At this moment in time im playing House of the Dead OVERKILL. This game is so much fucking fun. I cant believe they never included an online co op though and kept it local only. I think it holds the record for the most swearing in a game. The story is very cheesy, Its made out to be very B movie-ish and it reminds me of Robert Rodriguez' movie planet terror. A narrator tells the characters story although characters talk for themselves etc. Its a rail shooter which means your characters move by themselves and you fire your gun. Its quite basic. You earn points through killing zombies and making combos. Each level had lots of hidden items which give you more points and trophies. Saving civilians gives you a huge boost but if you kill them that boost is taken off your points. When you die you can restart exactly where you died but at the cost of half your points. The more points you earn the bigger cash reward you earn at the end of the level. Money lets you buy weapons from the gun store and upgrade them etc. You can replay any level at any time which is a good strategy to earn cash early on to upgrade your initial weapon which will serve you well through most of the levels. This game is dead cheap nowadays so id highly recommend picking it up if you want a fun game to play. Its one you can pick up at any time and not tire of.

The other game im currently playing through is Nino No Kuni which was recommended to me by Squid Im not far into it but i love it so far. Visually its one of the nicest looking games ive ever seen, but i expect no less of Studio Ghibli. So far its a good RPG with a good battle system. Its been a long time since ive played an RPG that ive really enjoyed and because of that im hesitant to buy one but I trusted Toni when she said it was one of her favourite games and i dont regret buying it one bit. It has those anime cell graphics like in Dragon Quest 8 but far far better. The battle system is similar in that you can see the enemies in dungeons and on the world map etc. When engaged by the enemy you enter the battle system which is unlike any ive played before. You can actually move about the battlefield freely but you select your commands and what you want to do from a little menu like in traditional FF games. You can choose spells or physical attacks or even summon little creatures which you can control and use to battle, switching between them and your main character when you wish. So far its not been the hardest of games but whenever i take to the world map i always like to boost my characters level up quite a bit before proceeding to the goal area. Even still i was encountering monsters which were giving me a run for my money and were forcing me to heal myself. Again a great game. I dont know how many hours it takes to complete but as an RPG im guessing its gunna be around 30-40 hours. I hope so anyway. I payed full price for the game £44.99 but as i said i have no regrets at all buying it. Thank you Toni for recommending it to me :D x

Just recently decided to boot up Zelda: Majora's Mask on my Wii again. Rather than deciding to splash out on new games when a) I've spent way too much money at uni during term time and I'm not in any fit state to be spending up to £40 on things like Tomb Raider when they'll drop in price eventually; and b) I'll barely have much time to play anything, I just decided to raid my backlog. After Xenoblade, I've nearly forgotten that my Wii exists. It was probably coated with a neat veneer of dust, so it was a case of blowing that off, wiping it, setting it up and seeing what forgotten things I have from the Virtual Console service.

I just beat the first temple and the first boss after a bit of swearing as I was plodding around the temple trying to find the map, compass and boss key like an idiot for a long time. The problem with playing this game as it is on the Wii now is that half the time I am fighting the controls, rather than the enemies. It can be trivial annoyances, like whipping out the ocarina when all I wanted was to slap the Deku mask on; to things like having difficulty snapping an enemy on target to blow a bubble or fire arrows at it while the camera is just so atrocious at times. It's jarring when I've been accustomed to the more refined cameras of more modern games, and the inability to freely move it around when desired took some getting used to. On top of that, the frame rate very visibly stutters from time to time, leaving me wondering how relatively underpowered the N64 actually was.

But otherwise, I'm enjoying the game, despite the ugly, mudded textures that have not aged well at all. The last time I've touched this game was approximately four years ago when I was still studying for my GCSEs, and it's assuring to know that I'm doing a lot better than I did back then. I didn't have the best experience with Majora's Mask at the time. I was a bit of an idiot, so crucially important game mechanics were forgotten, or unregistered because I wasn't paying attention, and as a result, the game's time constraints became a lot more frustrating and unnecessarily difficult. And particularly so when I got stuck. You can imagine my frustrations when you didn't have/know the following things:

Song of reverted time --> slow down time. I didn't know you could do that when I first played this game.

Bunny hood "mask" --> doubled on-foot travelling speed. I didn't have that either, until now.

