[V5] What are you currently listening to?

This song has been actually stuck in my head for a couple days. It's a great song though. Em actually wrote this during a small break while on the 8 Mile set and he ended up recording it at some smaller studio. Lose Yourself became quite successful in it's release in 2002 and ended up becoming an quite an iconic song. Great as always though.

I reallly like that song^^ Mad fan of Eminem =)

ANYWAYS:

I heard this on guitar hero and couldn't believe I hadn't heard of it before. Its a really amazing song. What I love about this song is that it really breaks The Offspring's stereotype of being a funny band. Good Job my friends, good job!

Archangels in Black - Adagio

This song reminds me in many ways of Symphony X's "Paradise Lost" album, only not quite so heavy. Christian Palin reminds me a lot of Marco Hietala as well, only not as heavy. In all ways, this is a pretty lite song for me. xD

Exhibit B by Jay Electronica

15/10

He knocks this shit outta the park, his flow's sick. Omg, this guy's bigger than Lil' Wayne, bigger than Jay-Z, he just challenges all of the mainstream rappers out there.

A taste of what his flow is like: I'm bringing ancient mathematics back to modern man.
My momma told me never throw a stone and hide your hand.
I got a lot of family, you got a lot of fans.
That's why the people got my back like the Verizon man.
I play the back and fade to black and then devise a plan.
Out in London, smoking, vibin while I ride the tram.
Givin’ out that raw food to lions disguised as lambs,
And, by the time they get they seats hot,
And deploy all they henchmen to come at me from the treetops,
I’m chillin out at Tweetstock,
Building by the millions,
My light is brilliant.

And Jay-Z just signed him sooo this dude better be going places. I've officially gotten another MC crush now, this guy isn't a fucking rapper, he spits his life. And right now, I'm pretty certain with the beautiful poetic flow of his lyrics combined with the wonderfully sampled plethora of beats under his wing (dude samples from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind's S.T. that's crazy!), I think he can help revitalize hip-hop and wake the blinded people up.

Red Hot Chili Peppers- Can't Stop

<3 <3 <3 This song. This is my favorite song so far from them...besides maybe the Zephyr song. The lyrics are the best part of this song...saying so much of what you do is because you love someone else so much. I love the Peppers because they put a lot of effort into their songs...usually they have a killer beat and awesome lyrics. 10/10

Alestorm - Captain Morgan's Revenge

I love pirate metal.

Anyway, this is the titular track from Alestorm's first album, and has quite the catchy chorus if I do say so myself :) I think my favorite thing about the song and Alestorm in general is that they can pull off the pirate voices and still have their lyrics be readily understood. Typically with metal bands I have to give the song a few listen-throughs before I can really pick up the lyrics and what's all being said.

Not the case here.

Brenda Lee - I'm Sorry

Such a sweet, little voice, yet at the same time a very powerful one. I still can't believe Brenda Lee was only fifteen when she recorded this. Such a shame that older songs, as great as they are, are so short. I think the repeat button will solve that problem. :hmmm:

I'd seen this video when he'd first released it, and thought it was...bizarrely catchy.

I watch it again now and realize "Holy shit, so THAT'S where Lady Gaga got all of her costume ideas!" Seriously, the happy meal box skirt with the french fry box bra just about beats all.

Afrojack-Take over Control

This song has been an addiction for me over the past few months. I could listen to this forever and a day and not get tired of it. Its a dance song, but the lyrics are sexier than most I've heard.

Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back - My Chemical Romance(click for song)

Are y'all ready where you are?
Are y'all ready where you are?
Are y'all ready where you are?

Na na na na na, na na na na na
Na na na na na, na na na na na

Right now,
I hope you're ready for a firefight
'Cause the devil's got your number tonight
They say "we're never leaving this place alive"
But if you sing these words, we'll never die

Get off the ledge and drop the knife
Not a victim of a victim's life
Because this ain't a room full of suicides
We're believers, I believe tonight

We can leave this world, leave it all behind
We can steal this car if your folks don't mind
We can live forever if you've got the time

Na na na na na, na na na na na
If you save yourself tonight
Na na na na na, na na na na na
If you save yourself tonight

I'll tell you all how the story ends
Where the good guys die and the bad guys win
Who cares!
This ain't about all the friends you made
But the graffiti they write on your grave

For all of us who've seen the light
Salute the dead and lead the fight
Hail, hail!
Who gives a damn if we lose the war?
Let the walls come down, let the engines roar

We can leave this world, leave it all behind
We can steal this car if your folks don't mind
We can live forever if you've got the time
(Whoa!)
I'm the only friend that makes you cry
You're a heart attack in black hair dye
So just save yourself and I'll hold them back tonight

Are y'all ready where you are at?
If you save yourself tonight
('Cause we're coming for you)
Can you save yourself tonight?
Right now!
'Cause I'll hold them back!

