[RP] - Spirit Shards

As the fight ended, he felt the tremble of the ground around him, as the orcs, terrified, ran straight past him, with a look in their eyes, as if the ground was being swallowed up from behind them.

Ezelus waited till the area was clear, and saw Chuck and Celestia walk towards them, with a saddened expression on their faces, having just lost a team member, and so soon after starting their quest...

"And ya too old creature, get up" He was told, cracking his neck, then slowly getting to his feet....

"Fate wasn't too kind to Ferion, it seems." He said calmly, looking around the area, orc corpses scattered everywhere. Ezelus saw the orc that had hit him from behind, laying dead against a tree, and proceeded to head towards the corpse.

"This is the insolent whelp that hit me from behind... oh, how the fates have turned on you, hehehe.....time to pilfer"

Ezelus searched through the small ruck-sack for anything of use. Nothing except teeth used for rituals, and some gemstones, also used for the same purpose...

"The stones will come in handly, atleast...now to check the other side...." He said, shifting the orc onto it's stomach.

Ezelus opened what looked like a letter pouch. he cautiously opened the lid, and unscrolled the letter...

"WANTED: Group of 5 travellers heading from Eternus claiming to be the "Chosen ones." REWARD: Your weights worth in gold and fine jewelry.

MUST HAVE THEM ALIVE!!!."

Ezelus scrolled the letter back up, then looked at Chuck.

"Well, well.... looks like we're famous already, hmm?" closing his eyes, then throwing the scroll in Chucks direction, giving a small sigh, before standing back up and kicking the corpse in the face...

Celestia sighed. As a mercenary, she had no lack of experiences with people dying. Fortunately for her, was the fact that Ferion never got a chance to grow any closer to the group. That made his death much easier to withstand. A silent condolence was well enough to push him out of mind. Shifting her focus over to the other two, particular Vex, whose magical potential took her by surprise. Although he did mention something about it in the tavern, she was not expecting it to be true. Quite the contrary, she had actually thought he was merely boasting.

Nevertheless, it was not an issue she was against, so she kept mum as she glanced over to Chuck, then Ezelus. It would seem that the monstrosity was not dead after all – though he seemed very much dead before. Admittedly, she didn’t feel as much for when he fell, than for Ferion.

Still, at the very least, he was courteous enough to spare the snide remarks.

Vex let slip a small grunt as Chuck addressed him as mage, there was condescending tone to it. Almost with a sneer tone his voice he spoke to Chuck before he got out of ear shoot range. "You know I think I preferred it when you called me Vexy, so what's with the name change now? What don't tell me Mr.tall and mighty can't bring himself to work with people who can use magic." More anger seeping through his voice now more out of the fact that Chuck didn't even pay respect to their fallen comrade. Though he may not of knew him long the man died in battle, a warriors death and at least deserved a small amount of paid respect.

"Well deal with it pal, we were chosen by some bogus god who can't even bother to protect the ones he has chosen. To him we must be pawns if he will allow us to die so easily. Also what kind of man are you? Can you not even pay respect to a fallen warrior? We may not have know him long but he died in battle he deserves at least a small amount of respect."

As much as it sickened him to burn the body instead of doing a proper burial Vex turned his attention back to Ferion's corpse. Striking his sword into the ground right before the man he knelt down on his left knew while keeping his right knee bent. Then looking down toward his sword he closed his eyes, the sword began to glow a soft red hue. Soon enough a small flame was seen going from the tip of the sword embedded into the ground over to Ferion which slowly began to burn. Vex just stayed there kneeling until the flames went out
saying a small prayer to himself for the man before him.

His voice returning to normal he picked up a faster pace and walked past the group, turning his head he spoke "If you want to continue this foolish quest i'll be heading to the town up ahead, right now I can't bring myself to travel with the like of you." This last comment being directed at Chuck as his eyes narrowed, turning his head back he continued to walk on. Part of him wanted Chuck to try and stop him so he would have a reason to punch the man, the other part of him with what he was feeling he didn't know he was just getting to angry at the moment.

"You know I think I preferred it when you called me Vexy, so what's with the name change now? What don't tell me Mr.tall and mighty can't bring himself to work with people who can use magic."

Chuck rubbed his temple. His shoulder was aching from the wound he'd received from the Orcs arrow, his head was clouded, the last thing he wanted to hear right now was Vex's whining, specially now that Chuck had little respect for him. A magic user. No one in this group knew he was a knight, no one knew he went up against the Relucesco Mage Army and had half his platoon killed. He was not about to reveal it now, but vex was testing his patience.

