Your time in the Fire Cavern

I was wondering myself why did you get to choose time. Hrmm...? Oh well, I remember choosing about 20 or 30. I had to make sure I had to draw, battle, and level up. =). I should've leveled up outside, oh well.

First time ever played. I think I chose like 20 or 30 minutes and had like 15 or something like that to spare. Second time I chose 10 and died cause I didn't time attacks right. Then once I got back in he was dead with like 2-3 minutes left. After all those time I always chose 10 and have like 3-4 seconds left on the clock. Just gotta love that beach, get boost first maybe sum mag damage 10 or 20%, then go kill Ifrit. Done deal just worship the beach, cause it's the easiet place to lvl up, and when in need of hp just go into the planes for fights with bitebugs to get cure magic, its that simple.

My first few times thru I chose 20 mins but now I always chose 10, I just make sure I have boost for Shiva and it's pretty easy, I also faff about drawing magic aswel before I go in but I have only ever bothered raising my levels by 1 or 2 tho and that leaves me with about 2-3 mins spare, but apparently you get more points if you finish with seconds to spare because it proves you have judged choosing your time well not that you can choose lower than 10 but, oh well lol

It's really easy once you get boost for Shiva regardless of your level really, just dont get distracted to much by the battles beforehand (it helps to draw blizzards from the fasticalons at the beach aswel)

I used to choose the 30 -40 minute time limit, but i recently gt the game guide and found out that if you choose 10 minutes and and are down to 20 seconds or less when beating Ifrit you get a higher score on your SeeD exam. ^_^

First time I ever did it, I chose 40 minutes, but had finished in like 10, so I do it with 20 minutes as i never seem to get many of the random battles or just can't be bothered.

Never run out of time though, so I wouldn't know what happens after that =]

i tried to run it in 10 mins but its not possible unless u are like lvl 100 b4 u go there because it takes at least 30 secs to 1 -2 mins for a fight at basic lvl.
i allways do it with a realistic time like 30 or 40 more likely 40 it give you chance to explore a little and get ready with magic;)

I beg to differ. It is quite possible and quite easy to do it in 10 minutes. The two times I played the game, I completed the fire cavern with the 10 minute time limit and still had time left over.

You do realize that no matter what level you are enemies are going to be the same level as you. It doesn't matter if your level 7 or 100. Being level 100 is not going to make the Fire Cavern any easier.

We;; y time was 9:55, and my second try was 9:30/35. First tiem I went through however I set the timer at 20 mins as I wasn't sure how long it would take.

So Ifrit came as a GF, it mostly came down to using my won GF's for attacking to get it under 10 minutes.

Depends on my mood. If I'm in a hurry or want to play the game really well, I'll choose 10 or 20. However, if I'm feeling lazy, I'll pick 30. I never pick 40.

Actually I've just tested this, and the Fire Cavern is more like a tutorial zone in the game, so the enemies levels do not follow your team in this area.

So it's one easy place to get Cards, Items and to use Devour later in the game.

I always choose 20 mins since 10 mins wasn't enough time for to go through the cavern and beat Ifrit.

The Fire cavern is easy. You can do it well within 10 Mins, with no need for levelling and without running from the set battles that lead up to Ifrit.

If you manage to beat him with less than 7 seconds to go then you get Max SeeD points for it. Best bet is to scan him for this, keep an eye on his HP, and attack him with 10secs to go. Make sure your Battle and Speech speed is at fastest though, as he speaks a little after you finish him, and that counts towards the time.
