Hey there folks, here comes a new series that I hope you'll all enjoy! Final Fantasy 6 has been known to be one of the best in the series and I'm going to try and showcase just why that is ;).

For those who don't know about this game (for shame!) it's an old-school JRPG, complete with turn based random encounters and a huge party roster! They all have an in-depth story too (except for one or two near the end). It's pretty unique in the sense that the main protagonist can't be 100% picked out. Is it the first party member you meet? Or someone who gains more of the limelight later on? That's for you to decide! I should probably give a shout out to the soundtrack too!

Final Fantasy 6 (or 3 as it was once known) is available for a variety of platforms: SNES, PS1, GBA and (the version I'll be playing) for Gamecube; the Gamecube version is just the GBA version played on the Nintendo Gamecube Player however. It's also available on the Wii's Virtual Console and the PS3's PSN Store, so there are plenty of ways to grab a copy for a cheap price :).

My reason for choosing the GBA version over the PS1 version? Loading times. It's instantaneous on the GBA version, while the PS1 version must have taken roughly 5 seconds each time you wanted to open the main menu...ain't nobody got time for that!

Anyways, here's a link to a quick wiki if you want to find out a little bit more about the game:

http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VI

And here's the opening that's shown before the main menu:

http://youtu.be/VNWbvgvsutM

I hope you all enjoy what's coming! :)

Of course, FF6 was not made by me at all. Look towards Square for all that. As this will be the GBA version, it was distributed via Nintendo :).

Episode 1 - The Best Opening Song

http://youtu.be/vRpl3QvJuqA

Welcome all to our brand new let's play! Episode 1 has plenty going on, from the opening song (so amazing!) to the introduction of our main(?) character and our first steps into Narshe. Also, Narshe Mines are pretty fun, but that esper will take a bit more effort to find :D.

Also, keep a look out for two cameo characters. I'm sure you'll notice them :).

Thanks for watching folks! We'll be finding out more about the mysterious girl next episode...we'll also take on our first boss 0_0. Byes!

Episode 2 - Terra, Meet Locke!

http://youtu.be/5h3_WyrJi9Y

Hey all! Things change pretty drastically in this episode! In the last episode, we were hunting an esper...in this episode, we're being hunted and have to go on the run! Ok, so as you may have guessed already, we find out weird esper in the Narshe Mines, but not before we take on:

---------------------------------------------------------

Ymir Strategy:

- Use Micro Missile with the mystery girl
- Heal with Biggs and Wedge, if anyone's health gets too low
- Use anything other than thunder beam when you attack
- Do not attack if the snail has receded into its shell !important!

---------------------------------------------------------

Yep, our first boss! He's not too bad though really.

Turns out that the mystery girl wasn't doing anything of her own accord though...it's time for us to leg it through the mines and escape Narshe! It also turns out that there's a huge problem with this strategy though...

See you next time when we see if Locke and the moogles can help us! :)

Lol ! How come whenever I go back to play a Final Fantasy you do as well ? And it's the SAME Final Fantasy as well ? You spying on me mate ? :watching:

Lol anyways count me in to watch these ! I love your Lets Plays !
:woo:

Edit- I can't stand the Advance versions translation some of the more kookyness of the original has been removed and the sound has been changed as well; but I respect your decision. Judging by the FF8 Lets Play experience we were a .....bit head and tails if you get what i mean, opposites ! :ryan:

Your Questions

The SNES version has no run button and everything is pretty much censored example Pub is changed to Bar. It's more Glitch-y example the infamous Psycho Cyan Glitch where if Cyan is turned into a Imp and then brought back with a Phoenix Down, Cyan goes insane and attacks everything and anything in sight. To only walk till you can buy the super- running relic is very annoying.

I used to pronounced it as Locke- Y but then everybody saying his name on YouTube calls him Lock so started to call him that as well. Also John Locke from Lost was pronounced as " Lock " So it convinced me that Lock-y is wrong. THOUGH judging Square Enix and how they pronounced names like " Zid- dawn " ? wtf ? It could be Lock- Y or even Loki.

They wanted Tina or Terra over here to be blonde but since like 99 per cent of characters in FF 6 are blonde and Celes is blonde they didn't want people to be confused, so they made it green. So blonde is the official shade; hence why she's blonde in artworks and Dissidia. Though Green is best.

The reason why Locke hides his face during the PlayStation opening movie that was made for the PS1 port was because they thought that Locke upgraded looked too much like Cloud Strife. So Locke is a mix of Zidane and Cloud ! How about that ! And the whole Rachel thing and stealing thing it's not too surprising that they used some " Lockeness " for Cloud and Zid.

I think it's 16 Bit and PlayStation One was 32 Bits. Could be wrong here.

Also Questions for you ( You don't have too ! )

Who is your favorite Final Fantasy VI character ?

