“Oh, you know you won’t get to catch up now, don’t you?”

Rune smiled as she shut her eyes, ignoring the commotion as more reinforcements joined the fray. The spell was now complete, and these meddlesome third parties could do naught against her spell. The crimson aura around her targets intensified, till it became somewhat blinding. “Slowly, but surely. A brand new future awaits. Mass Teleport,”Rune muttered, completing the incantation of her spell.

Opening her eyes, sheonce again smiled as she saw the aura engulf her and then the surroundings began changing. Suddenly, they were thrust into some unknown magical dimension, where stars shot past at such amazingly close proximities. But this fascinating sight didn’t last long.

In the city of Hautou...

A cloaked figure paced about inside a building, his every steps underscored by uncertainty. He had been instructed to await their arrival, but certainly, he didn’t know if they were coming at all, for they were surprisingly late. Just as he was about to give up and leave the building, a magical circle rapidly formed on the ground, signaling the arrival he awaited.

A dazzling flash blinded the group as soon as they were thrown back into reality. Rune landed rather skillfully, managing to stay on her feet. After all, this wasn’t the first time she attempted teleportation. She was far used to it, and even more so for the flash of light that never failed to appear towards the end of every teleportation.

As such, she was the first to notice her fellow Bithian, Thomas. “Hello, Thomas. Have you been waiting long?” Rune asked politely, flashing a soft smile as she greeted him.

Thomas was one of the stronger members of the Bithia. Known amongst the inner circles of the Bithia as ‘the Thunderbolt’, he was particularly well known for his powerful lightning spells. However, he still stood below the leader of the Bithia, Alissa, and even Rune herself- thus his humbled attitude.

“Uh, greetings, Lady Rune, I’ve been waiting, and I’m pleased to finally receive you.”

Thomas bows as he says this, recovering only to address Akira condescendingly. “Hm, Akira, I hope you have served Rune well,” He says as he opened the door out of the building. “Please, my Lady.”

Rune almost wanted to slam this guy. She hadn’t been so interested in such formalities, and certainly, she didn’t want to make it awkward for her companions. After all, she hadn’t been addressed like this before, even back then with Akira. The girl almost sighed aloud as she waved the others along. “Please follow. I have something important to tell you all.”

Without making sure they followed, Rune walked out of the building, and into an empty space. The building was apparently located in the slums. However, the people that were present definitely seemed nothing like slum dwellers. Cloaked like Thomas, it was evident these people were Bithians as well.

The slums in this part of Hautou often saw such mass gatherings, as the buildings around obscured the people from the view of the main streets. As such, the Town Guards who always plied only the main streets never quite realized these gatherings. The inhabitants of the slums themselves either seemed too unreliable trust whenever they report, or they were merely silenced by the less patient Bithians.

Nevertheless, this was a safe haven. Rune stopped beside Thomas, nodding to him to give him permission to pass down the order to return to the Bithian Headquarters.

With that done, she turns towards the building to await her companions.

"Are you sure it wasn't the Bithians?"

"I am positive, though I would not be surprised if Bithian Extremists would want to do the same as well." Mary said calmly.

"I don't think the Bithians could do too much harm. All they've been trying to do is use magic to help our world."

"There are rouge ones out there.
I've decided that I'm going to live a free life. A life away from this royalty nonsense."

Mary for once thought about Laleth's decision. How nice it must've been. To live a life free from duties and royalties. It made her think of what duties she would've wanted to achieve. Yet there are still duties that she wants to fulfill.

"Hehe! Freedom!
I've wanted that for a long time. I want to see the world!"

Mary heard a noise from within the forest. Calling out to Sophia "Sophia, get back, quickly." She did as she was told ran back over to her side. Getting a bow and pulling out an arrow, she aimed at where she heard of the sound. A pair of Thelmacain soldiers on patrol.

"Your Majesty, lets take them both out at once, less commotion that way."

Revilo had been engulfed in light. He's eye's closed shut as he felt himself being whirled into another place. In a flash he felt even through his eyelids, Revilo opened them and fell flat on the ground, rolling twice before stopping. He picked himself up groggily opening his eyes to where they were. The sky was still dark but they were in a city.

Revilo felt as if the place was familiar. He could see a castle, but it was signifiantly different from the one in Idunblime. "This is Hautou...City of the Rebels" he murmured as a strange man came over to greet the Bithian who teleported them.

“Please follow. I have something important to tell you all.”

He followed the girl unwillingly. What else could he have done? He was missing his sister and what's more, he was probably a wanted fugitive. Now that his power had been seen he would probably be wanted, never able to work again in his home. Never able to provide as much fo r his sister as he could. Sophia...Hopefully she was somewhere safe.

They were now in a slummish part of Hautou who were filled with robed figures. The last time he checked the rebels of this town didn't wear robes. These people must have been some others. He had finally caught up with the girl as she waited for them.

"What's this all about? Why are we here? You Bithians shouldn't be near the Thelmacain Continent if you know what's good for you."

He studied this girl. She looked quite gutsy and had a certain gleam in her eyes. It made Revilo frown even more. He was annoyed but helpless at the same time...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Dammit!" Kethos muttered as the fugitives escaped. "At least tell me you two got the princess."He said frustrated while looking at Reyu and Remus.

