I'm sorry Grim, I like canon Tifa (to a certain extent, she can do things that annoy the fuck out of me) but not fanon Tifa which is the Tifa that her fans make her out to be. I'm sick of people making her out to be something that's not but I also found what you just said abotu Aerith HIGHLY offensive. Aerith didn't flaunt her Ancient powers! If anything she tried to hide them! She tried to cover them up. She didn't want to believe that she was what she was. It was NOT HER fault that she had to sacrifice herself to save the planet and I'm sorry but no, Cloud never loved Tifa more than Aerith. You've got that so wrong...

Sure Tifa is sexy and she's a martial artist and she serves beer that doesn't make Cloud love her more. Haven't you read the official novels Maiden Who Travels the Planet and Case of Tifa? Don't you realize that Cloud was STILL struggling with the grief and remorse of losing Aerith and that's WHY he leaves Tifa??? Cloud kept putting on a fake happy face during that time but when it got the better of him, he left.

In Maiden Who Travels the Planet, Aerith could hear Cloud crying for her. She could hear his heart crying for her and Aerith was surprised that Cloud had such deep feelings for her. It also states that Aerith loved Cloud more than she ever loved Zack because soon afterwards she got to know the real Cloud. Who do you think helped GUIDE Cloud and Tifa through the Lifestream scene??? That was AERITH who guided them along and made Cloud regain his true identity. So PLEASE unless you're here to flame fanon Tifa or just post why fanon Tifa annoys you, do not come into this thread and bash Aerith, especially when we have as many Aerith fans as we do here.
 
All interesting points and as I said, at the end of my post I LIKE Aeris, I think she's great.

Just a quick point though, the novels are not regarded as FFVII cannon. Only The FFVII complilation games/film are.

And yes, I know Aeris did not flaunt her powers, I guess I was flaming a little there... (well, slightly smouldering anyway).

Hope nobody was too offended.... Right, I'm leaving before I get mobbed.
 
Oh they aren't? You do know that the people who wrote the novels are the original writers of FVII, do you not? So yes, in fact they ARE canon.
 
Hmm if those Novels arnt canon then a whole load of Clotis and Cleris' are pulling facts out of their beacksides.

but as LA said they were written by and AUTHORIZED by the original writers of FFVII so the 3 novels -

On a way to a smile - Denzels story (shared with tifa)
On a way to a smile - Tifas story (shared with denzel)
Maiden Who Travels the Planet - Aeris' Story.

all those are canon whether we like it or not - and they are often brought up in many LTDs.

I would like to join this club, if anymore members are being taken in. I've started to play FFVII again recently and well. I think Tifa is useless and stale, in my personal opinion.

I personally only regard the actual FFVII game as canon. Everything else is just Square Enix whoring the game out.

And there should be enough evidence for the cannon pairing in the game. We shouldn't need all this other stuff to prove it, maybe as further proof, but not the proof.
 
I agree Rydia we should be able to get "The" proof for a pairing out of the game but i know some rabid-clotis who get all their "proof" out of the reuniun files and the word Koibito.

Seriously that one word! besides in the book they say that she is LIKE a koibito and Cloud isnt even mentioned in the context of the sentance anyway so IMO

Koibito = Failed Cloti Proof.

its another thing that makes it hard for me to even remotly like tifa - rabid tifa and cloti fans like Rose - who focis more on being Anti-aeris and anti-Cleris than they do enjoying there own favourite character or pairing - and thats just pathetic.
 
Tifa is a good example as to why you should never add a last minute character to a story.

Seriously the game would have been much better with out all her whining and moaning through the second disk.

Ever go to a FF7 board, say that you don't like Tifa, and have the whole place erupt in chaos? Ah it's so much fun! And they are so easy too! And no I don't do this in my spare time. Just when some asks, "who is your least favorite character?"

People say they hate Yuffie all the time, and you know what? I could care less. More power to them. Unlike Tifa fans, I don't let someone oppinion of a video game character ruin my day.
