[V2] Last Movie You've Seen

Movie: Harry Potter 7 Part 1

Rating: M

Comments: First off, I love Harry Potter. XD

Anyway, it was an awesome movie, though I can't help but feel that there could have been more action in it.

Other than that I was content. Just seemed like some scenes dragged on at times.

Really can't wait for the last part!

Score: 10/10

Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas

The animated 2003 version. I LOVE this film! A reasonably paced story with a lot of action, highly entertaining dialogue, and a villain you can actually take seriously. I wish more recent animated films were like this. Eris reminds me a great deal of Hades...only better ♥

The soundtrack is good as well. The Siren's song is more than a little creepy...

Movie: Pretty Persuasion

Rating: M

Comments: Seen this one so many times but I still love it. <3

It has my favourite actress in it Evan Rachel Wood. <3

Love how she always seems to get quirky sort of roles. I love that she's different and she always shows her emotions remarkably well.

She plays a manipulative evil bitch in this movie but is so subtle about it until the very end, even fooling her friends.

Love it. <3

Score: 10/10

Movie: Tekken
Rating: 7

It wasn't that bad, I don't even get why people dislike it so much. Of course the movie won't be exactly like the game and it will always be different.
I love martial arts movies so I had to watch this one. (also have two games of Tekken)
It did suck some characters who was about to make an appearance (on IMDB as example) didn't even show up in the movie! (Xiaoyu, Marduk etc)
Other than that, I liked it, the story could have been better, the characters were fine, Miguel and Steve were disappointing, where was their hair!! the others were good.
Goodlooking *ahum*
The fighting scenes were pretty good, only didn't really see many spectacular moves. Music was good too, no more negative points to say, so this movie gets a 7

Hitman

...and yes this is the movie that is based on the video game (which I personally have never played). This is probably the 15th or something time I've seen this movie...and I love it each and every time I watch it. The Hitman is the most efficient/badass assassin ever...and Timothy Olyphant is one of the most gorgeous guys to play him. This movie has sword fights, dazzling gun play, and the actors/actresses are sufficient enough in their roles...keeping in mind they aren't out to do academy award winning work in this because its an action movie. This is really a fun/no need to think kind of movie to watch. There's always action and you could never get lost in the plot. 9/10

Well my parents brought a copied disc of Tron Legacy and it was in spanish. I didnt really understand what the characters were saying but I did understand what was going on in the movie. The pictures helped alot. Well if I didnt understand I was looking at Olivia Wilde :ohoho: Anyway overall it was a good movie. I like how the ending came along despite not understanding the dialogue. I like how the real world and Tron world are shown etc. The action scenes were cool. Now I would give the movie a 7 out of 10.. maybe 8 if it were in english :lew:

scott pilgrim.

instantly my film of 2010. it was an interesting story, and just incredibly put together. as a film maker, i can appreciate how difficult it would all have been to pull off, and how much work everyone will have had to put into it, particularly the camera crew and post production team.
it's been the first film i've seen since shaun of the dead where i've bothered to watch the special features.

Oh hooray, I'd been meaning to find this thread again :awesome:

Saw TRON: Legacy :D The cinematography was amazingly done, and I'm very glad I saw it in the theater because the vast landscapes made a lot bigger impression on a big screen. From the trailers I had been expecting more action games, but the ones that were in there were great. Also, Michael Sheen never fails to kick serious ass with his unbelievable acting talent <3333 (He really should be more popular :mokken:) And though Jeff Bridges is creepy when he's evil, I really liked his portrayal of Flynn in this one.

I thought the story was great, and the emotional scenes were done well; however the one thing I didn't like was the ending, because it felt like
the only reason Flynn had to die was because for some reason no one was able to knock Clu's ass off of the bridge thing :| Seriously, that did feel kind of half-assed; if he had to die, they could have made it look a lot more necessary. I don't think he should have died anyway, because it felt too dark for something that was based off of an 80's movie; I bet if this had come out during that time period, Flynn would have made it home with his son and done some sort of cheesy comeback speech at Encom, which was what I had been hoping for :sad3: And also, it would be a lot more original and unique in this day and age to leave the parents alive in a fantasy/scifi story; it seems whenever there's a parent or older family member who gets involved (except for in Percy Jackson, which I enjoyed), they end up sacrificing themselves for the kid for whatever reason, and it's become kind of predictable at this point, I think :/
But oh well, TRON was overall a very good movie, 9.5/10.

Last movie I saw in the Cinema was Tron: Legacy

Rating: 8/10

Comment: Well basically, I haven't watched the original, but I got the idea of the whole story from Kingdom Hearts part of Tron, anyway I saw it in 3D and I have to say, I was a bit disappionted with it, there wasn't much 3D action in there, the only memorable 3D part was the guy with the grapple and when Sam first entered the Grid :/ Sam Flynn was quite hot though, and the storyline wasn't so bad, I did enjoy it, just wish I didn't waste money watching the 3D version.

Bounty Hunter

6/10

Well. It's a harsh rating, but this movie really disappointed me. It wasn't all that funny. The plot was kind of half-assed, and the acting was sub par. (Even if Gerald Butler was nice to look at.) You could watch it if you're bored, but it's nothing special...