"All unit's scout the nearby towns. They can't have gotten too far." he commanded soldiers nearby.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Laleth quickly drew her bow and shot an arrow at the patrolling guards. It hit one square in the neck. He would surley not survive the night. Laleth lowered her bow at an instant. She seemed to have poured resentment into her last attack and regretted it immediately. Killing was the last thing she wanted to do, but for now, anything was possible. She waited for Mary to make her move on the remaining Thelmaa soldier...

==============================================================

It felt as if the world had changed that night...And our fates along with it. Mary seemed to have been ordered to get me. She didn't seem much like a kidnapper. Sophia didn't seem like a bad person either. In fact, you told me, remember?

Chapter 2

Raine, the assassin for hire walked up to the throne room of Haotou. She was going to see the leaders of the rebel group against Thelma: The Queen. Rain's purple hair got many odd glances before she quickly passed through. Running up stairs. Fast walking toward the Queen's chamber...

Queen Aschson Thelma sat upon her lovely bed surrounded by maidens brushing her long black hair. She was pale and tall, with a perfect shape cloaked in a beigle silk robe. Fruit sat uneaten in a dish lying upon the bed nearby her. Raine easily walked in. As the Queen spotted her the maidens rushed out to give the two privacy. "So?" the Queen began.

"So, the operation is yet to fail. The room was empty when I got there. Luckily there haven't been reports of her dying. Maybe one of our men got her." Raine reported.

The Queen bounced back on her bed. "Ah that's nice." she said. " Well I guess we just wait then.

As soon as Laleth shot the first guard in the neck, Mary shot the second guard in the same exact spot, right in the vocal cords. The guard fell on his back, death coming to him as soon as he hit the ground. Putting the bow around her arm again, Mary walked up to the dead soldier. She told the two, "Stay right there, I'll be back in a moment." Taking his arm, Mary dragged the soldier up into the forested area, hiding him behind a tree so that no soldier would be able to find him and alert any more patrolling guards.

After doing the same for the second dead guard, Mary walked back onto the path. "Alright, Hautou is up ahead. It's not that far from where we are."

"Yay!! Race you to the city!"
Sophia said, walking up ahead.

Mary gave Sophia a weak smile before heading up herself.

Akira

"Hm, Akira, I hope you have served Rune well,”

If one paid attention, they would have noticed the slight narrowing of Akira's eyes at Thomas' words. She would fight for her friends and her comrades and their cause, but the way he had placed it was insulting to her honour. Only through total self control and iron will did she stop drawing her sword and held her tongue.

“Please follow. I have something important to tell you all.”

Inhaling deeply Akira swallowed her emotions and pressed on after Rune. They were in a rather poor area of Hautou, but it did not bother Akira. If one trusted their skills, then there were no place in which one would feel insecure. Akira had rarely come to Hautou, mainly staying around the Thelma Capitol branch, so this are was somewhat foreign to her. Rune stopped in front of a building, before turning to them. Assuming this was HQ, Akira stopped besides Rune.

One of the ones gifted with magic had teleported Saethos and the others. He had no clue where he was now, but he was safe, and therefore, thankful. But he was soon informed by the male stranger, mentioning the name of the town being Hautou. Apparently it was a place for rebels to gather. Someone had no approached the group with a something to say. Apparently it was important. Saethos followed willingly, not knowing what lay ahead of him.

From the looks of the area they were in, money didn't seem to be an abundant thing. No matter, Saethos decided to follow these people now...

OOC: Not much for me to do here...

((OOC: Oh, don't worry, you'll have something to do soon enough))

As soon as the demon joined the group, Rune glanced over her shoulders at the remaining Bithians. Her eyes met some of the main leaders amongst the mass that had gathered. They nodded as soon as their eyes met, and, almost in coordination, they turned to address the Bithians under them. There was some brief murmuring before a brief moment of silence, and then chanting.

Hearing the familiar chants, Rune looked back at her companions, and began to address them. "Well, I think it's about time."

The edges of her lips curved into a small smile. As if in response, a chilly wind stirred. "I don't think you know... But I'm with the Rogue Bithians... In fact, I'm the leader of the Rouges," Rune said, her smile fading away as she stared at Revilo.Her gaze shifted over to Saethos now, then Akira.

What would Akira be thinking of her now, she could only wonder. 'Perhaps, I might have felt a lot more resentment if I were younger...' She thought to herself, watching Akira with an apologetic expression.

Her expression hardened. "As I said. It's about time. A choice has to be made."

The other Rogue Bithians behind them teleported away just as she says this.

"Especially you, Akira. Will you side with me? Or will you join Alissa?"

She chuckled as she said this.

"And, Mister Saethos... Thank you for nabbing that thief... This is an affair we the Magicked, the Agima, have to deal with... I won't stop you if you leave... But I can't act nonchalant if you go against us."

Ironically, she says this with a weak expression. She would have favored a fearsome glare, but it was out of character.

"We, the Magicked, as humans have named... Or rather, we, the Agima, as we were once known as. We have been lying dormant for far too long... Or maybe, I'm the one who have stayed out of sight for far too long."

