The Soul Spear

''Sure.''

Yaldamar comes to Steadler throws another arm over his shoulder. Yaldamar and Aria left Jin to pay the bills. They went upstairs, dragging Steadler on stairs, and when they finally got up, Yaldamar asks Aria...

''Well, what number is the room?''

Aria looked at the key. A number 2 was engraved into the pewter.

"Two."

They pulled Steadler over to the room with the number two burned into the wood and she opened the door with one hand. They drug the boy into the room and layed him on the bed.

The room wasn't much with a small bed big enough for two to barely fit was the biggest thing. There were two chairs, a wash bin that sat on a small table, and a window that faced the back of the inn.

Aria stretched her arms out after they laid Steadler down.

"So who's this fellow?"

"So who's this fellow?"

''This is Steadler, lad with two souls.''

Yaldamar sits on one of the chairs and then he continues to talk...

''I met him when I was raiding Valactia. He was hunting a creature for some reason that I don't know.''

Pirate now drags out the heart that he got from the wraith.

''This is that creature's heart. Before we fought it, Steadler shifted his soul with other one, it was more violent and cold - Thermesa is its name.''

He puts the heart back to pocket and continues...

''But apperantly Thermesa was weak against that monster's spells, so he made another soul shift to bring back main soul - Steadler. He gave me hints to kill the creature, but when I defeated it, earth swllowed him.''

Aria listened intently as he spoke. After he finished she took a seat in one of the wooden chairs. She thought back to his words once again. Yaldamar had told her she had two souls, apparently like this Steadler fellow. The other soul Thermesa had taken control, she was violent, dangerous....it reminded her of….

"You told me when we met that I had two souls as well, why do you believe that?"

''The other day when Jin and I found you, you were crying. And also killed some guards.''

Yaldamar looks at Aria's eyes.

''Why else would you regret killing those guards? I was watching you this couple of hours and you don't seem like a bloodlusty person.''

Aria lowered her head. She didn't speak for a few moments. She thought about all the people she had killed. So many, some with families, some that begged for mercy. She had not known any mercy then.

"I've killed many people Yal..."
She finally said.

"I've killed people who were defenseless, people who I'd never met until my blade ended their lives. I am blood thirsty... I'm a ..."

Her voice quivered as she struggled to finish the last word.

"..monster."

Aria stayed silent after that. She was waiting for him to say something, probably tell her she was right and that she should leave.

"My guardian will take care of the bill." Aria stated.
Jin sighed, he had brought this upon himself.
Well. Aria had initially planned to pay for the horses. Though it was yaldy that got them. so he would not nag about paying his share.
but Aria, and the other dude, had to chuck in.

The barkeep turned towards Jin.
"that is 1 ale for you, one for the girl, 3 for the troublemaker, as well as the things that got destroyed. You payed for the first Ale. so the rest comes to 2 Gold coins."

jin looked into his leather purse. He had
4 gold coins, and a few silver.
he payed the 3 gold coins, and was glad that they could turn in the heart the next day.

The barkeep smiled, "Thanks. 'your' room is number 2"

Jin didn't reply, he just walked up the stairs, and opened the door.

"So. since I'm paying, I think....... Umm, whats going on here?" he interrupted himself, when he saw Aria not too happy.

Yaldamar laughs but not so loud.

''You haven't killed all those people, the other soul did. It wasn't your soul that did all that genocide...''

Yaldamar was interrupted by Jin entering the room.So he didn't continue the topic he and Aria were talking about.

Aria was surprised at Yal's words. She appreciated them, but she didn't believe it. She had killed those people. She had been raised a killer and all of those people's blood was on her hands, not some other supposed soul in her.
She was thankful for Jin's interruption.

"Nothing... It's a little hot in here is all."

Aria stood up and moved towards the window. She pulled up the shutter and let the cool breeze run over her face. She stayed there with the wind, looking out into the village.

"nothing, eh?" Jin asked, there was clearly something. If they wished for Jin to be in the dark, so be it.

"So." jin started towards Yaldamar.
"You made one heck of ruckus there, I had to pay for it. However, I will leave it, since you got me a free horse." jin smiles.

