[V2] Last Movie You've Seen

Movie: Final Destination 5

Comments: A lot of scary parts, one scene that get stucked on my mind was when the laser would slice the girls eyeball.

Rating: 6/10

Tangled

It was shitty. There was a lot of parts I really liked, but I hated how it was cartoon-ridiculous and computer animated at the same time. The silliness of a horse acting like a dog, the physical abuse these characters take, I couldn't fully enjoy it as computer animation. It would be like watching Elmer Fudd get smacked in the face with a bat by Bugs Bunny in computer animation. Just doesn't work, it can't pull it off.

And the singing. Jesus, that was stupid. The lyrics were a joke "brush and brush and brush and brush and brush and brush and brush and brush and brush and brush and brush and brush and my hair" like fuck off bitch.

Wouldn't watch again, wouldn't recommend it, but I didn't hate it.

I like Tangled.

I thought it was a great analogy of the modern day world and the overprotectiveness and over-authoritarianism governments exert upon a local populace in order to manipulate and control public opinion. It drew amazing parallels to the anti-intellectualism of post modernism and was bright hearted and infinitely preferable to the drab dystopian and nihilistic elements present in too many recent movies.

I would like to watch Tangled with a woman friend directly before we both had sex like wanton, lovesick, 16 year olds.

Death Note, the live action movie.

I've seen the anime and watched this movie before. Originally, I thought it was excellent, but I noticed a few plot holes! For example...

1. The news channels could have been told to stop broadcasting crimes. I know that Light breaks into the police files, but the news is partly why Light is able to kill. Surely the link is obvious to the police, the public, and the presenters... A crime is on the news, and moments later, the criminal dies... Uhm?
2. The police would have been able to track the hackings back to Light's computer.
3. Light's father would have been taken off the case in real life... His family is suspect. He loves them, so his judgment can't be trusted.
4. When Light becomes a suspect, the police don't check his computer for evidence. I am guessing that they would were anything similar to happen in real life.

Regardless, I still think it's pretty clever, and I love the characters. The live action movie manages to adapt the anime well, and retains the essence of the story. :)

The last movie I saw was Johnny English.

I felt that it was appropriate to watch it again as the new one is released at the cinemas soon right? Plus, I do love a mindless comedy from time to time and Johnny English really does deliver on this point.

If I had to give it a rating, I would say a sturdy and strong 7/10.

It makes you smile and gives you laughs, however it will not give you the most long lasting impression. It's perfect to lighten the mood and make you happy - but it's not going to inspire you or change your life ;).

Horrible Bosses.

Well I went into the movie kind of hopeful, Jason Bateman is one of my favourite actors, and I didn't think he'd stoop so low as to act in a shite movie but I was very wrong :(

The movie is about these 3 guys and their three shit bosses. Jason bateman plays a semi uptight business man with an evil anal boss, the second guy is some guy who loves marriage but he has a sexual deviant boss who wants him in the sack and the third guy is some horny fuck who has a dumb cokehead as his boss. It started out kind of normal, 3 guys with shit bosses but then it went ridiculous.

They decided that they were going to murder their bosses because obviously that's the best way to get away from them...then all this dumb unfunny shit happens and ughhh I was just face palming in the cinema.

There were some funny bits though I will admit, and though I am not a fan, Jennifer Aniston was actually hot in this film. She and Jason Bateman were probably the best parts of this shite film.

5/10

Total Recall.

I love this movie. It's probably the best thing I've seen Arnold Schwarzenegger in. It's semi-thought provoking at the same time as having fantastically cheesy one-liners, and having horrendous special effects which actually make dying in a vacuum / low atmosphere look even scarier and more painful than it actually would be. I'm surprised I've not had nightmares of those popping eyes and protruding tongues. :O

I've never seen it before, so I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't just an action film but had quite a lot of substance to it, I felt.

I've heard that they are remaking it, but I probably will not see the remake. They'll take out all the silly stuff and, worse still, they'll take out Arnie.

Rating: 9/10.

Last night was a bit of a movie night, so I watched a couple of movies.

First, I watched Scary Movie 2. They play this a lot on Friday nights now on MTV, but they take away a lot of the profanity and etc..so its not as fun watching it on network television :hmph: ...so I put the dvd in. This really is my favorite out of the bunch of them. I love the crazy talking parrot in it, and the beginning where they are all sitting around singing always makes me laugh :lew: The scary movies were so fun...and some of the better spoof movies that are out there. Its a shame they don't make them anymore :( 8/10.

...and after I watched that I put in My Best Friend's Wedding. I don't know why I love this movie so much...really I think its that I see myself as the Cameron Diaz type in this movie. Her character in the movie and I really are so alike its kindof ridiculous. Anyways, this is just a fun/sad movie to watch. I also love Dermot Mulroney in this movie, he's really nice looking :inlove: 9/10.

Goodfellas

You can't rate this movie /10. It's fucking exquisite and deserves to be described in words. No number scale can touch its excellence. I watch this movie at least twice a month. I'm such a fan of gangster movies, especially ones that take place in the earlier 1900s. The fucking lifestyle is what does me in.

It's awesome. Highly recommended.

Also, to those who loved Tangled: I don't care. Your taste sucks, the end

Cowboys and Aliens.

Started off very good, shades of classic westerns and the makings of a legendary story; it definitely had the potential to be great.

