[Real RP!] - Have Party, Will Travel

Location: Castle Morris - Under the Throne Room

The Duke panted, taking a step back from the creature, with a maddened smile on his face. The beast snorted lowly and it's narrow eyes gleamed in the dim light of the room. It jerked its head slightly and gnashed its teeth.

"This will suffice for now, while I prepare my counter-attack,"
he muttered, gazing upon the creature, satisfied.

He pointed to the stairway that led up to the throne room. "Go, my pretty. I want you to greet the guests as soon as they arrive. Treat them well," he said wickedly, almost breaking into a downright evil laugh.

The air in the ritual room was thick with the smell of brimstone and the smell of scorched blood, full of vapors of other materials used in the conjuring of the beast that padded heavily towards the staircase, gnashing its teeth and hissing as it moved, red eyes reflecting the dim light into dots of gleaming hatred.

Meanwhile the Duke stepped in the middle of an elaborately created magic circle of runes and infernal signs.

"There shall be no turning back now..."

Location: Castle Morris - Eastern Hallway

"Pom, Charles! You two take the left turn here! It'll take you to the room where a power-crystal is, it powers the entire sector of the castle. Shut it down--it should cause more confusion to keep the guards distracted!" Ryan blurted, hastily pointing the two down a hallway vertical to the one he was leading the group down.

To his relief the pair were too caught up in the rush to argue or ask questions and just barreled down that turn. Ryan was hopeful that Pom's skill with machines would make it easy for her to turn the power off.

He was fortunate enough to have been conscious and paying attention to what the guards were talking about every time he got dragged out of his holding cell to be used for a ritual. They always brought him down this hallway, and he'd heard some guards talk about problems in the power room, and he'd heard enough to make a rough estimate of where it was. People always seemed to forget that bards had ears and very, very good memories.

So as long as those two didn't get hopelessly lost, the plan would work.

The next turn of the hallway would bring Cerden, Leo and Ryan through some of the upper holding cells, where Ryan had deduced that the Duke kept a lot of his 'guests', the ones he was planning to extract magic from for his own crazy uses.

Seth looked at this creature the Duke had pulled out of his basement, well; there were more to it than that but shush now. The Duke seemed quite happy with himself, but Seth could not understand why he were so glad about this achievement. Though he did state that it would have to suffice as he go plan for the apparent real thing.
"So, you plan to attack them... With and overgrown r*" Seth's question was cut short as the duke pointed towards a stairway as he commanded his ironic beast. At least he looked at them as guests, in an ironic taste, for now.

The air in this room was ghastly, it was almost a miracle that the man was still able to breathe, Seth himself were kind of lucky all things considered; he cannot smell or taste anything unless he has enough water to help him process the particles that create smell. This also made him quite immune to the heavy severely used up air, it was also a miracle that candlelight were burning at all.

The rather nicely dressed man walked towards an overly detailed drawing of a circle in a part of the room, though, it might not be overly complicated compared to what it might need to be as Seth himself really did not have any idea to how those things worked; as strange as it sounded Seth were not really magically inclined.

The Duke sounded happy, or as happy as a man can sound like he is without tipping over the rails of sanity, which to be honest he sounded like he had already jumped over with a running start. The worlds of no return escaped the madman's lips as he took the almost perfect center in the circle.
"No, that part is correct. There is no turning back from the punishment that awaits you." Seth stated rather sure of himself with a tone that were far from content.

Raz rubbed the back of her neck anxiously and glanced at the dark servant's door. Clair should've followed them by now. Raz wanted to get to the fight. She wanted to feel the thrill of battle singing through her veins, taste the excitement and glorious joy she only found in battle. She wanted to spill blood.

"Screw it," she said finally. "We're going. Cid, lead on."

She glanced at Tali, who'd fallen peculiarly silent. "Tali, you okay?" It suddenly occurred to her that revealing she'd been the product of a eugenics program might have put Tali off some, and made her reconsider joining them. "Don't worry, I'm not a monster or anything," Raz assured her. "Just superior breeding."

As she finished saying this, Cid pulled out his claymore from the cabinet with a wrench on the hilt, taking most of the cabinet with it. Swinging it to let it rest on his massive shoulder, Cid gestured for them to follow.

