The Soul Spear

Jin got a funky look, that was aimed at him, and Aira. Jin did not have anything against sharing a horse. but that he never said out loud.

Jin thought for it a few seconds.
"Well. that could work as well" He thinks for a few seconds.
"As long as you don't hurt, or kill them" He smiles

Yaldamar replies with creepy smile, then he looks at Aria and says...

''Well, lass, where is the nearest stable?''

Aria led them to a stable she had passed when she had entered the city. She and her two companions entered and Aria strode up to the stable master without hesitating.
"I'd like to purchase some horses for me and my friends."
It was strange referring to them as such, but she didn't think on it long.
"What kind of horses my lady? I have pack horses, riding horses, plow horses, and even a few war horses."
The man chuckled a bit, but Aria didn't find anything humorous.
"We just need riding horses, 3 if possible."
He put stroked the short beard stubble on his chin.
"That's going to cost a pretty amount of coin. I'd say 75 gold pieces."
Aria almost choked, it was much more than expected. "I've got about 50..."
"That ol get ya two horses, no more no less."
She looked over at the duo. "What say you Yaldamar? 50 a fair price for two horses?"

''Leave this to me, Aria.''

Yaldamar walks close to the stable master while giving him a cold look. Then the pirate drags out his rapier and places it on stable master's throat, close enough for a stab.

''We would like three ride horses. We are kinda in hurry so heres the deal.''

Stable masters swallows and says to Yaldamar while keeping his throat steady.

Stable master: ''Y-Y-Yes?''

''Give us three horses, for free, or else you won't be swallowing anymore.''

Yaldamar easily pikes stable masters throat to be sure he will accept the deal. Stable master started to sweat and then he mumbles...

Stable master: ''Y-Y-You c-can take any h-horse for free, s-s-sir.''

Pirate sheathes his rapier and gives a creepy smile to stable master. He turns towards Jin and Aria and says...

''Well, lets pick the horses and get out of here.''

Aria looked down at her feet in disgrace. She had served the poor stable master on a silver platter. She had expected Yaldamar to persuade him to a lower price, not scare him into letting them have the rides for free. Her gut ached a bit. Then she got an idea. She walked up to Jin and took his hand in hers. Aria shyly looked into his eyes.

"On second though, maybe we should share a horse? I'm not a very good rider. Please Jin?"

Jin felt sorry for the poor stable master.
The dude was trying to make a living, and 25 gold a horse, isn't too bad, considering the facts.
Aria more or less doomed the poor man, sending Yaldamar on him.

Jin sighed somewhat, and was about to turn, to get a horse.

Suddenly, Aria walked up to Jin and took his hand in hers. Aria shyly looked into his eyes.

"On second though, maybe we should share a horse? I'm not a very good rider. Please Jin?"

Jin was struck down, why did she come up with this now. Why not before she sent yaldy on him.
And how could Jin refuse this request.

"erm.... Sure" jin managed to mutter out.
He was not one of the shy type. He was just struck in confusion for a few seconds.

Aria smiled.

"Thank you Jin. You can pick the horse, I wouldn't know what to look for..."

Lies. Aria was a fine rider and had been trained to find a strong horse when she needed a fast get away. All things she had learned from her previous life under her former lord. She didn't miss those days.

She looked away from Jin. She felt bad for lying, but she couldn't take a horse that she didn't pay for. She decided that she would leave the 50 coins there in the stable and hopefully the master would find them.

Jin shook out of it. back to his normal self.
there could be millions of reasons to do this.
Jin sighed, and walked outside to look at the horses.
He didn't have much training in horses, but he could ride.

He inspected them, various things.
Such as; Reaction to loud and sudden noises and basic look. He even tried to push them over, to see the balance.
Yes, his methods where unorthodox, but as a thief, he had stoled his share of horses in the time. And he had never been wrong before.

"Ill take this one" Jin stated, as he came out of the stables, with a horse following. It was a mare. Black as night, with a slight purplish shine.

Since horses for sale, didn't have names from before, to make it easier to their new owners, Jin had to name her himself.
"hmm.. name....." he pondered for a few. Until it seemed as and idea came.
"Bella sounds nice, don't it" Jin smiled.

He walked over to the stables again, and fetched the saddle, and nessesairy items. And after some time, Bella was ready.
Jin mounted her, and awaited Aria.

Aria moved to the side of the horse and mounted with little effort. She put her arms around Jin. She said nothing, but she felt her cheeks reddened. She stayed silent again, back to her shy reserved self.

Yaldamar also gets out to look at the horses. While Jin was pushing the horses, pirate chose the brown one with white stripe on the head. He goes with horse following to stable. He fetches the saddle, other few necessary things and puts his rapier on side, then he climbs the horse.
After Jin climbed the horse he chose, Aria climbed Jin's horse too. Now that Yaldamar forgot where to go, he says...

''Well you two pigeons, you lead and I'll follow you.''

