ok, thought this would be amusing. basically post the heaviest band that your into. this can either mean heavy as in metal, or the most 'gangsta; rapper your into.

i'll start, the heaviest band i like is Lamb of God

Probably Pantera, although I don't listen to them often, was more my ex's thing. I guess Id have to be in a bad mood or something to wanna listen to it :monster:

I'd say Black Sabbath are probably the most heaviest band that I can listen to. I don't think they're great personally (although their influence on music has been). The last song of theirs I heard was Iron Man from the trailer Iron Man >_<

Most likely the Japanese band Boris, their album Pink has some pretty heavy moments, and a lot of guitar drone. Either them or Rage Against the Machine anyway.

ironman is an awesome song. forgot to say feel free to reply to someone elses band. but if you do you have to put the second heaviest band

now i've made a reply i suppose i'd better put a new band.

the second heaviest band i like is Machine head

Sabbath are just a cheap Led Zep rip-off.

Anyway I leiks Dir En Gray, RATM, metallica and the Sex Pistols

Probably Metallica for me, though I'm not a HUGE fan of 'em. Honestly, I consider them a tad overrated. Iron Maiden's bettah.

I'm not into the really heavy stuff for the most part.

Hrmm heaviest band I like... Well, I guess Dir en Grey and Dimmu Borgir.

My boyfriend would laugh at my response. :/ He considers very heavy metal to be Death or Black metal.

Lesse...heaviest bands...that would be CthoniC, Dimmu Borgir and Opeth. Then I guess a step down from those would be Dir en grey, D'espairsRay, Nevermore and Testament.

It depends which you'd consider heavier. Iron Maiden, Gallows or Enter Shikari? Probably Gallows actually.
Lately I have been getting a slightly 'heavier' music taste.

i'd say maiden were outta those. Gallows are hard core punk and not really thst heavy, kust kinda scream alot.

oh and enter shikari made me laugh. they're probably about as heavy as blink-182. no offence or ought

The gallows are heavier then Iron maiden, who really aren't that heavy.
Run to the hills vs Orchestra of the wolves.
I'd say the Gallows are heavier.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Gallows tend to just rip the shit out of their instruments while Frank screams his head off. Iron Maiden at least put some rhythm and tempo behind their playing.

And on the other end of the scale, there's Crystal Castles. Which are a sort of techno/electronica kind of band.

i suppose, i just meant more metal. im not really sure gallows can be counted as much 'heavy' as they can 'untalented'. theres a difference between heavy and just turning your amp up and just screaming stuff.

i don't mind gallows but theyre in no way talented, they just some how manage to pull off sucking yet still sounding kinda good

Imo, Iron Maiden is reeeeaaally not that heavy.

I'd say the heaviest I like is...Dir en grey?

all though im not a huge fan of the gallows, i definately don't think they aren't talented..
I don't even know how to pick for this topic because i dont quite understand it.. like does heavy mean the darkest, or heaviest guitar chugging, noisiest instrumentals, Most screams.. Elaborate what exactly do you mean

Heaviest I like is AC/DC, their guitars are phenomenal.

don't really know how to describe it. Closest to death metal i suppose

Between the Buried and Me is probably the heaviest band I listen to. I see a lot of eurodeath and stuff. None of that is really that hardcore. Dimmu Borgir is straight up satanistic haha. Not of a big fan of them. I like eurodeath, but I don't like symphonic death metal too much.

Iron Maiden is old school metal. New age metal is more hardcore then the old stuff. They brought the fundamentals and the new bands expand on it basically.

Oh and Enter Shikari sucks really, really hard.

Picture the difference between Green Day and Disturbed. Green Day is pop rock, Disturbed is some sort of metal I guess. The heavier something is, the more aggressive it is, the heavier the riffs, etc. Growling and screaming aren't necessarily required, but they typically go hand in hand. I guess it is kind of hard to explain, so I'll illustrate.

Green Day - Holiday

Disturbed - Avarice

Get the idea now? Hmm...think I forgot to mention Disturbed in my last post too, I lurvs me sum of their music.
