[V2] Last Movie You've Seen

Inception

Is there anything that I can say about this movie that hasn't already been said. Great visual effects. Well done choreography. Although, I did hate the ending. I hate when they feel it necessary to throw in a plot twist at the last TEN SECONDS OF A MOVIE!!! :rage: But whatever.

Megamind!
PG (I think)
I'd give it a 9/10!!!
if it wasn't for the 'dance scene' this movie would have been a 10!
its hilarious, the characters are super cute and funny, the animation is wonderful and I dunno its just so light hearted!!
One of my most fave cartoons in a while (besides Tangled) go and see!!

From Paris With Love

We got this in the mail a few days ago and we watched it last night. When I saw John Travolta I was like "ohhh man, I don't know about this." However, he was hilarious as a badass secret agent! This is a spy/espionage/tracking terrorists kindof movie with humor (Travolta) and an undertone of you wondering who is trustable and who is not. There was always action in it...and they blew a lot of stuff up. Overall, I thought it was very good. 9/10.

Tangled

An excellent film! It's been a while since I saw a great animated film like this one. The characters were believable and even though there were some scenes that I saw coming, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My favourite character just had to be the horse! He was so funny, especially his interactions with the bandit. This had so many laughs, I'd definitely watch it more than once.

9/10

Title: Dangerous Crossing
Year: 1953
Rating: Not Rated
Score: 9/10
Comments: I bought a multiple disc DVD set and this was the first one I decided to watch. Ended up being an excellent film. At first it was extremely boring and I felt myself drifting asleep but once it got to the middle it showed that this movie deserves to be called a thriller. It's basically about a newlywed's husband going missing on their cruise. She doesn't know him very well at all as they've just met a few weeks ago and married within a short period of time. They're brought into their room, and he suggests that she go off and watch the dock as the ship takes off. She returns to an empty dining table and waits for hours without him returning.

Season of the Witch (The new one! lol).

I normally dislike Nickolas Cage with a passion because he always acts...weird. Like he moves around too much, mostly just his head. Kinda of like it bobs it around every second.

Anyway, this movie was actually pretty good. Its about the Crusades and how the Church of God used God as a means Nickolas Cage doesn't agree with. They end up abandoning the Knights and travels the countryside.

They happen to come across a house, which they thought was empty, and find a couple dying of the plague. They burn the house down - OH NO! - and later enter a city. From there, their journey begins. Nickolas' character doesn't like it when the Churches just accuse people of being a witch and then killing them. He ends up having to take an accused witch to the monks to have a spell said over her to see if she were or not.

And then everything just...turns.

Its pretty good, I would recommend it if you like movies set in that time.

9.4/10

It didn't get a perfect score well...because of something. Maybe the ending...?

Green Hornet- 9.5/10

I honestly wasn't completely sure if it would be good because of how relentlessly it was promoted, but I really enjoyed it :awesome: It was really funny, and the action scenes were good. Cato was a good foil to Britt, and even the villain was humorous at times. It was a good modern adaptation of an older comic story. I would definitely watch it again :)

Season Of The Witch

On Gaminway's advice I went to go see this tonight. I thought it was really good...asides from Nick Cage :jtc: (No offense, he's just not my favorite actor). It was a really interesting movie about the paranoia that occured when people thought witches existed...like with the Salem Witch Trials I guess. The effects were really good for a pg13 movie, I was really surprised. For a rating I'd give it 8/10 I guess :monster:

Machete :lew:

If any of you have seen planet terror youl remember the advert at the start about a film about a crazy mexican guy called machete. Well they made it a full film.

jessica alba
robert deniro
lindy lohan
michelle rodriguez
and of course the dude who plays machete

Its a quality film though you cant take it seriously at all. Theres a part where he cuts open a guys stomach, grabs his intestines and uses them to absail down a building :ohoho: Another part i particularly enjoyed is where he shags his enemies wife and daughter at the same time in a swimming pool then sends the guy the video :ohoho: Its pretty fucking awesome.

Movie: Skyline

Plot: plot? what plot?

Comments: I didnt watch it.

Now your all probably looking at my comment going 'WTF?" but listen. THE MOVIE WAS SO TERRIBLE I REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE I WATCHED IT :rage:

TThis movie had no plot. Yeah. NO !@#$%^&* PLOT! The only part of the plot we larned of WAS RIGHT AT THE END! The acting sucked. the actors SUCKED (I was glad to see them die One by one. (Allthough two of them didnt die. ill get to that later.) Sad to see that candice girl die. I thought she was koolio. :ahmed:)

The movie starts off showing us Ailiens coming to earth in these huge space ships. koolio. then it cuts of to 12 hours before. ..prolouge....yay... but anway. the main charecters get off a plane meet up with some friends and PARTAY! then they sleep. Thats the gist of the 12 hours. OH and we find out the main charecter's girlfriend is Preggo.