''Well you two pigeons, you lead and I'll follow you.'' Yaldamar stated to Jin, and Aria.
In couldn't really blame him for the pigeon remark, but it had to be revenged in some ways. Though, he sorta let it go, since Jin called Yaldamar a thing, earlier on.

"I believe it is that way" Jin stated, as he pointed the right way. "On horse, it should only take a few hours" Jin happily smiled. After all, time saved, is time earned. Or, it would be comparing it to the similar quote about money.

"HiYah!" Jin shouted, as he whipped the rains. the horse started its gallop. that again, started the trip to Havlad.

Yaldamar shakes the rope while shouting...

''Lets go!''

The horse immediately started to gallop and follow Jin in direction of their destination, Havlad.

They reached the village in the afternoon. Steadler had been restless the entire trip. Thermesa had taken controll more frequantly than normal. His obvious frustration had made Steadler a liabitity to the pair of them. Were they usually took the back roads, he was taking the main and direct most way. He didn't even bother to steer clear of travelers. The blood on his shirt, the knives in his hands, they look in his eyes, kept others away.

Thermesa had steered him onto hunter trails many times, but Steadler worked his way back to the road.

They had both rested poorly the past few days. They wanted to get to the village and out again as soon as possible. They were now in the land Steadler knew. He entered the surrounding forest for the first time in over two years.

How does it feel?
He didn't reply.

Halfway through the forest, a women swooped out from a tree. She was around seven teen also. Her black hair was loose, it fell over her face. She wore a black long sleeved shirt and a black skirt - it fell just below her knees and wasn't tight, she could move easily. Her feet were bare. She straitened her face and looked at Steadler through her blue eyes, her mouth tightened.

'You should not returned.' she said, her voice slighty high. She was surprised to see him.

'Kate, I need some information.' She winced at his voice, like it hurt her ears.

'Go! You are not welcome, understand?' she questioned, she now sounded stronger.

'I know,' he looked down.

'I don't think you do, you haven't realised it these past two years obviously. You don't know your self so how can you know why your not welcome.' she reasoned.

Steadler looked at her confused.

What is this girl ... Kate, saying about us ... I don't understand, Steadler?
'I haven't realised what? You are talking in riddles Kate. You aren't making sence.'

She shook her head.

Steadler?

'Steadler, you have to figure this out for your self. You can not become part of the village again until you do.'

Is she saying that your identity is a lie? False truths filling our shared mind.

'You aren't welcome here, leave now.'

'I can't do that, I have to speak to him.'

'No! I will not allow it! You are not worthy. If you wish to go through here you must fight me.'

Steadler stood there a moment, she was some one he cared about. 'So be it.'

His eyes turned red, Ther was in control, 'You are lucky girl, he is not allowing me to kill you,' she hissed.

A fist swung at her body, Thermesa flung herself back ward dodging the attack. She charged the now off balanced girl. Kate was thrown to the ground. Thermesa stood above her.

She thrust her hand into the earth next to Kates head. The stone exploded, the small nearby plants withered.

'Now.' Thermesa wispered, 'Let him past.'
All Kate could do was nod.

'I'm sorry, Kate,' muttered Steadler as he walked past the girl into the forest more.

A short walk later. The boy stood there.

'You came back!' he shouts, tears running down his face.

The boy hels a small dagger. It pointed directly at Steadler. The boys clothes had changed, he wore straight blue clothing now.

'I warned you! and you still come?' the tears become more aggresive. 'You don't remember do you?'

'No.'

'You killed him,' tears flowed,' You killed my father and brother. When you left the village, people followed. My father and brother were among them. I saw you, you grapped their throats one in each hand. I saw their faces slowly fade away until only bone remained.'

A look of horrer was on Steadlers face.

'Silent, huh, not even going to deny it? You killed them!' these words filled Steadlers mind. I killed them ... no it was Thermesa ... I can't use that excuse every time somthing happens. But It was her ... that was back when you ... I couldn't control her.

'Say something. anything.' sobbed the boy. He fell to his knees. The dagger clanged away from him. 'Please ....'

Steadler stood above the boy, he was speechless.

'...'

A tear slid down his face as we began to walk through the last part of the forest.

The people of the village watched as the man walked out of the forest, their eyes uneasy. The all knew who he was. They all knew what he was ... none knew him truly though.

The villagers hid their children from him, they feared him. A crowd began to form as he reached the first lot of buildings. They wispered things.
Steadler heard each but ignored them.

'Why is Steadler back here?'

'They have caused us enough pain.'

'Go away.'

'You aren't welcome.'

Each villager seemed to have something different to say to him as he walked past. News of his arrival would have reached the headman by now.
The headmans hut lay in the middle of the village.

Outside sat Kate.

'He will see you, Steadler.' she said as he approached. 'But I will have the knives.

He gave them up willingly ... he had no quarrell with the headman.

