Nintendo Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Don't you think that might be a little slow though? <_< I shoot for the best time possible, and it's hard enough to do at Target Smash level 4...

I have achieved one of my goals of knocking the sandbag over 3000 feet as Charizard in Home-Run Contest. :P 3004.8 feet to be exact. XD

Meh. I can enjoy the game sure but the tournament scene for it sucks balls. It's just that since Meele had such a strong Tournament scene with TONS of people playing it why take out the one feature that people liked most about it. And they KNEW about the wave dash since they found it in a play test before the game but decided to leave it there to see how people implemented it. I also hate how most of the old characters that were good (Ness,Link, C.Falcon,Ganondorf,Peach to name a few) got nerfed HORRIBLY for no reason at all. Ness fails because of a stupid grab glitch that can be exploited easily by anyone, C.Falcon has too much Risk/Reward for about ANYTHIG he throws out not to mention a non-existant falcon knee that's dumb hard to get criticals off of, Peach's down smash is horrible now and getting back on the stage with her at High% is a nightmare, Ganon gets knocked out at 100 and he's a heavyweight? I don't think so, and Finally Link is the single most person who gets gimped because of recovery disabilities in the game, His Grab is abysmal, and finally his upB now has no knockback capability. That's enough ranting from a Meele elitist noob for now lol. Other than that Brawl is an excellent game.

Made it by a hair huh? Or should I say, a scale? :P I saw your replay of that, you put everything into getting it's damage high enough to knock it that far, it must have taken you forever to come that much closer to perfecting it, all that rock smashing...it was a smashing performance.

Well I'm glad you think it an excellent game overall, because it nothing less than that. Sure it'll have it's things about it that someone won't like, but no game is absolutely perfect, this, imo, is about as close as you can get.

Tripping is kind of dumb though, but I even get a kick out of that somewhat, however sometimes literally. XD

For some reason I think you try to make yourself trip on purpose sometimes, I also think that might be why you use ice in as many of your custom stages as you do. :P But I don't know why... >_>

I really wonder what calculates the probability of a trip because it seems to happen randomly with no logic behind why. Sometimes it even happens in the first 2 seconds of a match!

Partly, but I've also been enjoying our chatting. ^_^

Sometimes it happens as soon as a match starts before the narrator finishes saying "GO!" when ssb dashes off towards opponents. :P

I know it's really easy to trigger a trip on ice, much more likely than 3%. If you dash in one direction, release the control pad briefly, then immediately go to turn around and start dashing in the other direction, it seems to cause you to slip every time. >.>

My favorite characters to use are Sonic and Link. My favorite final smahs's are Sonic's and Jiglypuff's because they are hard to dodge.

why take out the one feature that people liked most about it.

Because Sakurai thinks his target audience can't enjoy Brawl when the metagame is thriving. Appearantly he wanted to do them a "favor" because there's a whole mass of casual players who have some kind of bone to pick with "tourneyfags" >_>
He did everything he could to ensure the competitive scene is screwed.
Also, tripping has a 1/100 chance of occuring whenever you tap the control stick.

I still play Brawl every now and then, but once the game store tourney is over and I have my h00ge ass TV, I'll try to remaster SSB64 on my emulator because I remember having much more fun with it the months before Brawl's release than I did with Brawl itself.

I'd imagine any changes which was apperently not for the tournment players was probably to try and even the playing field out which I'm personally all for on every level of play. I'm pretty sure Sakurai has mentioned this a fair few times since Smash Bros has probably meant to be a fun title first, but saying that the Smash Community kinda takes things a tad too harshly. Their reactions when EVO had their SSBB tournament this year with items on were loltastic.

I love playing against others in SSBB =3 That's a wonderful feature of the Wii~

Oh, and the story is really cool too. I think it'd be much better if there was talking, but the cutscenes actually build up a pretty cool story =)

SSBM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SSBB imo.

Why did they remove the awesomeness of the short shuffling...why remove wavedashing??? I cannot seem to understand this, however after reading the creators of Smash stating that they don't want this game to be played competitively but so they removed alot of these qualities from SSBM.

I cannot believe that they made Link worse in this game...in SSBM he wasn't even that good to begin with, but in here, only his tilts where improved...everything else just got more toned down. His hookshot to ledge has been shot down the stretcher. His SpinAttack is even more worse then before, and his boomerang, and bombs are really bad in this game.

It's no wonder Link is ranked so low in the Tier Listing, however another one of my beefs is why did the gameplay get slower as well. SSBM was a fast paced game...but in here, it's like going back to turtle speed.

I dont know, personally I dont find SSBB as fun as SSBM was, I just dont like all the beefy tone downs they did to the game engine.

Well, Brawl is undoubtedly my favourite Smash Bros. game yet, despite these things you mention.

I have a bunch of Snapshots of mine I would like to post, should I post them in this thread, or make a thread for the Brawl Snapshots?

I completely agree (though I personally feel that Link is extremely good in Melee). Brawl isn't nearly as much fun as Melee is; in fact, I haven't looked at Brawl in months because I've gone back to playing Melee.

All the new features (stages, characters, modes, etc) mean nothing when the game's a bore to play. It's funny how my opinion of the game's been falling as time goes by...

My favorite characters are Link, Lucario, Marth, Sonic, Pit, and Toon Link.
Do any of you think that they will come out with a new Super Smash Bros series? I hope they do, because then they can maybe add FF characters. But then again Kingdom Hearts has taken that prize, aw crap :whogives:

Well, two posts and my question has yet to be answered, I'm just gonna post them here. :P

The last one is my favourite, I may be using it sometime soon...how so? I said soon, so you might just find out for yourselves before too long.

The last one is my favourite too, good going getting it positioned just right. :)

And that one where Charizard's tongue is sticking out of the top of it's snout/mouth, is a good observation, and it looks quite of funny in the snapshot.
