Sunny Day Real Estate- "Guitar And Video Games"

Two of the best things in the world :inlove: This song has always felt like a personal anthem for me, in a weird, nonsensical-yet-epic sort of way. The lyrics only make a mild amount of logical sense, but somehow they describe my life pretty accurately. :hmm:

Favorite verse:
"How is it you feel when you run?/Ships won't come in in a bottle of mud/All this time looking for love, and you want to find peace and you find me/Mondrary fields where we run/See how it works with a bottle of rum/All this time hiding from death/And we want to be strong, but we find/The true story, a tale/Writing itself as we sail..."

And, "What if we refuse to follow the rules of fashion?"

Hammock - Mono no Aware

Just an amazing song. No lyrics or anything, but the melody is nicely composed and it has this tender, mellow feeling to it that just puts me at ease.

The video that accompanies it is really artistic in the way that it's done. Simply a girl playing on a playground by herself on a snowy day. She seems at ease and cheerful, but the end of the video portrays this deep sadness. Just amazing.

intro song to wild arms

in my opinion, this is the best nonvocal song ever. well the best nonvocal song in any video games. the whislting part is just amazing

Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony no. 5

I'm just playing every single song in my playlist at the moment. Just happened that this is the song it is currently at. If I recalled, Beethoven described this song with the words 'and Fate comes knocking'. Something along those lines.

Either way, I like how those lines describes the song rather accurately. Anyway, the song itself sounds decent enough. Quite enjoyable to listen to.

One of these days - Pink Floyd
It's a bit like Pink Floyd in microcosm, some very good stuff at the beginning, David Gilmour and Roger Waters playing bass and some quite decent stuff in the middle. But after four minutes it's too long, and it's boring, they're making self indulgent music that could have been done by any number of untalented bands.

Guns 'n' Roses: Sweet Child o' Mine

As mentioned above, I'm just playing every single song in my playlist. This happened to be playing now. Evidently, it's one of the big hits back then. Although it's a rather short song, I like how Axl Rose sound in the song, as well as most of the guitar playing in this song.

I don't really care about the lyrics in particular, but I think this song is one worth recommending just for it's tune alone. There is a reason why it was a big hit back then, and now I see that reason.

The Gallows - In The Belly of a Shark

It's funny how something which sounds so awful can be so catchy. It's like the song is so terrible it's good. It is one of those songs that I can only listen to if I am in the mood for it. I really like the song but I couldn't possibly listen to it over and over.

Miley Cyrus- Party In The USA

The song is suprisingly awesome :awesome: It has a nice beat and her voice is great. It's easy to dance to ( I don't dance, but you understand :mokken: ) and I like it.

10/10

Exogenesis Part 3 (Redemption) - Muse
Probably my favourite of the three symphonies at the end of the album. I'm still unsure as to whether I like the album ending this way though, because it almost feels like extra content stuck on the end, rather than tracks meant to be released with it.

Abandoned Pools- "The Remedy"
The whole album (Humanistic) is awesome, but this is one of my favorite songs from it. It's got a great piano sample that just kind of trickles in at certain times and gives it a nice dark feel, kind of makes me think of a dark pond in the middle of a forest somewhere (Phantom Forest, maybe? :hmm:). Great to chill out to if you're in the right mood for it.

The Liberty Bell March - John Philip Sousa

Better known as the opening theme for Monty Python's Flying Circus. I absolutely adore that show, and I've been looking for ringtones for my new phone for the last few days. What better piece than this? Ehehehe...

Little Boots - Earthquake

This is one of the songs I've really gotten into lately. Her vocals are really soft and effective, plus I love the genre of electropop. It's really got me into listening to other artists who do the same kind of music. The lyrics are quite meaningful as well.

10/10

Jay Sean ft. Sean Paul and Lil Jon- Do You Remember

I've really started to recognise Jay Sean now and his talents. This song reminds me a bit of Chris Brown's Forever for some reason. Jay himself even sounds like Chris Brown, which is something I quite like because I love both their voices. Sean Paul adds in an interesting section to the song himself. It's not a vast departure from Down, which is nothing bad.

10/10

Linkin Park - Numb

I think this was one of the first metal songs I ever liked. There was just something about the lyrics that sorta related to my life at the time of first hearing it. I'm amazed how the lead vocalist can sing like that, wish I know he'd be able to scream so effectively. Love everything about this song, it still sounds brand new to me.

Here We Go Again, by Paramore. (Talk about obsession) :ryan:

Been listening to these guys non-stop lately. Their music is so lifting and great. Always puts me in a good mood. They are definitely a great band with lots of potential.

This is a bit of an older song. But definitely a great one. :D The tune is really catchy, and Hayley's voice is out there. This whole band unreal with their lyrics. I love them. :ryan:

10/10.

"The Queens" by Jeremy Soule.

A great instrumental track--it's actually from the Secret of Evermore soundtrack, and it plays during one of the more interesting areas of the game, where a queen and her impostor are vying for the same throne. It's got an incredible bassline and a sort of quiet elegance to it. The whole game has a beautiful score, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be for sale anywhere anymore, and it doesn't contain all the original tracks anyway. I've had to listen to it on Youtube or just when I'm playing the actual game.

The Way of Your World ~ Destrophy

I heard this song on Octane XM Radio, on my TV (Dish Network). I've only heard one other song by Destrophy, and it was pretty good as well. The lyrics to Way of Your World are just awesome.

"Take what you want, then you throw it away! This is the way of their world.
Don't know what you've got till it's taken away! This is the way or your world."

High School Never Ends-Bowling For Soup
Great band, great song. It's about how back in highschool it's all about being cool and whatnot but even after you leave highschool its still a buncha nonesense lol.
You'll haveta listen to it I think for the most part, its true.

Sunset Strippers - Falling Stars

There are 3 versions of this The other 2 are Boy Meets Girl Waiting for a Star to Fall and mot recently cabin crew covered it, IMO sunset strippers version is the best out of the 3 although i do love the original as well

Don't Stop Movin' - S Club 7. 10/10

I forgot how much I LOVE this song. I was thinking about pop groups I loved when I was younger and then S Club 7 came to mind, so I went and found this song, as it was my favorite when I was younger. It might sound a bit... disco-ish, but its a great song. I remember sitting in my room at night listening to this song when I was like 10, with like one of those rotating light globes and just dancing about to it. I am really glad I rediscovered it.