Who is your least favorite character ?

Are you going to save Shadow or let him die ?

Best Song ?

What do you think of the Opera scene ?

Kefka, Sephiroth or Kuja ?

Celes or Terra ?

Who is your favorite Final Fantasy VI character ?
It's got to be Terra. I like how she's a witch and actually reminds me of Rydia from FF4 a bit. Also, it helps that she has green hair .

Who is your least favorite character ?
I'll say...that abominable snowman. Umaro or something? He's pretty useless and has no personality at all :/.

Are you going to save Shadow or let him die ?
I'll save him this time. I always forget every other time though :lew:.

Best Song ?
Terra's Theme (or the world map theme, which I think is the same thing). The opera music is good too though. And the boss music. And the battle music. And most of the rest of the soundtrack :s .

What do you think of the Opera scene ?
Sehr good! It has got to be the best scene in the game :).

Kefka, Sephiroth or Kuja ?
Kuja for sure. Sephiroth is a bit bland, I think. Kefka is good though! I just prefer Kuja because he has a reason for being crazy and has a bit more backstory throughout the game, whereas Kefka is just a nut.

Celes or Terra ?
Terra, though I like them both. Celes' Runic ability is pretty amazing, but Trance is much better :lew:.

Thanks for all the info by the way! I don't know that much about this game (not as much as FF7-10 anyway) so it's nice to find some more out about it.

And thanks for watching and commenting! It really helps to motivate me to make more when people...watch :wacky:.

P.S. I spy on everyone 0_0

Episode 3 - Protected By...Moogles?

http://youtu.be/ZEp0W9ZaJ0M

Welcome back peoples! This episode is kind of cram packed with new stuffs. From Moogle battles that are a lot like Fort Condor of FF7, to the world map, to a few new battle terrains, to free exploration!

So, will we save Terra? Will we nob off and live as the moogles live? Will we die in the desert?

See you next time sirs and madams ;)

About the Thief Stealing Terra's heart thing

GOSH Locke is a TREASURE HuNTER THERE'S A HuGE DIFFERENCE U SALAD :rage:

(Just kidding ! And thanks for answering the questions ! <3
:yay: )

About the Thief Stealing Terra's heart thing

GOSH Locke is a TREASURE HuNTER THERE'S A HuGE DIFFERENCE U SALAD :rage:

I bet that's what all the thieves say :gasp:! I can't quite think of a time where he actually steals and stuff in the story really though, except when he needs clothes that one time. Pretty strange :wacky:.

P.S. I like your sig 0_0

Episode 4 - A Royal Pervert

http://youtu.be/SxjM-oqvhfc

Hello peoples, this here episode introduces us to another new party member: Edgar! He may be a perv but damnit, he's our perv! I worry for Terra, I really do :/

Anyways, Figaro Castle is such a nice place. I never normally like the castles in JRPGs ('cause they're normally huge and I always get lost) but this one is perdy and small. The fact that it can...do what it does in this episode is pretty amazing too! Is it cowardly or is it a good way to protect the people in the castle? A bit of both maybe.

Besides all this, we face another "boss"!

----------------------------------------------------

Magitek Armor x 2:

- Use Auto-Crossbow with Edgar each turn
- Cure with Terra if necessary
- Attack with Locke
- Easy times!

----------------------------------------------------

Did I really not mention that we get introduced to Kefka in this episode? Wows...

See you next time when we see just what our first proper dungeon is like! Thanks for watching :)

Episode 5 - One Man And His Dog

http://youtu.be/HCxhAc7v3r8

Ok, so when I was recording this episode, I thought I didn't get much done. I guess completing a dungeon and checking out a new town in one episode is pretty good though.

The first proper dungeon is really short and all the enemies can be beat with a good auto-crossbow. Still, it's nice to have a bit of cave-wandering sometimes. The music is good too :D. I've got to wonder why the name of the cave isn't given when you enter. I really should have checked the name of it in the main menu :wacky:.

Also, the town of South Figaro...there are plenty of barrels there aren't there? ;)

Thanks for watching :)

Hi Sprout,

I was really happy this morning that I happened to look down as far as Rocket Town and see this Let's Play. I haven't seen any of FFVI apart from the very beginning before, so I'll definitely be following this closely. I saw the very beginning a few years ago when I downloaded a German version but I'm awful at getting anything that doesn't just immediately open up in front of me to work properly so I could never get it to work. Danke schön für dieses Let's Play :)

PS - Your accent reminds me of home. I was born in Wales.

Ha you're very welcome! I played the opening of one game in german before, when I was learning the language for A Level. Couldn't understand most of it, but it was still fun to try :lew:. Also, Alundra in spanish is hilarious! El Llavo = Key, apparently :wacky:.

