The Best Final Fantasy Game?

I've been real cliché and voted for FFVII. I still think it's the best FF game by far! With Advent Children and Crisis Core it truly is epic! It's amazing to go on a journey through time and discover all that's happened.

But alone, FF7 is still truly wonderful! The storyline is so orginal with ShinRa's plot of world domination; the whole Jenova, Hojo, Sephiroth story and the many sub-plots you gain for all the characters (mostly playable ones). I find Cloud's story particulary interesting. Vincent's story too is very tragic, yet beautiful.

Also, I totally fell in love with so many of the characters in FF7 - Cloud, Vincent, Aeris and even swearing Cid has a place in my heart.:inlove: Oooh and Reno is HAWT *cough* ^_^ Plus Sephiroth is the most evil villian in any game I've ever played. He truly freaked me out the first time I played FF7!

Oh by the way ,first post! :hiya:

It has to be X for me. I've played a few other FF games, but I always go back to ten. To make it harder, I send the party around different areas of the Sphere Grid, eg, make Yuna a warrior or Auron a white mage. It takes the characters longer to develop this way as their stats at the start are already set for where they are supposed to go on the grid, so Yuna would start of with a higher magic and lower attack compared to Auron!

My top 3 are FFVII > FFX > FFVIII

I think I am biased towards VII, because it was the first one I played, but even so, I think it would still be my favourite. The music is massively memorable, the story is fascinating, and deep. I love pretty much all the characters.

I like how the magic system (ie Materia, Junction etc) for FFVII links in with the story. The is a lot more explaination to it than there is in other games. Like in the Kalm flashback where Sephiroth explains to Cloud how materia orbs actually form.

To me, it is just the most complete game.

Final Fantasy VII set the standard for me. Like it was for a lot of people, it was my first FF and my first RPG. The story, though it left questions here and there, was so deep and engrossing. I got attached to all of the characters immediately. Honestly, there wasn't one character on my team that annoyed me. The gameplay was great (I still miss the Materia system). It was complete.

I think the only RPGs that can really stand up with FF7 are FF6, FF10 and Suikoden III.

Final Fantasy VII
I don't care if anyone says the characters look like lego people!
The story plot was the best out of all Final Fantasies there are.
Sephiroth is the greatest villain there is.
And the materia system? It was just plain awsome!
And if any of you think it sucks. You should go and *beep* yourself...
That was a bit harsh...NO OFFENSE INTENDED! XD

Mine would be Final Fantasy 12. Everything from the battle system to the storyline i found great about it. Final Fantasy VII was awesome as well.

I chose final fantasy X, since that was the first final fantasy I got into because was old enough to understand it, and it stuck. I guess... That was the only reason.

Final Fantasy X: Characters were great, they all had personality to follow that were realistic which also developed throughout the game. The music wasn't bad, there were here and there; especially the ff x theme song. The gameplay was not too bad: it was original nonetheless. The graphics... Perfect to ogle at.

The rest are just as good as now that I have replayed it. All have their strengths and weaknesses. I tend to like one of the ff, then I change again after having played another recently.

I have no opinion for earlier ff because I haven't had the chance to play them yet...

FF7 all the way, it has the by far the best storyline, like when sephiroth kills aries it makes me mad and makes me want to get revenge, almost seems like im actualy cloud when playing the game. Also the music is the best out of all of them.
But.... I find FF12 very addictive when training up, so I like that as well! :D

seven seven seven seven because of Aerith cloud vincent and cait sith

Sephiroth i hate you i hate your family but the names i want to call you may be a bit inappropiate so if you touch a hair on cait sith i will .... kill you my self

^ Lols.
Anyway, i chose Final Fantasy X, well the storyline's one thing, but what i liked was the graphics and especially so, the music.
The battle theme for this series is kinda nice too..

By far my favorite is VIII. Seems to be the one FF game that you either love it or hate it, no real in between. It had some of my favorite characters, not Squall, but Laguna Loire. Of all FF characters, I found him to be the best to relate to and is one of the main reasons for voting this game as top notch.

FF12 because it has many puzzles, nice battle system, tough bosses. Basically it has all I want in a game :monster:

final fantasy IX for me lol i like using 4 characters lol bad reason i have more reasons but cant be bothered to type them!!! lol message me if u wanna know!

Soundtrack, graphics and gameplay wise FFXII is the most epic of all. However it isn't my favorite game of the series due to it's obscene lack of character development and decent boobage.

This was a very hard poll question to answer for me. And basically it boiled down to 3 of them. Being FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX. And I'm going to tell you why.