Rune glances over to Thomas, walking towards him as he chanted a spell. It was a spell, filled with lightning bolts characteristic of his specialty.

"Humans have ruled over us since that war... The devastation... The carnage... How unfair for them to start the war! Their tyranny knows no bounds, does it...? Even now, they intend to exterminate us? Foolish creatures."

Sighing, she pushed the gloomy images out of her mind.

"Milady, the spell is complete."

"Indeed? Please, allow me to finish with them."

Thomas nodded, and turned to face the group, his expression stern, and his eyes watchful. Rune raises a hand, looking down at it, admiring her youthfulness.

"I shouldn't be here. But I am, I have lived... But I've talked enough. What will you do?"

Thinking for a second, Saethos had to figure his options. He only really had three options. Stay here, join the humans, or go home. He already knew his decision at this. He looked Rune in the eyes and began to speak, "Another war? Sitting home would be pointless, and in the midst of war, knowing the humans, if I stay there, they'll begin to think I'm a spy or something and probably order me assassinated." Looking around him and studying the faces of the people, he then though of another thing.

"The last war you lost because of some devices the humans made to stop magic."

Saethos pulled out his blank index card and thought about that as well. "My abilities aren't magic, so I could be a real help. I side myself with who I consider to be the underdogs of life, and you have fewer people. Granted your power might be more, but I'm sure the humans also prepared for such a happening. As of now, I am on your side." Once again thinking back at the castle and all the happenings there as well, Saethos closed his eyes...

"I made a magical friend today, and I guess I'm gonna have to make more" He said with a now cheerful smile and friendly look.

"Well, I think it's about time."

Revilo stared in wonder. What was going on here? Why were the robed people speaking to each other like they knew something. Something was not right. Revilo kept his eyes peeled. "I don't think you know... But I'm with the Rogue Bithians... In fact, I'm the leader of the Rouges,"

This news came as a shock. Revilo stared at her in silence. She resembled a little girl maybe a few years younger than him. She couldn't have been the leader of the rouges...The rouges...THE ROUGES! It came to him now. The criminal branch of the Bithian people. Revilo knew it quite well. He braced himself. "As I said. It's about time. A choice has to be made."

The other rouges disappeared at an instant. Revilo turned behind in an attempt to see where they went. He turned back towards rune while drawing Saksore from his back. The demon crafted sword glinted in the night, but Revilo used it in a defensive stance. What was going on? He had been tricked! "Especially you, Akira. Will you side with me? Or will you join Alissa?"

So the other female's name was Akira...."And, Mister Saethos... Thank you for nabbing that thief... This is an affair we the Magicked, the Agima, have to deal with... I won't stop you if you leave... But I can't act nonchalant if you go against us."

And the Demon's name was Saethos...Revilo had begun taking mental notes. He would never side with an organization such as this. The rouge "Agima" were a troublesome bunch.

"Humans have ruled over us since that war... The devastation... The carnage... How unfair for them to start the war! Their tyranny knows no bounds, does it...? Even now, they intend to exterminate us? Foolish creatures."

Revilo paused her words were true. "What are you planning? Any rightious person would never side with your kind. Magic is against the law."

"I shouldn't be here. But I am, I have lived... But I've talked enough. What will you do?"

"Not happening. You go fufill your own dirty work." Revilo's green eyes were full of annoyance and possible hatred.

Akira

Akira had a sinking feeling when Rune began. Her lack of knowledge of the place Rune had taken her had already given a sense that they were not regular Bithians. Her suspicions were correct. These were more a more radical branch of Bithians, advocating aggressive methods rather than the more peaceful minded Alissa. That was the problem. Akira was attracted to Alissa due to her more peaceful approach. Akira was more willing to fight, but had understood that a full blown war would confirm the Thelma suspicion of Bithians. The most troublesome dilemma was that Akira was not ready to throw her relation with Rune away like disposable trash. For once, Akira stuttered wordlessly and lost her formal composure.

I...i.... am unsure....i cannot advocate total aggression. We'd be confirming them their worst fears... I feel that i am unable to join your cause...

There was a moment pause. Akira still felt a guilt in her decision.

However, please do know, that if you ever need help as a friend or wish to speak across factions, i will be there. I am truly sorry...Rune....