Ahhh, another Welshy! There are a couple of us around here somehow :sir:.

Haha yes, another Welshie. I don't sound at all Welsh though, I left when I was pretty young, and when I speak Welsh to my cousins they all think I sound silly. And yes, you were very nearly right - el alluve is a key in Spanish. Will look forward to following this Let's Play as it's genuinely the first time I've ever seen 99.99% of FFVI. I can already tell I'm going to end up either loving or hating Kefka. He seems to have a pretty legendary sense of humour, calling someone a "son of a sandworm". Genius.

Episode 6 - Blitzing Through Mt Kolts!

http://youtu.be/TAc8fVkozf0

Hey everyone, here comes an episode with a proper, full-on dungeon! It's the first place where I would say you could get stuck...I know I used to!

Before that though (we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves!), we check out where Edgar's brother (Sabin) has been living and see that he likes his cabbages.

As for Mt Kolts, keep following the shadow and you'll eventually make it to the boss. There are a few reasonably good treasures on the way up too, so try to grab them :).

------------------------------------------------------

Vargas and Ipooh (x2) Strategy:

- Take down the bears first. As always, Auto-Crossbow is a good way to go.
- Cure with Terra, or use Fire if you have plenty of HP and MP left.
- Stealing is pretty pointless on this boss. A potion isn't worth the time or effort.
- Attack with Locke.

------------------------------------------------------

Vargas Part 2:

- Go to Blitz
- Press A on Blitz
- Press right, left, right
- Press A
- Boss done!
------------------------------------------------------

So with Sabin the martial artist in our party, it's time to continue on towards the Returners' Hideout! That'll be next time though, so I'll see you there. Thanks for watching :)

Thanks once again, Sprout. I am really enjoying this, and it's even better for having to wait for the instalment that is to follow.

So with Sabin the marital artist

Wait, Sabin must be a master of disguise. I thought he was trained to beat people up, not marry them? :D

Diolch!

Ha, no problem. It's nice to know that someone wants them to be made :lew:. Also, I put that marital artist thing in to test people, naturally.

Episode 7 - Terra's Spellbinding Decision

http://youtu.be/OCYSnDcK1uk

Hey everyone, what we have here is a shortish episode showing the rest of Mt Kolts and the plan that's ahead for the Returners! For you see...we made it to the hideout!

It turns out that we need to split up from Locke and become a party of 3 once again. He needs to stay behind with the Returners, y'know?

But no! We get a different 4th party member called Banon! He's really weak and should definitely be thrown in the back row and should never attack. I'll chuck some more info up about him in the next episode :).

Thanks for watching! See you when we check out the river...

Hey just a suggestion that it might be a good idea to keep a walkthrough nearby so you can refresh your memory on the game and/ or play the game where you're at without filming and write down notes so everything can be kept going at a quick pace and you can get to bigger events faster.

Just a suggestion.

Another suggestion would be to be less serious and more laid back and have some fun and be a little more crazy. And talk about your own experiences than the game sometimes like " Oh gosh ZoZo's music is so fucking creepy man " And " Lol Edgar reminds me of that character from that TV show "Most advice being said most being who would be keen to watch would already know. It's more tutorial than Lets Play. I hope that this doesn't hurt your feels or anything, just want you to get more views because you deserve it bro.

just suggestions, don't take it 2 heart

See, I tried it with a walkthrough when I played through the Zeldas and it turned out to make everything more rigid. I don't want to be reading things while playing, y'know? I thought I was going at a good pace. I have hardly backtracked throughout (other than once in the last dungeon...but it's expected now and again).
I think I know enough about the game to talk about the enemies and bosses etc, so I honestly don't think I need a walkthrough :hmmm:. I may look through one for a dungeon if I've completely forgotten it all though.

I normally am more laid back during LPs, I think, so I'll try to get back to that. It's just that the last few episodes have been a brown dungeon with nothing to joke about really. Meh, I'll keep all this in mind ;).

A let's play can have many styles by the way. From walkthrough-esque with the odd joke (like mine) to the complete other side (probably Pewdiepie or someone similar, who I think are completely unbearable to watch).

Thanks for the advice :)

Maybe people who have actually seen FFVI before will think differently, but as someone who has never been through it before, never properly owned it, I think the speed is fine. Of course I'm looking forward to seeing the story develop more, meeting more of the apparently huge cast of playable characters and working out more about Terra and especially this Kefka clown, but I'm also enjoying having to wait. Well technically I don't have to wait as I could look it up, but what fun would that be? Also I quite like Sprout's idle chatting, but yes, it would make it even more interesting to see Sprout's sense of humour and more opinions on stuff that's going on. It's not a criticism, it's just nice to see what other people are like. I'd be terra-fied (haha... my sense of humour) to do one of these Let's Play things for others to see. Jeez :)