"Would ya rather we buried him an' 'ad the Orcs just dig him up later?" Chuck asked with an annoyed tone. "This way he's now with tha planet. No one ca' do his body any harm."

Vex ended up doing as he was told, setting the corpse alight but not without a snide remark afterwards.
"If you want to continue this foolish quest i'll be heading to the town up ahead, right now I can't bring myself to travel with the like of you."

Vex then stormed off ahead of the 3 remaining chosen ones. He was obviously an emotional guy. Chuck just sighed, scratching his head. "Well, that was embarrassing..." he chuckled, trying to make light out of a dark situation. his mind then wandered to the letter that Ezelus pulled from the Orcs pocket.

"So them Orcs ambushed us tryin' ta capture us for a reward....." He thought a moment, why would the Lord want to capture them? Did he know about the shards and why would he want them? Chuck continued to walk along the roadside thinking.

"What do ya two make of it?"

"Don't know. Don't ca'e."

Was Celestia's simple answer as she approached Chuck. Coming closer, she glanced at his shoulder, and on realizing he was nowhere close to seriously hurt, she shrugged. "Gotta be mo'e ca'eful," said the lady, patting Chuck's shoulder softly. "I'll go catch up with lil' Vex."

Her natural team player attitude, a product of her experiences with mercenary groups and with death, was starting to kick in. Looking over to Chuck with a worried expression she failed to keep away from her face, she smiled weakly. To Ezelus, it was just an expressionless nod - professional and purposeful.

It would take some time for her to warm up to non-human creatures, especially one as sinister looking as Ezelus.

Jogging forward after Vex, she approached him wordlessly, tapping his shoulder. She didn't know what to say yet, but she figured letting him start would be the best way to go. After all, more often than not, at this point in such scenarios, the most affected loved to pour their woes out to someone who would listen.

Honestly, Celestia didn't know if Vex would be the type to do so, but she figured it would only be fair to try.

Ezelus continued walking along with the group, noticing Vex storming past everyone, sad and angry at the same time due to Ferions death. Ezelus shook his head then closed his eyes and sighed.

"This planet is a planet that revolves around war and darkness, If you can't handle death so lightly, then i suggest you turn back." He said calmly, opening his eyes again, noticing Chucks disturbed facial expression due to the letter he'd just read.

"If i didn't know any better, i'd say we'd been spied on. The only sort of people i can think of that would have the money for this kind of operation is........Royalty!" He told the group, thinking back on past events, to try and think of a time when something may have seemed "off".

Ezelus began to smirk, and shortly after, he could no longer contain his laughter and excitement. "Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! I've always wanted to know what it feels like, to kill royalty!"

The monsterous emotions that had been building up for so long inside of him, were slowly starting to surface, of course he wouldn't think of killing off his own team members..............yet.

After a few minutes Indigo had finally pulled himself together, and began to seriously mull over what had just happened. Assuming that his experience of the divine was legitimate and not a trick of the mind, the still somewhat dizzy warrior wasn't quite sure what he'd do with this new information. Obeying the god's wishes meant effectively sacrificing his own freedom, something he would detest having to do. Then again if the planet was facing destruction that would be the end of his life and his freedom, which was far worse than temporarily following orders from on high. Clicking his tongue in exasperation Indigo made up his mind "I'll go along with this 'holy' assignment for now" he thought, "though I'll not help destroy Reulesco on some damn god's whim".

That's when the scarred Umbrian noticed the symbol burnt into his palm; if he had not been staring at it intently perhaps he would have noticed the men sooner. There were three of them, or to be more exact there were two men, and the third man. If he had been paying attention, Indigo would have realised that the two men sitting together at one table, even though they had come in after, were clearly followers of the third man who was lounging on a window seat. In fact the normally vigilant warrior was so absorbed by the inexplicable marring of his palm, he did not notice the men until a fist slammed into his face.

Unfortunately for his attackers, Indigo was still a born warrior and as soon as the fist came in contact with his skin he began to move. His attacker was a man of similar height but a much stockier and bulkier build, with the powerful arms of a miner. To someone of the scarred wanderer’s power though, his strength was nothing, and though the fist hit his forehead with a thunderous crack he barely felt the blow. The punch hadn't even moved him, he had however already begun his counter-attack. Indigo’s right hand blurred across and struck the man’s forearm before he had a chance to retract it after he had swung his punch. The blow shattered his radius and ulna, and for anyone watching it would appear the miner’s arm had grown another elbow as his forearm, bent at an alarming angle

This was the first of the two blows the fallen champion would use to dispatch his first attacker; the second arrived in the form of a kick to his aggressor’s left knee. Indigo’s right foot rocketed out from beneath the table snapping the man’s leg at the knee, shattering the cap. As his opponent fell Indigo finally began to take in the situation. The cafe was empty bar Indigo himself, three other men, and a frightened young girl behind the counter. Of the three men, one was down, the second (who looked oddly similar to the first, ‘twins perhaps’ Indigo thought later) was currently moving towards the God’s chosen fighter in a boxer’s stance. The third however was the enigma, and remained lounging on the window seat, slightly shrouded in shadow.

