Final Fantasy X HD Discussion

I would want to get X-2 in HD as we have said, it did have better visuals anyway didn't it? Maybe I have forgotten because I have refused to play it again all these years.

No way. X-2 looked horrible. I remember that part where you're going through Zanarkand right at the beginning and Rikku yells "Monkey!" and it zooms in on her... The look on her face creeped me out...

I would put a pic up, but it's near impossible to find a pic of that on the interweb

Personally I would love to purchase this for my PS3!!! I still have my PS2 hooked up just so I can play Final Fantasy X, so hearing this news is fantastic for me....

Improved / touched up graphics of course is a plus, but to be honest it's not a big deal for me. As long as they don't go making any major changes or anything I'll be very happy.

Don't mess with a recipe which is already a success...

HAHAHAHAHA MAN, YOU TOTALLY KNOW WHERE IT'S AT
every time I think back on X-2's shitty graphics, that monkey part is the first clip that pops into my head. Such a fucking joke, that entire game

I started it up on my HD TV a couple of weeks ago, and PS2 on HD looks terrible. so this is awesome news in my eyes. Looking forward to collecting trophies on it

@Catnip: Totally, it's as if all of X-2 was just someone trying to take the piss out of Final Fantasy. Looking back you gotta wonder if it actually was a joke :hmmm:

X-2 is still better than XIII ever was. At least it had a cast of characters, it let you play it, and a slight semblance of a storyline. Plus it was actually fun. XIII can't make any of those claims.

Honestly, all I want out of this is the Dark Aeons kept in it. If they get taken out, I will not be particularly pleased. If they're in there, and there are trophies for beating them, then they should be trophies for killing them without cheating by using Zanmato, as well. I've been putting off playing FFX again, because I put a ridiculous amount of hours and effort into my first file. I guarantee I'll never platinum this though, because it will likely require playing blitzball, and I doubt my hatred of it will have diminished in any way.

A remake is too much to hope for, and Square Enix don't need to remake it to sell it, so they won't. This will be a slightly enhanced port, although I imagine the media, Square Enix themselves, and a good percentage of fans will claim otherwise.

yh all ur really gonna see is the graphics being upscaled to HD.. That about it...

I wouldn't mind an option to use the Japanese voices in it.. I always preferred the Japanese voices for most of the characters

and no for an xbox port... it would ruin it.. sooo stick to ps3 and psvita

I might wait and get it on vita XD

I'll get it on PS3, unless the gap between the Vita release and PS3 release is small, in which case I'll probably base my decision on whether or not I have anything to play on either console at the time...or the price difference between the two, assuming there is one, and there had better be, unless the PS3 version is going to RRP at how much handheld games are supposed to, i.e. £30 at most. I'm not paying any more than that for an HD port. Considering the other HD ports on PS3 have gone for just under £30, I expect this to do the same.

Since I don't have a 360 anymore, I'm indifferent to whether they port it over or not, although I can't see them doing so.

I hope that they put the Dark Aeons into the American version of this. I can't understand why they left them out in the first place. In the UK, we got them, and although I've only ever beaten one of them, I think that it was unfair that you lot in America had to miss out on what's potentially a huge chunk of the game.

Remastering the game is probably quite a good idea, because as others have said, the graphics don't look all that good when you've got an HD telly, and as more and more of us go for the HD lot, it's going to make FFX, which was a great game, look kinda crappy :(
So yeah, I'm all for it, as long as you Americans get your Dark Aeons

I'll deffinatly buy it when it comes out, I had so much fun playing FFX all thoes years back that I'd love to do it again. It'll be nice to have some trophy support on it as well.

The only new feature I'd like to see them impliment would be a New Game + option, just to give it a bit more replay value.

A game like FFX doesn't really need a new game + feature :hmmm: I mean, since you can just free roam right at the end of the game before the final boss anyway. The 'point of no return' is right in front of the final boss.

But dude imagine fighting kimhari at the beginning with tidus' ultimate weapon

Okay everyone, I've already had to delete one post from this thread because it was considered spam and completely off topic. I do realize that you want to chat about the HD release, but can we try and stay on topic as this is a post count section please? Thank-you.

I disagree, what if I want to replay the story but don't want to have to find all my equipment and unlock each character's overdrive all over again?

The sphere grid will be reset when you start a new game (though it would be nice if it just kept abilities, Ultima at the start of the game haha) so it's not like it would be that unbalanced.

If they were going to implement New Game+ then having the Sphere Grid reset for it would be a terrible idea in my opinion. After spending hundreds of hours painstakingly maxxing out my character's stats - which takes far longer than anything else in the game - I'd want that data to be carried over; there isn't any point starting a NG+ if you're just going to be kicked right back down again.

All the same, I highly doubt they will. Square Enix don't like including NG+ in their RPGs. I can't see this being any more than a straight port with a slight graphics modification, they won't add in anything new...or if they do, I will be quite surprised.

What the hell kind of boring ass game would that make? One hit KO for absolutely everything. Did you think that one through lmao no you didn't

What I am saying is that I would be extremely annoyed to have all my hard work undone in a NG+ option. I'd rather blaze through the game with all my stats intact than have to suffer through it for a second time, re-doing everything I just did. The whole point of a NG+ feature is that you get to carry things over. You might as well just start a completely new file if you're not going to get to keep anything worthwhile from your previous file; the Sphere Grid being reset would make NG+ a completely pointless addition, unless it did something like making all the enemies twice as strong or something, and even then, it'd just make more sense to have adjustable difficulty levels.

Honestly, I doubt I'd play the game a second time anyway, even if everything was carried over. Once is usually enough for a few years.

and I'm saying that would be BORING ASS GAME

I'm actually starting to not like the idea of new game +. I don't want them to change anything at all except for the sexy appearance of everyone. I'm excited for this game, but I'm not too thrilled about the idea of having to spend money on it. maybe I'll get my shit mom to hand over some cash heheh

The last thing they should do to FFX is implement NG+.
Like catnip said, that would be one boring ass playthrough...
Unless, if you start an NG+ the enemies were way stronger :hmmm: maybe, but I don't like the idea...