Steadler pushed opoen the door to the hut. Alone sat the leader of the village on a rug. The door closed behind him. The leader looked up, his brown eyes flashed at Steadler.

'Your back?' he said gruffly. The headman was bald, a giant robe lay streched out around his body. The headman was in his early forties.

'Yes ....' Steadler thought for a moment before adding. 'Father.'

A fist rammed into his face. 'You have no right to call me that.'

Blood ran from his nose as Steadler straightened.

Thermesa growled.

It's fine, thought Steadler. The last thing he wanted to do was to allow people from this village hear him speak to Thermesa.

'You should not be here.' he barked. 'It will be hard enough trying to keep you alive when you leave my hut.

'I needed to ask you something.'

'This isn't a favor is it.' he eyed Steadler suspiciosly.

'No, I need some information.'

'That I may help with depending on the reason.'

Steadler sighed. He was either going to get the information or be killed. 'There may be a way to remove a soul from a body, a weapon ... a spear to be exact.'

'A myth, you know that.' scoffed the headman.

'It is real. I have found evidence of that. In a note.'

'A note. I fail to see how I can help you them.'

'It was signed by the healer you called for me two years ago.'

'Out of the question! You are making up these lies for revengeful purposes.' claimed the father.

Kate walked in offering both of them a drink of water, and some fruit. Steadler excepted gratefully.

'I wish so ... but ...'

'Steadler, you must know that it could be a different man.' reasoned the headman.

Kate returned outside.

'I saw his writing when .. I ... was sick.' argued Steadler

The pair debated the topic for well over an hour. Finally Steadler's father conceded the location.

'He's in Havlad, a day or so walk from here.'

'I know.'

Everything is leading us to that city Steadler. We will find another clue there I know it. We should leave immediately.

'You may not return to this village now Steadler until you learn of the truth. You obviously do not know at the moment.' said the headman.

'I don't understand.' muttered Steadler.

'You will eventually. But until that time you should seek out your little spear.'

OOC - Okies there is a gaint sectret with my character revealed in this chapter (well the fact there is a giant secret). There is a chance that you could guess what it is .... read it through carefully - all the speech. You can guess but ask in private please.

OOC: to make things happen we will now end up in havlad.
---------------------------

After not too long riding, Jin could see the main gates of Havlad. Good, he was not wrong about the way.

After slowing down the horses, and guiding them into the stables.
Jin dismounted the horse, and flinged a gold coin to the stable boy.
"be nice to her" he smiled, as the stable boy bit the coin, and nodded in glee

"man, I think I getter get a cushion sowed in that seat" Jin stated.
It had been too long since he had Ridden. He was so out of practice, that it went out over his ass.

"Well. This is It.. Havlad" Jin stated, as he stretched his back.

After Yaldamar dismounted the horse at stable, the stable boy took the horse and Yaldamar stretches himself. It was a long ride to Havlad. Pirate yawns and says...

''Well, I are we going straight to Fcret or should we catch some Zs at Inn?''

Yaldamar yawns again and scans the area for a bit. He stretches his arms again and looks at Jin and Aria waiting for their reply.

"I'm not tired myself and I'd like to take a look around the village."

Aria had stayed silent for the entire journey. She stretched a bit and then put her hood up, a natural reaction to being in a new place.

"Jin, what would you like to do?"

The sun began to descend in horizon. Yaldamar takes his rapier from horse and again scans the area looking for a bar or something alike. Then he says to Aria and Jin...

''Suit yourself. I am gonna go to clear my throat.''

And he leaves Jin and Aria at stables and went to look for a bar.
After three minutes he finds a small building with a beer glass sign on the door, he enters it. The place wasn't too crowded, there were two people dead drunk lying on tables and a bartender cleaning the glass.
Yaldamar comes to the counter and sits on barstool and says...

''A strong one!''

After saying that, pirate flips a gold coin on counter and gets a dark brown ale from the bartender. Yaldamar starts to slowly sip his ale.

"Jin, what would you like to do?" Aria asked, st the same time the pirate left.

"Well." Jin started "I can sleep later if needed" he smiled.
Jin was a night person himself, perhaps something that came with his profection.
Also, being with good company, never failed a good night.

"Ok, here is the deal" jin turned towards Aria. "You decide, whatever you want to do. As long as it don't involve myself and pain, I'm in" He smiled.

Aria smiled. She wondered how long since she had done so, probably not since childhood. She felt her cheeks redden. She also hadn't blushed this much, well...ever.
She looked around and then shrugged her shoulders.

"I suppose I just like to take a walk around the village and then meet up with Yaldamar at the tavern."

She smiled brightly again.

"walk around the town, eh?" he thought for a second.

"sure, why not" he answered with a slight smile.
he had taken a liking to her, after all. She was cute.
he had to ask her how old she was later on.

"Well." he started "you have anything special you want to see, or just random wandering?" he asked, while looking at her.