Somehow it never quite got there.

It was too predictable, the storyline too recycled and cliche. The high points didn't compensate for the overall 'blah' factor of the typical current era blockbuster.

The evil aliens were dumb and boring as usual. And, there was nothing new here to contribute to the numerous man vs alien movies which everyone has already seen aside from perhaps one scene involving the protaganist's lover which was perhaps much darker and more graphic than many may be accustomed to seeing in a western. But even if that was the most defining and explicitly heart wrenching scene in the entire film it didn't connect the dots well enough to make the movie anything more than a typical blah aliens film. :T

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I wanted to watch something Kate Winslet was in, and I saw pics of her and Jim Carrey on tumblr and was intrigued. Jim Carrey starring in a film with Kate Winslet. You bet your ass I'm gonna watch it.

And I fucking did.

No regrets, none at all. This film was incredible. I don't even know how I've never even heard of this movie before. It's not a funny movie, but it still has its funny moments and I actually felt emotional throughout a lot of it LOL. Great film, man. Go see it. Especially if you're into psychology and science fiction.

Abduction

I loved this. Taylor Lautner has finally proved to me that he's more than just a pretty face with gorgeous abs. He was very much like a young Jason Bourne in this film. It had me guessing who he and his neighbour/eye candy should really trust and why the hell he was being hunted in the first place. Whilst the reason for it was quite lame since it was for
a stupid list of names,[/SPOILERS] the action scenes were quite intense. There was a great cast and a good story. Can't complain about that. But the reason he's being hunted gets a point knocked off, shame.

9/10

Movie: Pathfinder

Rating: M

Comments: OMG the main guy is HOT!

I was like drooling every time his chest appeared on the screen.

Great movie. I love how he's the abandoned son of a Viking and that he was raised by the Indians.

He looks like a threat but is so nice and sexy. <3

Would gladly watch this over and over again.

Insidious

This movie was absolutely ridiculous. Its a bit of a possession movie where a child becomes posessed and all of this weird paranormal stuff starts happening around the house...but I really think they did an awful job with this movie. It went by painfully slow and the things that might typically make people jump or get freaked out really didn't phase me at all and I just went through the movie with a really critical view on it because of this. The ending wasn't that great either. There was a bit of suspense, but nothing all that surprising happened. If you are a real horror fan I'd definitely pass on this. Its nothing all that special in my opinion. 6/10.

Movie: The Scorpion King 2

Rating: M

Comments: OMG I love this movie!

I finally received it in the mail today and was all over it tonight. XD I bought the 2 disc set that has the first and second movie. <3

I totally forgot the ending though and I'm really keen on watching the first one now. The first movie is the one with The Rock and follows on from the second movies ending, as the second movie was made as a prequel.

I wanted to watch it tonight, but Steve was tired and I was too, so I'll have to watch it tomorrow.

Anyway, #2 is just awesome! I love the crazy goddess chick and the girl who is Mathias' childhood friend. She is so cute. XD

Basically about a young boy who watches his father die by the magic of a crazy guy who trains up the young warriors. He soon becomes the King and Mathias' must kill him in order to save innocent people etc etc. Oh yeah and because he had his heart set on vengeance! :gasp:

Definitely a movie worth watching!

Score: 10/10

West Side Story

Me and My sister watched West Side Story this morning at 4 AM, we had to stay awake and we didn't watch it all but we saw some of it, I can't believe some of the lyrics in their song! It spoke about abuse and Marijuana and it showed gang members calling people Spics and Wops(irked at that one since I am Italian >.<); didn't expect that upon my first time watching it, but My mom loves it, so I gave it a chance.

Pretty good movie in my opinion; 7/10

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

I watched it late last night and again this morning. I don't know what it is about movies that feature magic-type of elements, but I just love it. Pretty much this movie is some kind of revision of Merlin, but it draws away from the fact of Merlin being the main focus, instead it's placed in modern-day New York, and instead of Merlin being the master, Nicholas Cage's character is master.

The main Antagonist is played by Angel Molina - who is mainly in Criminal-based shows as a guest star. I think he stole the show with this one. He played the bitter ex-best friend to Cage's character, and he brought the character - and the movie - to life.

Overall, a decent movie with some good humor.

7.8/10

Friday After Next

I love that movie. It's absolutely hilarious. I can watch it over and over for days in a row and not get sick of it. It's just great!

johnny english reborn

i was nicely surprised by it, because i was expecting a poor sequel. it's not quite as good as the original, but it's definitely worth a watch. there's some really good rowan atkinson humour in it, and some really excellt spoofs of spy films. the roof top chase was a particularly good spoof of the madagascar chase in casino royale, and it made brilliant satire of aging agents.

Scream 4

I finally got around to watching it last night :gonk: The begining was really, really irritating I was about to be like wth is going on here :hmph:

I was actually surprised at how much of the original cast was in this. I'm pretty sure that was Courtney Cox...with a ton of botox...or someone else :wacky: At times you were just patiently waiting for the movie to continue on...but I thought it was pretty good for like the third sequel to a movie. ...and what did Hayden Panitierre do to her flipping hair :rage:

...and as far as the movie itself goes, I'd watch it again. It wasn't horrible and the ending was definitely a bit of a surprise. I guess I'd give this an 8/10. Even though I hated the beginning :hmph:
