[V2] Last Movie You've Seen

TANGLED

the movie about Rapunzel by Disney.
Their first 3D princess Film and first Princess film to be given a PG rating.
May I just say this is one of the most amazing movies i have ever seen in a long time. I recommend everyone to go and see it.

Amazing cast of voice actors to go with the equally amazing character designs and stunning graphics! Story is good too :D

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

I just got done watching this movie for what was probably my 30th time watching it. I fucking love this film. It's so twisted that it's watchable... Yeah, that makes sense. :hmm:

Good (2008)

It's a drama about a German writer during the rise of the national socialism between 1933 and somewhere around 1943. He writes a novel in which he talks about euthanasia and then the German authorities (the SS) recruit him. After that, he has a rising career in the SS but he's torn between his morality and his engagements.

I like dramas and I love movies about Nazis, not because I admire them but because I'm fascinated about how that regime worked and how the almost succeeded in controlling Europe. Viggo Mortenser plays really well his role and the story between his character and his Jewish friend is very interesting. I would give this movie a 8/10 although I didn't really understood the meaning of the ending.

Tron Legacy

Incredible! It's been a movie I've anticipated since the comic con teaser surfaced in 2008. So yeah... the two year wait was finally over. When the teaser was shown at the comic con in 2008 a Tron sequel wasn't even confirmed or planned yet, but due to the popularity of it, a sequel was greenlit and what better underrated movies to deserve a sequel then Tron. I consider myself a fan of the first 1982 movie and while it being a computer movie it was a bit over people's heads for 1982, that's probably why it didn't do so well then. The most advanced home computer at that time would've been a Commodore 64 and BSD or some Unix operating system would've been the OS for the time, back in the days of text commands, no graphic user interface (GUI). Microsoft and Apple were just starting back then. Linux wasn't created till 1991 from Minix. So as you can tell the first Tron was rather ahead of its time.

In the current day of Tron Legacy we have more advanced technologies advancing quickly. Information which can be accessed in seconds within a few keystrokes. Super computers like Sequoia or Roadrunner in New Mexico which can make trillions of calculations per second. So this movie is made more appropriate for the time. The movie I have very little to complain about, visually it's great and one of my favorites, film score is incredible and fits well with the movie, Daft Punk did very well. The story isn't too hard to follow even if you haven't seen the first Tron, although it wouldn't hurt to see it to understand Tron Legacy. I will say Tron Legacy has more to do with Kevin Flynn and Clu than it does Tron. Overall it really is a fun movie and I look forward very much to being able to watch it on my big home theatre.

9.5/10

Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Yet another excellent film in the Narnia series and it was well worth the money to go see in 3D. The plot was great, the themes were strong and the journey was emotional. It was nice to see that Peter and Susan make cameos, despite them not being there this time. I found the whole
beauty thing for Lucy quite chilling in particular. That flash to an alternate world where she's Susan instead was really scary.
I did find Eustace an annoying little brat at first, but grew to like him when
he turned into a dragon
and for the rest of the film.

I'm also so glad that Ben Barnes dropped the strange accent this time around, it really didn't suit Caspian for the second film. A highly enjoyable film, I would definitely recommend it to those who love the series.

10/10

Pride and Prejudice (the remake with Keira Knightley)

10/10. I watched this for what has got to be at least the 20th time last night. This movie is a personal favorite of mine. Keira is stunning in this movie and I love seeing the story from her point of view. The romance is subtle, but the end makes me cry. This is such a beautiful story...with beautiful music to accompany it. I think I like this movie so much because I can really identify with Jane, her sister. ...and I think Mr. Bingley is gorgeous <3 Its a classic and I totally recommend it.

Shrek

Was at the grandmother's today and this just happened to come on. It still feels as fresh as the first time, despite knowing what's going to happen next. Loved the plot, loved the characters and love the twists on everything. It's one of those cult classics for me that I'd buy on DVD and never get fed up of. Glad that there's finally been something decent to watch over the festive period.

Black Swan

I just got out of the theatre and I still have no idea what to think of this movie. The dancing was pretty good, but there was so much besides dancing involved in this movie. This is a mix of many different types of movies: psychological/suspense/thriller. Natalie played the part of Nina very well. I don't want to give the movie away, if you do decide to see it, be prepared to be shocked, like I was. I think its a movie that shows how far some of these dancers go to achieve perfection. I liked it, just not all of it 7/10.