Behind the compost chute, a blank brick wall greeted them. Cid nudged a brick and the wall slid to the side with a soft grating sound. Pitch darkness greeted them. A chilly wind swept around the group and Raz shivered slightly. The darkness was so absolute it almost had a physical presence, as though some supernatural enemy had stepped into the room with them. The human eye was never meant for such pure darkness and Raz felt slightly unnerved a she tried to pick some pattern from the seamless cloth of darkness before her.

"Um, Tali.... Do you think you could manage a light spell?" The runes on her sword were glowing slightly, but little more than faint glimmers. Raz tore her gaze away from the yawning black. "All right, everyone you ready?"

Not waiting for an answer, she stepped into the darkness.

Aaron Sohm
Morris Castle-Inner maze-Kitchen

Aaron Gulped as the big guy takes out a huge claymore, acting like it's nothing to carry. After which he presses a brick on the brick wall revealing a hidden enterance, surprised at this yet the Darkness was so black he doubt's that anyone could find their way in it,Raz Asked Tali to produce a light spell but walked into it before she could respond.

Aaron:..Damn she's always in a rush..!

Aaron take's a candle from his pack this was the very same one the miner gave to him back when he hunted the Baphomet,he lit it and placed it back into the helmet he still carried with him lighting the darkness a bit till Tali could follow us with a light spell.

Aaron:Come on Tali she's leaving us behind again...!!

“Oh, what, not at all,” Tali said. “I was simply lost in thought, actually.” She followed behind Raz as she went into the darkness. Tali brushed her hand through her long black hair and picked up her staff. She quickly slapped it against her left hand and an orb of light appeared at the end of it. “Would this do? I could brighten it up if you like…” Tali was being uncharacteristically nice at the moment. Of course, that’s how she always acted when she suddenly felt the need to get something out of someone.

Tali’s mind was racing with so many ideas! She wondered if she could get Raz drunk. How much liquor would a person with “superior breeding” be able to take? What about slipping something in her drink to make her sleep? Oh there were so many options… not to mention so many possibilities of failure. Tali would have to invite her for a drink after all this was over. She wanted to pick her brain… both figuratively and literally.

Needless to say, Tali’s mind was no longer on the mission at hand. This was the most intrigued she had been throughout the whole “trip” so far. “Raz, was it? How about a drink after all this is said and done?” It was never too early to set a plan in motion…

Location: Morris Castle - Eastern Hallway--Holding Cells Area

Ryan sent Pom and Charles down to shut off the generator. It’s not like Cerden really gave a rats ass, but as longs as this plan works, he has no choice but to just simply accept it. Besides, this meant he would be able to get his hands on some more guards, and if there was something that Cerden enjoyed more than drinking, it was kicking some much-needed ass. And boy did the duke and his creations have an ass-kicking written all over their faces.

The group was just Leo, Ryan, and Cerden now. It seemed like things were about to head to a close, but Cerden had to wonder where on earth Gary was. It’s been a good hour or so since Cerden entered the Castle. He did tell Gary to take a fly or two around Morris, but one has to wonder what that bastard has been up to. Gary was no pushover, but still Cerden worries about his tendency to cause more trouble than there is needed.

The combination of being lost in his thoughts completely made Cerden unaware of the fact that the three of them had came to an upper level where there were holding cells or something like that. “So, uh Ryan, I know I’m a dumbass for asking this, but why the fuck are these people in these holding cells?”

Raz stood in the darkness, her breathing slow and even, as her training had ingrained in her. When Tali produced the light, Raz felt immeasurably more comfortable. She'd never liked the darkness. She'd never liked small, close-in spaces either for that matter. Oh, this was going to be fun alright.

"That's perfect, Tali. Don't want to make it too bright. In fact, can you make it red? It'll help our eyes adjust to the darkness better."

Raz gave Tali a questioning look at the elf's unusual request, arching one eyebrow. "I'll take any drink anyone offers me. Your on, provided we get out of this alive!"

Aaron Sohm

Tali rushes past Aaron without even careing,he gets knocked to the side of the wall."..God may as well be a damn ghost.."He thinks to himself.Wonder's if he should have even came with these two.Raz seem's like a ok person except maybe the way her personality changes in battle. But Tali seem's to disregard anyone that's not interesting to her.He Sigh's aloud.

