I've just been thinking this. Do you think Quina's a boy or is it a Girl. I think he might be a girl remember he had to marry vivi.
 
Quina was a he/she/it thing. I don't think the gender actually is clear. I know the guide doesn't say either way, just calls it an it. *shrugs*

Quina was an it simple as that. Crazy looking, crazy dialect, and some of the weirdest trances/overdrives ever. Eating something? ha nice.
 
I like to think that Quina is so weird that they don't even know what the hell kinda gender it is, hence the whole s/he business.

If I had to choose, I'd say Female though - just for that little apron thingie it wears.
 
I think that's something the creators left up to the players. If you prefer to think of it as a male, more power to ya.
Personally, I'd like to say Quina is a female, that way I got a chance with her.

Get some!
 
I think it's probably impossible to tell, like with gogo. Also, given that she's not human, she could be both. She could be neither for that matter.
 
Well, considering that Quina marries Vivi later on in the game, I like to think that "it" is a girl. Otherwise, poor Vivi married a guy... And Vivi did have kids later on after all..
 
I personally saw Quina as a girl...due to the name and what s/he wore. haha. It was a bit girly, IMO.

Just made it eaiser to name him/her as a girl. =/.

Ugh, I'm so tired of seeing these topics.

The game never specifies. A definite answer is never given in guides or anywhere. My guess is that the Qu reproduce asexually and are therefore hermaphrodites. Either that or Zidane just couldn't figure out what the hell Quina was and didn't want to look up that dress.

As for the dwarven wedding ceremony, they probably couldn't tell what Quina was either, or didn't care. It was just a plot device so Vivi and Quina could go to the Iifa tree as well. And the marriages themselves were pretty much null and void after the party left Conde Petie anyway.
 
When I thought of Quina, I usually thought of her as female Just because she looks more feminine than masculine.

Same reason as me. lol. It just LOOKED more like a girl. =/. Although, sometimes I called it a him and then at another point I said her. Bleh. So confusing.
 
Also, Vivi and Quina don't have to get "married" you can just skip that. The dwarfs probably married anything together anyway, considering that Vivis about 7 years old and Quinas some sort of monster :monster:
 
Pssh, when I was seven I married pink, large, gender-unknown monsters too. I don't see the problem.
I'm still gonna say Quina is a girl. You haven't been where I have. ;)
 
ve been palying FF9 for a while now, and in the first time you go Mardain Sari, after dinner, Eiko says he and then in the next sentence s/he. But in my honest opinion I think Quina might be a she.
 
Both. It's one of those Gender-neutral suckers like jenova that can change it's gender whenever it wants or can deceive anyone to think it's whatever they want it to be.

So if Quina has a huge crush on Zidane, it can be a girl for a night while it gets its groove on with him, then if Quina's feelin' the love for Eiko 2 days later, Quina can be a guy and one-night stand Eiko.
 
When I was younger I always used to think Quina was a girl, but now I just think it has no gender. I like it that way! ^^
 
Oh man, I love Quina! He/She was my favorite character, in IX, after Kuja ( My dearest love ) that is. As to my opinion what sex it was, well, I always figured Quina to be a female. Maybe it was the pink outfit? I don't know! Lol. Yes, I always thought it was a female. You people know you love Quina. So spread the love.
