Give Your Heart A Break - Demi Lovato

I've been a fan of Demi Lovato for a couple of years now, so I've seen her music develop. Originally, it was more rock and pop, but her new album is more sophisticated. There a little R&B on it (which is quite different to anything I really listen to). I simply LOVE her voice; I can't quite believe she's only 19. She writes the music herself too, so there's a personal message from her behind every song. This one here is one of my favourites from her current album.

Brantley Gilbert's Kickin' it in the Sticks.

holding it down for the under ground by a day to remember

i have my itunes on shuffle all the time. so this thread can be my devil if it stays active..lol check these guys out. a day to remember is a decent band.

I know they're a decent band. Seen them live with my friend Dustin.

I'm rocking out to Old Man by Redlight King. It's a cover of Neil Young from 1972

the birthday massacre - sideways

i found this band by chance on youtube when i was researching for my radio show. was doing an all female fronted band show.. these guys impressed me a lot. i just had to include them!

Speaking of female fronts, I'm on Ghost Love Score by Nightwish. I love Tarja's voice, and it's such a good song. I love symphonic metal.

first of the gang to die by morrissey

this is a style of music that i particularly am not into but he is pretty decent. i first discovered him when i was at a local hole in the wall bar by my house.

I've never actually heard of that song of band. I'm going to have to look into it.

I'm on Cowboy Way by Hellyeah now. Going to see them live soon.

misfits - night of the living dead

misfits growing up were one of my favorite bands.. and still are. i had in high school 7 misfits shirts and wore them all the time. also my band s.o.l. started off as a misfits cover band.. i know almost all the words to ever misfits song still to this day and know almost every song on bass and guitar from their 77-83 years and albums.

I know they aren't the same anymore, but I opened for Misfits on Halloween last year. Great, great show. They have some fun on Halloween.

I'm listening to Karma by Kamelot right now. Good song, good album.

brainstorm - the pain is mine

a new band i found about a month ago.they kinda remind me of an incarnation of iced earth.. not bad though.. not something i am gonna bump in car when picking up a date or anything..lol but still a good band musically.

It's Myself vs. Being a Man - Inhale Exhale

Not sure why I like this song. Don't like anything else by the band.

mushroomhead - kill tomorrow

off their XX album, it was their mainstream break when mtv2 played them in regularly. after that album media promotion declined but they still kept making great albums.

fyi.. was gonna post kaelot but some one posted a song before me and i didn't want to double up on a band..lol

Our Lady Peace - Is Anybody Home?

"But baby it's okay, I said it's okay ..."

The Weeknd - The Knowing

The first time I saw the title of this song from Abel (aka The Weeknd), I was like, "oooh sounds ominous." By the first play through I was literally dumbstruck due to the sheer raw honesty of the lyrics. His first line goes a little something like this, "I know what you did ... I know ... so I'mma let you ... taste her. I ain't washin' my sins, I ain't washin' my sins." Abel laments throughout this whole entire song about a relationship founded on what was supposed to be full of trust and love and all that other sappy shit. What does this nameless girl do though? She goes and sleeps with another man, Abel finds out, and of course he cheats on her by sleeping with another girl, hence the origin of the first line. It's a deceptively simple idea that ultimately blossoms into a gorgeous song. I especially adore the bridge because it hit home for me, it's one of those, "You thought you could stomp on my heart and kill me but bitch I came back stronger," sort of lines. I've felt that way before. Anyway the bridge goes, "You probably thought that you'd break my heart, you probably thought that you'd make me cry." The best part of that bridge is when Abel ... poor, poor Abel forlornly sings, "But baby it's okay ... I said it's okay." This is one of the most intimate and heart-wrenching songs out of any of the Weeknd's songs I've heard thus far. It never fails to make me shed a tear or break out into passionate song ... in the shower ... away from curious onlookers. Lol.

10/10 for the gorgeousness of Abel's voice paired with Doc McKinney's masterful manipulation and tweaking of the Cocteau Twins' track, "Cherry Coloured Funk."

BONUS: And of course, for anyone who wants to see the even MORE amazing official video which is so fitting for the song ... check out the Youtube video embedded below. ^_^ It's all about that Haile Selassie! :P

I'm listening to What's Up People by Maximum the Hormone. Damn jrock thread got me going through my old folders!

This Could be Anywhere in the World - Alexisonfire

Just something I stumbled upon a few years back. The main singer....I am absolutely in love with his voice.