3000 Miles to Graceland

8/10

I heard a lot of bad things about this movie but I finally got around to watching it. I'm a huge Kurt Russell fan so I expected to like him in it but I was pleasantly surprised by Kevin Costner (whom I typically dislike) as well. I thought these two played very well off one another and Kevin Costner did a fantastic job as the villain. Sure the movie was fairly predictable and not really believable but it was a good action flick and it was pretty funny to boot.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Truly amazing film. Though many will disagree, I personally find the movies to be a true delight. The action scenes, the CGI, the acting, the dialogue and the characters were great. I felt like Chris and Claire could have had a bit more to it and this movie definitely should have been longer, its one of those movies that are good, but could have used an extra 30-50 minutes to it to explain things. Like the Tunnel Zombies and the Executioner. Alice as always, but awesome and to finally see Chris (my man!) in the films, I was very happy. I was also happy to see him and Claire have their own cool duel with Wesker and his teleporting abilities and "Bullets can't harm me fools!" attitude.

So, here's my score.

10/10

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Another good film. It wasn't as good as its previous titles, but it was still fantastic. It introduces the kids' cousin, Eustace as a kid who doesn' believe in fairy tales or anything magical a child should. Eustace, Edmund and Lucy are sucked into a painting of a boat sailing through the ocean and thus begins another magical journey.

I really liked Eustace's development and his character, as annoying as he was in the beginning. It was still charming. A magical talking knight-rat ends up helping Eustace to believe in magic, worlds and the alike. Through the journey, Eustace becomes a kid and believes.

Its a very good film, I recommend it to whoever enjoys the movies or a good fantasy-world movie. Go and watch, or at least buy the DVD when it comes out. :sup:

10/10

A History of Violence

Rating: 9/10

I just saw this movie about two days ago and it's already one of my new favorite movies. I fucking love Viggo Mortensen and he did a really good job in this movie. I love how the film kinda plays with your emotions. The parts where it's all calm and pleasant with it showing the family's daily routines and stuff. And then whenever a serious moment happens in the movie, it's just gets fucking insane. The violence is REALLY graphic and I think that adds to the grittiness of it.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

I've always been a big fan of the Resident Evil series. Alice is such a kick ass woman, even still in this movie despite some drawbacks. This movie was such a change from the last few...its like they searched for ways to make the zombies bigger and badder...almost in my opinion copying things from the movie Silent Hill and the last movie from the Blade Trilogy series. Its a movie about survival...and betrayal. I originally saw this in the theatres in 3D (laughably my first 3D movie)...and I hated the the whole 3D experience. The glasses drove me nuts and I couldn't see very clearly through them, almost hindering my vision more than anything. So now I'm watching it on dvd and its much better. I felt bad some of the people from the previous movies weren't in this...I would've love to have seen Jill again, but :( Anyways, 9/10.

Devil

Without giving to away too much..It's a supernatural thriller about 5 people who get trapped in an elevator. Although it hasn't received the best reviews, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The idea behind it seemed pretty original (at least more so than other films of this genre) and the camera work was pretty good at conveying the whole claustrophobic feeling. Finally I liked how it wasn't too much of a gore fest, it still had some gruesome scenes but unlike other movies which tend to overplay the blood and guts, this film seemed to do it right without ruining the shock value.

8/10

Movie: Clueless

Rating: PG

Comments: I love this movie!

It's always been a favourite. Alicia Silverstone was so awesome in this. XD

Legally Blonde and Mean Girls are like the modern day version of it.

Clueless just felt much more innocent and fun though for some reason.

I was particularly sad when I saw Brittany Murphy though. =( Can't believe she's passed on! =0

Fantastic movie. <3

Score: 10/10

Season of the Witch- 9.5/10

Awesome. Went to see this movie just now, and it was really well done. It's hard to go wrong with Hellboy (Ron Perlman :P) and Nicholas Cage, but it was even better than I'd been expecting--the trailer showed huge, drawn-out battles and there was only a small amount of that. It was more of a creepy, psychological movie, with issues of religions and Crusades mindsets being discussed, and it was interesting. There was a lot of gross stuff, mostly involving
people dying of the plague
, but the directing was good, and it was appropriately dark in most of the scenes. Also, the ending was unexpected, and
though sad, it was kind of refreshing to see someone take this avenue with a movie in which they've built up the main characters to be likeable. It felt like it left open a new story by shifting the focus from the main characters onto a secondary character at the end
.

The fighting scenes were good too, and there didn't seem to be many plotholes even within the action scenes--"oh, why didn't that guy turn around in time" etc. The only thing that irritated me was the fact that the
exorcism incantation at the end had to be the longest freaking thing I have ever heard :ffs: I mean seriously, you would think that if a holy being passed that sort of thing down to humans, they would make it easier--it felt as though they were reading a whole chapter of the book or something. And it was good that it took the priest and altar boy a bunch of breaks in between it to successfully read it, because if you're fighting for your life, then you're not going to be able to just stand there reading an ancient text; but, still O_O
Anyway though, it was still a really good movie, and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something to do.

EDIT: Oh, and also, it had an unexpected cameo by
Christopher Lee
:awesome:

Temple Grandin

Follows the true story of a woman named Temple that has autism and went on to get her PhD. Knowing someone with autism this movie made me cry several times.

9/10

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World - 9.5/10

I am a huge fan of this film. Huge. For starters, Michael Cera is a great actor. He is a bit typecast now but I suppose it's because he plays the awkward geeky role so well. Anyone who's seen him in Arrested Development will know what I mean.

The film itself is extremely well made; Edgar Wright is a very talented film maker. The music is fantastic and the writing is genius. It's not a particularly long film which is probably a good thing. It could easily loose it's appeal the longer it went on.

My personal highlight of the whole thing is Mary Elizabeth Winstead... I love that woman.
