Let's Play Final Fantasy 6!

Maybe people who have actually seen FFVI before will think differently, but as someone who has never been through it before, never properly owned it, I think the speed is fine. Of course I'm looking forward to seeing the story develop more, meeting more of the apparently huge cast of playable characters and working out more about Terra and especially this Kefka clown, but I'm also enjoying having to wait. Well technically I don't have to wait as I could look it up, but what fun would that be? Also I quite like Sprout's idle chatting, but yes, it would make it even more interesting to see Sprout's sense of humour and more opinions on stuff that's going on. It's not a criticism, it's just nice to see what other people are like. I'd be terra-fied (haha... my sense of humour) to do one of these Let's Play things for others to see. Jeez :)

Mmm, I can't see how someone can go through the game any faster so far. I mean, when you're commenting you have to stop and explain things every now and again, so there's that.

That's two people saying my sense of humour is non-existent when I'm trying to include jokes :gonk:. I shall try harder! :rage:

I'm not saying your sense of humour isn't there - I'm smiling through most of it either because it's refreshing to see one of the older games with retro-graphics or because I like your sense of humour. But the more jokes the better, in my opinion. They don't have to be that funny either - you saw my odd sense of humour above, anything makes me laugh :D

EDIT: I don't think you can go through the game much faster at this point, but I don't know it really yet so I can't really tell. You might be skipping side-quests or something for all I know. I've only played through VII once in my life and I dread to think how much I skipped because I didn't even get Vincent! :P

Episode 8 - Uncle Ulty Arrives!

http://youtu.be/DNmFT1zsiFA

Hellos everyone! This episode showcases all of the Lethe River, which is pretty easy, but can be time-consuming if you get lost in the currents. We also have ze boss to take down...

------------------------------------------------------

Ultros:

- Burn him with fire!
- Blitz away with the left, right, left command!
- Auto-Crossbow his arse!
- Make sure Banon is in the back row and heal every turn without fail!
- Use a phoenix down whenever someone dies. They may be expensive but it's better that people live to fight another day.

------------------------------------------------------

Ultros is pretty tough, I think. His attacks are incredibly powerful and he can attack twice in one turn :/. Being in blind isn't really a problem though.

Aaaaand with Sabin out of the picture, we make it to the end of the river! Now for something a bit different! I'm not going to record any more for a day or two and we'll see what order you guys want to see the scenarios in! Chuck me a comment/post/PM/whatever saying which you'd like to see:

1) Terra and the gang
2) Locke
3) Sabin

Each of these are very different and will be fun for different reasons.

Thanks for watching sirs and madams :)

I genuinely have no idea what happens to any of them - Sabin could be dead for all I know. I assume iSmiff knows the story though. I vote Terra (because I still feel like I know nothing about her), Sabin and then Locke.

What else would you want me to burn him with? Hell, what else would be possible? A feather duster? :P

I say do Sabin's story then go to Locke, and then do Terra's last. Mostly since Sabin's seems to be the most time consuming of the three and you get a chance to use a new char briefly and also for the fact you see Kefka again.

^ Voting for this one 2

Sabin has Kefka in it, if you enjoy his character ^^

I know something else but that would be spoilers:tehe:

@ Sprout and anybody else who's played the game and knows etc

Painting his portrait riiiight ?

Nope! Why did you think that?

I don't know, I just got the general impression you'd played most of the main games. Maybe you just have that all-knowing aura about you, who knows? :) I must really have lived under a rock for years because I'd never heard of Kefka or Terra before joining this forum. Then I went through all the numbered games in my head and realised I'd never really seen VI at all.

Ha, i'm not really sure how to take that. Thanks... I guess ? :P I've got 6 on PS1 disk. Maybe I should play though myself :hmmm: . I've got 5 on my ps3 too and not played that yet either !

Take it as a compliment, which is what it was meant to be. In all seriousness maybe you'd mentioned you had copies of them in some thread or other before so I assumed you'd played them. Clearly a flawed logic as I had a copy of 12 for years before really getting into it. But then considering how different it is I'm not at all surprised.

Episode 9 - A Ninja's Day Out

http://youtu.be/NuPs5J15U6o

Hey there everyone, the majority vote is in and it looks like we're starting with Sabin! Considering he's the newest character that we haven't used for long, it makes sense really.

We also get to grab a new party member today too. A certain ninja and his dog that we met drinking his sorrows away a while back. He's pretty useful if you buy some shurikens and throw them...but for now attacking is more than enough to beat the enemies.

You know you've got it tough when you need to sneak through an empire's camp. Especially with Kefka waiting around...you'd think he was a waiter! We also get to meet general Leo, who is actually kinda nice. Who knew it was possible?

Aaaand finally, we meet Cyan the Samurai in Doma Castle! More about that next time ;)

Thanks for watching :)

P.S. I tried to take your comments on board. We'll see how it turned out :monocle:.

I'm really tempted to play through this myself now. Just gotta find the pesky disk and the motivation

Yeah it is Kefka's theme. Love it, such a underated track. Overshadowed by Dancing Mad. :sad3:

NOOOOOOES. I sold it :(. Gonna have to buy it again on PSN. How foolish of me.

Damn. Is that likely to prevent you from starting it now? I'm sure it'll be one of the first things I play when my PS3 arrives tomorrow. Forget GTA 5, Final Fantasy calls :)

Corr, you didn't mess about did you? Problem is we get ripped off in the UK. It;s $5 in the US but £8 over here? BS!
