[Real RP!] - Have Party, Will Travel

Location: Morris Castle - Eastern Section - Holding Cells

Ryan smiled wryly at Cerden. "Thanks for the offer, man, but I'm not a vampire. Anyway Aedan, don't worry about me, I'm fine. I just use my blood to make these nifty things," he said, making the tentacles wriggle a little, before he made them meld into the mass of blood on his back, which then spread over his back and chest like an armor plate.

He didn't really seem to be aware of his blood's behavior...or rather he was, but didn't really pay it much attention. "The point is, I'm running a bit low. I'm a half-fiend and I've been a prisoner of the Duke's for a few months now, and the dude's been draining me like a blood bag. He was using my blood to raise some kinda demonic army to march on Valentia and overthrow the King of Boletaria, or so I gathered. It looks like his plans weren't working so well, even before we crashed the party. I think the man's desperate enough now to try something else..." he said with a shrug and then rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

"And that kinda worries me. I have no love for my demonic ancestors and the chance that Dukey's trying to conjure a big one to sic on us doesn't really spell out my ideal day. Originally I was just gonna do a big jailbreak and get the hell outta dodge...but fuck me if I'm gonna pass up the chance to nail my first evil warlock. I'm not too sure if I feel like making it my first rampaging demon, though..." he added with a nervous laugh. "Oh we better get going! The others will reach the throne room before us! I think it's just one floor up!"

“Berhu is always hungry,” Tali replied. The smug grin on her face was clearly visible due to the light. She noted how odd her shadow looked compared to the others. Their shadows looked slender, whereas her shadow coupled alongside Berhu’s made it look like a giant bear had a small stick coming out of his back. As much as she wanted to giggle at the sight of it, she refrained. She knew she was tiny, but she never really thought about it until now.

It seemed as if they had been walking down this cramped hallway for ages now. As much as Tali was trying to pretend to be nice, she couldn’t help but be just a little aggravated by it. Still, she kept the staff held up and red so that they could all see. Just to prepare, she let her fingertips glow blue from the lightning. If something came through, she would shock it to death.

It was just a faint outline. Limned in the red light, Raz's magically-enhanced eyes caught the faint shadowy shape of a thin, nearly gaunt figure limping toward them. The coppery smell of blood wafted toward Raz and she paused, holding up a hand to halt the others. The smell was familiar to her, having caught a whiff of it not a few minutes ago.

"Ryan?" she asked tentatively.

Limp, drag. Limp, drag. The left leg appeared to be wounded, and made a scuffing sound as it dragged across the floor. Something didn't sound quite right about that sound, something.... like bone.

"Guys, get back," Raz muttered, taking a step backward herself.

At the sound of her voice, the person looked up.

It wasn't a person.

Dead, glazed eyes stared at nothing as a jaw, split open impossibly wide, opened to issue a rasping shriek at the group. The demonic creature was a mockery of a human. It was tall and gaunt, with hands dangling past the knees and ending in enormous spidery claws that could rip a warhound in two. The skin was gray and lifeless, like dead and putrefying flesh. The skin had rotted away, exposing gray muscle and sickly colored bone.

The thing moved with incredible speed. Shrieking that bone-chilling, raspy cry, the demon dashed forward in a blur, bouncing off the wall just in front of Raz to rebound and slash at Tali, knocking the elf off her mount. Raz slashed at the thing but it moved too fast, scurrying away and tackling Aaron instead, knocking him to the floor.

((If anyone was wondering, I'm RPing the monster, fyi.))

Tali saw the figure as well… She couldn’t see it as well as Raz could, so when she believed it to be Ryan, Tali believed herself to be safe. Well, perhaps there would be unneeded sexual descriptions of things, but she would be safe. There was some shuffling noises that sounded odd, and then that’s when Raz warned everyone to get back. Tali had no time before whatever it was that wasn’t Ryan shrieked and moved and ended up knocking Tali from her Berhu.

She hit the ground with a rather light thud. Even though she was so small, the fall still managed to hurt her. To make matters worse, Berhu was moving around attempting to catch it. Yet the hall wasn’t big enough for him to move that way. He ended up stepping on Tali’s leg and she gasped in the pain of it. Berhu was a rather heavy creature, and Tali a rather light one… She tried to hurry up and stand as Raz swung her sword at the thing and missed.

