Escala - Escala

I really like the Escala girls, and I think their album was well worth the wait. Some pieces on the album sound amazing, like Palladio and Kashmir, and they're absolutely brilliant.

However, I'm furious with how they worked Requiem For A Tower. The original Lux Aeterna version is over 6 minutes long, and they've compressed it into just under two minutes. Blah. Compared to the proper version it sounds very hollow, and not as epic as it should have done. I was excited when I heard it was going to be on the album, but the final product is one huge letdown. =/

And, I think Escala lose a certain something without the visual appeal of seeing them perform too. :wacky:

last album bought

kings of leon only by the night i think i bought last i think thats been the most amazing album by kings of leon so far i didnt like there earlier album (because of the times) yeah i had that album but i sold it because it was like the one album that was standing out in my collection so i sold it and also i did'nt like the singer (forgot his name) until i heard his voice in only by the night and i think since there last album there voices have all change(in a good way)

Michael Jackson - BAD

I have long dreamed to get that album and although I already downloaded more than half of the album's tracks it still has a few things I could not aquire. Such as Quicy Jones interviews, the Spanish version of "I Just Can't Stop Lovin' You" and some bonus tracks. I really love the song Streetwalker, too bad it wasn't released before. Anyway, I like the booklet as well, mostly of the pictures and the fact that there are song lyrics in it. Great album :)

The Sounds of the Smiths - The Smiths
I'm not normally a fan of best of albums. But this has 30+ songs, quite a few of them live. It ranges from their depressing best, Asleep and How soon is now, to their quirky camp pop songs This Charming man, Hand in Glove etc.
It's great because there are so many great songs, some really good live ones, Meat is Murder live at the Oxford Apollo springs to mind.

Like You Do... The Very Best of The Lightning Seeds
I'd forgotten how many good songs they had until I randomly spotted this in HMV. They're like the cousins of Oasis, they're just that good.

That new Killers one, well, new ish, forgot what it's called 8/10

It's decent, not really listened to it much, but there's afew catchy tunes on there, I only wanted it for Human really, love that song :wacky:

Best of Deacon Blue 10/10

Some classic tracks on this album, stuff to turn the volume up to and sing really badly and really loud, I Had an album ages ago, but I left it at a friends like, yeeears ago, it's ju st really upbeat, and it gets me in the Summery mood :gasp:

The last album i downloaded ¬_¬ was clarity by Jimmy Eat world

Ive pretty much got all their albums now. Id already heard a few songs from this one so i was eager to get it. Also its a jim adkins album which is +100000 points. Havent gave it a proper listen yet though, once i put it on my fone il get listening properly. Its bound to be good though. J.E.W are one of those bands who dont release bad songs.

Last album I downloaded was the Full powers EP by Cruelblackdove

Im checking some of their other stuff right now

The last one I bought was In Rainbows by Radiohead, it was too sweet a deal to pass up on. Plus, the album is incredible.

The Veronicas - Hook Me Up

It's quite an epic CD, it has Untouched on it which automatically epic and take me on the floor is a really good song as well, I love their electro-rock style, it's different. I think their talent comes in the slower more heartfelt songs though, they seem to really nail those.

I guess it would have been the soundtrack to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End by Hans Zimmer. I thought it was great. Themes from the first two movies are supplemented nicely with a couple of new ones. Definitely a great buy.

RIOT! by Paramore.

I'm not much into music or downloading it, I bought RIOT! about two months ago :ryan: Since I have a shit download limit I usually open a yt vid and keep it open for a while :gonk:

Battle for the Sun - Placebo
It sounds a lot more like Black Market Music than Meds, but it has a more mainstream sound that BMM. It's heavier than any of the other albums, probably because of the new drummer. I like it, but I don't like it as much as I thought I would have. There's no one song that really stands out to me.

I just bought Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown.
I like it a lot. Not as much as their American Idiot album though.
I thought that one was perfect.
I give this one 8/10 though.
(I just started every sentence with "I" lol)

One Day As A Lion (self-titled EP)

This has it's ups and downs. There are only 5 tracks, three of them really stand out to me; Wild International, If You Fear Dying and One Day As A Lion are three tracks which I can listen to over and over again.

I'm not too big a fan of the other two tracks; Ocean View and Last Letter. They are not terrible, just not as great as the other three tracks.

I just bought SMiLE from Brian Wilson.
Because I wanted to explore new musicality in my music style
I give 8.3/10

Fleetwood Mac - Say You Will

Despite the fact that Christine McVie isn't on the album at all, it's still pretty fantastic. Although sometimes it does sound like a Stevie Nicks solo album and a Lindsey Buckingham solo album merged together, the majority of it sounds like classic Mac, despite the absence of Christine.

Lindsey and Stevie sing together a lot during this album, moreso than any Fleetwood Mac album since their debut album with the group in 1975, and it's really great. The better tracks on the album is when they collaborate, rather than share space.

Miranda, Say You Will, Everyone Finds Out and Running Through The Garden have to be my favourites, they really are the standout tracks, and they're positioned to play just as the album becomes tiring, as it's their longest album since Tusk, ending up with 18 tracks. It's a tad long, and it suffers from the absence of Christine McVie, but otherwise, it's a very solid album, and Stevie and Lindsey sound fantastic.

Different Class - Pulp
Continuing my fixation with 90s music like this. I've really been into bands like Pulp, Blur, Oasis and The Verve recently. I'd never heard that much by Pulp before and just bought it because it had Common People and Disco 2000 really. >> But it's a very good album mostly, I really like F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E and Underwear.

The Clan Destined - In the Big Ending EP
The first and last offering by a band known as The Clan Destined, featuring former Sabbat and Skyclad vocalist Martin Walkyier. Been listening to these tracks for a while now and I must say its certainly worth a listen if your a fan of the above names. It's Heavy Metal with some experimentation mix in, lyrical themes of politics, war and famous writers but the 'folky' influence from Skyclad is very subtle. As expected the strongest aspect of the songs are Walkyiers intelligent thought-provoking lyrics along with the catchy rythems. It's a shame he couldn't keep the band together for a full length.

Highlight tracks are definitly 'A Beautiful Start to the End of the World' and 'T.C. Lethbridge'.

Everlast , I bought his entire discography last Feb. I miss the old man, nothing like a little House of Pain or his newer stuff.

Dude has a killer bass voice.

Up the Downstair - Porcupine Tree
Another album of theirs with a very different sound. This is a very psychedelic album that's a little more difficult to listen to than their more recent releases, but one of their better ones when you get through it. I was a little disappointed at how short some of the tracks were, though.
