The Soul Spear

As Yaldamar was sipping his drink a big muscly guy with a woodcutting axe enters the tavern. Guy sits on the barstool and puts the coin on counter. Bartender takes the coin and asks the big guy...

Bartender: ''The usual?''

Big guy: ''Yes, please.''

The bartender takes out a big glass, three times bigger thanhis hand, and pours a black ale in it. The big guy with single sip drinked half of the ale. The big guy starts the conversation with bartender...

Big guy: '' Have you heard that apperantly three people, wanted in Valactia, were travelling here?''

Bartender: ''Well this is a tavern. Drunk people talk a lot here. But who knows, they even might arrived here in Havlad.''

Yaldamar raises his head and looks at two of them. The three people they mentioned are probably he, Jin and Aria. But he says nothing and waits to hear the rest of he conversation.

Big guy: ''If they arrived, they will receive some smashing from me.''

Pirate laughs out loud. Bartender and big guy looks at him, and then the bartender walks a bit closer to Yaldamar and examines his face.
A moment later sweat passes through bartender's face. He makes few steps back and mummbles...

Bartender: ''T-T-Thats him. Those t-t-t-tattoos. Its Y-Y-Yal...''

Yaldamar didn't await for bartender to finish the sentence so he says...

''Yaldamar, you mummbling snail. My ship sunked and I had no other choice but to travel here.''

The big guy stands up and looks at Yaldamar. Pirate stands up and sees that the big guy is a meter higher than him. Sweat passes through Yaldamar's face.

"I haven't been here before so I don't really have anything special in mind."
She folded her arms and looked down at her feet.
"Lets just look around for a bit."
Aria unfolded her arms and began walking with Jin at her side.

The wasn't much to see in the village of Havald. It was obviously a trade stop for merchants because carts were parked everywhere and there were two inns. There were a few houses, but Aria figured the rest of the villagers lived nearby or in the forest. There were a few shops, most likely the product of traders who decided to settle down there.

Overall there wasn't anything of much interest, but Aria enjoyed non the less. She felt comfortable with her new companions and comfort wasn't something she was really used to. Her experience was telling her that it wouldn't last. Aria fought against the thoughts of despair, not wishing to spoil the afternoon. But something had been tugging at the back of her mind since her new journey had began.
Aria thought about Yaldamar's word's when she was persuaded to join them.
I want you to join us. I once met a person with two souls, and believe me the other soul was more violent then main soul.

His words had been strange and yet, she felt like he meant them.
Aria stopped suddenly in mid stride. She looked down at the ground, letting the hood shadow her features. She didn’t want to Jin to see her face if it betrayed her insecurity.

“Do you know what Yaldamar was talking about… I mean…he talked about a second soul… and I was just wondering…”

She didn’t finish. Her cheeks became red hot, this time with anger in herself. She shook her head and didn’t finish. Pain gripped her nerves as she recalled all the instances of waking up with a village burning down around her, or going to sleep, then waking up just to find corpses strewn about her feet, her blade bloodied, and she herself uninjured.

the other soul was more violent then main soul…

The word’s echoed again. She shivered. Her breathing quickened and became deep.

Jin mainly followed Aria. he had been here before, that is how he knew about the magic dealer.
The place hadn't changed a bit. Most shops kept open for ages, until closing for a day.
nothing here had a preset open time.

“Do you know what Yaldamar was talking about… I mean…he talked about a second soul… and I was just wondering…” Aria suddenly asked

Jin thought a little.
"no, I cant say that I know much, or anything about." jin did not notice her getting mad, or uneasy. he just continued replying

"I did however overhear yaldy and one that claimed that he had 2 souls. And in that case, one was a girl. And the main body as well as the dominant soul was a male" Jin became somewhat confused.

"If I remember correctly. The girl soul was rater violent, and evil. Compared to the male one" Jin sighed
"Well. I didn't talk to him.. her.. umm... Alone, ask Yaldy later on, he was the one to talk to him."

At this time, Jin noted that Aria wasn't paying attention and seemed uneasy.
he walked over to her, and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"you ok?"