Akira turned and faced away from the group, hiding her face of indecisiveness from them, She bit her lower lip in frustration forcing herself to calm her mind and think logically. A heart in turmoil would bring about unwise choices. Her heart and mind began to settle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remus
"Dammit! At least tell me you two got the princess."
Steeling himself for what may come, Remus let the commander know of the bad news.
Much apologies, but we have failed in the mission. Another assassin had gotten to her before us and rather than finishing of their task, seemed to let her go and the castle was alerted.
There was other opportunities, or so Remus thought. Little did he know that she had fled the castle already, but a part of Remus sighed with relief. He did not have to shoulder the burden of murdering someone for his own beneficial gain.
What now, commander? Do you wish for us to scour for the Bithians with the other guards?
"My abilities aren't magic, so I could be a real help. I side myself with who I consider to be the underdogs of life, and you have fewer people. Granted your power might be more, but I'm sure the humans also prepared for such a happening. As of now, I am on your side."
The words cut through the air. Not they were divided, only Rune had a fleet of minions ready to cause havoc. Revilo's eyes averted away from Rune onto the Demon. Taking out his rapier The Lovely Maiden in hie left hand, while still gripping the Saksore Sword in his right, he poited it towards the demon. "So I guess you have chosen their path then." he said nodding towards Rune.
After this the other Bithian woman spoke. I...i.... am unsure....i cannot advocate total aggression. We'd be confirming them their worst fears... I feel that i am unable to join your cause...
Revilo stood silent. He had at least one ally on his side. But apart from that he could see the pain on her face. He could see guilt within her eyes, her face, even her body language. However, please do know, that if you ever need help as a friend or wish to speak across factions, i will be there. I am truly sorry...Rune....
She had been a victim of deception, tricked by Rune. As she turned away, Revilo put his rapier away and walked over to her, a frown upon his own face. "Look" He said roughly placing his hand upon her shoulder. "Letting your emotions get to you is the number one way to die. Keep your guard up, stay sharp, don't loose focus. She was never your friend."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Alright, Hautou is up ahead. It's not that far from where we are."
Laleth sighed. They finally made it. "Yay!! Race you to the city!"
She smiled. Lighthearted moments like these were something she hadn't experienced since she was a small girl. "Not if I can beat you to it!" She happily smiled as she ran after Sophia to the castle town.
Hautou's castle was smaller than the one in Idunblim but it's population was nice. She made it to the castle walls before walking through the gates into the city. The path leading to the castle was not far now. Laleth had never been to this town but she had heard of it's involvement with the rebels. "It's so big!" Sophia said excitely as she walked to gaze into the window of a nearby dimly lit building.
"This part of the town looks run down..." Laleth spoke.
They clearly stood in the slum part of town as the nicer parts were further in the city. "Where do we go now?" she asked Mary.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reyu cringed as Remus told Kethos the bad news. She hoped he didn't hate her. Commander Kethos stared intently at the emptying of the Idunblim streets. His intercom buzzed and he answered it. Static voices came through and Kethos shrugged it off. He really didn't feel much like doing anything else for the night. "Head back to base Generals Reyu and Remus." He saw medic soldiers on the way to aid civilians and soldiers from the harsh battles in the city. "I just got a new mission for you two."
With that the general tended to his wounds by himself. Reyu sighed. She was angry that she failed a mission. She had never failed! Was she now a failure in the eyes of Kethos now? She would perish at the thought. A smile curved upon her face as she moved toward Remus. "Lets head back. If we're lucky we'll catch a bunch of Bithians or unruly demons." She said walking towards the roof exit. "More blood for the blood god either way..."
After witnessing the mixture of hostility and sensativity just by the words of the people around the newcomer, Saethos was surprised. He looked at Akira, seeing how troubled she was.Watching the reactions of the other two, Saethos was more interested in Akira. After she had turned around, Saethos put his hand on her shoulder and said, "Hey, doing as your heart's desire is the best thing anyone can do." He wore his usual smile, but his eyes were slightly more empathetic this time. "It works both ways, you need something from a friend, even though we just met, give me a holler." As he said this, his eyes closed in a cheerful manner. This was just how he was.
He then looked at the other man. "And as for you, yes I have. I can't explain why, but I have to. It involves some things from my past. But that's not all. The humans have a sort of 'racism' for us demons, So maybe I can show them how some of us are. I'm the type to avoid bloodshed and make my way through everything peacefully, but nothing has worked. Maybe there is something I can do..." Saethos began to think, then realized that he was just rambling.
He looked over to Rune and spoke, "Think the other Bithians will be cool working with a winged demon?"
"This part of the town looks run down..."
"This is the slums. The city center is the more developed part of the city. It's also where all the nobles live."
Mary paused as she stopped to see Sophia looking through the window. "It also divides the line between rich and poor, those who have full rights, and those who have none."
"Where do we go now?"
"Our Base is in an abandoned warehouse over there."
She pointed to a warehouse. Surprisingly, it didn't look run-down. "It was abandoned recently, so you don't have to worry about anything that would injure any of us. Come on, I need to introduce you to my leader." Mary began headed out towards the warehouse.
