Final Fantasy VII Remake

I don't know if it was mentioned but because Vincent and Yuffie are hidden characters, they didn't have that much involvement in the main plot. I would like either make them compulsory (I would probably prefer that since I'm not really a fan of hidden characters) or give them more involvement in the main plot and have additional scenes if you get either of them. They were cut out from cutscenes, including the end scene.

If there is going to be a remake, I hope it is for anything other than the PS3. I'm not going to buy a $600 console for just one game. Maybe have it on PS3 and some other consoles too? That will be more money for them.

I say yes to a remake because I think it was the best game in the franchise. Best storyline, characters, etc. it just lacks the modern graphics. If they combine the nowaday graphics with everything else in VII, it will be the ultimate Final Fantasy.

By the time it would come out, the PS3 prices would be lowered. In the UK you could probably get one for about £200 off Ebay already.

Yuffie is pointless, but Vincent was once a Turk though. that's why maybe Vincent should have been one of the main characters like Barret, Cid and the rest in a possible remake if ever

Totally agree. I'd love to see Vincent get more involved if there was to be a re-make

I want them to make it but I know that its going to need more than just a graphic overhaul to make it worth while. Going into ever scene knowing exactly whats going to happen could make the longevity of the game suffer. It also stands to reason that they could port it to the PSP.

Not for me. I wouldn't play FFVII like 20 times if knowing what the next scene would bore me or whatever.

Now that I think about it, I've changed my views on the whole graphics thing.
Why would I play a graphically superior game with basically the same story....maybe some minor tweaks here and there, but not a big overhaul on the story, or else the whole game will suffer more.

Exactly Welbourne. People always hop at the idea of a pretty version of something they enjoy. Graphics are nice -- granted, just like good looks in a person, but like real people, looks (graphics) fade away over time (get pushed down by the current standard). Its almost more important for a game with such a fan base to have much bigger changes. They don't have to be an overhaul (like change Seph to a girl with pink hair) but scenes can be added, changed, and revamped. Systems can be altered, upgrade, and polished. Challenges can be offered, tweaked, and declared. I have faith that Square could offer the game in a new way and still keep the old charm.

i saw a demo of the ff7 remake on google. the graphics look amazing & i am so excited that they're remaking it!

Well as of yet there is no confirmation that they are remaking the game. It was only a technical demo to show what the PS3 is capable of which has obviously sparked rumours of a remake but Square Enix has denied that they are remaking the game.

I think they should remake FF7. The grafix on the origionl were good for their time but the new stories aren't quite as good as the old ones. I think they're kinda running out of good storylines! Square Enix will want more muney than they already have so will use evry oppertunity- Hey! They even made a movie (Which wasn't really very good (story wise)) I love this game and they should remake it! :P

It depends on what you like, as far as the "running out of good storylines" remark goes. I think the storylines for VIII-X were good. XII is allright, but not as good as them.

Well for my 2 cents, i could sit down and play through FF7 right now, in about a week. I cant because my games so old it doesnt play through the rocket explosion, it freezes but thats besides the point. The reason i bring this up is because of what someone said before, the game would need more than graphics to be worth while. Now, if they did put more in, it would be awsome, but the game and graphics alone is enough for me to buy a ps3 and that game.

Even though ive beaten the original many times.

I'll make my post, in the shortest way possible and straight to the point. Yes, I do think that there will be a remake, but it won't happen any time soon. Right now Square-Enix has their hands full with projects such as FFXIII, and the new Kingdom Hearts series. Not to mention the fact that they haven't decided wheter to sell KH2: FM+ in other countries besides Japan. I would give it at least 3 or 2 years for them to start making the remake, probably even longer.

I think they are telling us that they are not making it so that Square can jump up and surprise all of its fans with FFVII: The Remake.

It's their biggest selling game, why wouldn't they redo it with better graphics and such?