Jin enters the room, and sat down on another chair, the last one in the room. making Aria's chair, still avalible.
"So, Yaldy, we cash in the heart tomorrow, if that is fine by you"

''As I said before I didn't made that ruckus. The woodcutter started it when he hit me. And as for the heart, yes we cash it tommorow, if we can get some sleep here.''

A small spider started to walk on Yaldamar, so he hits him with finger.

''Or we will be covered in spider net till morning.''

jin laughed at the spider web thing.
thought this is highly unlikley.
jin still came up with a snappy reply

"Don't worry.. Yaldemar. If that happenes, I'll protect you"
jin cracked up after. He knew the pirate might throw something at him ,but it was too tempting to do,

Yaldamar laughs with a bit in angry tone.

''Don't make me to do ruckus that will cost you more money.''

Aria paid them little heed as they bickered back and forth. She gazed silently out the window and suddenly longed to be away from them. She was dangerous, second soul or not. She didn't look at them as she climbed up and sat on the window seal, letting her legs hang out the window.

"I'm going to go for a walk."

As soon as the last word was finished she dropped from sight, leaving Jin and Yaldamar with gaping mouths.
She landed easily, the first leg catching the ground allowing her second leg to balance her in a kneeling position.

Her training had never in the least bit faded. She moved quickly as she sprinted through the alley. She wasn't sure what her destination was, but she was sure she didn't want to be in that room when the Steadler fellow woke up. She dreaded what he would tell her.

Jin froze for a sec. And turned, only to see the end of Aria's hair dissapearing out the window.

"umm - Did she just leave us? She owes me for the ale." Jin said wit ha slight sarcasm, as well as a hint if truth.

Yaldamar stands up and looks through the window and sees Aria sprinting into distance. Then he looks at Jin and says...

''Leave her for now, she needs time for thinking.''

Then Yaldamar again sits down on the same chair.

"so. if you know she needs time for thinking. I take it you know why. Mind filling me in?" Jin asked dryly.
He really wanted to know, about why she became like this.

''Aria and Steadler both have two souls. While Steadler already accept that some killing was made by other soul - Thermesa, Aria still didn't accept that fact and blames her own soul, not the evil other, but her soul for doing that.''

Jin was in a state of confused'ness.
he got the basics. But still.

"o....k...."
A quick shake of his head, and Jin was 'normal' again.
"so. the deal here is, that their body, has 2 souls, and this 2 personalities. And one is nice, and the other evil." jin sat back, and looked to the ceiling

"well. this explains a lot. Though, it also makes more questions."

Aria ran until she reached a main road. She stopped and leaned against a building for support. Her heart was pounding. She felt as if she was loosing control, she wanted to run more but her lungs couldn't handle it.
Her mind raced. Aria hadn't meditated the day before or even rested. She felt exhausted which was not common of her.

She gazed down at the ground and realized she was standing in a puddle. She looked at her face in the water's reflection. Her eyes had dark circles around them, they looked... She fell back suddenly as if she had seen a ghost. Her face became flushed and her heart raced even faster. Had she just seen herself or was it a demon? She pictured her eyes in the water. They had turned red for a instant.

Aria's breathing then became violent. She closed her eyes and tried to calm herself. Then an voice shattered her further. It came from inside her mind, but it was not her own.

"Yes... you've let yourself become weak...tsk tsk.... and now I am in control."

A villager pulling a kart noticed Aria breathing hard and walked up to her to see if she needed help.

"Are you alright girl? Are you ill?" He offered a friendly hand to help her up.

She excepted it with hesitation. She stood with him but didn't answer his question. She hadn't opened her eyes yet and when she did…

The villager gaped as he stared into her burning red orbs. He started to say something, but the words were stopped with a sudden burst of pain in his belly. In a motion almost to quick to be seen, she had unsheathed her katana and run him through.
He coughed up a good amount of blood as he crumpled to his knees.
Kyara grinned wickedly. She basked in the sounds of his tortured breathes and when he was just seconds away from passing, she lifted her leg to his shoulder and kicked him off her blade. He fell to street, dead.

Kyara surveyed the road which was empty except her and the fresh corpse. Anticipation gripped her as thought of all people here she could murder. She thought about starting the building next to her on fire but no, she'd wait till there were plenty of people running so she could catch them in her flames. She started walking then, off to find her next victim.