Rune sighed inwardly. Her expression remained cool, stern, almost uncaring, but her eyes seemed to flicker. She was glad to have gained an ally, even a demon, but nevertheless the other two disappointed her somewhat, Akira in particular. Her eyes fixed on Akira, as an unexplained sadness filled her heart.
"If that is the case... I'm sorry."
Glancing over to Thomas, she nodded briefly. Then, she walked over to Saethos and placed a hand on his shoulders.
"Well, it is time for us to leave, new friend. I assure you. The other Bithians would be fine. Or at least, I'll make sure of it."
Then, lowering her voice to a barely audible whisper, she added,"But..."
Looking into his eyes, Rune sighed softly again,"Sorry, I'll continue another time."
Then, she turned to face both Revilo and Akira, as Thomas stood between the two pairs. "Akira... Don't bother. A bright future awaits for us. Those that stand in the way of change have never quite survived. If you stand in our way, I'm sorry, but you'll not be seen on this earth again."
She gulped before continuing,"Therefore. Akira. You are now an enemy... An enemy. Remember that well. Enemy. Yes.. Enemy."
Clenching her fists, she unintentionally tightened her grip on Saethos' shoulders. "Sorry, but let us leave now. We have to go."
Muttering a teleport spell, she released the spell that Thomas had helped cast on her. A bolt of lightning struck the position the two once were, and in an instance, they were taken to their destination: Ronafure village.
Shock! by Hitoshi Sakimoto
Many had died, even before we got involved. The Bithian's were a faction of magical people who used magic for their own purposes. Some to create good, others to spawn destruction. These were a people who had been dealt a drastic hand in life, but sometimes I wonder if they had even known of where their power came from. Where the energy inside of us all had spawned thousands of years ago with the mana of life...
"Alissa? Alissa! Excuse me."
A tall woman dressed in light blue robes and silver blonde hair stood staring out of the window into the dark night. She had been awake all night from trying to convice others about the positive effects of magic. She could hear a young woman entering her dark room and she nodded while the woman bowed. "You should really get to sleep, we can work on summoning the Daos tomorrow." the young woman said with concern.
"I can't sleep, not when salvation of this land is so close." Alissa spoke in her usual trance like voice. "The tower of spirit's keeps calling to me stronger and louder every night. I can barely sleep most nights."
"Oh Lady Alissa, there's plennty of time for that. This world can wait, for attempting to summon Daos every day will do nothing but drain you of your power." The young woman said as she stood close to Alissa in front of the window now.
"You can see the spirit tower from here..." Alissa started. "The peak poking out from the forest."
"It looks rather menacing in the dark. But if the Daos finally return..."
"They shall return to save us all from our sinful deeds." Alissa spoke still gazing trancelike out into the night which was beginning to lighten up a little bit. "Even if it takes a while I'll do whatever I can to summon them once more to save Agia."
A silence filled the air for a moment before it was broken by the young woman. "I suppose when you look at everything that has happened so far the world needs alot of saving. As far as violence and the harsh Thelmacain rule. Along with the racism and hate every shows towards each other. The wars in the past and fighting will be stopped once they are summoned right?"
"Yes, yes, and the day is coming. Soon the Spirit Tower will unlock and the Daos will be summoned unto this world to protect us all from each other. And hopefully god can restore the land to it's proper state."
"That sounds beautiful Alissa" the young woman spoke as she turned to leave the room. "But we have word that rouge Bithians were spotted causing havoc in towns last night. Thelma soldiers have also arrested many people on account of knowing magic."
The young woman left the room and bowed good night before heading off. Alissa walked over to her bed in the dark room and sat down gently, not taking her eyes away from the tower. She could see morning sunlight breaking through the dark clouds. What a long night it had been and what a long day it would be.
(OOC: Kevin the Queen is an npc also so you can control her (she's resistance leader) And for now Sophia is gone.)
As they walked on Sophia could see robed people through the glass of the building. Forgetting the other two who walked on without noticing where she went, Sophia snuck into the building to spy on the robed figures. It seemed that they wer performing a spell. Sophie's eyes widened as the spell made the floor light up. She was around fellow Bithians who could do magic! These were her allies! "Heya!" she spoke as the other Bithians spun in suprise. As they did so the spell on the floor was completed and Sophia disappeared into blackness...She couldn't see, couldn't feel. She was out cold...
OOC: Time for this RP to come back to life, yeah booooyyyy!!!!
IC: Mary reached the warehouse, and knocked on the door. A small door opened and a pair of eyes was seen, looking at Mary and Laleth. The person said, "We unite as one..."
Mary responded, "...and fly away over reality." The small door closed and a series of locks were being unlocked before a door finally opened. "Welcome back, Mary." As Mary walked in she introduced her friend, "This is Princess Laleth Aires of Idunblim."
"Pleasant Tidings, Princess."
"Come, there is someone I need you to meet."
Mary said, and she traveled with the Princess hopefully following through the warehouse. As they passed, they saw a few other men and women pass through, they too were members of the Thelmacain Rebel Front.
Coming up on a set of double doors, the doors opened by themselves, and the pair walked in. "Ah, child. I am glad that you have returned safely. Did you retrieve the princess?"
"Yes I have, your Majesty."
Mary bowed down in front of the Rebel Leader.