As it traveled to Aaron, it knocked him to the ground as well. Tali was now leaning up on her staff to stand. Her leg was hurt badly… she knew she wouldn’t be able to put much weight on it. The light from the staff was still glowing bright red, though it was now flickering as Tali tried to figure out what to do. Extending her arm, she fired that lightning she had stored at her fingertips at the creature.

Aaron Sohm

Raz sensed something at the bottom of the stair's,he looked over and saw a odd looking person..before he knew it,it had charged into the cramped stairwell avoiding Raz's Attack and slashing at Tali only to knock her off her mount.Tali's mount then injured Tali by stepping on her leg as it tried to attack the demon,She screamed loudly and it looked like she was unable to move on her own,Raz then slashed at it and it dodged it only to hit Aaron in the side knocking him down and behind him.Tali casts a Lightning Spell that shoots up the stairs trying to hit it,Aaron Stands back up and didn't see if the Lightning hit it.

"Ok I'm getting pissed off now..Raz you take Tali and her Mount downstairs I'm going to kill this thing..You two shouldn't be around when I use this attack..I won't need to see if I use this.."Aaron look's behind himself and showed to Raz he's Serious about this,he eyes show determination.

As he look's back up the stairs he can see it faintly in the red light. It charges forward trying to get past Aaron as it approaches he put's his sword to the front and blocks it from going behind him and attacking Tali or Raz Again.

"Move it!"He Say's barely keeping his footing from the first charge he waits on Raz to get Tali and move.

"Ugh." Clair drew her sword. "Looks like our Duke isn't very lawful. But it's more fun that way." A fanged smile spread across Clair's face, the marks on her face appearing to writhe in reaction to her facial expression's change.

Spreading her legs so that they were a little apart, she held her sword in one hand, hilt at her waist and sword held stiffly at her side, a prime position with which to commence battle.

As one who emphasized speed over brute force, Clair was immediately wary of this one. A creature that was both fast and strong. Those claws weren't to be sniffed at either. One hit from those things and she'd be in a world of hurt.

So she would simply avoid contact. Simple, no?

Well, she would avoid the use of magic for now. First was testing whether or not this creature was vulnerable to that which existed on a physical plane. With a grunt of exertion, she dashed forward, sword arm extended in a rapid stab at the abomination's shoulder. Aiming to stab it in the heart would be no fun. After all, she was only testing its resistances for now.

After all, it was so much more fun that way.

((Um Lelouch, I'm RPing the monster. You just god-modded. No harm done, just so you know not to do it again, lol.))

If Raz could've spared the time to give Aaron a scornful look, she would've. As it were, she only snorted and pressed the attack.

The monster shrieked as Tali's lightning struck it, the force of the spell sending the monster skidding down the hall. It writhed unnaturally as it twisted to its feet and, running on the wall on all fours, it charged at them again.

This time, Raz was ready. She held her position until the last possible moment, then suddenly side-stepped and lopped the creature's arm off. She cursed. She'd been aiming for the head, not the arm but it had seen her move and was too damn fast to fall for such tricks easily. Still, it wasn't very bright. At least they had that advantage.

Raz risked taking a glance at the group. She was pleasantly surprised to see Clair had caught up. "Clair! Go around to the other side, flank it! Tali, keep that light up!"

The monster was a little stunned by the loss of one arm but lunged at Aaron again. Claws tore into his clothing. Raz couldn't see if he'd escaped getting hurt, but by that point she wasn't as concerned at the moment.

The arm was moving.

Splitting down the middle into four grisly parts, yet connected at the wrist, the arm stood up and lunged at Raz. She'd been gaping in amazement and didn't jump back quickly enough -- four long gouges appeared on her arm.

((OOC Eehh sorry about that x.x not really sure how I should post now XD))

He looks up to see that Claire had made it back.As she does Raz yell's a order.

"Clair! Go around to the other side, flank it! Tali, keep that light up!"

Sighing he decides to keep with his original plan,it should only turn the monster to ash everyone else should just feel a recoil..

Raz ignored the warning, and kept attacking the monster,The monster darted around like a annoying fly trying to strike everything,it eventually came back to Attack Aaron again, its claw rip's his sleeves and his torso he got injured on the side.

