Oh! Another WTF moment was the end of the first disc to FF8. When I played it the first time, I honestly thought Squall died!

And the end of the intro to FFX, where Auron extends his hand and there's that... vortex above him. It looks questionable. :P

Haha, that startled me at first too. Especially that 'heart' tattoo on her chest. I dunno, I think she kinda had class, though, with the whole Syndicate and everything. The part where the Syndicate
steals a sphere from the airship and leaves a movie sphere behind
was pretty sweet, and I just liked their music and all that. :P

Greatest "WTF?!" Moment

Sorry about thread title; I was going to write "the game designers are on drugs!" but that's really not much of an improvement.

You know what I mean, though. There are certain moments in FF games which annoy some players because they're so silly/bizarre/unexpected, and yet they're often beloved by many fans.

The first example that springs to mind for me is Cloud having to cross-dress to get into Don Corneo's mansion, and especially that "I don't BELIEVE what I just saw!*" moment in the Honey Bee Inn with the hot tub.


*Bonus points if you recognize the quote, though that may be unrealistic since I think most of this board is UK?

The biggest WTF moment for me was the intro to FFX-2... o_O. Wasnt expecting that.

I remember one from FFVII, when I saw Ruby weapon just sticking out of the sand. So, I went up it, thinking it'd be alright, then the bugger jumped out at me. I was like - WTF :gasp:
 
i was going against the undead boss for the first time in the cave of gi in FFVII, he had killed one of my characters and i had accidentally used a phoenix down on the boss and it killed it. i was like WTF I COULDV'E DONE THAT AND SAVED A LOT OF TIME? $%^$%#$%^ lots more cursing but you get it.
 
Same thing with that weird thing in the Lifa Tree in FFIX. It's like...instantly down within one use of a Phoenix Down or Life spell. Shame I didn't realise that first time round..
 
Throughout FFVII: Cait Sith.

FFX: The first time I saw Anima's overdrive, fucking awesome, but I was watching it like " :| What...............the...............fuck?!?"
 
Kuja's rather revealing thong-like garment which showed a good deal of his pubic region was a WTF moment every time he was on screen, however he was pretty cool, if a little poofy. Also Garland seemed to suffer from some sort of elongated feet disorder.
 
The biggest wtf moment for me was when Cloud cross-dresses in FF7. He had to be the ugliest girl I've ever seen :gasp:

I was lmao at the time though. It was very unexpected xD
 
In Crisis Core, the first time i fought Ifrit i lost cos i was laughing so much at the fact that he was jumping around in a thong after i was just like WTF just happened here
And again in CC whenever Zack does his squats mainly because my mind can always take it the wrong way and come on the noise he makes does not help in the least
 
- Yunalesca changing into her third form and killing everyone with Mega Death...WTF?? God...that fight was hard and tedious as hell...I like her tho!

- Finding a Level 99 Red Chocobo in XII which casts all sorts of powerful magic.

- Yuffie stealing all your materia in VII.

- Being beaten by the random TEIOH on the chocobo races in VII because since he has a black chocobo he is not affected by the water or space gravity that slows you down.
 
- Whatever became of my gal in FFX-2... What a horrible change, from mature-thinking Summoner to childish Jpop-star!

- Tidus' whiney voice, making him sound like some spoilt brat throughout FFX... And not forgetting his gayish behavior also! :D