Now were back at the begging.so an earthquake happens and one of the guys in the appartment wkes up when a light shines. so he checks it out. THEN this light covers him in some blue vein thingies. so HE WALKS OUTSIDE AND SCREAMS(Death one) idiot. in shortform the light drags you towards it to the ailiens so they gobble you up. So everyone wakes up and go to check it out. after spying out the window. Jarret and Terry(The main charecter and his friend) go to check onhis next door neihbour. Per se. and they find him hiding with his dog.(The dog is cute) they talk when an ailen OPENS THE WINDOW AND FLOATS IN! (Ala WOTW) so theres a struggle and the neighbour and dog die(Aww come on.....the dog is the only compentent charecter...bsides candice. OH and Death 3/4) anyway the aeiliens leaves and Terry escapes so him and Jarret to check it out...They see ailens sucking people up. and get chased by one. resulting in the Girlfriend Jen almost dying.(C'mon...Kill her off...)

SO they leave and attempt to escape. resulting in Terrys,Candice,Some unkown guy and girl,s Death(5,6,7 and 8 ) they also meet a new charcter!(Who dies an aweosme death BTW) so they hide out at his place for a while befor eJen and Jarret attempt to escape. after they leave the other girl who was travelign with them dies(Good. she insulted candice :mokken: and the new guy dies by blowing up an appartment buliding!(an awesome death on a stupid charecter) so we just witnessed Deaths 9 and 10~ KOOLIO

Back to jen/Jarret we see an ailen crash a helicopter. and Jen/jarret fight an ailen. after said ailien dies. they get sucked up and share a kiss. pathetic :/ inside the space ship we see Jarret get his head exploded( at this point i was siliently screaming " HELL YES") we see jen get transported cus they sensed shes Preggo and see Jarrets brain corrupt a ailen! said ailen is now jarret(me: WTF! STAY DEAD YOU IDIOT!) and ....IT ENDS! koolio.
All in all THIS MOVIE SUCKED! never watch it its for your own good.

^^^ SPOILER WARNINGS PLEASE, I was planning on putting that movie on my Netflix list, but you just spoiled it for me...

Anyways,

I just saw the Mechanic. It was a fabulous movie...all action, all the time. Ben Foster and Jason Statham did an awesome job, as usual. I'm not going to say much, but the movie is a bit similar to the Transporter movies...with Statham going around and doing everyone's dirty work. ...The ending was mind-blowingly awesome....a triple surprise ending. I loved it. So if you are into the Transporter movies or love the occasional action flick, this movie is for you. 10/10

The Terminal - 8/10

Starring Tom Hanks, Stanley Tucci, and Catherine Zeta-Jones (she's so awesome :woo:), this is the one about a man from a foreign country (they made up a fictional country for the sake of the movie) who gets stranded in an American airport. It's quite cleverly put together, and has lots of amusing moments in it :D Even though it was one of the movies on when I had my jury duty last Monday :jtc:, it at least cheered me up to see a movie that I already liked from seeing it a few times before.

Essentially, Tom Hanks's character
ends up having to live in the airport for a long time because his home country has experienced a government coup while he was on the plane, and his passport and other documents aren't valid due to the unstable state of his country. And the airport security leader, Stanley Tucci's character, is desperate to get Tom Hanks out of the airport so that he can be someone else's responsibility, in case he tries to do anything bad. Tom Hanks's character is completely pleasant and law-abiding, though, and he repeatedly thwarts Stanley Tucci's efforts to get rid of him just by being well-behaved :lew: It's really funny. Also, Tom Hanks has to find ways to survive in the airport without speaking much English, having no American money for food, and not having a proper bed to sleep in, among other things; and the way he solves the problems is quite clever, even though I'm not sure if anyone could get away with some of them IRL :D

But it's a great movie. The only reason I gave it an 8 is because
Catherine Zeta-Jones's character is sort of wishy-washy, and feels kind of just thrown in there for the sake of a love interest, when nothing really comes of it. She's one of the only actresses I absolutely love, and she played the part well (everyone did), but the character just felt kind of out-of-place and a bit unnecessary :hmmm:
Definitely worth watching though, if you like comedies with a hint of drama.

Movie: Legion

Rating: M

Comments: Nyeh. It was okay.

When I originally hired it out I thought it was something else.

Anyway, freaky shit. Didn't watch most of it. Had my fingers in my ears and my eyes shut whenever anything freaky came on the screen.