Flinching from that before he could counter it darted away again.

"...I'm going to use it,you were warned so don't get pissed at me if you get hurt..I'm in no mood to play hide and seek with some freak of nature..!"

He grab's his sword firmly and places it forward,he focus' his energy on the tip of the sword. As he concentrates a Black Orb appears and grows in size it is covered by a Azure light lighting up the Stairwell.Soon After his body envelops in the same glow.He Wait's on the monster to attack him again this time it wouldn't get away.

((OOC:Best I could come up with atm))

"Thanks for the offer, man, but I'm not a vampire. Anyway Aedan, don't worry about me, I'm fine. I just use my blood to make these nifty things,"

"Wow. That is.........really interesting."

Aedan thought about it for a minute, then decided against it. He knew he had slept really poorly the last few nights, and didn't know if he had all of his spells at will, since he can't remember much after getting knocked out.

"Oh we better get going! The others will reach the throne room before us! I think it's just one floor up!"

"Yeah, lets get out of here. The sooner we get done, the sooner I can get my ass chewed out by my superiors for essentially fucking up my mission, if I ever get back to them."

He looked around for a weapon to use, until he got his own back, and found a rather beat-up looking sword lying around. "This will have to do, I guess." He mumbled to himself.

Tali smiled as she managed to hit the monster with the lightning… but scowled quickly as she realized it hadn’t stopped it. After it slid across the floor it was quickly back on its feet and crawling on the wall towards Raz. Raz moved quickly, sidestepped, and chopped the arm off of the creature. However that didn’t seem to be enough. She barked an order for Tali to keep the light up, but Tali had no intention of letting the light drop. That much was clear and she didn’t need to be reminded of it.

As the monster attacked Aaron, Tali was concentrated on the same thing Raz was. The very arm that she ridded the monster of was now moving, and before either of them could do something about it the arm split at the middle and jumped at Raz. From the looks of it, the arm had hit her. Tali tried to move but her leg caused her to wince in pain. “Stupid Berhu and your stupid leg…” She couldn’t use fire in this confined space due to the explosions at the heat…

Earth magic could collapse the tunnel, there was no moisture in the air for water… the only thing she could do was keep shocking the thing. “Berhu! Go fetch the arm, and do not step on my leg again!” Berhu chased after the arm as Tali painfully turned to face the creature that had gotten done attacking Aaron. Aaron was charging some attack of his own as Tali unleashed more volleys of lightning at the creature.

The pain jolted Raz out of shock. Her arm whipped forward and the sword neatly sliced off one of the "legs" that the creature's arm had formed. It writhed in pain and almost fell over.

Then Berhu arrived.

Leaving the bear to do his work, Raz turned back to the monster. If all of its limbs could function as separate foes....

They had to finish this quick. Ryan was counting on them to back him up when they faced the Duke.

The monster hissed as more lightning struck it. Putrid gray flesh sizzled and popped as thousands of volts of electricity raced through it. Snarling, it abandoned Aaron and leapt for Tali, the remaining claw outstretched.

The thing was fast, but Raz was faster, dashing forward with her sword raised. The runes on Thirst flashed with blue light as Raz cleaved through the warped body just above what would be the hips. Slick blood exploded everywhere, turned black in the red light from Tali's staff. The runes on Thirst drank in the energy until the sword was covered in a fine crust of blood dust, all the power drained away. A few more runes lit up on the blade.

Raz kicked the nearest half of the body away and went over to Tali, supporting the slim elf with one arm while simultaneously pushing her a little further away from the monster. Raz interposed herself between Tali and the dead demon.

"Be careful, it isn't over yet."

The body started moving. Subtle twitches, like muscle spasms after death. Suddenly the body sprang apart in four separate pieces. The two legs snapped and doubled over, bone and flesh creating a wicked scythe from the femur. One of these lunged at Raz.

The other arm transformed and became Aaron's problem. The torso was the worst yet. The ribs split open and opened wide like a pair of grizzly wings. The ribs crackled and bent, forming a row of tiny legs. Entrails edged with bone burst from the back, deadly tentacles that lashed a the sides in rage. The head turned toward Clair and hissed then charged her, the entrail-tentacles lashing at the walls.