Song of Soaring --> warp-travel to stone owls in the game. For some reason, I didn't know this was a thing until now.

So I think I can actually comfortably complete this game now, without the desperate need to rush through the areas and dungeons as quickly as humanely possible for me while frantically glaring at the on-screen clock, praying that the time doesn't run out.

I am currently playing the Sega Ultimate Collection on PS3 but in particular Columns.
I can't get enough of that game. I've wasted hours of my life sitting there stacking blocks and it never gets dull. If I didn't have other things that needed to be done I'd probably waste my entire life away on that game lmfao. As a kid I used to play it all the time and I was really good at it but I have found my skills in the block stacking department have diminished and are almost non-existant now :( The highest level I've gotten to is 25... and that was a fluke!

I is playing so much FF8 right now it's not even funny. Solely to level for the bloody viewers who want me to be at level 100 with everyone :hmph:. I would have done it anyway though. I've just chucked some music on and ran in circles for maybe 5 hours today and about the same yesterday; the things I do for you people! :rage:
...I joke, I've gotten so addicted that it's passing by pretty quickly.

I've decided that until FF8 is finished, I'm not playing anything else, other than doing a bit of leveling on Persona 4 Golden now and again. I'm at Naoto's dungeon on that one...which is turning out to be ok, other than that status ailment that makes you lose sp every time you attack :sad3:.

Heres a list of what I'm playing currently.

PS1- Legend of Dragoon
PS2- .hack//G.U. Vol 3
PS3- Resident Evil 6 Story/Mercs/Onslaught
PSVita- Ragnarok Odyssey/Plants Vs Zombies
PSP-Super Robot Wars Z2.2
PC- SD Gundam Online

so far mostly spending my time on RO/RE6 for trophies close to platting both lol

Dishonored

The game is a different change of pace for me. I really hated it at first, because I'm used to saying fuck the rules I'm Rick James, bitch! and etc. I still really have no love for the combat as far as swordplay is involved, haven't played with much of the magic.

It's just an odd game to me, picked it up without knowing anything about it. Thought I'd just be assassinating everyone that pissed me off. I mean, you can, if you want to. But the appeal wears off really fast, I don't feel like you'd really have that many options, even with magic. Maybe they meant for it to be that way, but it's pretty boring to put an assassin in the cover of a game when avoiding pretty much any and all unnecessary confrontation seems to be the focus.

Solitaire.
I am the Solitaire master. It's not a particularly good game as there are some that are impossible. However, I am very good at it. My best time is 94 seconds, which is probably a world record. To get a time that fast you must utilise the right click.
The last game I played I finished in 138 seconds, which okay, but not great.

I'm playing Final Fantasy X. So far it's been pretty good. I really like the battle system so far. Lulu is my favorite character so far as well. Both in battle and in story. I'm just so happy I made it past Kilika Woods this time around. XD

Bioshock Infinite
PS3

I am currently playing Bioshock Infinite and I am enjoying it a lot despite being worried about it freaking me out. It's a little bit eerie but not so much that i can't continue on and play. I just got Elizabeth and i think I am about to meet my first Patriot enemy which kind of has me scared. I love the graphics and how much detail the game has in it. I don't quite know much about the story yet so I can't comment on that. Characters are amazing though Booker and Elizabeth are adorable <3

Just finished Infinite your in for a treat Squid, best ending ive seen in forever.

That being said im gonna start Resident Evil 6 tomorrow, since it came in Saturday :D

L.A. Noire

I feel right at home in this game's setting. I don't think I've ever played a game where I got to be the Cops. Rockstar just gave me GTA and was like "hey, heres a game where you can be a gangster and shoot some cops, kgo" and i was like "fuckin' A". I love it, it's a lot of fun to comb crime scenes for clues and look through your evidence to make accusations stick.

sometimes the evidence for accusing people gets a little ridiculous though... I mean seriously a guy is sitting in a police station being interrogated, you ask him if he has a history of violence, and he fuckin' lies about it.