Aria jumped and pulled back from his hand just as it touched her. She looked up at him and then breathed a sigh of relief as if she had been expecting to see a demon. She regretted pulling away from him instantly.
"I'm sorry... it's just..."
She couldn't really find words to explain and didn't want to waste his time.
"Nothing...lets go find Yaldamar so I can ask him."

Big guy: ''So you are the pirate that many people fear off. Whats your bussiness in this village?''

''I am just staying here for the night, I didn't came here for any trouble. I will make trouble in the port town.''

Big guy: ''Well I won't allow that!''

The big guy makes two steps towards Yaldamar and punches him in stomach. Pirate flew off and hits the wall. He stands up with his right hand on his back and says...

''Arghh! You'll pay for that you scumbag of an woodcutter.''

The big guy became even more angrier. He starts to walk towards Yaldamar and readies his right fist to smash Yaldamar again. But pirate grabs the nearby chair and throws it at big guy's face.
The chair breaks on impact with guy's face and he steps back with hands on his face.

''NOW!''

Yaldamar runs towards the big guy and kicks him with his right foot. But it looks like it did no harm to big guy, probably because muscles were too hard. The woodcutter laughs, like it tickled him.

''What? You are so stupid that you don't feel the pain?!''

Jin really sucked to comfort anyone, so he had no choice, but to leave it at that.

"sure. I he mentioned that he was going to a tavern, and I only know of one in this part of the town" jin replied, he was not 100% one ht streets, but he knew the important locations.

He lead Aria to a nearby Tavern, with severe ruckus inside.
"this cant be good" jin said to himself, as be walked towards the door.
Jin opened it, to see Yaldy kicking a huge man, but to no effect.

"umm, you need help?" jin asked, in confusion

Yaldamar hears Jin and turns his head towards the doors. He sees Jin and Aria standing there and replies to what Jin asked...

''Leaves this musclehead to me.''

After he said that, the big guy grabs pirate by left arm and throws him to other side of tavern. Yaldamar, again, hits the wall but this time he lands on his feet.

''Do not interfere!''

"umm..." Jin stands somewhat confused.
Yaldy seemed to be on the weak side here.

"ok. I give you more time, but I will end it if it looks like needed" Jin replied.

Jin turned to Aria. "so. you want an ale?" he asked with a smile, while yaldy had his own things to worry about.

Aria's instinct made her put her hand on the hilt of her katana.

"so. you want an ale?"

She gave him a puzzled look.

"Shouldn't we..."

But Yaldamar had said not to interfere. She loosened her grasp on the sword.
"Sure...I'll take an ale."
She followed Jin to the bar and took a seat.

Jin sat down at an avalible barstool.
he summoned the barkeep, and stated "an Ale" as he flinged a silver coin on the counter.
the barkeep cought the coin in mid air, nad nodded as he brought a worn mug.

He filled it with the brown liquid, and sat it on the counter. "here ya go" with a rusty voice.

"so" the barkeep started "what will you h.." his eyes looked over the girl. not in a perverted way off course.
He leaned against the counter. and asked "you, girl. How old are you?"

Aria sighed. Her age had never really mattered in the bigger cities.
"Uhmmm... I'm sixteen, is that a problem?"
She looked a Jin as if to say sorry. She was little bit embarrassed.

he barkeep sighed
"Im sorry, I cant serve you. You are underage. If you had your Gua*"
Jin interrupted him right then

"Oh, don't worry, Im her guardian" Jin said, while sipping to his ale
"You" the bartender said while looking at him, "how are you related?"
"that is of no concern, the idea of a guardian, is to be sure that she don't go overboard, and to take responsibility if needed." Jin replied. "so. I take full responsibility, so don't worry" he finished as he took a big sip of the ale

"Very well" The barkeep replied in a slight annoyance.
"here ya go, girlie" he said, as he put a worn mug with brown liquid on the counter

Jin had no quarrels lying. Well. he was in fact not lying per se.
he just took responsibility if anything should happen. He was just glad that no one blamed him for Yaldamar.