Location: Morris Castle - Eastern Block - Near Throne Room

Fortunately, along the way to the throne room they didn't encounter anything worse than regular guards. But an oppressive feeling was starting to get stronger.

We're getting closer... Ryan thought as he noted that the hallway was starting to widen. They were leaving the service areas. The floor gained a more push carpet and the walls a couple of paintings and tapestries along the way.

"The Throne Room can't be too far away now. When we reach it, I think the Duke will likely have conjured up a few more demon-tainted guards but I'm not expecting--"

Something roared, quite loudly. It was a shrill, throaty kind of roar but it rolled down the hallway they were in like a wave and extinguished itself in a growl and gritting of teeth that sent a shiver up Ryan's spine.

"...anything worse than...that..." Ryan ended his earlier thought rather reluctantly.

"O...kay, I'm not completely sure what that was," he then said, rubbing the back of his neck. "But I'm guessing it can't be good."

Aaron Sohm

Aaron keep's his focus even though this beast split into 4 pieces, but they seem to mutate into bizarre things,Raz and Tali were busy fighting a couple bigger pieces.

"...Really...This thing isn't too bright..."

Aaron's Darkness Spell is fully charged now,The orb growing to the size of Aaron's head.As soon as that Arm lunged at him he'd counter and vaporize it.Even though it split its small enough to get Vaporized by this.

"So then," Clair remarked as the arm began moving and attacking Raz. "It isn't vulnerable to the physical." She leaped back as the abomination lunged at one of her companions so as not to get damaged by the flailing.

Sparks danced at her fingertips as she threw her arm into the air, a brown substance similar to leather solidifying through the sparks which now came together near the leather-like cylinder she gripped, dancing into a frenzy of fire and molten energy as a dark substance enveloped her hands and was gone, signifying the protection she had erected against her own magic.

"Let's test something else then!" she giggled with relish, and cracked the whip of fire on the ground, a snap echoing through the halls as she smiled viciously, whipping the weapon at the creature's chest without so much as a second thought. "Scream for me," she laughed, feeling the bloodlust envelop her.

Tali didn’t want to admit it, but she was very glad she wasn’t alone at the moment. No matter how many times the beast was struck, he either would get back up or the part lobbed off of him would start moving all on its own. It was terrifying, but Tali would be damned if she let anyone see that. Raz was helping Tali stand, which in all reality was a great thing, because as it was now her leg felt like snapping in half under even her own small weight.

Lightning also wasn’t appearing to do the trick. It seemed to stun it once it hit, but never for long enough for anyone to get in and finish it off. Aaron and Clair had their own problems, and as things were at that moment, Tali couldn’t help everyone. She kept trying to come up with ideas in her head, but with the space in the hallway being so small, there wasn’t much she could think of. If she couldn’t use fire, earth, water, or lightning due to being useless… she could use wind.

But wind wouldn’t do anything but affect everyone else there. It would only be a hindrance… As Tali was somewhat supported by Raz, she saw another part of the beast fly towards her. That’s when Tali thought of the perfect plan. “Raz, spit at the enemy! Just do it!” Quickly, Tali followed her own advice and spit over Raz’s shoulder at the enemy. As her (somewhat pathetic)loogie soared at the enemy, Tali froze it, used wind to push it harder and faster, and froze it at the last second as it soared through the air towards the monster.

If it hit, in theory it should go through the enemy while electrocuting him at the same time. Projectile loogies! I am such a genius! She thought. Meanwhile Berhu continued to growl and swipe at the arm he was currently fighting. Tali smiled as she saw him drooling over the arm in question. With a motion of her arm, she launched his drool at the enemy with wind, froze it, electrified it, and boosted it even further with wind.

While her plan was an excellent one, what she didn’t take into account was that it was practically four spells at once; wind, water, electricity, and then more wind. It took almost as much out of her as her fireballs earlier. She would simply have to use it wisely.

The torso squealed as Clair's whip tore into, sending ragged pieces of flesh flying in the air. It screamed. It shrieked. The entrail-tentacles gripped the whip that wrapped around it but the dark fire only sizzled across the limbs. The chest sagged, spit up black blood from the exposed heart then stopped.

The arm being mauled by Berhu was ground to inanimate bits, twitching weakly at the bear's muzzle before limply dying.