Aside from that, I'm having a lot of fun with it. But fuck Jack Kelso man, guy gets chased by assholes in bulldozers and has auto aim problems. :rage:

I'm currently on a 2 week easter break, while I got a game engine assignment to do and other stuff, I am aiming to get Persona 4 Golden done by the end of the holidays, I'm currently in naoto dungeon, great game, sadly it still only on par with number 3 xP

Still playing Bioshock Infinite. I'm going kind of slow because while i am enjoying it a lot I do find it to be a tad scary still and it's a miracle I'm even playing this game at all really haha. I just met a Handyman for the first time too :damon:

Inbetween playing Infinite and Pokemon Heart Gold i am also playing through Shining Force II with Lewis, we are just playing through the story at the same time (seeing as it isn't actually a two player game) It's pretty fun, it's an old Sega megadrive game so iit looks really really old but the battles are good fun and the characters are cool and I am liking it a lot so far 8)

I am playing Bioshock Infinite. I got it a few days ago and I am about halfway through. This is my first Bioshock game and I can say I am enjoying it very much. It is not the ordinary FPS where it is just run and gun. The story is really good so far, I really like the magic powers and of course Elizabeth. Elizabeth is so awesome and I love
that she can open up tears
She is actually a very amazing AI and I love the way she takes care of herself and scavenges for Booker and sometimes she finds points of interest by herself. Riding on sky rails is quite awesome and I like that about the game.

My favourite thing so far has to be how alive the game feels. The NPC'S, Elizabeth, and the narrative are really well written.

I honestly thought it would be just meh at first but boy was I wrong. It is actually a fantastic game. Although Booker does not have a face to the name(only in the beginning with the mirror and some other parts) I still feel like there is a reason for it. Shocking the heads off of people is just brutal. I actually did lots of exploring as I hate rushing games. The beginning in particular where you do not have a gun yet was so full of life.

I want to even give 1999 mode a go. I do not care if it kills me to pass it. I hate the Handymen and sometimes the patriots. The patriots are really annoying,

Chrono Cross at the moment. It's fun enough, but it's not in my top RPGs. The battles are different and fun, but you stop gaining stats after a few battles (until you fight the next boss), which isn't a good choice imo. Makes fighting pointless and I like my level-grinding.

At least most of the characters seem to have some back story though, even though there are so many of them. The music is pretty amazing too...and the graphics (which shocked me). The cutscenes have the quality of Kingdom Hearts...but it's a PS1 game! Love it ha.

Whether I'll play it again for a second ending...I'm not too sure yet.

Well in the mix of a lot of games, mainly to do things a bit differently. In CC going different routes for char recruitment and gonna try different endings now. Also gonna restart Star Ocean till the end of time, may try with different chars but mainly gonna try and beat the end game dungeons. Let's see also in the final stretches of beating Final Fantasy 8 again and in the last part of beating Xenosaga 3 for my first time. So I am playing a lot of games atm and stretching myself out alot xD.

Skate 3

sometimes it's hard to believe people pay for these games. i'm getting a few more achievements then sending it back :wacky:

Suikoden 2

I had to start over, though, because I accidentally saved right before doing the one on one with Flik at the beginning without being at full HP. I got through it and am now at Muse, where we have to go to that inn in order to get a permit to gain access of Muse entrance.

I've tried beating this game countless times all because of not being able to get past Luca Blight at the castle when you split your people into three groups. I'm tired of it, now, to be honest, but this is a great game so I want to beat it and see what happens beyond that point. I remember when I played this game for the first time...it was amazing. =)

Final Fantasy VIII

you know, it's like you're 14

you pop a squat and play one of these games and it's reasonably difficult

but almost 10 years later you've learned all the tips and tricks and you have so much health that your critical health threshold would be a suitable maximum hp threshold so you're spamming limit breaks, have a full set of double magic for three characters after the dollet mission, obtaining diablos right after acquiring the magic lamp, and just generally shitting on everything

i wish the limit break system in this game was not so wonky, both in ease of accessibility and it's dubious selection of finishers :wacky:

Currently playing the Last Remnant, its one of the games Ive had for along time but never beat it since it sucked and I found it unplayable. But now that I gave the game another chance I think its pretty great now aside from slow load times. I havent a played rpg since Tales of Graces F which was a few months ago so it feels good playing a rpg again instead of a shooter, fighting, action type game.

Imcurrently stuck in level grinding mode where I have 0 intentions of moving the story forward until I get my characters where I want them skill wise which is taking me forever to do since I dont have alot of time to play games :/