Cars

...tell me, what did I do to deserve such cruel punishment? Disney Pixar films are either pretty good or unspeakably bad, and this was definetely the latter. The characters, recycled storyline, the entire concept...this is an all-new low. I DID laugh at the end credits with the random parodies, but that was probably the only good thing about it.

I'm not even going to dignify this film with a score.

The Crazies

7/10.

I'm never good at rating, but I did enjoy this movie. Although, it did seem kind of like a cheap "let's make a zombie-type movie..but...without the actual zombie storyline/zombies!"..but, it is George Romero. :britt: I've liked most of Romero's zombie movies to a point, so there's no reason for me not to like this one. It creeper me out at parts, and movies always get brownie points if they scare the shit out of me or creep me out.

It doesn't deserve a 9/10 or a 10/10..it wasn't super amazing, but it is a decent movie. You should give it a shot.

Tron

6/5 stars. haha

It was really awesome.
Great special effects
Amazing story
The whole score was composed by Daft Punk!!!
Daft Punk is flipping great
Perfectly Directed

Movie: Parent Trap

Rating: PG

Comments: I loved this movie as a kid!

Lindsay Lohan was actually a good actress once upon a time. I can't believe how much she turned out to be such a drugged up loser. =/

Anyway funny movie with a good plot.

Loved how the girls switched places in order to get to see the parent they had never known. =P

Great movie.

Score: 10/10

Movie: The Prince of Persia
Comments: As one who has pretty much played all of the PoP games in the Sands saga, this movie was quite beautifully made and seemed to have a different storyline than the games. The graphics and acting was masterfully done (especially the Hourglass chamber scene towards the end. Gorgeous!) There wasn't as much spamming of the dagger's powers as one would expect, and that's a good thing. The Prince is capable enough, and was not born into royalty, but adopted into it, giving the Prince a more down to earth personality.
Rating: PG-13
Score:
9/10

Movie: Matilda

Rating: PG

Comments: This was one of my favourite movies as a kid.

Such an awesome way of making school seem scary with that horrible headmaster. XD

I love Matilda's powers and how she was so different to that of her family.

Such a lovely movie. <3

Score: 10/10

24 hour party people

Basically this film is about Manchester's music scene between the late 70's to early 90's, with specific emphasis on the exploits of news reporter/founder of factory records Tony Wilson. It features several bands from this era, Joy Division and the Happy Monday's both play prominent roles.

Whilst I found certain parts of it enjoyable and the subject matter interesting, the film did bore me for the most part. However, I'd like to give an honorable mention to the recreation of the Sex Pistols gig which featured footage of the actual performance spliced with original footage.

6/10

despecable me minion madness and movie

Tron Legacy

Not what I expected, I wanted more survival games from a Tron movie... it has a nice beginning but it fails to have me interested for the most part. Cool special effects and sounds, awesome music by Daft Punk.

5/10

Gulliver's Travels

Went to see this in 3D today and thought it was hilarious. It was a shame that the rest of the people watching this couldn't detect the funny parts. It was interesting to see a mix of American and English actors in this film. Jack Black's really funny this and I'm not usually a big fan of his work. The ending seemed a bit rushed, though. But I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a barrel full of laughs. Just NOT in 3D because it was lacking terribly in that.

9/10

Mein Kampf (2009)

It's a German movie about Aldolf Hitler when he goes to Vienna in is youth to study art. The story took place before he actually tries a career in politic. I don't know if this movie has any historical value, because it seem that Hitler's personality has been caricatured. You see him as a very selfish, touchy and antisemitic person. I'm not an historian but it all seemed a bit exaggerated, or maybe the actor impersonating him was not very convincing.

It was overall and interesting movie, but I wouldn't recommended it unless you are really intrigued about Hitler's history and the roots of his ascension.

7/10

I just recently watched the Movie INCEPTION.

Great movie, I love the whole concept and idea of dreams. They completely fascinate me.

It also was lengthy, and I love movies that last a long time.

Another movie I watched recently was Moulin rouge. I love the music in that movie.