Jin put his ale on the counter, and looked to Aria
"Comon, the ale here is great" he stated with a smile.

He was somewhat disappointed, she was too young for his tastes. so it could never be anything more then friendship.
However, hopefully, she would turn out a great friend. The question now awaited:
how would she react to this.

Aria took a long swig of the liquor without breathing. She had plenty of ale since she had been out on her own. She was confident she could handle herself unlike the bartender who gazed at her while she took another long drink. He shook his head and gave Jin a questioning glance.
The warmth that filled her stomach was nice and for the moment she forgot about the whole second soul deal. She instead continued to nurse her mug and smiled brightly at Jin.
He had been very good to her so far and she enjoyed having him around. The warmth spread up into her chest as she gazed at him and she wondered if it was from the liquor or something else. She didn't think much on as she gazed at him.
"Cheers to you my guardian." She lifted her cup in the air.

Jin could do nothing, but smile, as he lifted his mug, and slammed it against Aria's.
then came the following long sip.
he really hoped he could hold her Ale.
it would really suck if she would make a commotion.

Well. Jin decided to take that as it came.
He looked happy at least. Hopefully not the alcohol that did it. if that where the case, she should not have more.

This, and a lot of similar things went through Jin's head, as he smiled. After the mug met the counter. Jin wanted to relax. So he started leaning backwards.
Though, realizing that he was sitting on a barstool. Which do not have back support.
He almost met the floor. But managed to get back in balance.

"So" he started. "We have an ale. Yaldy is having fun. What now?" Jin asked with a smile.
The fact that yaldamar had made a ruckus, under an hour after they entered Havlad, was just fitting his image.
The thing jin wondered about. Was what to come.

Woodcutter was closing towards Yaldamar, and then he stops. Big guy grabs a table and a chair and throws it on Yaldamar.
Yaldamar with great haste pulls out his rapiers and starts to swing it around with great speed. The oncoming table and chair were cut down to dust, and when Yaldamar finished with swinging, he sheathes his rapier.

''Oh, please! Lets not ruin the nice ornament of this tavern.''

After Yaldamar told the joke, big guy now charges, like bull, on Yaldamar. Pirate had to make a quick decision and gets an idea. Yaldamar runs toward rampaging woodcutter and slides down between his legs. Big guy hits the wall and makes a big hole in it.

''Ouch! That has to hurt.''

While big woodcutter was in dizzy state, Yaldamar grabs his drink and sips it all. Woodcutter got out of dizziness and again starts to walk towards pirate. Pirate rams the glass on counter and says to bartender that was gazing at Aria.

''Keep it coming!''

After saying that, Yaldamar climbs on the counter and awaits woodcutter to close enough.
When big guy was close enough, Yaldamar jumps from the counter and hits him with right leg into the head. Woodcutter falls on floor. Yaldamar walks to counter and sips from his ale. Then he overhears Jin saying...

Jin: "We have an ale. Yaldy is having fun. What now?"

''Hey, I was here sipping my drink till this woodcutter hit me. Apperantly I am not just famous at seas.''

Woodcutter regains his conscious and stands up, but was still dizzy. Yaldamar drinks almost to half of his drink and then he takes off his robe and throws it on Jin.

''Keep it for me for a short while.''

Pirate closes towards the woodcutter and hits him with right fist in the head. Woodcutter made few steps backwards from the impact. Then again Yaldamar smashes the big guy in the face, and then again. Woodcutter's mouth and nose bleeded, and the he falls down making tavern shaking. Pirate comes to counter and drinks the rest what left of his drink.

''Ahh, this barfight refreshed me.''

"heh. local earthquake" jin says to himself

Jin throws the Robe back at Yaldamar, and smiles.
"Rather ironic that using energy, would refresh you" He was liberally, and obviously ironic. A poor, but funny joke in Jin''s eyes.

