The Paths of Tragedy

Wylliam allowed himself to get caught up in and join Jake and Brome's laughter. "Well, it's like I always say," he said between laughs, "you can't take life seriously all the time. Isn't that right Cairn," he added with a sly grin in the seasoned warrior's direction. Wylliam was certain that if battle didn't kill that man, his body would eventually implode from his solemn demeanor. Cairn was a man Wylliam respected, but had no intention of emmulating.

"It seems not, sometimes laughter is necessary to avoid falling into madness." Cairn commented as he stood from the seat. "Well, I am going to the main hall. For some reason, I am quite curious to know who will be fighting next. Besides, I am in need of something to quench my thirst." Cairn stated before leaving. The man bowed formally to his friends, then turned around and went to the stairs. After going down stairs and arriving to the main corridor, Cairn turned to the left and headed straight to the main hall. Contestants and visitors gathered here, it seems that the previous battle between Felldoh and Entas have been giving these people much to talk about. Cairn smiled, after all, he did enjoyed witnessing such a splendid battle.

Jonad Sizoc.

"I have no idea" Jonad replied as he answered Felldoh's question. "Considering that it is over his eyes, it can really only be 3 things" Jonad explains, as he walks over to Entas. "He is either blind, and this is an aid of sorts. Or he is blind, and this hides, an otherwise, uncommon sight. Or the last, he can see, but just thinks it is cool. Like some form of glasses" He smiles at the end. "but then again, I have no idea what the small contraption was" Jonad explains while still confused. "What do you think?" he asks Felldoh.

Alumar Loren

Gorgack must have been in a bad mood, as he came down, and shouted that Alumar be strapped on the table.
Alumar, in his weakened state, had little he could do against it. Since the ever annoying gem was locked in the padded chest, he could not use magic either.

Alumar's assumptions where correct, this time Gorgack did not ask any questions, he just ravaged loose on Alumar's body.
The ordeal lasted much shorter then usual, and Gorgack did not say a word.

Alumar smiled lightly, as it was somewhat tragic. Something had obviously happened, and he took it out on a prisoner. Of sorts.
He muttered something about the arena before he left. Which gave Alumar and idea.

When Liandra came back, he could make her go and get help. Though, it would take one of great honor, or curiosity, to heed the words of a small girl.
As normal, she did return, and with the same smile as always, she dropped down a few bread pieces. It was far from much, but it was heaven considering what 'food' Alumar was normally fed.

Alumar started explaining the job she had to do, if she agreed that was.
She where to go to the arena, and seek out some one that looked honorable and strong. Even if they looked weird, that should not halt her.
She where to tell that person, of Alumar's situation, and mention his name, as that might help in aiding.
If the person demands payment, that person would be informed of a 500 gold reward if Alumar where freed. Though, if the person indeed is honorable, they would not mention money.

She smiled as always, which reminded Alumar of the old days.
As he agreed, she rand off to the arena, looking for some ones that 'looked honorable'
As Alumar was fed a bowl of... Whatever it was, from the guards.

and sat down. "Hello, Damian. It is great to see you again as well" He replied in a low tone, as he might endanger both himself, and Damian if he is discovered.[/quote]
As Soris turned to face Damian he saw he was recognised. The defensive stance he had adopted was dropped now as he bore a wide smile to Damian. As Damian knelt onto one knee and looked directly to Soris as he replied to Damian. "Hello, Damian. It is great to see you again as well" "It's good to see you too, well what brings you here? The arena?" As Damian finished his questions he then lowered his right shoulder as an invitation for his friend to hop on. "You want to 'team up' again?" Damian asked with a friendly smile on his face.

Soris smiled to his former caretaker. "I'm mainly here as a spectator. Also, the bigger towns have plenty of good food, even when discarded" he stated as he got up on all 4. "Id like to team up for a little while yes, that would be good" he smiled even wider, as he took a few steps forward and jumped onto Damian's shoulder.
Taking his 'usual seat'

"So, what are you doing here?" Soris asked from Damian's shoulder, with a low voice.

As Soris took his seat on his shoulder Damian slowly rose to his full height again. "So, what are you doing here?" Soris asked in a quiet voice. It was clear that Soris was trying to stay hidden for now. "I'm competing, once I'm done here hopefully with my new friends I might have more luck finding out where the Dracoknight sword is" Damian replied. Damian then turned around and started walking towards the stands where he was previously sitting, he then turned his head to face Soris. "Don't you worry, if anyone asks I'll say your my pet" Damian joked.

Soris moved around a bit, to gain a stable balance, so that Damian can move without fearing that Soris would fall.
"Be nice, or I'll bite your ear" Soris joked back. But in all honesty, Soris was in a way Damian's Pet. If nothing else, it was how it started.
Damian was Soris' caretaker, and by an accident, Soris gained a higher intelligence, which he was more then happy for.
So, if any one where to ask, and the reply where that Soris was Damian's pet, it would not be a lie. Not completely at least.