Clicking his tongue once again, this time in irritation, Indigo decided he would dispatch the stumpy fool in front of him first. Boxers were one of the easiest opponents to take down, the general strategy was to approach them in a similar stance then strike them with a low kick. This was a strategy Indigo used with aplomb; with a slight tweak however. As he closed in the seasoned warrior snapped a kick up high rather than low, this would be an extremely risky move against a fighter of a similar level, but against a common miner it was brutally effective.
Even though he tried his best to hold back, Indigo still heard, and felt, the crack of ribs as he soundly struck the man’s breastbone. As the man staggered trying in vain to draw breath, his seemingly invulnerable enemy moved in rapidly and in one fluid motion threw him like effortlessly. The man sailed through the air, crashing through the window onto the street outside. Finally the third man broke his silence “My oh my, I heard the ex-champion was in town” he called mockingly from his window side perch. “I remember you wuz good in the day, and son you do not disappoint, maybe I’ll be seeing you around” and with that he was gone. Indigo momentarily considered following and killing the man, who was clearly involved in the pit fighting scene. He soon decided against it however, nothing good would come from it, only complications most likely resulting in his arrest.

Sighing softly he made his way towards the exit, tossing a few coins on the counter, for the girl shaking behind it

Smiling lightly as the fatigue began to fade, Lucia gently took Asher's hand and pulled herself up to a seated position, using her hands to support herself. "I'm fine now, at least for a while, once we hit the next town I think we'd best get a room and sleep, I imagine you'll want to freshen up too anyway, don't mind me taking a peek"

Even though still rather tired, Lucia tried to shrug it off with her usual jokes as she dragged herself back up to her feet, lightly using Asher's shoulders as a support before lifting her up too. "with any luck we'll be there before long and out of this monster area, least for the time being..."

Asher groaned as she helped pull Lucia up from the floor

"I'm fine now, at least for a while, once we hit the next town I think we'd best get a room and sleep, I imagine you'll want to freshen up too anyway, don't mind me taking a peek"

She gasped and frowned. "Lucia, really. Why must you say such things? They make things awkward" She huffed.

"with any luck we'll be there before long and out of this monster area, least for the time being..."

Asher wasn't going to argue with that. The faster they got out of this place the better. It looked as though it'd be a long journey ahead of them if they wanted to get to the next town as soon as possible.

The two women walked for hours, things hardly changed, there were a few Lupis scattered here and there but none of these seemed to be interested in the girls.

"Lucia.. would you teach me to use my bow...maybe?" the girl finally plucked up the courage to ask. "I mean... because you're so good at using all your weapons and back there.. I nearly got you killed because I can't even focus...I don't want to be a burden." She looked up at her companion as they walked with hopeful eyes

They were probably only a few hours away from Tempero now.

(OOC) Mortel, you can take us to Tempero in your next post if you like :) There will be tonnes of guards around and Gavin's character is also there

Celestia patted Chucks shoulder, shrugging his wound off like it was nothing, like she was telling him to harden up. He laughed a little. Men were whingers when it came to boo-boos and sickness.

"Aww luv, You're so cold." He called to her as she went to console Vex who had thrown a tantrum only moments before.

"This planet is a planet that revolves around war and darkness, If you can't handle death so lightly, then I suggest you turn back." Came the Wraiths voice. Chuck couldn't help but agree with him.

He grew up on this planet, a planet of death and destruction and war. If you couldn't handle losing people you cared about then you probably had no place here... though come to think of it, Vex did take on the traits of a Relucescian.

"If i didn't know any better, i'd say we'd been spied on. The only sort of people i can think of that would have the money for this kind of operation is........Royalty!"

Chuck remained quiet and thought about the psychopath's words. Celestia may not give a crap about who was after them but Chuck was too curious for his own good. He remembered back in the castle, over hearing the Lords words. Something about using an army of creatures, removing Humans from the world... he wondered if he knew about the Gods, the shards?? Well now he knew of them anyway.

"Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! I've always wanted to know what it feels like, to kill royalty!"

