Alesha Dixon - To Love Again

I didn't think much of her as an artist before this, but the song has me captivated. She's amazing singing it and the lyrics are supposed to reflect her wanting to love again after being let down in the past. It's also penned by Gary Barlow, so that's more marks for the song. It's very emotional and beautiful.

Timbaland ft. Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again

I don't know what to make of the song :hmmm: It has a brilliant rhythm which is quite typical of Timbaland and he does a very good job with his part but Katy Perry seems quite overpowered by something which is unusual. Her solo parts are fantastic as expected with someone with her quality but when she's singing alongside Timbaland I wouldn't even know it was her >.>

Marina And The Diamonds- Hollywood

Firstly, I have to say that Marina's voice does irritate me to some extent in the first chorus, but eventually it does grow on me enough that I can tolerate it. The song itself is alright- there isn't really anything I really love about it, it's a pop song with a serious underlying message in that so many people are obsessed in stardom in Hollywood which in itself is a bad thing. I can't help but love this song because of some lyrics:

♫ A fat security making plays for me
As soon as I touch down in, oh, and then he said…

Oh my god, you look just like Shakira
No no, you’re Catherine Zeta
Actually, my name’s Marina ♫

Justin Beiber- One Less Lonely Girl

For some reason, I love this song. It sounds so good and neat. It flows nicely and has a nice beat. I don't like the artist, however. He is to big for his britches -_-

Careful - Paramore

Probably my favorite song off of Brand New Eyes. I like the lyrics, the music, everything. Just copy everything that Colours has said in previous posts about Paramore, and insert it here. :wacky:

You'd make your way in
I'd resist you, just like this
You can't tell me to feel
The truth never set me free
So I did it myself

You can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
Won't come any closer
You've got to reach a little more

Shaggy ft. RikRok- It Wasn't Me

This has to be one of my biggest favourites of the early Noughties. I love everything about it from the tune, to the music video, the vocals and the lyrics. I love the theme of denial being focused whenever you're caught cheating on a girlfriend. I would go into greater detail, but I remembered that I'm not quite a musical genius. :8F:

The Bird And The Worm - The Used

I can't say I'm overly keen on The Used overall (as in, there are more bad songs than good as far as I am concerned), but I absolutely LOVE this song. Its just...catchy. The lyrics are appealing - for some strange reason, they just bring a smile to my face - and the vocals aren't too bad either.

Do You Remember- Jay Sean lil Jon& Sean Paul

OMG :gasp: Jay Sean for one is smoking hawt :gonk: I love this song it flows nicely and fits well together. Jay Sean is very talented and has a great bod, voice and accent. ahh, he's so dreamy! =)

There's nothing left to say
Don't waste another day
Just you and me tonight
Everything will be okay
If it's alright with you then it's alright with me
Baby let's take this time let's make new memories

Neve- "Drift"

Not sure if anyone remembers this band or not--they had a song called "It's Over Now" featured in the end scene of the movie "The Faculty"--but they were really great. Most of their songs are fun and uppity, but this particular song is really deep and beautiful. John Stephens, the vocalist, has a beautiful voice that's really suited for the low range in this song, and the lyrics are full of nice astronomical imagery, which makes what could have been an ordinary love song into something really fantastic and romantic. :inlove:

Favorite verse:

So take my hand, and drift away
This atmosphere's not perfect, but it is what we create
An endless dance of stars so bright,
A supernova, radioactive liquid light
And as we float through space, not knowing what's ahead,
Or what will fall into place,
I dream of the black hole that pulls us in,
The argument of life that I can't win...

He Said She Said- Ashley Tisdale

I generally dun listen to tacky pop things like Ashley Tisdale because she's not that great of a singer IMO. I happen to like this song though. Got nice rhythm and the lyrics flow nicely together. I like the beginning of it better just got my attention. After a while though, I had to stop listening.

Special K, by Placebo.

Love this song. Such a great band. :ryan: Rather with disappointed with their new album though. :ness:

I love their older stuff.

I want you - Elvis Costello
Personally I think this song is fantastic, there's a whole range of emotions in it. It's a break up song, like Blood on the Tracks and Grace and Danger, even if they are both albums.
It's a mixture of love and bitterness and jealousy and obsession. His voice makes it clear how bitter and in pain he is, but the lyrics show love and obsession. I think they go together really well.

Skillet - The Last Night

This song somehow reminds me of Bring Me To Life by Evanescence, probably because there's both a male and female vocalist singing to each other. Regardless of that, I'm in absolute awe of it. My friend recommended hearing their stuff and this was the first one I stumbled across. I've got to hear more of their songs soon if this song is anything to go by.

Johann Sebastian Bach - Orchestral Suite No.1 BWV 1066 - V Menuet I & II

I was in the mood for something different, so I put on a random CD from my Bach collection. This particular cd has some orchestra works, which are quite good. There is definitely some dandy Versailles-vibe going on :p

Glee Cast - Don't Stop Believin'

I absolutely love this song since the show started airing over here. I still like the original version, but this has a more light-hearted tone to it. The video to is very inspirational and the cast are fantastic together when they're on the ball. I think it's at its peak when they sing the main chorus and becomes incredible. Fantastic cover!

Short Skirts (Tifa's Theme) from the wonderful OCRemix album Voices of the Lifestream.

Mod's Edit: Could you please elaborate on your post? Say why you liked the song? One liners can be classified as spam in a post count section and may be deleted next time.

Taio Cruz - No Other One

It's a decent song, but not quite up there with Break Your Heart. I might just need to give it a few more listens to get into it. There's no denying Taio knows how to make good music and give them good lyrics. I just think he needs to improve from this song. Regardless of anything, it's an average song at best.

Jay Sean ft. Sean Paul & Lil Jon- Do You Remember

Oh wow- this is the umpteenth time I've been listening to this song and I still absolutely love it to death! I've been listening to Jay Sean's work recently, and I have not been disappointed at all. I don't think I'm the only one here falling for Jay Sean. I think his talents haven't really been truly discovered until now. Sean Paul's rap in the song is also a big plus for me. His rapping actually sounds great and it doesn't disturb the song at all.

Paramore - Brick By Boring Brick

It's a more upbeat song than Ignorance, not that I hated that song whatsoever. There's something about it that makes me go in awe of it. Love the bit at the end where they're doing that chant.

There's A Riot Goin' On - Sly and the Family Stone

One of my favourite albums from the 70s, it's a masterpiece of funk. Dark and sinister in tone, and it's totally captivating. Sometimes chaos in a band's existence can lead to them making some great music.