Aaron:...So where will this path take us anyways?

Doesn't even know if they'll respond to it,at least if it was Sirocco he would try to make small talk even though before it would only be rawrs and playful squeels..

(OOC: Shitty short post is shitty and short. :hmph: It won’t happen again. )

Tali quickly made the light bright as soon as Raz mentioned it. “Is that better,” She asked. She didn’t even bother to acknowledge the presence of Aaron. In fact, she almost forgot that he was there. However, he wasn’t nearly as interesting. Therefore, Tali didn’t care. However, when Raz accepted Tali’s offer for a drink… she smiled, which, of course, was also very uncharacteristic of her. There were just so many things she wanted to test… so many things indeed.

“How much longer is this tunnel,” suddenly, the annoyed tone in Tali’s voice was returning. “I want to hurry and get this over already.”

Two weeks earlier

"Hey Protector, where the hell are we?"

"Relax, Church. Everything is gonna be alright."

Aedan and his group had been walking for days, seemingly lost, and even though everyone knew it, Aedan still believed he knew where he was going. Aedan, who had been in charge of the map, dropped it in the water during a fight. When he picked up the map, it was ruined, no longer telling where they were supposed to go. Instead of taking the time to try to fix it, Aedan threw it on the ground, and took his group with him, "following the path".

"It's your fucking fault anyway, Church. What did I tell you when we stopped? 'Don't let anyone hit me, I'm gonna look at the map.' And what happened? Somebody fucking hit me. How the hell did they even get so far in on us?"

Aedan started getting more and more frustrated, since he was being blamed for it, even though it wasn't his fault. He tried keeping his cool, as he didn't want to lose the respect of his group. Instead, he did what most leaders in his situation would do.

"Anyway, let's not fight over it. If I am right, we should be at our destina-"

Aedan was frozen in mid-sentence when he looked ahead and saw a large group of soldiers, all of them armored, and all of them pointing weapons at him and his men. As he saw them, he turned to look at Church, only to realize that Church had done the exact same thing.

"Oh, you have got to be fucking kidding me." They both said in unison.

The last thing he remembered from that day, was being hit in the head by a big man with a sword, and blacking out.

Present Day

As Aedan woke up, he had a massive headache, like he would get after waking every day since he was put in the cell. He could still see the ambush in his head, and he could still remember the mission he had, as if he was determined to do it as soon as he got out. As he thought of what his mission was, his stomach started to grumble.

"Gah, this is crap. Can't a guy get fed more than once every whenever the fuck you feel like it? It sucks, I don't even know how long I've been here, either."

As he said that, the guard nearest his cell smacked the cell door with his weapon. He then mumbled something under his breath as he walked away. Aedan could tell by his body language that he really didn't want to be here guarding him, but it appeared he didn't have a choice in the matter. From off in the distance, he could hear what sounded like people coming.

"Hmmm. Strength unknown. Nobody else knows I'm here. Could it be Church with some backup to get me out of here?"

Location: Castle Morris - Eastern Block - Holding Cells

Ryan was glad that others were keeping up. He'd sorta half regretted it that he told Pom and Charles to head to the generator, but it was for the best. At the very least he could count on Cerden--hypothetically--and Leo...if that halfling could keep up.

"Basically they're batteries," Ryan put it bluntly as they bound up some stairs. "The Duke imprisoned foreigners with magic gifts and he's been spending time ripping their magic out of them to use as fuel or in occult experiments. The dude's serious about overthrowing the King of Boletaria and taking over, or what have you. Other than that, I'm not sure. Like I said, this is my first maniacal warlock...Oh hello there!" he blurted brightly, coming face to face with one of two warden guards that were guarding the cells.

Most were empty, but a few still had people in them, although most of them looked exhausted and too weary and drained to be of much help. But at least one them, whose armor looked like it belonged to a paladin's, looked 'fresh' enough.

"Cerden, get that other guard, will you?" Ryan asked him quite politely while he grabbed a chair that the guards used to rest and hurled it right at the guard before attacking him with the longsword he'd ganked off a body earlier.