Chuck laughed, not quite like Ezelus though, just a normal hearty chuckle. He turned to the Hooded man and shook his head "Ezelus... ya are quite tha crazy one ya know that? It's a little scary, but I'm glad ta know ya'll smack those Royals if tha' try ta do anythin' stupid."

The group walked and walked for a few hours when suddenly the bottom of the Volcano came into site. It was the only volcano on the planet and living underneath it were the inhabitants of Coligo.

To get into the town you had to be let in through the 5 foot cement cellar door. It was made sturdy and strong and almost vacuum sealed to keep any lava out when the Volcano erupted, which was quite often.

Standing at the entrance was a knight. Chuck didn't recognise him, but he was wearing similar armour to him...

Shit.... He thought immediately, shrinking back. His armour was dirty with most parts missing but the same markings were seen. He'd hope his companions wouldn't be observant to notice. But still, there was no way he could go up to that guard and ask to be let in, for fear of being noticed.

"Hey ya, guys wait." He called. "Just in case tha guards and tha Lord are on some kinda mission ta capture us, I think it best we exercise precaution around 'im" He nodded towards the guard.

He then turned to Celestia. "Sweetheart, ya should charm him inta lettin' us in without 'aving him ask too many questions? It shouldn't be any trouble for ya?" He waited to see if she liked that idea or not.

"Unfortunately Ezelus is too creepy fer any guard to wanna negotiate with, an Vexy's too grumpy ta wanna help, it's up ta ya!"

Luckily there were now only 4 of them, the letter told guards to look out for a group of 5. That should work in their favour.

Walking on, forcing herself to stay awake and look after Asher. Lucia kept notice of their distance to Tempuro as they continued to walk, one of the few things keeping up her energy. Being lost in thought she didn't notice Asher at first.

"Lucia.. would you teach me to use my bow...maybe?"

Lucia should've figured it would come up eventually, though for Asher to want to still came across as a surprise.

"I mean... because you're so good at using all your weapons and back there.. I nearly got you killed because I can't even focus...I don't want to be a burden."

Lucia shook her head lightly and turned to Asher "You don't need to learn how to fight to not be a burden you know, if you weren't here it'd sure be a lonely trip. It's my pleasure to be able to protect a girl as cute as you" Lucia, as always throwing in the last comment to keep Asher on her toes

"But sure, maybe after i've had a long nap i'll give you some... Private lessons" Lucia let out a quiet giggle before lifting her arm to shield her eyes as she looked up "sometimes I wish the sun would go away for a while, it's really doing a number on my eyes right now" sighing grumpily she kept walking until the pair came into visual range of Tempero.

"I guess from here on out we should act natural, we don't exactly need to get a lot of attention right now, once we get inside we'll find an Inn and rest there for the day"

Celestia

Ultimately, even as Celestia moved to approach Vex, she realized she would either have to jog or to run to catch up - neither of which appealed. She opted to walk briskly, but its ineffectiveness was starting to show, more so as the group approached the cellar door that led into the town.

Forget Vex, she thought to herself, resigned to letting him cool off himself as she slowed down to let Chuck and Ezelus catch up.

"Hey ya, guys wait. Just in case tha guards and tha Lord are on some kinda mission ta capture us, I think it best we exercise precaution around 'im"

That was logical, until he turned to Celestia and spoke.

"Sweetheart, ya should charm him inta lettin' us in without 'aving him ask too many questions? It shouldn't be any trouble for ya?"

Here was the strange contradiction. Eying Chuck with a glint of suspicion, Celestia wondered about the reasons behind this idea. If it were as he says, then Celestia would be a known face as well. Why ask her to do the asking then? It was as good as him doing it himself.

"Unfortunately Ezelus is too creepy fer any guard to wanna negotiate with, an Vexy's too grumpy ta wanna help, it's up ta ya!"

What about you Chuck, she thought to herself.

"Su'e," She smiled, giving him a half-knowing, half-sexy wink.

Whatever it is, he must have his reasons. Celestia wasn't planning on questioning that. Not anytime soon anyway.

Walking to the guard, she first started by looking him top to toe. His armor looked somewhat familiar, but nothing interesting otherwise. She pretended to be interested though, and soon enough, the Knight was curious.

"What is it?"

"Hey, Mister Knight, a'e you wo'th as much as you' a'mo'?"

"Uh...?"

Celestia gulped. Although she was good looking, she almost never had to use her features as leverage.

"Look at me," She purposefully felt herself down, moving her hands down her chest and down her crotch. "Would you like a look at what's underneath those a'mo'?"

"W-w-wha... Uh...."

"Don't be shy... Tell me."

"Y-yes."

