as Arth spoke to the survivors Evan looked around the entrance hall, He reached over his shoulder and grabbed the handle of his Keyblade "Arth hurry it up we aren't alone" he took a few steps away from te counter when a young boy said "Don't go down there that were the bad men went"
Evan: "what bad men?"
Boy: "the ones who attacked us"
Evan: "Arth get them out of here" he un-sheathed the Keyblade "i have a feeling this was galbadia"
Evan walked through the Doors into the Sci-fi books he was walking carefully past a bookshelf when he saw a Draw point concealed behind some 'barry fotter' books he used it and Drew 5 protect spells, he immediately cast on on himself and continued walking.

10 yards later he heard a gunshot and then his protect spell was hit by a bullet, he smiled and ran towards the origin of the bullet, and with one slash of his Keyblade a galbadian soldier was slashed in half spraying blood on the floor and Evan's shoes "dammit, these are new" he thought to himself, he removed the Galbadian's Side arm and holster, attached the holster to his leg and placed the Side-arm in it. He picked the Keyblade back up and walked back to the Main reception area.
"Arthvader i could only find one soldier back there"

Amelia heard what Enigma had said, and she replied, "Maybe," and looked around. Everything was deserted except ruins and rubble, so Amelia wasn't sure if there were people watching over her and Enigma.
"Could this be the work of Galbadia...?" Amelia whispered, but loud enough for Enigma to hear.

Evan looked at the survivors "can you all walk?" he shouted over most of them nodded but there was a young boy with a broken leg who couldn't "Dammit, those galbadian scum!" Evan muttered looking at the floor one of the doors flew off its hinges with an explosion and a soldier came running through with a Kitchen knife in his hand he was running for Evan who drew the pistol he took and shot the soldier in the chest 3 times killing him. putting the gun away he looked at Arthvader "thats two I've killed" he announced smiling he then walked over to the boy "come on then" he lifted the boy onto his back ad carried him towards the door "everyone we have a train currently in the station, follow us to safety". Evan pushed the entrance to the library open and looked into the street for any fiends, The sky turned black and the pendant on Evan's necklace began to glow "Odin come forth" he shouted, After which Odin landed on the floor wielding two swords
Odin: "You summoned Evan"
Evan: "me and Arth need an escort to the train station"
Odin: "then lets go"
Evan: "Arth you better get gilgamesh down here as well, we could do with the extra battle strength"
Boy: "are you a summoner MR?"
Evan: "yes we both are"
Boy: "wow you are both amazing"

Arthvader "Gilgamesh, come on out."

Arthvader released Gilgamesh from his pendant. upon being summoned, Gilgamesh drew out his Excalibur from his hilt.

Gilgamesh "What is it you want this time, Arthvader?"

Arthvader " I need your help. you see, I need you to assist me and evan by escorting these survivors over to the train station. you think you're up to it?"

Gilgamesh "Am I up to it? Do you really need to ask me that? I don't think so. Let's go on. ok."

Arthvader "Ok, let's do it then."

Evan, Diablo, Arth, Gilgamesh and the survivors began their walk towards the train station when a leopard jumped out in front of them, Diablo grabbed it by the head and ripped it off
Diablo: "hehe, to easy"
Evan: "D, there are children here try to control yourself"
Diablo: "sorry evan"

Enigma had not even considered the possibility of Galbadia being the cause for their entrapment.

"Bastards! Why didn't I think of that?"

The movement of Evan in the distance caught Enigma's eye. Seemingly, he was with a few survivors and of course, Diablo. Damon and Al had gone off in a different direction, hopefully they would be back sooner rather than later. He believed they had enough information and/or theories to figure a way out of the 'dome'.

Enigma cupped his hands around his mouth: "Evan, buddy! You find anything?" Evan wasn't too far away so Enigma needn't scream at him.

"Amelia, in case I haven't said it before, you've been a huge help....Thanks."

As small of a gesture as this seemed, it was a big step for Enigma. Emotionally, he was very subdued and didn't often open up to people; he didn't expect Amelia to know this.

The more he thought, the more it made sense for the Galbadians to be involved. They have sentries placed throughout the world. Fisherman's Horizon wasn't the most inconspicuous place they could be.

But what was that note all about? The Galbadians couldn't be working with the sorceress....could they?

Hebi stood outside the building where the powerlines met. his hand began to smoke and he launched Fira into the air to signal the others. Whatever was creating this barrier needed a large amount of energy to do so. Hebi entered the building and summoned his fan since his Halberd had been destroyed by the barrier. This wasn't at all like a Balamb facility. The architecture along with the color scematics were galbadian. Not doubt FH signed a contract for new technology with Galbadia. After figuring this Hebi continued down the corridor with confidence.

"Systems check. Name, purpose and model number."

There was a slight pause and then it spoke.

" Hello my name is Alex, I am a security and power control Program, serial number 007169."

" Alex, define your security protocols."

"The detainment and/or eradication of all threats to FH."

Hebi continued down the corridor and came to a large door that read Sector 8 - 007169.

" Alex, tell me, why did you not eradicate the fiends who have taken over FH?"

The system paused.

"There has been an Energy malfunction with all my external weaponry."

" Is it fixable?"

" Yes, all it requires is the maintenence of the main console and new program input."

Hebi opened the door and saw a large red eye staring back at him.

"Hello Alex."

"Hello Hebi."

Hebi paused for a moment, he never told the computer his name or why he was there.

" Alex, is the tele-comm. up and working?"

"Yes."

"Alright, put me on a live audio feed to every public output in FH."

The loudspeakers throughout FH rang loudly. Hebi paused before he delivered his message.

" Attention fellow SeeD members, this is Hebi, please report to the south district and come to the power supply building. Echo November - Golf Uniform Alpha Romeo Delta Echo. I Repeat, south district power supply center."
