Amane Kutisaka
Moving Along
Moving Along
"No offense taken!" Amane said cheerily as she followed behind Athena, a little spring in her step.
She listened as the other girl spoke, took in all the points she made and pondered them in her head. Dragons. Amane had only ever seen one in her lifetime. It used to nest upon a crag close to where she lived, feeding off the grazing wild cattle nearby. They were magnificant creatures, dragons. Strong and agile... Amane smiled to herself.
Halting to Athena's immediate left, Amane allowed her eyes to follow the taller female's. So this was their destination...
Prepare for battle...
Those words sang like a bell toll deep inside Amane, her eyes glazing over to a pearly white, irises fixated upon the entrance that lay ahead. White light began to pulse in her palms as she weaved her fingers in front of her. The light coiled around her fingers, tracing the lines she etched in the air, criss-crossing over each other as she continued to form the rune. Once completed, she pressed her tiny hand to the center of it and sighed as the rune pulsed outwards to cloak both her allies as well as herself.
"Ready when you are," she said softly.
((That spell is basically shell. Reduces the damage taken from elements.))
Veerle Shinja
Into the Forest
Into the Forest
I should be safe...... NO! I WILL be safe. Yes.... Lets go...
Veerle allowed the light smirk to lift the very corners of her mouth as she strode ahead of the smaller girl. Slackening the grip on her weapon slightly, Veerle tuned her ears into the sounds of their environment. On paper, this looked to be the most simple of tasks. Find the children and bring them out of the forest.
But Veerle was a warrior. She knew wherever there was cover, enemies were likely to be lurking. The rustle of leaves high above seemed to be multiplied ten-fold to the attuned warrior's hearing as she pressed on slowly, halberd loose her in hand to her right side.
There was a snap of twigs and a growl to her right. Veerle kept her eyes forward, thrust her halberd into the ground blade first and waited for the attack.
It came in a fluffy of dark grey, matted fur and snapping teeth. Catching the rabid beast mid-pounce, Veerle stared into it's dark brown eyes with an almost piteous expression on her face. Releasing her grip to one hand, she brought her now free hand down hard upon the pressure point just behind it's skull, near the neck. The contact caused the wolf's eyes to darkened as it fell unconscious, dangerously sharp teeth hovering barely an inch away from Veerle's throat.
Dropping the wolf to the floor, Veerle turned to her ally.
"He may seem scary... but he's just hungry," she said by way of explanation. "He'll wake up in a few hours. No doubt he'll have a bit of a headache, mind."

ATTENTION ALL DISCOM MEMBERS/INSTRUCTORS. A MEETING IN THE STUDENT COUCIL DORMS HAS BEEN ISSUED IMMEDIATELY. CLASSES SHALL BE CANCELED UNTIL LUNCH.
Leaning back against the wall, half-asleep, was young Cathal Shinja. However, this blaring announcement caused him to jolt with such a start, that the back of his head cracked against the wall. Pain lanced through his head as he stood upright, pressed a hand to it and cursed under his breath.
... Discom members. That was him!
"Shit!"
Allowing his large wings to burst forth, Cathal flew as fast as he could towards the Council rooms.
Either his time keeping was completely out of whack, however, or his flying was a hell of a lot slower than walking these days. Either way... he was late.
Coming into the room at the tail end of his leader's speech. Or so he assumed, at least.
“The power supply is vast, and it won't run out... Unless I die. You guys can go on and make your plans. In fact, you'll have the full power of the DisCom at your side. However, I'm 100% sure my plan will work. It's more than okay to be skeptical, but trust me when I say there is no need. I will not fail.”
"Don't worry, he ain't dying any time soon. Hate to interrupt... and I'm not going to be rude enough to ask you all to repeat what I've missed... oh and I'm sorry for being late."
Cathal tapped a finger to his chin. "Do I smell planning?"