I like the idea behind it. It is different way to look at God and angels etc.

Score: 10/10

I watched Requiem for a Dream with my two frriends who were too blonde to get the message. :gasp:

My rating: 7/10

Requiem for a Dream is a crazy-ass movie about four people and how their lives are affected by drugs. We follow their lives for about six months, and as the story goes on, their life starts to decay into a spiral of bullshit, and a girl becomes
a prostitute so she can get money
for drugs, and then one guy goes
to jail
, then another guy gets
his arm amputated
, and another old woman gets an
eating disorder and almost dies, and ruins her chance to be on TV
. Very sad ending, and the movie is also known for its intense soundtrack named after the movie, that everyone has heard way too many times on fan-made videos on YouTube. The movie probably could have been longer, and the characters could have been more developed, and some scenes could have been actually a little more startling to shake things up. It definitely showed me how far drugs can take you, and I don't want to do any of them. This is a great movie that will teach you a good lesson, its not too graphic, but if you can't stand blood or disturbing looking wounds or cuts, then stay away.

Movie: The usual suspects
Comments: It was a great movie with lot of twists and action.

Movie: Easy A
Personal Rating: 9/10
Comments:
If anyone who reads this has ever seen and enjoyed the movie Saved, you should go watch this movie. Not the same thing, but a similar enough feel to be something of a spiritual sequel. If you haven't seen Saved, please go watch it - it's hilarious and well worth a watch.

Now, for the actual film Easy A. The basic premise, a girl is considered an absolute slut by her entire school but actually isn't, is not the most creative of things, but it's well put together and admits its inspirations openly (The Scarlet Letters is not just mentioned once, but is a major reference several times). The characters (well, the protagonist characters at least) are all very enjoyable, and the antagonists are the type of people you love to hate.

I don't want to say much about how events unfold, and it's pretty easy to guess at how it all works out in the end. What is really important is the little moments, the personal interactions between the characters that make for fantastic comedy or give interesting reveals. Best of all, the writers (and to some extent the characters) are extremely genre and trope savvy, and do their best to poke fun at the genre of highschool based comedy films while still making one.

If you read TV Tropes, this is a must see.

Title: Goodfellas
Year: 1990
Rating: R
Score: 9/10
Comments: :ohoho: Thank you Lewis.

Due to my newfound obsession with media containing stories on anything to do with the mob, this was suggested. :wacky: It was a fantastic movie. Suspenseful, very obviously, and had some extremely unexpected scenes
such as when Jimmy was planning to have Karen whacked... :ahmed: Asshole.
Had me attentive the entire time, and not many movies can do that.

Title: Resident Evil : Afterlife
Year: 2010
Rating: not sure, either 15 or 18
Score: 9/10
Comments: well, after a disappointing display from the last RE film, i bought this DVD, with hope that my friends actually had good taste in films, because they recommended it to me, they all went to see it at the Cinema when i was spending the night at home, granted i was ill, but they could have at least envited me, anyway. . .

The Plot was quite good, Explaining how
Alice was Annoyed at the umbrella corporation for making her superhuman (i wouldn't complain) and so she went after them, only to get made into a human again (DAMMIT)
I liked how they incorporated a few things from Resident Evil 5 (the game) and by that i mean
Chris Redfield Showing up, the control Chest piece thing, Wesker Being totally bad ass, the dogs and the Zombies
oh yea,
and the executioner. . . man he is awesome

there were other things i liked such as Alice's hobby (if you have seen it you will get what i mean) and them bringing back K-mart, the boat part was a nice touch, how it was
an Umbrella facility hidden inside a rusty beat down hunk of junk
and the only reason im not giving this Film a perfect score is because they left room for another Sequel, and personally i think that if they had ended it there it would have been a good ending to the RE Films, with
Wesker being blown the hell up (even though when they make a new one he will be back, surviving the explosion somehow) and all the survivors being on Archadia with safety and calling out for any survivors to join them

I believe that if they make another Film they will just be adding another Extinction-esc film and will make me not want to watch them again.

Movie: Disney's Tangled

Age Rating: PG :wacky:

Comments: Wow, this film is brilliant, the voice acting is simply awesome, I am a huge Zachary Levi fan and when I heard he was singing let alone acting in this film I was a bit WTF, but it was really really REALLY awesome and I recommend this film to anyone, the only issue I had with this film was the female antagonist whose voice annoyed the hell out of me most of the time, but it did not ruin this film. so yeah go and watch it :lew:

I could go on and on but I don't want to go and ruin it for those that want to watch it :mokken:

Verdict: 9.5/10
