I certainly agree with you. Terra is the main character of the game, only in my eyes and perceived off of how they make it appear, Celes is the second because of her importance, the need of her and you can't not have her and you get to play her in the second half of the game.

I remember when I first played the game. I was confused because I thought Locke was the main, and then Terra came and I was like "oh" so I guess Locke is the second main? And then Celes came and then took over the second half and the need of getting everyone together, and then I was like "Okay, both girls. That's cool and has never been done before".

But eh, the chances of this being Locke are so high, its gonna prove me wrong. I'm really gonna not like another Thief in the game. Its gonna take from the two thieves in the game already -- Luneth because of his job switching status and kid from FF9.....

I'm really hoping for Beatrix at least, if they're going to put in one new hero and one new villain per game, then I would have thought Beatrix would have been the most logical choice for FFIX. Since they already have Kuja, the other villains in the game are a bit...

Necron - I'm not sure how they'd put him in the game, at all :| It could be done, but, it would be like putting Sin in the game. Not very practical.

Garland - After Beatrix, I'd say Garland would be the second most logical villain to represent FFIX, but, they already have FFI's Garland, so I'm not sure how they could make FFIX's Garland unique and special enough?

Brahne - I can't see her fitting in well with the fast paced Dissidia world :wacky:

And, since Kuja is already in, that really only leaves Beatrix.
 
If Tifa just got in to be honest I can really see Yuna getting in. I would really want to see Yuna vs Tifa :ohoho: Too bad Aerith would not really fit in though :hmmm: I am still waiting for Rydia to get in also :sad3: Of course I also would like garnet and beatrix.
 
Oh, look at that. Doesn't seem that Terra has a physical weapon, but her magical prowess is as awesome as ever ^^

And seems Lightning was wielding 2 blades as she does when she summons Odin, so I wonder if summoning got integrated to some level :hmmm:

...Or probably just what it looks like when she's using one of her regular attacks :lew:

Yea, her magic is da bomb...but I've spent my obsession long life years wishing to be able to see Terra in awesome graphics wielding a sword and her power base of magic. My obsession has taken a 20hp hit. :x3:
 
Lightning lost cool points :hmmm:

If most of her attacks are going to involve Odin's swords, that's going to be quite a blow on me using her much :hmmm:

Plus, just me or did she seem a bit on the slow side for a character from a game based on speed? She falls about as fast as Kefka in midair and is barely any faster than Cloud with attacks :sad3:

Lightning was in her attack mode there (which you can change to magic or healing using L+R, according to the commands on the screen), so maybe that's why she had two swords? Maybe she sticks to just one in her other forms.

and I think her slowness was mainly down to the player... who wasn't that good and was only using one move. I'm sure she has other quicker attacks.
 
She seemed kinda weak in that video. Though I doubt she is weak. I mean for sure at higher levels she will turn out to be a very agressive opponent. I want to see Lightning vs Tifa now :hmmm:
 
Maybe she's slow because she's super-strong? That's usually the standard, right? Slower, but stronger?
 
I'm not sure. It's hard to tell from that image who it is.

It could be Celes, and the face certainly matches her, but the costume (what we see of it) doesn't really look like Celes' costume. It looks as if it resembles either armour or something a little bit more heavy than Celes' Amano artwork costume.

It may also be Faris, though I'm not convinced of that either. It's hard to really see the costume behind that annoying blue water / energy / whatever beam which passes over her arm. The clothes depicted may resemble her pirate costume in Amano's artwork, but you can't really see it clear enough.

It may well be Celes though, with the blue earrings to contrast with Terra's red, though I can't recall Celes having blue earrings herself.

It could be that they are putting Celes as Terra's alternate 2nd costume, which tbh I wouldnt be keen on as it would feel too much like a quick fix for those that want to actually see the character ingame.

Plus, it looks exactly like Terra. Now, I'm all for Celes because it would be cool to have at least one female from FF6 with a sword, or maybe they will take it away from her as well, but that image is Terra unless they made Celes look like Terra's twin, or vice-versa.

I'm quite sure that could possibly be Celes, as she is shown in the pose of her original Armano artwork, with her head hung in despairity, the "mask" she is wearing could be a representation of the Opera she participated in.
 
Actually, I think that's just Cosmos in CGI :hmmm:

It does, but Terra doesn't have big blue earrings, so to me having Terra with blue earrings doesn't make sense. It could perhaps be an alternate costume choice, but I didn't think that they'd do cgi renders of alternate costumes, unless of course Celes does appear as an alternate costume for Terra.
 
I dunno, I'm pretty optimistic about it being Celes, considering that was a screenshot from the closed trailer at TGS. It's since been removed from youtube by SE. :wacky: They wouldn't really focus on old stuff in the closed Trailer, they were more about showing the new people.. Light, Kain and Tifa were all seen.

Also, what looks to be shirtless Tidus. :ryan:

After inspecting what i can make out from the image and from the fact of dissidia 1 (magic having such a distinct advantage over melee types) im going to go out on a wing here and say its Definatley Celes, my reasons why:

She looks to be wearing armor and a cape, not a dress like Terra or Cosmos wears.

She is in her Armano original artwork pose

Her hair is not in a ponytail

There is need for an anti-magic meleer due to how dominant magic was in dissidia 1, runic being the perfect trump card

There has been a huge ask for her to be included, many fans want to see her in over Locke

There is need for a powerful melee character that is female, Light seems to be aimed as the Hybrid, Tifa seems like she is going to be more in the Jecht combo style fighting

Im also going to say the following characters will be included based on her side affiliation:

If Chaos: Shadow or Locke will be her opponent on the Cosmos side
If Cosmos: Emperor Gehstahl will be her opponent on the Chaos side

Perhaps. If she is to be wearing armour and a cape then it'll probably be her sprite look rather than her Amano look, as her Amano look had her in much lighter clothing.

For ideas of who she could be sided against... What about General Leo? Not really a villain, but still, not all of the Team Chaos are.