"So, you're in the arena matches. Are you trained enough for that?" Soris stated with a grin on his face. "And how is your progress on the blade you where looking for?" he asks, jokes aside.

As soon as Cairn arrived, a mysterious man clad in dark armor made an act of appearance, which caught Cairn's attention. As he had suspected, the dark knight was a Silverwing, possibly the one they've met before at the Royal City of Palacious. "Lucius" Cairn said whispered, not wanting to draw any attention to himself. The dark knight walked sovereignly as if he were king of the world, then made a sudden stop at the very center of the Great Hall. There he stood tall, the chamber was crowded with both visitors and contestants. Strangely, the man did not take any more actions, nor pronounced a single word. It was, as if he were expecting someone to arrive, someone he had met several years ago. A former rival? Perhaps, one could never tell for sure, for the man known as "Lucius" preferred to live in secrecy.

Brome stood up and turned to Hera. "I think we should go see how Felldoh is. I just...I won't feel right about him if I can't see his condition." Hera nodded, understanding what Brome wanted: he didn't want to leave Felldoh in the hands of others, and wanted to see for himself the extent of Felldoh's injuries. Hera expected no less from such a good friend.

The Allsie stood up and turned, moving towards the door. With a flick of his head, he said, "Alright, let's go see Felldoh. I want to talk with him anyways...His match was no less than amazing, and I want to know where he learned to fight like that."

Brome answered Hera's question for him. "Felldoh never learned from anybody, he's a natural warrior. Back where we were from, the first time Felldoh ever fought was when we tried to escape from Fort Marshank. I've only fought once, and...it was horrible..."

Jake placed a hand on the mouse's shoulder. "Ah, don't worry, not everybody can be a warrior. Sometimes you just have to want it, an understand that there are going to be times when you hate what you do."

Hera's voice was dry, yet admiring as he spoke over his shoulder. "Very wise, Jake." It wasn't often that Jake showed that kind of insight. He seemed to be doing a lot more of that lately.

* * *

Felldoh shook his head. "Not a clue, mate. It just...popped out of that visor and flew around. I didn't exactly have a lot of time to watch it, as I was fighting pretty hard out there."

"Yes, you were." Felldoh turned around so fast that his neck cracked, resulting in his massaging it with a paw. Standing in the doorway was Hera Ledro, with Jake and Brome coming up behind.

Brome wasted no time in going to his friend. "Felldoh! Are you alright? What an amazing match! You weren't hurt too bad, were you? Oh, that was an excellent match, matey. Let me see your side, did the spear hurt you too much?"

Felldoh chuckled as the mouse inspected him. "Honestly, Brome, you're like an old mother hedgehog, worrying about her cubs. I'm fine, and you can thank this man here." Felldoh scratched his chin and looked at the man. "What did you say your name was?"

"That's Jonad," Hera interjected. "He was travelling with us to that city, the one where we caught the airship." He grinned at Jonad. "So, they conscripted you into the healers, did they?"

Testament smiled a smile oozing with irony as he entered the main hall and examined the decor. Typical of humans, he thought, glorifying war with mock battles and deifying the strongest as opposed to the noblest. He could feel his anceint anger against the humans beginning to boil in his stomache. Why did these self-destructive beings receive so much of God's love? They could curse his name, openly deny his existence, and still earn his forgiveness through repentance.

Testament mentally shook himself and grinned as he remembered why he was here. It had been a rather stressful century, and nothing relieved his stress more than watching humans bludgeon each other to death, providing him an excuse to feel his indignation at, in his opinion, God's misguided love.

As he stood there, loathing humanity, he noticed a knight simply exuding evil make his way to the center of the hall and stand perfectly rigid, as if expecting something. Testament chuckled to himself. Indeed, he thought, a world in which evil can hold its head high and proud. Nice pick, Yahweh. Not far from where Testament stood, another knight ((Cairn)) seemed to be watching the first. He decided to reinforce his spite of humans by approaching the observing knight and confirm his lack of worth. Testament readjusted his grip on his violin case and walked to the aging knight. He brushed a stray silver hair from in front of his crystal blue eyes before he spoke. "Look at that knight positively radiating power," he whispered in fake awe, "Surely he is a man to be respected..." Testament studied the knight's face for any sign that he, like so many humans, equated strength with honor.

"Nothing more than stones. Just like us, they stand here awaiting for their existence to end, for their lives to crumble and be reduced to dust. Dust to dust, ashes to ashes....from the earth we were created, and to its very soil we shall return..." Cairn commented as he fixed his eyes upon the mighty statues that served as the pillars of the Great Hall. Though his face showed serenity and peace, somewhere deep within his soul he was cracked with guilt. Blaming himself for all the blood he had spilled, cursing his human imperfection for not being able to prevent the demise of his homeland, Cairn stood like a silent sentry, waiting for the time to pass judgment on his aging soul to bring the peace only death can provide.

Hejaloki continued in his disguise. He was looking for Lucius. As he might have some hidden memories of Archzil concerning the necklace.