OOC: Im going to imagine i can get to Ronafure pretty fast. Dont want to waste time travelling. Ill arrive at the Bithian Base in the morning. Sorry for slight G-mod. i want to get things on the way. Also, take control of the maid and take Akira to Alissa when you want to.
Akira
Akira was expecting it, but to hear Rune say it in such a dead end way did hit her core.
"Letting your emotions get to you is the number one way to die. Keep your guard up, stay sharp, don't loose focus. She was never your friend."
Perhaps. I would like to think otherwise but....we should depart.
She steeled her emotions and squashed her emotions to the corner of her heart and her mind. Psychologically unhealthy, but there was no choice. With ever grace and prim and properness, Akira strode out of the Rogue Bithian base, expecting an arrow or knife to pierce her back, but her heart throbbed on as she exit the alley way. It was still night, but that did not affect Akira. In fact, as a result, she could use her magic to get her faster to Ronafure to warn Alissa of the incident.
Mr Revilo. I will have to take your leave. I must inform Alissa. Rune and her faction could potentially burn us all. If you ever need me, i will be at Ronafure for a while. However, for better direction, take this.
From her waist, Akira pulled out a small long pouch about 15 cm in length. It was highly decorated black leather with a small gold dragon design near its base. She opened the pouch and revealed a small arrowhead with a small shaft, 12cm in total. Attached to its middle was strong, silk string, which she held and dangled the arrowhead. It swivelled slightly before pointing to Akira
This is a homing compass of sort. If you ever need to find me, just follow where it points. It homes in on my magic. However, should i die or break it off permanently, this will wear off. I wish you luck on avoiding persecution. I feel we may meet each other again. Farewell.
With that, Akira slipped off into the night and away out of the town. Working solo was the easiest. No one to consider but oneself. When she was sufficiently away from Hautau, Akira pulled out another pair of device, these were anklets with a pair of small wings at its back.
San no ichi, ni no gou, hachi no ichi....Kai.
The wings fluttered slightly and raised Akira ever so slightly off the ground. Bracing into a jump, Akira flipped her coat so the black side faced outwards and lept up high. Akira soared high into the air, arching forward almost 100 meters each step she took. Haste was needed. The dark would have to suffice as her cover.
------------------
By the time Akira had reached Ronafure, she was visibly drained. She had never used Hermes for such long distance and her staminia was visibly low. Still ever vigilant, she stumbled into the Bithian base when she was sure it was clear. When she walked in, several people, shocked to see her like that went to her aid, but was waved off.
I must see Alissa right now. This is matter of most importance that could completely destroy everything that we have built.
Akira grabbed one of the
maids that helped around the base, not letting go until she took her to someone that could take her to Alissa.
Remus
"Head back to base Generals Reyu and Remus. I just got a new mission for you two."
Ever the soldier, Remus stood at attention on instinct and saluted. He was a stick in the mud and very traditional. Remus heel turned on the spot and walked back out towards the exit with the more relaxed Reyu.
"Lets head back. If we're lucky we'll catch a bunch of Bithians or unruly demons. More blood for the blood god either way..."
If we run into any.
Truly, Remus was concerned for the girl's obsession with blood and violence, but he did not want friction between him and General Kethos' aide. His family was already on a rather precarious position due to him and if shutting his mouth on a lower ranked officer would help, he would do so. The duo reached their horses and quickly mounted before speeding away back towards the Thelmacian Military Base.
Thankfully to his luck, they met no demons or straggling Bithians. However, one time, when Remus stopped for a second to fix his stirrups and Reyu went ahead, Remus swore he saw a soaring shape in the dark sky. The clouds blocked the lights so he couldnt be sure, but Remus decided to ignore it and caught back up with Reyu. Upon arrival, it was beginning to become dawn.
Lets go freshen ourselves up and rest for a bit until we are summoned.
With that, Remus left Reyu and headed back towards his battalion's camp and his tent. He wanted to rid of these rags and get back in his armour
((OOC: PS. I did realize I should have been more clear with Thomas' purpose at the place. That, and I realize yet again I should have left Squee with something more to post about :\Oh well, here comes correction. Apologies for the slight god-mod. ))
Thomas advanced on Revilo, glancing over to Akira's retreating figure. "Now, you'll realize that I spare only those who are at least polite to Her Highness," Thomas says this mockingly, almost as if he didn't mean it fully as he watched Akira disappear from his sight. "Well, I guess that should be pretty obvious now? You're going to die here."
Raising his arms above his head, he began laughing maniacally. "I'm Thomas! The Thunderbolt! Now die by my bolts!" Several bolts of lightning strike the area surrounding Revilo in warning. Around Thomas, sparks began forming and cackling audibly as he persisted in his sinister laughter.
---
Meanwhile, Rune and Saethos landed on their destination. It was an open field, grassy and chilly. The moon hung high up in the sky overhead. " We're here at last," She noted aloud as she looked around. " My, Thomas may boast of really flashy lightning-based spells, but teleportation certainly isn't his forte."
Staring into the distance, she sighed aloud. They were on a hill some distance from their actual destination. Though, another visible detail was the liveliness of the place. There were quite a number of Bithians wandering around, but their businesses was something Rune knew.
"Well, let us hurry. We will have quite an issue to deal with soon enough, and well, thanks to Thomas, we were quite delayed whilst traveling through the teleportation void."
Her lips curved into a smile as she says this. Waving Saethos over, the two began walking down to Ronafure.
=======