"Hey paladin dude! You alive at all? Up for a jailbreak?" he shouted at the paladin.

"Hey paladin dude! You alive at all? Up for a jailbreak?"

Aedan looked at the person who spoke, and realized one very important thing: it wasn't the person he was thinking it was gonna be. Which meant one thing, and he thought about it for a minute. Church is either still alive and out there somewhere, he is trapped in here somewhere, or he is dead. As he thought about these scenarios, he knew that none of them were going to help right now. Then it suddenly dawned on him: This is a rescue!

"Who the hell........how the.........you know what, fuck it. The sooner I get out of here, the sooner I can report back. When I find who has my sword, I'm gonna deliver a swift and righteous ass kicking. That bastard is probably dicking around with my helmet, too."

He looked at the people outside his cell, and didn't know or care who they were, how they got there, or what they were doing there. All he knew was that they were going to get him out of there, and that was the first step.

"So, are you gonna find a key and let me out, or am I just supposed to claw and dig my way out, like I've been trying to do for days now?"

Location: Castle Morris ramparts

"Should we not leave, Casib?" A trio of hooded figures stood on the forward ramparts of the castle of Morris, looking down into the courtyard that had been all but abandoned by a group of erstwhile 'heroes'. The central figure crouched low over the edge and peered out, watching for signs of movement. The speaker, the rightmost hooded figure, seemed calm, though his voice betrayed a hint or irritation. "These things have little to do with us," he continued, "And I fail to see how our involvement will further our cause."

The crouching figure raised himself and turned back to his companions. "Lechter, you know as well as I that everything that happens could be of concern to us," he said. "But more importantly, these happenings are steeped in dark magic. There may be something here we could use." He gestured back to the remains of the short skirmish. "Those guards were weak, but were touched by a dark magic with potential. How much potential, I am not sure, but potential nonetheless." Casib walked back towards the door of a nearby keep. "But you are right; our direct involvement will help little. We shall assign one of our disciples to this task. Hirsh?" The third figure, silent until now, turned at the summons of Casib. "I would like one of your disciples to tail the group of the half-demon, the one who creates armour over his skin. They are too dangerous to be left unattended." The third figure, still silent, bowed and followed Casib to the door. Lechter remained behind a moment, then followed them both down the stairwell of the keep.

Location: Castle Morris - Eastern Blocks - Holding Cells

Cerden didn’t know what guard that Ryan was talking about, but about three seconds later that came completely obvious as it was the guard waving his sword like some crazy lunatic. This guard was about the same height as Cerden, but he was like almost twice as heavy and could be a bit stronger than him, but when Cerden throws in his ‘special’ abilities, that all becomes irrelevant.

Taking Twin Heart out of their sheaths, Cerden quickly dodges the downward vertical strike from the guard’s sword as he sways in a turning motion to the left, and moves quickly behind him. From that, Cerden sweeps his leg behind the guard’s left leg causing him to fall backwards.

With the guard falling backwards, Cerden does a leaping front flip and delivers a strait axe-kick to the stomach of the guard rendering him not only completely motionless, but also breathless.

“Maybe that was a bit too hard,” cerden said briefly gazing down at the now dead guard, “oh well.”

Quickly shrugging off that sight of the dead guard, Cerden walked over to the cage where Ryan was speaking to the Paladin in the cage. He arrived soon enough to hear the guy in the cage ask Ryan if he had a key or something. Cerden laughed slightly.

“Stand back paladin.” Cerden said.

Holding out his hand in a strait form, as if it were a knife or something. Cerden kneeled on one knee, slowly digging his hand into the dirt, and by manipulating the silicon he hardened the fabric to such a density that it literally was sharp as a nail, except sharper and much much more sturdier . His hand now had glass around it, and formed in the shape of a knife.

Cerden then stood back up on both of his feet, and with one diagnol slash, he cut a clean cut of the cage bars. After a few more slashes to widen the amount cut, Cerden would create the answer to the Paladin’s question.

“Now let’s go.”

"Thanks, Tali," Raz murmured, distracted. This tunnel warped sound, made it hard to track the source of a sound. She drew her sword, held it ready in her hand. Stealthily, she crept down the tunnel, staying pressed to the wall.