Havlad Post

------------------------
OOC - The plains are a random rocky place, not sandy, that has little shrubs, plants and wildlife on it - not that Steadlers there long.
I just lost my phone and said to myself - that's either a good thing or a bad thing. <hmmmm?
----------------------
He stood outside the village, no doubt the people were debating whether or not they should chase him. It was getting late in the afternoon, if he walked quickly he could get to Havlad before nightfall. He began to walk through the forest.
Kate awaited at the edge, where the plains began. A bag was in her hands and his weapons.
'The villagers will be out her soon. You must go, Steadler.' She offered him the bag. 'Take it, your father gave it to me. It's some food and money.'
'Thanks.'
'Come back safe okay?'
She waved him off.
'Oh, head these words. The one that offers they self with probably survive.'
He turned to ask what she meant, but she was gone allready.
He was nearly across the plains when he looked back, a crowd had begun to gather at the edge of the trees. The villagers gave up the chase half way across the plains. Steadler was hungry and and drowsy. He checked the contents of the bag and grinned. It had been over two years since he had drunk coffee.
He was more awake by the time he set off, he was planning to reach the city before in a couple of hours. That meant he had no time to sit around and enjoy the scenary, not that Thermesa would allow him to any way.
He swung the back across his back and begun to whistle.
Stop that dreadful noise, or at least whistle a tune. Jeez
'Quiet you!'
He decided it might be better in silence.
---------------
OOC - lol pure random bit that was
Yays I founds my phone
--------------
The light began to fade quickly, Steadler forced himself onward, he knew the area here well and wouldn't get lost easy. He continued on silently to walk along.
The gates to Havlad were being closed as he reached the city.
'Wait!' he shouts to the guards.
The two of them turn to him, 'come on then, get in quick. Kids, stayin' out late.' he says to the other.
Steadler walked through the city thinking, his hood pulled over his face. The grey looked dark in the night time, the streets were still fairly busy no matter that it was the evening.
He wasn't going to seek out the healer tonight though. He was tired, he hadn't slept in two days. But at the moment he felt like a drink.
He noticed a tavern.
He pushed open the door, he only just noticed it was a little banged up and busy before a screech entered his ears. He tried to cover his ears but it was as if it was in his mind. Thermesa wailed as well.
Steadler looked frantically around for the source, he noticed a pair sitting at the counter. The sound came from the girl, yet she wasn't doing any thing.
Steadlers vision faded, his mind pierced with pain. Thermesa shouted at him. Everything became a blur.
'Arggghhhhhh!' He shouts gripping his head. Steadler falls onto the ground, he had lost conciousness. His eyes remained open, flashing grey then white.

Jin heard a scream, and a thud.
he turned around, only to see a person lying on the floor.
Jin got of the chair, and ran over to the person. As he took of the hood, he recognized the person, but couldn't really remember.

As he checked, he had a pulse, and was breathing. Most likely just unconscious.
As jin took another look, he remembered him.
It was the dual souled dude. he who dissapeared into the ground.

"Heh. yaldy would find that interesting"
jin thought to himself.

Well. the kid would live, it was all up to him when to awake. So jin did the easy thing. He put a few chairs together, and lied him on those.
at least he was off the floor, and not in the way of anyone.
The rest was to wait.

Yaldamar puts on his robe and then suddenly he hears a scream. He turns around and sees a person lying on floor. Jin paired up some chairs and put the unconscious person on it. Just before he checks who the person is, he says to bartender...

''Pour in another one.''

Yaldamar leaves the glass on counter and bartender fills it with another dark brown ale. Pirate examines person's face and gets surprised. It was Steadler. He makes few steps backwards and says...

''Thats Steadler, I thought he was eaten by earth.''

Then the pirate comes to the counter and grabs his drink and drinks a bit from it. Je turns to face Jin and Aria and says...

''Well we better rent a room so we can place him there and await till he regains conscious.''

Aria eyed the unconscious person that Yaldamar had called Steadler. He seemed to be her age. She figured he must have been the person they were there to find. She finished the last of her ale and turned to the barkeep. "We need a couple rooms."
"I've only got one vacancy at the moment."
Aria shrugged. "We'll take it." He slid a key to her and she motioned to Jin.
"My guardian will take care of the bill."
She moved to Steadler and threw one arm over her shoulder.
"Can you give me a hand Yal?"