We can leave this world, leave it all behind
We can steal this car if your folks don't mind
We can live forever if you've got the time
You motherfucker! (Whoa!)
You're the broken glass in the morning light
Be a burning star if it takes all night
So just save yourself and I'll hold them back tonight

Na na na na na, na na na na na
(If you save yourself tonight)
Na na na na na, na na na na na
(Can you save yourself tonight?)

I'm absolutely in love with this song. The chorus is what really drew me to the song at first, but then the more times I listened to it, the verses and how each instrument was organized, really kept me listening to it over and over again. Currently I have it on repeat, and that's not going to change for at least one more hour. The whole CD - Danger Days: True Lives of Fabulous Killjoys - is freaking incredible.

Take That - Greatest Day

This is far by one of the best songs they've ever released. The lyrics and their meaning are so inspiring. Gary Barlow's such an amazing songwriter, the best in the world in my opinion. The production was done very well and so soft until it really comes together in the middle. When they all sing together, their harmones are brilliant and it's fantastic.

Three Days Grace- I Hate Everything About You

10/10. This song is full of anger and emotion. I don't know how it is that you can hate someone and love someone at the same time...but I know you can as I've been there/done that before...and it makes you feel a bit helpless. Cool song.

Bright Eyes - Simon and Garfunkel

This song used to make me cry all the time when I was a kid...I grew up watching Watership Down, and this song played in one of the sadder scenes. These days it's just a nice little burst of nostalgia for me, and it's quite soothing...just what I need at the moment. Although I still can't help but think of that scene :sad2:

Jason Derulo- In My Head (Les Boyz Electro Remix)

10/10. This song is an amazing remix from the original. They play this more infrequently on BPM...but whenever I hear it I always have to turn it way up in my car. The effects, the beat, and the lyrics which are on the sensual side make this one bumpin' club mix.

Jay Electronica - Exhibit A (feat. Mos Def)

Introspective lyrics, very poetic, honestly I expect nothing but polished writing from this guy now. Mos Def definitely holds his own on this track, establishing himself as a formidable emcee; these guys aren't just emcees but they are wonderful poets of the written word.

I spit that wonder ryhmer shit
Me and my conglomerates
shall remain anonymous
Caught up in the finer shit
Get that type of media coverage Obama get
Spit that Kurt Vonnegut
That blow your brain Kurt Cobain
That Nirvana shit . . .
Who gon' bring the game back?

Very sick stuff. 10/10

Faces - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

The fact that this is an iTunes bonus track baffles me, it's totally amazing. She does some amazingly weird shit with her vocals, at the start of the song, it sounds like she's an old SNES game. Ridiculously catchy chorus too. Love it.

All American Nightmare- Hinder

How I love Hinder :ryan: Sucha great band, and an even better song. This song is so edgy and fun to listen to, it's gets me all pumped for some odd reason xD. I can't help but wanna bust-a-move whenever I hear this song. I love the lead singer's voice so rock n rollish it's amazing XD.

Great song and I could listen to it all day xD.

Staind- Right Here

I heard this on the way home today going 30 mph through boatloads of snow. This song reminds me of my ex :jtc: This was one of the songs that was playing while we were together...and after we broke up. I was always waiting for him :jtc:

Terro 3000 Gyal Dem Waan Mi

First of all, let me start off by saying that it is RIDICULOUS that this song can only be found on two websites: live365 (if you're lucky enough to catch it while it's playing.) and letsmix , and neither of them can you download the song from so I am RAGING that I can't put it on my eMatic player. But I heard this song last week on the reggae station and it was so catchy, and I managed to find a playlist on letsmix to listen to it on the computer repeatedly. But I love this song a lot. One day I will find it to download. I will . . .

Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me

Wow. Just wow. I was not expecting this. Whatsoever. Her vocals have improved significantly and vastly since the last single she released. The production of this song is impressive. I'm pretty gobsmacked she's come out with this. I do hope the video lives up to this amazing song. The chorus in particular is really catchy.

Fire - Ozzy Osbourne

I love his cover stuff, especially this song. It's fairly different from Arthur Brown's, but he carries it in a way that it doesn't feel butchered the way some covers end up feeling when a totally different sounding artist covers them.