"Then, you will let me and my f'iends th'ough, won't you?"

"Uh, of course!"

"No tolls, no checks...?"

"Huh?"

His confused expression made Celestia wonder.

"Doesn't this checkpoint cha'ge a toll, or conduct checks and all?"

"Erm... No it doesn't... Erm. Actually, I'm supposed to look out for a group of 5, but clearly, it isn't your group."

"Wait, so you would have allowed anyone to pass th'ough?"

"Yes."

Celestia was speechless.

"Then, let us th'ough."

He turned and quickly signaled for the door to be opened. With that, Celestia returned to the group.

"H-hey! I thought I get to see yo--"

"No!"

Furious at the entire episode, she continued, snapping at the group as well.

"Come on!"

Vex thoughts were focused inward on himself right now still thinking back to what happened. Hell he knew what planet he was on but it didn't change the fact that he felt strongly on the matter. A comrade of theirs did and it seemed that no one else felt remorse, sure they didn't know him for very long but they were bound by a cause. He was suddenly snapped out of his daze by feeling a tap on his shoulder but by the time he turned around he realized he left the person, seeming to be Celestia behind.

While he neared the gate first before his other companions he stopped short. This time not to reflect on what just happened but where to go from here, he was wondering if it was best to stop in this town considering what just happened. Turning around to voice his concerns he noticed two things, first off was the most peculiar was Chuck acting strangely as they approached the guard and then it was Celestia walking up to the guard and obviously flirting with him though while acting to get by. Looking back to the guard it then hit him like being slammed into a brick wall, both the knights armor of the guard and Chucks bared a striking remarkable resemblance. Their markings were the same in the places where Chuck still had his armor on though his seemed faded and covered in dust. So it would appear that Chuck was a member of the knights, now that thinking a spy and traitor were among them he looked back at the guard and then Chuck with a glare crossing his eyes. Now he was even more weary of the man, maybe he was somehow responsible for the orc attack. Before he could say anything of the matter Celestia finished her act with the guard and snapped at the group to hurry up. Not wanting to try her patience since she at least tried to talk to him after the whole previous ordeal he hurried through the gate.

With most of everyone ahead of him he spoke up most of the anger gone from his voice he just said. "Well why you three figure out what to do next, I shall be going to the bar, want something to drink to take my mind off this crap." While not planning to drink much he was gonna drink some, except this time he wasn't going to act like a complete drunkard as he did the first time. However this was more of a ruse, he had a second hidden agenda with this. He was hoping Chuck would try and stop him this time, or follow him and Vex himself then was planning to confront him about the whole knight ordeal.

Waving off to the group he found the bar and went in, walking up to the counter he sat down and waved to the bartender. Sliding a few gold coins over the table he just simply said "Keep em coming for me and which ever of my fellows come on for how much this is worth." The bartender just seemed stunned as what he was handed and nodded his head. He bought three glasses and a large pitcher over and poured only one glass at the moment. Taking the glass once the bartender walked away he leaned back a little on the stool and began to sip on his drink. "Well at least this hit's the spot for now, now it's a question of what to do from here."

Outside the cafe Indigo was met by fifteen or so ragged looking men, presumably miners who had just come off a shift. The men were gathered around the now unconscious body of the miner, the mute warrior had just moments ago tossed through the window. Pausing for a moment, Indigo spun and began to wander down the street as inconspicuously as possible. He had barely made it ten steps when he heard the inevitable shout, "Excooooose me mate, but would you mind stepping back here?”. Though it was phrased as a question, there was no doubt in the wanderer's mind that he had any choice.

Indigo stopped and rose to the balls of his feet, but made not motions to turn and head back towards the men. Seconds later he heard the sound of footsteps, the man fanned out in a circle to surround him. Still, the scarred fighter stared straight ahead. There was no doubt in his mind that the man ahead of him was the ringleader of this little 'troupe'. All men had a smell around them, some smelled of fear, others had the smell of old decaying buildings, many smacked of blood, and the most dangerous had the intoxicating aroma of iron and wine. At least that’s what Indigo had come to believe, after a lifetime of beating men half to death.

The man in front of him was nothing special, his odour was that of a rabid dog, though he might try and hide it beneath the veneer of an amicable smile. Indigo had little doubt he couldn’t comfortably best the group, even if they all came at once. Doing that though, would surely warrant wide-spread attention. Indigo's mind was racing, “All I have to do is cripple the man in front of me so badly, that I break their morale". The thought flashed hot in his mind, and before his thoughts could keep up, his body began to move. Raising his right hand to his lips, Indigo blew the grizzled miner in front of him a kiss.