Onto why I feel this game was a strong 1st place for me as being not only the best, but also being my favorite. FFVII was a masterpiece IMHO. And I loved the characters in this game. My favorites being Cid and although a short role was Zack. Now Zack I fell in love with his character in this game, as I played the preequal FFCC. He was a loving and caring person. And he put the needs of others ahead of what he needed. He cared about the safety of Cloud by hiding him and fighting the Shinra Soldiers to help him and Cloud both get back into Midgar. He was IMO the best character that I have ever played as for being the main person the story is based around. You get instantly curious about him as soon as you start FFCC. And he's a confident fighter, strongwilled, and very laid back. He's excellent in combat and he never backs down from anything. Although I knew the ending of FFCC before hand, as I played and beat FFVII it absolutly tore me up at the end of the game. I only wish you couldve had both Zack and Cloud in FFVII as that wouldve been great. Sephiroth also pulled me into this game. I loved his role as a villain, and once I looked at him you could tell that he was going to be a beast. I mean he has the long Masamune sword, long silver hair, his uniform, fighting style. Whats not to love about him? The music in this game was amazing as well. One Winged Angel(the theme song for Safer Sephiroth), and the City of the Ancients theme song were my favorites of all the songs. You could do a ton of extra side stuff to. Such as get chocobos and breed them to make a Gold Chocobo which could go in any type of water, climb any mountain. Although very time consuming this is, it definetly pays off and you will reap the benefits. Another cool thing is racing chocobos at Gold Saucer and winning various prizes, moving up in classes with your chocobo. You can fight extra side bosses such as Ultimate Weapon, Ruby Weapon, and Emerald Weapon. Now although these weapons are tough you will definetly be rewarded for your efforts in defeating each of these 3 bosses. The length of the game was good as well. I mean I dont know about you, but I hate spending money on games that last 2-3 hours and you beat it. Shoot in 2-3 hours of this game you will maybe be at Kalm Town or a little passed that. Not even close to the end of the game, let alone disk 1.

Now onto FFVIII as being a strong 2nd place for me. This game didn't disappoint IMO as being 1 of the best FF games of the series. I loved the role of Seifer and Rinoa in this game. To me, I only wished that Seifer couldve been a SeeD with Squall and Co and helped them fight the sorceress. Rinoa I loved her char. She was the balance to Squall, as there was romance experienced by almost every1 atleast once throughout this game. The card game was sweet in this game, and very addicting as well. I mean sure it took some time for me to learn how to play. But once I learned how to play, I always did and loved playing from then on. The GF's were another thing that I found to be amazing in this game as well. They definetly help your characters get stronger and much more tougher in battle. The music in this game was also a thing that I loved about this game. My 2 favorite songs were the Balamb Garden song, and the song for Balamb itself. The video showed before the mission in Dollet was my favorite short video of the whole game, it looked very real and was well done. The look of the Balamb Garden and other various locations were another huge deal for me. I feel the graphics in this game took a huge step up from FFVII to FFVIII, and they didn't disappoint me there.

Lastly onto FFIX and why it finishes at a strong 3rd for me. This game was IMO the last of the greats for the FF series. This game took a huge huge step up as far as graphics are concerned. I mean you look at VII and you see characters that are blocky looking, and you look at this and they look more real than they did. It showed how much more advanced technology had gotten up to that point. I loved the role of Zidane as far as main character is concerned. He is a thief in a gang called Tantalus from Lindblum and they steal the Princess Garnet from Alexandria during a play called "I want to be your Canary". And on their way from leaving the city of Alexandria they crash in a forest and the Princess is lost. He throws away his status in the gang, and puts himself in danger to rescue her. That is pretty heroic and speaks for itself. I mean a thief putting himself in danger to save something he stole. Normally people wouldnt do that and danger themselves and just let the person die. But not him, he chooses to go out and get her. ViVi was my favorite character in this game. He's a spell casting mage, and not only that but he makes Steiner stronger as he can use his elemental attacks and allow Steiner to use them with his sword. General Beatrix was also a big reason that I loved this game. She goes from basically wanting to kill Zidane and Co, to wanting to help you get Garnet safe after learning the truth about Queen Brahne and her madness. Although her time is short with you, I loved when you could have Steiner and Beatrix fighting side by side. The video of Bahamut vs Alexander was possibly the best short clip I have ever seen from a FF game. I also loved being able to go to auctions and outbid the nobles. It may sound dumb, but I just got a kick out of outbidding them for items and splurging on items that arent even worth the amount that I am willing to pay just to win. The Stellazzio quest was fun as well. I loved going to various locations and looking for coins, then going back and getting a reward for finding them. The music in this game was amazing as well. Thats one of the main things that catch my attention in games is the music, and I feel that FFIX proved that it didn't disappoint for me as being 1 of the best FF games of the series.

So again my vote went for FFVII as being the best, with VIII and IX coming respectively in 2nd and 3rd for me.

Whew I'm done now.

In my opinion I would choose either 7 or 12 just because 7 is the classic final fantasy and its preferably the most entertaining and as for 12 i just loved that game all over :)