"Sigh. We did take longer than we should have, but no matter," Rune muttered as she looked around her. The eyes of those around her held a glint that she responded to with a smile. Folding her arms, she called for Saethos to follow as she walked towards the village square. Life in Ronafure was usually slow-moving, but for today, it seemed, life was rather busy.
Then, a sight caught her attention.
"Akira?"
The girl didn't notice her, but she made her way into the village's main headquarters. Just as she did, several other Bithians approached Rune. "Milady! You're okay!"
Rune responded with surprise. "Indeed. But pray, tell me, why do you say that?"
"Why, when when we saw Akira in such a haggard state, we thought something had happened to you! She came back on Hermes, almost as if in a hurry. We tried to help her, but she waved us off."
"I see... Well, thank you for your concern."
"It is our honor, Lady Rune."
With that, the group dispersed, leaving behind Rune and Saethos. "Akira..." Rune sighed as she hissed Akira's name under her breath. "Why must you be here now... At this time?"
Her folded arms only tightened around each other as a visible frown broke out across her face.
"I'm sad, Saethos," She said, looking over to Saethos. "You will comfort me, won't you?"
Around her, activity suddenly became more lively as the Rouge Bithians emerged, with some other Bithians tied up. These were the Bithians that didn't agree to stand with Rune in her cause for world domination.
Standing, a lone figure flanked by the masses. Her hair of white flowed with the wind- the winds of change, it was. A sigh escapes her cherry red lips as she lets her arms fall to her sides. The signal has been given. The deed is done. Eyes of crimson stared at the main headquarters, that was the only obstacle left. And fall, it certainly will.
Yet, she sighs.
OOC: Lovin Aqua's theme :3
Laleth was hesitant to walk through. Never in her life had she known such a rebel front existed. She walked through the double doors behind Mary and almost gasped. "Lady-L-Lady Aschson?!" She knew the queen from one visit she had in her castle of Idunblim.
This queen was supposedly Laleth's aunt by blood. A sister to her mother. "How are you the rebel leader?"
At once Laleth was relieved. She had personally never liked the Thelma government, but she never rebelled against it. "Finally. I pray you would be safe and yet again Mary has perfectly accomplished her task."
"Why are you?....Why are you leading the rebels?! You could get in serious trouble!"
"Calm down now dear."
"Does Darel know? If he finds out-"
"Yes he knows my dear. And I would trust you to keep your silence as well." the queen spoke in a high manner as she strode over to a chair in the center of the room.
She was draped in a gray bathrobe but her formality and elegance didn't seem to leave her. This was normal for the queen. She was extremely laid back. Laleth would feel as if the queen was her favorit out of all the Thelma family. "Why? I know your purpose is to use me to take on the main Thelma government but..."
"'Why' you ask? My dear girl, you could know better than any of us." The queen said. "I want to get a say in things. I want to change our crumbling society."
Laleth kept silent. Her aunt seemed to be determined and she knew she could not stop her. "And for the sake of my sister...Before she died she did one little defiance to the Thelma's by falling in love."
Laleth hadn't known her mother. This information had no meaning to her. "Well I'm here, now what?"
"We can use you to replace the Lead Thelmacain king as ruler." The Queen stated. "You can then be used to give new order to our terrible state. Your mother knew this was the way also and was going to do this herself but...."
"She's no longer alive."
"Suicide, all because her plan didn't work as she thought."
"I know that, but...I don't want to be used as a pawn in your game." Laleth spoke.
"You have no choice." The queen said as she snapped her fingers.
Rebel troops from a room behind lined themselves by the queen, brandishing knives and daggers. Laleth gasped. "Lady Aschson! You wouldn't dare-"
"Oh wouldn't I? You are not cooperating with our goal for peace, so some forceful action might be taken."
Laleth ran behind Mary for protection. "Please, Mary, help me! You understand don't you?"
I must see Alissa right now. This is matter of most importance that could completely destroy everything that we have built.
Maidens surrounded Akira as she landed. "It's so early. Wouldn't you like some rest?" the maidens of the Bithian church asked as they followed Akira.
"You asked to see me?" Alissa spoke as she seemed to glide easily towards Akira. "I sensed your magical prescence. Is there something wrong? Is it Daos related?"
Daos....We hadn't known it at the time that they were what the Bithians were after all along. Creatures with powers snet to protect the earth. Melissa told me the story of a mana tree that used to be the source of a guardian's power. I wonder if Alissa had known the same thing...
Sophia awoke in a small cell. He hands were tied behind her back, her mouth gagged. She opened her eyes as her blurred vison became more clear. She was in a small wodden box, cramped. She tried moving her legs but they too were bound. Her spellbook in her pocket was completely gone. Was she a prisoner of war? She couldn't tell. She could see woods and tree's and a small village in the distance. Was it possible that she had been captured. A hooded figure of the Bithian group she encountered in Hautou had bent down to look at her. He smiled with a ghastly grin and she tried to scream but she couldn't be heard. His hand began to glowed with magic and a tear trickled down her face.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reyu sat in a bubblebath exhausted from her tiresome night. Her partner seemed quite stern. She wondered what he was doing. But more importantly she wondered what sire Kethos was doing right now. She so longed for him to join her in the warm soothing bath. She admired her general more than anything. Sure she would need a bit more battle training in order to be by his side at all times.
As she soaked a private came barging in. "Hey! Never disturb a lady when she's bathing!" She shouted as the man hesitated to come any closer.