Raz, meanwhile, followed Tali's instructions without hesitation. She'd worked with mages before in her training, and the greatest lesson they had to learn was to obey what the mage said no matter how bizarre.

Raz had also competed in spitting competitions with the other soldiers. When she wanted to spit, she could spit.

Watching the unappealing projectiles speed toward their targets, Raz had to raise an eyebrow appreciatively. "Very nice," she murmured. "I'm impressed."

((OOC: @Exocraet, this last blow should kill all of the remaining pieces, one arm and two legs that are still alive. Since it's your spell, I'll let you detail the destruction however you want, unless you'd prefer me to do it.))

The shrieking hurt Tali’s ears as the monster Clair was fighting slowly started dying. From the looks of it, Berhu was enjoying yet another meal as he finished off his arm. However, all of Tali’s attention was focused on something she never thought it would be focused on in her life: someone else’s spit. As Raz spit at it, Tali was working on turning into a weapon. Wind propelled it; she froze it, electrified it, and sent it straight through the monster’s brain. Did it even have a brain?

There was one final shriek as the monster slowly dropped to the ground. Blood and what Tali assumed to be brain started leaking from the hole that was now in his head. “How humiliating,” she whispered as she watched the thing die. “If I am killed in that fashion I would hate to tell others how I died in the afterlife… ‘oh, I was killed by projectile spit’… That is not the way I want to go out.” Tali leaned on her staff as to not hurt her leg.

The red light from the tip of her staff flickered just for a split second. It was a sign that she had used quite a bit of power, and that her leg was bothering her much more than she was letting on. She could feel it swell up by the second. Berhu started walking his way back to her. He still had some blood dripping from his mouth as he stopped in front of her. She felt like hitting him for stepping on her leg, but she could never bring herself to harm him. Instead, she simply pet his head and turned to Raz, “Can you help me up? I do not think I can manage with my leg like this…”

"Sure thing." Raz wiped the blood off her sword with a rag that hung from her belt for just this purpose. She sheathed it then grabbed Tali by the waist and lifted her up on Berhu with ease. The elf was surprisingly light.

Raz glanced at the carnage. Both the other limbs had been destroyed by the residual effects of her spell. "Nice spell. Never seen it before. I'll be happy to fight with you any day, sister." She turned back to Tali. "Are you alright? Let me take a look at your leg."

Raz began gently probing the leg in question. She had some basic medical training but not much. Her purpose had always been for killing, not healing. "Do you feel a very sharp, pin-point pain anywhere?"

Cerden, Ryan, and Leo
Location: Castle Morris - Eastern Section - Grand Hall/Before Throne Room

The group proceeded out of the Cell blocks, and went on to trial into a much more wider, and rather expensive-looking set up. There were paintings of old men wearing dresses, and cloths that had about one-million dollars worth of jewels imprinted in them . Cerden didn’t quite like the Duke and didn’t even like what he was doing here, but if there was one thing this man knew, he knew how to live in style. I should get me a castle one day.

Cerden and his wild imagination was cut off as he heard a loud roar that echoed through the halls. He knew that they were close to the Duke, and if that thing was waiting for the group(Ryan, Cerden, and Aedan), then that must mean Duke is desperate, and must be using this as a last-ditch effort. It’s too bad that his efforts aren’t going to work in his favor.

“Soooo, Ryan, there’s no chance of that loud, almost itimdating roar of being your stomach, right?” Cerden sarcasm knew no bounds. Of course that wasn’t Ryan’s stomach. It was some monster waiting for the entire group, and it sounded hungry..

Hearing Raz and Tali seem to beat the piece's that attacked them,Aaron looked back at them dropping his guard for a moment the piece that was in front of him lept at that chance,Aaron Chuckled as it fell for the bait and aimed his sword thrusting it towards the piece, the Black Orb absorb's the piece devouring it before being dispelled by Aaron.

"Oh well, that was a pain in the ass..Glad I didn't have to use "That" Attack yet...It could have injured everyone in here.."He said to himself calmly.

"Is Everyone Alright...?"He Asked calmly before looking back at Raz and Tali

He proceeds to move down the stairs to where they were, seeing the cinders of what remained of that "Thing".

"We should move if that thing was down here, there could be even more..or worse if we stay in this cramped space.."

((OOC:Short post but just till we get moving again))