...So where will this path take us anyways?

"Shh!" Raz hissed. She put a hand out to the side, motioning him to halt. "Did you hear that?"

Silence echoed.

"Something's down here."

Seemed like Aaron was in the dog house again,he droops his head but hears something as Raz said it sounded like a slithering sound...Most likely to be snakes or worse...

Aaron:I...Don't like that sound..

Aaron Draw's his sword but the path is narrow so he would not be much help if his sword got stuck in a wall.

((OOC:We'll probably post more next))

(( OOC: *pokepokestabs Sexy Beast* Oi, mind yourself hon, you slipped into present tense there D: We're past-tense here, don't forget. ;_; it makes me sad when you do because I have to be all strict with you guys... ))

"Nice moves," Ryan commented, a bit taken aback from Cerden's display. "It's a bummer none of these other people seem like they can even pick their feet up, let alone fight. All we can do is just open their cells."

He sheathed the sword he was using. "Hey, what's your name friend? I'm Ryan Gaven, bard extraordinaire and this is, um, Cerden, who's probably better qualified to glorify himself, since I haven't had time to compose a suitable sonnet for him...or anyone, for that matter..." he chuckled, and formed a hair of thick tentacles from the blood armor on his back and started ripping out the doors off the cells holding people.

"Ouch, ouch," he blurted after second one. "Ow...I guess I am running low on blood after all..." he muttered.

He spied a half-eaten sandwich on the table in the guard post, halfway through the hallway. He bit his lip, torn between options...and then promptly grabbed it and scarfed it down in a less than graceful manner.

"Yuck, anchovies? Who the hell puts anchovies in a sandwich..." he then grumbled, very nearly gagging. "Whatever, it'll have to do. I need food in my system..."

They still had a bit of a ways to go before they reached the throne room.

I sure as hell hope Raz and Ty and their team get to the throne room in time. I don't think I can hold off that crazed Duke for long. I'm barely in good enough shape to run around like this, he thought.

“Now let’s go.”

As he looked upon the person who cleanly opened his door to freedom, he realized that something good was going to come from this. Realizing that nobody else would be coming, he got up and walked out of his cell, finally grasping that this was indeed a rescue.

"My thanks. I am Aedan Del Rynn, a paladin in the order of the Radiant Heart. I wonder, do any of you know a man named Church?"

Aedan was shocked to see that the one called Ryan grew tentacles from his back, and started ripping off the cell doors. As he ripped one off, he heard him cry out in pain, then mutter something to himself.

"Excuse me, Ryan, but is there something wrong?"

Raz motioned for them the stand behind her. The red light illuminated about twenty feet ahead, and cast long shadows. Raz's eyes were dilated all the way, so only a thin sliver of red was visible when she turned back to the other, like a small red loop of wire hovering in blackness. The sight was eerie.

"Stay close to me. Tali, keep the light up, no matter what happens. I hope that bear is hungry."

Sword in hand, as tense as piano wire, Raz began the long journey into the black.

((OCC: Sorry about the switching of past-tense to present-tense; I kind of have a bad habit of doing that. I try not to, but it creeps up on my like a spider D: )

Location: Morris Castle - Eastern Section - Holding Cells

A laugh came out of Cerden as Ryan would talk to the Paladin who then very shortly announced his name as being Aeden Del Rynn. When he did do that, Cerden thought of so many creul things to say, and if he were to met this guy on the street somewhere, then perhaps he would have done such a thing, but seeing as how Cerden has came little ways since he first began his journey, he withheld the temptation.

"The name is Cerden Celebrindal, being a sarcastic asshole is my game.” Said Cerden with the upmost pride in himself, and a pounding of his chest to show such pride.

After he took a moment or two to boast in his pride, Cerden then noticed that Ryan was having trouble with his armor. He hadn’t noticed it before because it seemed like it was under control, and Cerden didn’t want to make a big fuss about it. Though, looking at Ryan now kind of worries Cerden. It’s not like the bond between the two would be considered best of buds, but still..Cerden doesn’t want him to--you know, DIE.

“Hey ryan, if you ever need any blood, you can always suck some of mine out like a rabid hyena “ Cerden was kidding of course, but you know, it was still a valid offer.