"You have a message from General Kethos. An urgent mission has come up."
Reyu grunted but rose out of the bath, completely confounding the private. She stepped out and grabbed a towel to dry herself off. "Are you going to go already?" she shouted as the man scampered away.
Reyu pulle don her clothes anmade her way into the mission briefing tent. Why would they need to go on a mission this late at night? She entered the tent with Kethos and spoke. "Remus is being briefed on the same mission as we speak." Kethos said as she walked in. "Now this has to be urgent, but you are to hunt down and eliminate a well known Bithian."
"But Alissa is your sister!" Reyu spoke instantly.
"Not Alissa. You two are hunting a rouge Bithian. She's recently been seen in Hautou with a large amount of followers." Kethos said. "Alissa's name shall remain unsaid in this camp."
Reyu kept her mouth shut. "So can't this wait till the morning? It'll be about two hours until the suns high up in the sky."
"Bithian's can teleport Reyu. We need all the time we can get. The Bithian being hunted is brutal and so I need you two to go after her as soon as you can. Remus will have recieved instructions to meet you outside the base to assume traveling again."
"Are you coming to? This is so sudden."
"No I am not. I have been instructed to clean up the mess from earlier tonight. Just go and destroy the target before she can act."
"She? What's the target's name?"
"Rune"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Now, you'll realize that I spare only those who are at least polite to Her Highness,"
Revilo looked back up at a Bithian who remained behind. "Highness?"
"Well, I guess that should be pretty obvious now? You're going to die here."
He began laughing maniacally and Revilo's expressionless face became grim with anger. This man was annoying. He put his weapons away and listened on.
"I'm Thomas! The Thunderbolt! Now die by my bolts!"
Lighting bolts flew around him and Revilo remained unscathed and unchanged trying best not to let this man get to him. "You....are an idiot. I don't need weapons to deal with you."
At that moment Revilo ran towards Thomas and as he thrust his fist into what looked like a punch he actually created a portal beneath a tree in the Lael forest and an exit portal in front of his fist, having the tree push out towards Thomas. Although he never meant to do it, he had just done magic, something he never intended to occur. He stopped and looked.
If his powers went out of control now he could possibly hurt civilians. He could summon almost anything to crush the city. He couldn't live with himself if he did such a deed, so instead he began to plan an escape...
Laleth was indeed surprised that Queen Aschson of Idunblim was really the rebel leader.
"Finally. I pray you would be safe and yet again Mary has perfectly accomplished her task."
"I have, Your Majesty."
Mary said, bowing before the Rebel Leader.
Mary listened to the conversation between Laleth and Aschson. But she was surprised when she heard what Laleth said, "Why? I know your purpose is to use me to take on the main Thelma government but..."
"No, the Queen would never use people!! I know you wouldn't!"
Mary did not like seeing people being used. The Thelmacain government was known to make people do things they did not want to in order to ensure they maintain their Pax Thelmacania, their Thelmacain peace. Aschson said that she would never act against a persons will many times before. "It would be best to silence yourself, Mary."
Mary did as she was told, and the conversation continued.
"'Why' you ask? My dear girl, you could know better than any of us..I want to get a say in things. I want to change our crumbling society. And for the sake of my sister...Before she died she did one little defiance to the Thelma's by falling in love."
"Your sister?"
Mary did not know the Queen had a sister.
"Well I'm here, now what?"
"We can use you to replace the Lead Thelmacain king as ruler. You can then be used to give new order to our terrible state. Your mother knew this was the way also and was going to do this herself but...."
"She's no longer alive."
"Suicide, all because her plan didn't work as she thought."
"I know that, but...I don't want to be used as a pawn in your game."
Mary had a hard time believing it, Queen Aschson, the person who raised her, trained her and was devoted to her cause from the very beginning, was planning on using a young girl to further her own plans to rule the throne. Everything she was fighting for was a lie, Mary was deceived from the very beginning...
As Mary stared in shock, the Queen snapped her fingers and summoned her guards, brandishing knives and daggers.
"Please Your Majesty, don't do this!!!"
Mary pleaded with Aschson.
"Lady Aschson! You wouldn't dare-"
"Oh wouldn't I? You are not cooperating with our goal for peace, so some forceful action might be taken."
Mary stood there, the people who had taken care of her were now about to kill Laleth. Her hands began to tremble, "Please, I don't want to hurt an innocent person!!! Please!!!" Mary desperately tried to convince Queen Aschson to call off her attack.
"If you will not do as I say, then I will kill you Mary. Take care of them."
The rebel leader snapped her fingers and the Rebels all jumped towards the pair.
Mary and Laleth were surrounded, there was no way that she was able to defeat them all. For the first time since the night her parents died, she was afraid. She couldn't get to the knife in time, and in response, raised her right hand in an attempt to hold them back. "STAY BACK!!!" She yelled closing her eyes.
As soon as she yelled, Mary's hand shot out bolts of lightning at the group in front of them, the blast was nearly lethal to those closest to her, the rest were knocked back, some of them falling unconscious. Mary opened her eyes and saw what she did. She then looked at her hand, which still sizzled with electricity.
Aschson was not impressed, "I should've known...Just like your parents."
"My....Parents?"
Mary said, confused.
"Take care of them!!"
Aschson said.
Maybe it was fear that triggered what she did, maybe not, but she had to get out of there. Grabbing Laleth's hand, possibly out of fear, Mary quickly ran out of the warehouse.
