Playstation The Legend of Dragoon

I loved this game D= I wish they'd add it to the PSN because my PS1 games wont play anymore I get to the battle with the Water Dragoon and once i beat her it freezes on a black screen T.T so I cant play it anymore...

But this was my favorite RPG since the game was so different,The battle system was unique the races and world was very unique the graphics were great for a ps1 game.

I just wish I could play it again T-T Damn it put it on the PSN D=

Ah, I have fond memories of playing the game. It's surprisingly underrated, but I've always put it down to the fact that it was mostly overshadowed by other games at the time.

Sadly I haven't played it for a fair few years now due to the fact that my PS1 broke. I would love to see it added to the PSN store though...

Ohman!!

Legend of Dragoon! Been years since I played this.
I was playing it on a emulator...and I fell in love with it!

Oh Meru I miss youuu!

Long time ago I played this. It's a great game but sometimes it's really hard: ghost ship, fight with lloyd.. Damn now I'm thinking about it, I never beat this game. Think I'll start again soon with this.

The only real thing wrong with this game is the issues they have here and there with translation. Beyond that, bloody gold mine. Recently just replayed it. Final boss fight is a timeconsuming bitch.

My favourite game. For me, The Legend of Dragoon is the best J-RPG. And we all want a sequel, or a prequel (Dragon Campaign),

My favourite character is Dart and my second is Lloyd.

P.S. Has anyone read The Legend of Dragoon (Manga)?

I love this game, but I had no clue there was a Manga, I love the characters also, mostly Shana!

Was it as hard leveling up for everyone else as it was for me? Because my levels were very low at disc three, and on a regular I attacked with 48/80 point at a time :hmph:

That was actually about as much as I did at that point. If I was lucky, with the high-damage additions, I would barely breach 100 damage. Most regular enemies didn't get that much above that in terms of HP though until the end of the game.

Did anybody ever have a 100% working copy of this game. When it came out, me and my friends got it and they all had the same glitch. You would go into a room or switch screens, then the screen would turn black. All you would hear is music and see nothing. You would have to restart the whole game and this glitch would happen at random points. I honestly got to the very last level and took the green teleport orb that goes to the last boss, and the glitch happened! Pissed me off and I never beat the game.

I managed to, when I first got the game years ago. Now disc 1 is scratched to hell, and will only work on the PS1. Most battles now take horrendously long to load up, if they load up at all, but I can manage to get through it and go through the game.

I have a copy of this game too because I bought the japanese version when I played it for the first time.
And no, it wasn't too difficult for me. :)

Seriously that glitch happened to other people I thought it was my disk it happened to me when Meru got her Dragoon spirit so you telling me I have to start over in order to play it again D=

That always, ALWAYS, happened to me after the fight with Lenus at the end of disc 2
when she's with Regole and turns in to a Dragoon
. It did it on my PS2 but NEVER on my PS1...

I know right. Straight up frustrating.

Beside from the glitching hell, the game was ok. I enjoyed the combat system. I liked how you had to time your attacks and build meter to use your super Dragoon abilities(like a fighting game ;)). I thought the graphics were superb for that time. The story was ok, not the best, but tolerable. I do agree, it was interesting to see a lower range of stats and damage. Like doing 118 damage was actually good.

But this leads to another complaint I have for the game. It took an eternity to grind. The battles lasted so long and the treasures and experience for winning was a joke most of the time. I think I got to the end of the game at Level 30. Level 30, really? Overall, it would be a good game...if not for the damn glitch of death that forces you to restart the game! :rage:

I'm sure the highest level you can get to though is 49 or something like that. I don't think it goes up beyond 50s at the very least.

My copy never glithed once, which is weird because I hear about that the game has many glitches and defects, all the time. But other than that I had the same problems as you, level grinding was a bitch, I am level 29 on disc 3 so looks like I won't go up much more. I did like the attack timing and SP system though.

I thought the story was decent, it was just an RPG anyway :> I had the same view on everything else though.

Indeed this had to one of the greatest games for the ps one era of games. I truly loved the graphic of the time, the storyline and the music. The battle system was at first very challenging to me at the start of the mid level additions. They started picking up in speed to me at first then I just got used to them. Most the music seemed to fit the place it was played and did'nt sound like the same soundtrack broken up or redone a hundred times. As for the characters the only one I really hated that you could play as was Meru, I just hated her personality, but then Miranada actually took her place, and I found Meru tolerable. Was such a shame that lavitz died, would have loved to see his character get developed more through out the story, not saying that albert was a poor replacement, he was actually a good one. Loyd could get on my nerves at time, but mostly before we learn as to why hes doing this and gets betrayed by melbu. I truly would have wished to see a squeal/prequel to this game around the time. If they would do one now, I would be iffy on it cause the original development team is gone. So I would be worried about the quality of the game considering how square-enix has crapped out on some games as of late.

I played most of this game last month, and I can say in earnest that it is the worst JRPG that I have ever played. The combat was way too simple and the Additions were extremely annoying to pull off. The only challenge in the game is to time your attacks correctly, and it thus felt much more like a fighting game than an RPG. The story, characters, and dialogue are also subpar. This game shouldn't ever be mentioned in the context of Final Fantasy.

PS: Sorry to be the contrarian of the thread.

The Legend of Dragoon hitting PSN May 1

SCE Worldwide Studios president Shu Yoshida has taken to the PS Blog to announce PSone Classic, The Legend of Dragoon, will be released on PSN May 1.

The game was originally released in North America during 2000 and in 2001 in Europe.

It takes place in a land called Endiness with various zones in which various inhabitants reside. It starts off in the land of Serdio, where a civil war is occurring. The protagonist, Dart, is just returning home from five-year journey pursuing the Black Monster who killed his parents and destroyed his city, Neet.

Along the way he is attacked by a dragon controlled a rebel faction in the Serdian civil war. After his attack, he is saved by a girl named Rose and when he finally arrives home, he finds the town destroys and his childhood friend and love interest Shana has disappeared. He then sets out to find her.

That’s a bit of the story anyway, and throughout the game, there are nine playable characters and eight Dragoon spirits.

Yoshida mentions in the post how popular the game was with fans, and how several online petitions calling for a for a prequel, remake or sequel have been formed over the years.

For those unfamiliar with the title, the RPG contains a turn-based battle system between playable characters and CPU-controlled enemies
