Germany 4- 0 Argentina

OMG!!

Anyone who beats Germany now I'm gonna support them for a long time............Honestly I thought Argentina were going to easily win this one, with the likes of Messi,Tevez,Milito,Di Maria,Aguero etc.........They look to good to beat........As for Germany there a team that were planning to prbably win the next world cup........Most of their players are young and this year they are really dominating(except the defeat against Serbia).

But I thought England were bad enough, I guess England played better than Argentina, because England lost 4-1 with a disallowed goal and they hit the bar.

So.............I guess it's not that much of a shock since they beat Argentina 4-0!

Hmph....Guess many people are tipping Germany to win the cup,well I'm going to say the Netherlands or Germany are going to win.........Not the favourites Spain............The favourites NEVER win.
 
I think it's safe to say Germany have won it already. They're emerging as the surprising favourites from the way they thrashed Argentina. I hope Spain win as well myself, too.

hmm........Spain or Germany you say..........Well Spain did lose against Switzerland and Germany to Serbia...........If Spain make it through.........then Netherlands and Uraguay are going to be the only teams that have'nt lost in the tournement.........But I think the favourites right now are Germany by a long shot..............

I guess it's not going to be bad for England knowing they won the tournement........and we lost to them.........rather lose to the winners then lose to the quarter,semi finalists or runner-ups.
 
Blimey Germany, I got the outcome right but I never saw that result coming. We clearly should have trusted the psychic octopus who called it correct again. Efficient Holland/Brazil, Germany scoring for fun, welcome to the Bizarro World Cup!

I don't think that's the case at all. Spain have better players in just about every position. When they played teams with good defenses, ie Serbia and Ghana, they struggled.
Holland vs Uruguay looks like it could be one of the worst semi finals, but it'll probably have 70 billion goals.
And now Klose is just two goals away from having the most world cup goals.
 
Whilst I think it's ludicrous to say a team has won the World Cup already, to say that Spain have better players than Germany in just about every position is equally daft. The likes of Ozil, Schweinsteiger, Lahm and Klose are all very useful players last I checked. Not to mention the fact that didn't some people say this about England before they faced Germany. Plus mentioning the Serbia game is slightly misleading, Germany had to play with 10 men for almost an hour against Serbia (conceding the goal just after the red card had left them disoriented), and still almost got a draw.

The game will be a tough one to call and I wonder if Villa might deliver the goods again for Spain
 
I'd be tempted to lean towards Spain, because on paper they're a stronger defensive team, but they seem to be struggling to concentrate when it matters most at the back at the minute, and players like Ozil and Klose prey on that.
Germany will have a hard time dealing with Villa and Iniesta though, so it should be interesting to watch. I think Germany will just edge it.

Lahm is better than Ramos and Schweinsteiger is better than Busquets, but I don't think Klose is as good as Villa or Torres, Torres has been poor but I still think he's better than Klose. Spain don't have a AM role that Ozil plays in, but Iniesta and Xavi are the probably the best two midfielders in the world. I doubt Pique and Puyol will be as useless as Terry and Upson.
 
Right now I could probably play better than Torres.

I had to take quite a hiatus from this thread after Brazil so thoroughly embarrassed me. Although the majority of the decisions went suspiciously against us and the Dutch came out the for second half with a negative game plan, Brazil threw the game away with slack defending in the second half and a bizarre moment of madness from Felipe Melo, who needed a police escort to ensure his safety at the airport.

Ahhh Brazilians.

So the tournament's over for me. Not only have England and Brazil been knocked out, I don't feel any of the teams still left in the tournament have done enough to be worthy winners (other than Germany, who have done more than enough). Brazil, Argentina and Germany are the only teams who performed at this tournament, a tournament ruined by bad officiating and woeful decision making.

Germany ftw, bring on Brazil 2014.
 
Think you're being rather harsh on Holland and Spain, neither have set the tournament alight but the former has won every game so far and Spain are ekeing out results. Not every team can play dazzling football. And in the end the team that wins the World Cup is the one that deserves it.

Great opening goal from Holland, otherwise been a quiet game thus far. I expected this one to be pretty cagey though.
 
Holy crap I almost pissed my pants at the end. Those extra minutes were killing me xD Glad we still could defend and keep it 3-2, but I still don't get why Van Bommel got a yellow card.
Glad we came this far, after so many years. But I do think we won't win in the finals.
 
Van Bommel presumably got a yellow card for all the fouling he was doing during the match! OK, actually it was for kicking the ball away I think.

A strange game, not the highest quality but we got five goals out of it so can't complain too much. Like Italy v Slovakia it went a bit crazy in the last 20-30 minutes or so. Holland deserved the victory but Uruguay at least kept battling to the end. Now for tomorrow's game.

Also I can't believe I got my post mod edited above for making a tongue-in-cheek one line post *rolls eyes*

EDIT:

Spain win! They were much better in this game, we should have trusted the octopus' prediction! Germany will be disappointed but I think they could do well at Euro 2012. And now we'll have a new team winning the World Cup.

Germany did win today and took 3rd place. I actually still can't believe they lost their last game but goes to show that it's all or nothing ya know? Can't remember who they played Netherlands? But, they totally dominated Germany throught the game.

As for the final, I dunno. I really don't care to be honest :hmmm:

Though, this is Spain's first time getting into the finals.
 
I think Spain will win today 1-0. I hope it's more exciting than that but finals in recent World Cups have tended to be cagey affairs.
 
I am Kinda excited for the final so I am going to watch it today. I am rooting for the Netherlands because Spain already won the euro and I want another team to win now :hmph: I do see this as a great game though. But we will find out.