Hejaloki was walking in the hall looking, then he bumped into Cairn.

"Sorry didnt see you there."

"It seems that fate insists on placing all of us on the same road." Cairn smiled as he headed toward the nearest column and leaned his back against it. His arms folded across his chest, Cairn awaited for the Open Challenge to begin as soon as possible, for he was eager to face Hera Ledro and test his opponent's skills.

Testament scowled. He had been hoping to reaffirm his spite for the humans, but he had approached one of the very few warriors that could still distinguish between power and true 'honor'. "Tch. Old depressing fool," he grumbled, clenching his teeth, "You obviously know that battle is not 'glorious.' You see the cyclical nature of human existance. And yet, you fight. You persevere for the sake of a species that doesn't deserve their next breath. What have those creatures done to deserve protection?!" Beneath his right glove, his knuckles were turning white from his death grip on the violin case. For only an instant, a light flickered just above and behind his shoulders. He then turned to glare at the man who had bumped into the old knight. "And you!" he said with a smirk, "You say you didn't see him? Then you're as blind as an oracle. How could you miss this giant lump of aged meat?"

"I would rather be a depressive old fool than a man who believes to be worthy of judging others. I might be a fool, but at least I am honest to myself and I don't chose to critique others just to hide a possible flawed justice, something you seem to do very well gentleman" Cairn's attention was brought to this man and his sudden acidic behavior. Why was this man so aggressive? Cairn did not knew, but of one thing he was certain; he would not allow him to refer to others so derogatorily.

"You seem to glorify yourself as if you were the most righteous of men, yet you are nothing more than a narrow minded solitary excuse of a gentleman whose judgment is biased by grudge, hatred and foolishness. Now I urge you to stop or you shall face me in here or at the arena, matters little, for I have no concern for choosing the area where you will be brought down to your knees..." Cairn said addressing to the man threateningly, it was evident that the old knight was highly irritated by this man's lack of respect towards others.

"The most righteous... of men?" Testament started to chuckle, progressed to a shallow laugh, then burst into a melodic, high pitched cackle. What irony! "Ha... you couldn't imagine how wrong you are..." he said beneath his breath. "I certainly wouldn't mind fighting. I think I would rather enjoy venting some of my frustration. However, I only ask we do this in a place with a bit more... space. It's not that I care about the people in here or anything, but you might be tempted to hold back for their sake." Though he was smiling on the outside, Testament was even angrier than before. This man had described exactly what Testament was feeling, and he didn't appreciate a human showing such insight. He preferred to think of them as self-centered, egocentric animals.

"By all means, unleash your frustration upon me, as long as it helps you to put your soul at ease. Let's go outside, to fight at the open field. For some reason, I can't hate you, but I sure do not like your attitude..." Cairn turned around and walked towards the giant doors leading outside. At his command, the guards opened the doors and allowed him to leave the Colosseum. With heavy steps, the man headed towards the open field, not a single except for himself could be seen. He felt the flattened grass under his iron boots, the cold wind caressing his skin, and the sun shinning bright and high on the horizon. Cairn stopped, fixing his eyes on the soft soil, and remained standing there, awaiting for the man. Though Cairn knew it wasn't prudent to have a fight before his match against Hera Ledro, he was willing to take the risk and help this man to calm his raging soul.

"How about Damien?" The woman asked.

"Aww, if I gotta." Rene told the woman frustrated. He wanted to fight someone really powerful

"When do I start?" Rene smiled.

"In about 5 minutes." The woman said smiling evilly. "Guess you better start running kid. I'll ring Damien now to tell him to be there."

"Aye aye ma'am!" Reen shouted as he ran off towards the locker rooms.

As Damian waited for the next round to begin he was approached by a man who, after getting his attention then instructed him to proceed to the arena to prepare for his battle. "About time too... Well, guess I'd better get going then". Damian grabbed his staff and stood up, he then walked past the man and headed for the entrance to the arena. As he neared the gates of the arena he realised Soris would not be able to enter alongside him.

"Well Soris, where will you go while i fight? I don't think I can take you with me, how about those barrels you were by before?" Before waiting for a reply he proceeded towards the gates and awaited his opponent.

Woaaaaah" Rene slip across the mega polished floor towards the locker room "What the fu-? I'm betting some asshole janitor does that just so he can watch people fall!" (Reference to Scrubs there :P)

Rene barged open the door and quickly gained his breath. He took out his gun and reloaded it. He refilled his stockpile of spare bullets and checked his blade for any imperfections. He spun his blade in his hands and holstered his gun. He walked into the arena and spotted his opponent. He walked into the middle of the arena and slowly put his hand up in a "Come and get me" taunt"

"Bring it on small fry! May the best man win!" He readied his blade

Hejaloki ignored Testament. He saw Lucius over in the room. He walked up to him and whispered in his normal voice;

"So Silverwing heir can i have a moment of your time."

Lucius would see Hejaloki as his true form while all others saw him in his disguise.