It was all the provocation the man needed; with a snarl he leapt forward swinging his right fist with surprising speed. The force of the man’s punch (whose name was Reinhardt) would most likely knock most men out; perhaps even put some in the morgue. For an average pit fighter it would be like a light slap, for Indigo it was like a small child’s tantrum. He caught the punch with his left hand as easy as he would catch a small toddler's. Indigo's hand closed like a vice grip his fingers tearing into the man's hand as if he was grabbing a stick of cool butter. The man cried with pain for a moment, until the wanderer jerked his hand suddenly to the side snapping the man's forearm.

By now Reinhardt had given up all hope of even attempting to land a blow on his antagonist's person, he was currently hoping to remain alive. His hand, he was fairly certain was maimed permanently. "Please, I’m suh suh sorry, plea-". His plea was abruptly cut off as a foot snapped his right shin, and was followed up by a knee crushing the ribs on his left side. The battered miner attempted to raise his left hand, then he felt a fist plough into his right shoulder crushing it, and a soft snap as his collar bone broke. The entire time his right hand remained trapped in the shark like grip of Indigo. Finally he felt a hand grip his right arm beneath the shoulder, and all of a sudden the world turned up side down as he flew through the air. A moment later there was a sickening thud and Reinhardt's world went black.

By now Indigo was breathing heavily and his ire was up, he stared down his remaining potential aggressors. For a moment he thought they intended to rush him, but then like a breaking wave the group dispersed. None went to the aid of their beaten and broken leader. When the last lackey disappeared, the now semi-exhausted fighter allowed himself to catch his breath on a nearby bench. He hadn't expended all his energy, but his chest was feeling tight and his body was beginning to burn dully

"You don't need to learn how to fight to not be a burden you know, if you weren't here it'd sure be a lonely trip. It's my pleasure to be able to protect a girl as cute as you" Came Lucia's response to her question.

Asher wasn't really satisfied with this however. She was eager to learn to fight, what would be the point in her if she couldn't? It was just like Lucia to add that last bit in just to confuse her as well... the girl pretended to ignore it though, no point in feeding this perverted woman more than needed.

"But sure, maybe after i've had a long nap i'll give you some... Private lessons"

Well asher was much happier with that. She looked up at Lucia and gave her a smile.

"Thanks Lucia... The private lessons are strictly battle practice only though!"
Her smile turned to a suspicious glare.

As they walked and talked the small town came closer. Tempuro is a small forest village, the people who live there called themselves temple guardians. They looked after the Earth Temple for centuries claiming it was what their God wanted them to do. It was very hard to get near the temple with them always keeping watch let alone get into the temple. (Which no one had done in the history of Relucesco)

As the girls moved closer Asher noticed some armoured guards. It was unusual as the Kings Guards never bothered themselves with the smaller villages.

"Look Lucia!" she said pointing... looking rather suspicious even though the older woman had told her to act normal. "How are we going to get past?"

Chuck watched as Celestia 'seduced' the guard into letting them pass. It turned out that the guard was more lenient than he thought and he let them straight though... so the whole exercise was a waste of time but seeing Celestia so out of her comfort zone like that was quite funny.

She grumpily summoned the 3 men over to the entrance and they all made their way through down the smelly, Earthy staircase. Chuck tried to count the stairs as they went, he got to 500 before he tired and decided to forget about it.

The inside of the city was really quite amazing. It was warm and instantly Chuck felt himself sweating. The town was a series of tunnels, with burrows and homes and stores built into the walls. It was huge though. The people who lived here were mostly humans and Dwarves and some Orcs.

"Well why you three figure out what to do next, I shall be going to the bar, want something to drink to take my mind off this crap." Came Vex's voice before he stormed off to the nearest Tavern.

He was obviously still upset. Poor sod. He was much too emotional. Chuck felt as though he should follow but before he could take action he noticed a fight going on...well the end of a fight.

A pale man had just beat the shit out of a bunch of dirty old men. The pale guy, who was obviously a pro fighter of some sort had left the fight to rest his body on a nearby bench. As the man moved Chuck caught notice of something... something familiar on the palm of the man's hand.

"Celestia... Ezelus... aye think aye just found us ar 5th Chosen one!!" He said with a grin before leaving the group to go introduce himself to the fighter.

He walked up slowly, hoping the guy didn't think he was another psycho gearing up to fight him.

"Hey..."
he called softly, once he was close enough to talk without any unwanted ears listening in he mentioned the marking on the mans hand "...so... aye noticed that markin' on your hand..." He then reached out his palm, showing the man his own marking. "Looks like ar luvly god 'as found ah new person ta burden with this curse. So we'll be travelin' tagether then. What's ya name?"

Hopefully this guy knew what he was talking about or Chuck would sound a right fool to this poor stranger.

(OOC) Soul, I'll have Chuck go to the inn to have a talking to with Vex in my next post :) We'll get Licky's character introduced first.

"Thanks Lucia... The private lessons are strictly battle practice only though!"

Lucia chuckled a little at this "Oh but of course... At first" Lucia gave her a playful stroke of her hair without messing it up as she looked ahead, relaxing herself as Asher began to panic a little.

"Look Lucia!" Lucia placed her hands on Asher's shoulders and stood in front of her "How are we going to get past?"

"Just relax, they're not going to be looking for us two lovely ladies, are they? As long as you don't start panicing or looking suspicious they won't bother us, so just act normal and you'll be fine, okay?"

Lucia then gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek before taking her hand, walking her through to the town of Tempuro, making their first destination the Inn. Heading inside she greeted a somewhat flustered Innkeeper and presented the 2 silvers for a couple room and walked Asher to the room, locking the door behind them.

"See? Now wasn't that fine? While we have the room you may as well freshen up first, i'll probably have a well deserved nap, don't get too feisty while i'm asleep, okay?" Lucia gave Asher a playful wink as she places her cloak on the bedpost and proceeded to remove her leather suit, watching Asher's reaction with glee.

Indigo surveyed the approaching man with cool eyes, after all this person was potentially a travelling partner he'd have to put up with for a long time. At first glance the scarred traveller wasn't overly impressed with Chuck, his body was well built but pretty. If Indigo had to guess he'd say it was the result of working out and exercise, rather than forged in countless fights. As his prospective comrade came closer, Indigo began to revise his opinion. Chuck's walk was almost cat like he thought, naturally balanced and constantly prepared for combat yet graceful.

As Chuck proffered his sigil bearing hand, the wanderer let his cool eyes meet the bulky knight's. Much like their owner, the eyes at first appeared weak to Indigo's steel stripping gaze. Behind that though, there was a hard core to Chuck. Like flint barely covered by lichen and moss, still the now rested fighter reasoned 'a gaze can only tell me so much'. A slight curving of the lips, that some optimists might call a smile, flashed across Indigo's face.

Many a time Indigo had met various alehouse drunks or bullies, who wished to have their sport with an outsider. The slyest of these seemed friendly at first, and would offer a handshake. They would then crush the hand of the fool stupid enough to return their gesture. Or at least that was there intention normally, Indigo had crippled quite a few drunks who thought to try the same trick on him. It was this crude practical joke he intended to use on Chuck now, reaching out he grasped the hand he had been proffered. As soon as his fingers curled around Chuck's, Indigo began to slowly increase the force of his grip. His cool gaze never leaving Chuck's face.

Robert Silvermyst

As soon as Robert finished, he looked up to see an arrow strike his companion in the chest. It hit clean through the heart, and death seemed like an instant. Robert hopped on his tiger mount and draw his blade. Robert's mount dashed into the woods, just as several arrows struck a tree where he was.

"Damn bandits. No. No bandit is that precise. Those people have to be trained for those kinds of precision shots." Robert spoke to himself. Still, there was nothing he could do for the poor guy who had just began to travel with them. Things seemed to be off to a bad start right from the start.

After a mad ride through the plains, Robert arrived at a small town. Whoever it was that attacked him and his companion, they were deadly accurate. No simple group of bandits was that skilled. Robert entered into the inn and headed to the front desk to get himself a room.

Celestia

Vex, moody as ever, immediately made for the tavern as soon as they got through. She didn't have much comments about it; she didn't even care at this point. Still fuming about the little episode from earlier, she was about to proceed to discuss their subsequent plans when Chuck interrupted her.

"Celestia... Ezelus... aye think aye just found us ar 5th Chosen one!!"

Curious, she watched as Chuck approached the man in question. A rugged man, but definitely not weak. He appears to be quite lean, and probably lithe. The focus was less on muscles and strength, as with Chuck, and more on speed. True or not, Celestia wasn't sure. She wasn't even sure if Chuck was right about he being the other Chosen One.

The two shook hands, and glimpsing the mark on his hand, Celestia knew Chuck was right. However, judging by his overall demeanor, she starting to feel the air get tense. The handshake looked to be more than just an ordinary one.

Still, there was no reason for her to cut in, so she kept quiet about it, watching the two with a worried expression.

Asher Brighton
Tempero Inn

Well Lucia was right, getting into the town was simple enough, even with the guards watching the gate... perhaps going in as a small group was a good idea. They didn't look suspicious and the guards didn't take any notice... well one did seem to be checking out Lucia but Asher was never certain of things like that. She did manage to give the man a glare which had him snap his head back quick-smart.

The girls then went up to their room in the Inn. It was cosy and calm. The furniture was all wooden and the room seemed to have a green leafy theme to it. It was nice, almost reminded her of Primo a bit.

She had noticed on her way towards the Inn that there was a small market place selling sweet smelling foods and strange concoctions and charms of all sorts. She was definitely going to explore the Market place later on if given the chance.

"See? Now wasn't that fine? While we have the room you may as well freshen up first, i'll probably have a well deserved nap, don't get too feisty while i'm asleep, okay?" came Lucia's voice.

Asher frowned, why was she being told not to get feisty? It was Lucia who needed that warning...but Asher didn't even have time to comment as the woman happily stripped out of her skin tight leathers revealing her womanly figure. Luckily she was wearing undergarments but Asher was still caught off guard. Her face flushing bright red. She didn't know where to look so she averted her eyes and looked at her sandals.

"You really have no shame do you....?"
the girl said with a grumble before peeling her feet from the spot she had been standing in and heading towards the bathroom.

She locked the door and took a shower. There was no way Lucia was getting through the door without breaking it!

Once showered and dressed the girl quietly unlocked the door tiptoeing out, careful not to wake the other woman if she was sleeping. She then made her way to the door stepping outside and taking in the warm suns rays. It was really humid today and a little sticky but Asher liked it. Then, her purple eyes caught something familiar.

"Prince Robert??"
he found them!! She was so glad.

"Prince Robert wait!" She called to him, waving her hands hoping the man on the tiger would see her and halt. Hopefully calling out the princes name wouldn't call unneeded attention, but Asher wasn't very smart like that. She was just glad the man found them. She was never happy with Lucia's idea to split up but now three of them were together again... but wait.. why wasn't Stevie with the Prince??

Channing (Chuck) Freeley
Colligo Streets.

At first Chuck was pleased that the man was willing to shake his hand, he seemed quite friendly if you disregarded his looks, although he didn't seem to say much... or anything really. But soon enough Chuck changed his mind.

The fighters handshake was tight and almost bone crushingly strong. Was he trying to test him? The Former Knight wasn't too sure what to do, did he also tighten his grip? Or would that anger him?

"Eh, heh, heh..." He laughed nervously. "That's quite da grip ya got there" Chuck commented, deciding against squeezing the strange man's hand back. Eventually he took his hand from the guy, rubbing his fingers and knuckles which had turned a slight purple colour. Chuck was pale... most people were pale in Umbra, there was no light to help tan them so bruises and discolouring was quite noticeable.

"Well, uhm ya see, one of ar lil' buddies 'as run off an' thrown a tantrum so we're gonna head there now...per'aps figure out were da shrine is and how ta get inta it." He said looking at the man, realising they didn't even know eachothers name yet.

He began to walk towards the tavern before turning to the fighter and giving him his name. "By tha way, I'm Chuck. Feel free ta pass on ya name, when ya ready."

The tavern was rather close to where they had been standing, he found he didn't even need to ask for directions. Then sitting at the bar, Chuck noticed a figure slouched over a pint of beer.

"Ya better be careful not ta get drunk again." He said laughing as he placed a large hand on Vex's shoulder. "C'mon. Get out of ya mood and lets get working towards finding tha shrine."

Lucia giggled mischievously as she noticed Asher's highly apparent red face sending a comment of "Like what you see, Asher?" before it sent the girl walking off into the bathroom, locked no less to keep Lucia out.

Chuckling to herself she laid herself down under the bed's covers, taking in the warmth that she hadn't felt for a few days now, quickly falling asleep from her exhaustion.

"Prince Robert wait!"

Lucia snapped straight awake when she heard this, sighing quietly she rolled onto her side away from Asher, thinking to herself how this could be the last time she got to spend some quality time together with Asher, through all the fooling around with her the time they did have was fun, however brief it turned out to be.

Now Robert had returned to the picture, no doubt Asher would return to him and Lucia would become less important to Asher, the thought alone put a frown on her face as she pulled herself out of bed and put her clothes back on, in almost total silence compared to her usual attitude, seeing Asher still looking out to Robert she gave her one last tight hug from behind with a kiss on the cheek before leaving the room.

While she wasn't going to leave the group, herself and Asher were no doubt about to drift apart now someone more preferable to Asher had reemerged, that thought alone had Lucia's envy rise.
