Talk To Me - Stevie Nicks

It's so ridiculously 80s. I love it. It has a super-catchy chorus, but the verses are quite deep. I love this era, the height of the drug-addles vocals and the fact that half the time I have no idea what she's singing... but it sounds good, this song always cheers me up.

Duncan Sheik- "Shopping" a gazillion/10

I'm pretty sure I've listed this song in here before, but it's one of my favorites; it's the epitome of a good cynical song. A critique on the shallowness of society, with masterfully written lyrics, and a mellow yet inspired melody that keeps you interested. It's quite ambient and lovely.

The Only Exception
by Paramore

I'm currently in a Paramore frenzy. I'm banging my head because I didn't actually think about listening to their songs... Because I thought they were just another screamo band with a female lead singer! (I dislike screamo, by the way, not female singers, in case this gets misunderstood)

RAWR. :rage:

So well, to make up for that.

The Only Exception. It seems to me for their latest album, Brand New Eyes, they're trying into some lighter genres of music, rather than their head-bobbing, and hard-not-to-dance-to tunes. I'm not sure about the lyrics of the song, especially the front part - whether it has anything to do with Hayley's parents, or what, but in any case, the lyrics were probably one of the most meaningful I've seen from them.

Definitely a choice I'll take up if I have my other half to sing to. The song is generally repetitive, but I think it is the 'climax', when she goes 'I've got a tight grip on reality...', where the song really shines. For me, I found that part to have the most emotional impact...

... So go listen to it. Now.

bring the light - beady eye
it's really weird, for a liam gallagher song. i'm really not sure what i think about the jools holland-style piano. it has a real 50s/60s swinging feel about it.

pink floyd - lost for words. i love the whole album (the division bell), its probly my favourite album ever :hmmm: its very relaxing but deep too (imo). in fact im gonna crack the ipod dock out, put my light on and just relax with this album on :ryan:

as a side note

Stand and Deliver - No Doubt

Their most recent song since getting back together, I know it's a cover song, but they've made it pretty good. It has a catchy chorus, and Gwen Stefani's voice is as great as ever. Really makes me excited for their own new material.

their cover is fucking awful. granted the original was a bit cheesy but it was the 80s after all.

Dj Tomcraft- Loneliness

10/10 for the addictive lyrics and an amazing beat. This has got to be an old song but its still sooooo good. Classic dance @ its finest.

Paradiso Girls - Patron Tequila [click to listen]

I heard this song when randomly searching for club music (was feeling the strong need to dance). And I found this song as well as a couple of others to be very catchy. It reminds me of how long it's been since I have had some Patron [I love tequila], and maybe I'll go for a hunt for it this Friday. Haha. But bottom line, this song is cute .

Starshell- Superluva rmx by Ron Reeser and Dan Saenz

I heard this on BPM maybe a month or two ago. I think its a really good going out or flirty-ish club song. I love the lyrics and the song just makes me want to go out, club and dance on the tables <3 ...I was also shocked to hear that Lady Gaga was the one who constructed Starshell. I think she did a good job though and the sound is fairly original (but very addictive) and I like it. As always, the remix is better than the original imo. 10/10

Turn it Off
By Paramore

My, this song's definitely one of my biggest favorite. Again, for both the lyrics and tune. I like how she hits the high notes for the chorus segment, as well as the guitar tune for the entire song. RAWR. PARAMORE RAGE :rage:

Matchbox Twenty- "Back To Good"

I love all of their songs, and this is one that's really speaking to me right now. It's always been one of my favorites, it's got really down-to-earth, honest lyrics that are oddly specific to what I'm going through atm, and the melody has a sweet, humble sound to it. I really like it a lot, and I listen to it all the time when I want to try to get things back to good. 10/10.

^ Rofl @ Rasmorya, Paramore addiction, much? I love their latest album. (Join the Paramore Club, fool!)

Playing God - Paramore

Omg. They launched the new music video for this song either yesterday or two days ago, and it's fucking amazing. I absolutely love it. This song has great lyrics. I kinda feel sad that Brand New Eyes is mostly about the troubles the band had with communicating, but at the same time it's a major lift that they write to get that emotion. Playing God is a personal song to Hayley, reflecting mostly on Josh, next to the rest of the band. (Hence the Paramore signature tribute :wacky:)

I commented on YouTube, and I really do wish these guys the best. Really do hope they can get their personal things sorted, 'cause I'd be devastated to see them break up.

Love Paramore. ♥

Far East Movement - Like A G6 [click to listen]

This song is played on our school's morning news all the time, which made me wonder how on Earth the administration approved of it. But I'm not complaining. I can't stop listening to this song for some reason. At first I didn't care for it, and now it seems to be the first song I turn on when I can't think of anything else to listen to. This song is probably an eargasm for Electronica fans .

She's like heroin - System of a Down

This is the first time I've actually gotten around to listening to this full album. I think Mesmerize was alot better. This album seems surprisingly weirder than their other ones.

Katy Perry- Firework (Dark Intensity Remix)

I'm starting to like Katy's music more and more I will admit. I didn't really like her first singles but I really like her new album...and I like this song more than Teenage Dream. She makes a song about feeling down perky and upbeat. The lyrics are catchy and you'll most likely end up having the song in your head all day like I did. ♫♪♫ Boom boom boom...even brighter than the moon moon moon... Its always been inside of you you you and now its time to let it through through through...♫♪♫ 10/10

Candlemass- Solitude

Doom metal classic in every sense of the word. To me, this song, as well as the band and album it is on (Epicus Doomicus Metallicus), defines doom metal. Everything about it: the lyrics, the riff, vocals, and atmosphere are definitively doom, and Candlemass takes it to a quality and majesty that few could match. I'd also say Swallow the Sun's version is on par with this.

Jumper - Bedlight for Blue eyes(Punk Goes 90s Cover)

While i love the original of this song, I equally love this version of the song. In my opinion, the singer's emotion into each word of this song make it what it is - epic. Aside it from being great in epicness, the meaning is jsut so inspiring, and motivates me to never go down that path again. :ryan:

Masterpiece Theatre Pt. III - Marianas Trench

The end of this song is like, fucking amazing. Their album Masterpiece Theatre has 3 songs named after it - the third is definitely my favourite. It has a mix of literally all my favourite songs combined in to one, HOW AWESOME IS THAT? It's on repeat. It was yesterday, and it will be until I go to work.

Vices - Silverstein

This song is just fantastic. Shane's screams and clean vocals are great, and along with guest vocals from the singer of Cancer Bats really made this song pretty intense. The overall meaning is just wonderful(as far as broken hearts go :lew:). I love how the production of this song was arranged, and definitely is one of Silverstein's best imo.

Love this song. :ryan:

Ignorance
By Paramore

Well, this one came from their latest album, Brand New Eyes. I find it to be quite an interesting song to listen to, considering how the lyrics of the song was rather sarcastic, and as usual, the general tune of the song. There's just this beat that's hard not to get all jumpy with - in a positive sense.
