Most famous FF character?

Sephiroth, i guess. Just the killing Aerith made him big in FFVII
 
I think Cloud is the most famous

Even though I haven't played all the games, I'll still make a list based on the names that pop up most often...

1. Sephiroth- Possibly one of the most famous villians of all time. He has an army of fanboys, a religion circled around him, a giant katana, a lot of people who cosplay as him, and killed Aerith. Need I say more?

2. Cloud- Classic hero. Also has army of fanboys and a big sword. I still think he may not have as many fangirls in love with him if it wasn't for Advent Children.

3. Vivi- Yeah, that's right, I put Vivi as number three. Why? Because his name keeps popping up on gaming forums, plus a bunch of little girls think he's cute. Tons of cosplayers as well.

4. Kefka- Probably because he was so insane and looked like a clown. Next Sephiroth, I'd say he was the second most popular villain. Once again, tons of cosplayers.

5. Kuja- Probably because everybody is all like, "lolz Kuja is teh gays becuz he wearz a thong!!!11one!" I don't think so, but way too many people say this. I'd say he's also popular because many girls like him. And you guessed it, lots of people cosplay him as well, although most are horrible at it. >_<

6. Tifa- All over forums, lots of guys defend her because, "she has teh booborz!!!11!!". Guess what? Lots of people cosplay Tifa, too! :O

7. Rikku- She's extremely hyper, has an army of fanboys/fangirls, has a bunch of people cosplaying her, and is Yuna's cousin. She was actually the first FF character I ever hear of, but that doesn't make her number one.

8. Squall- I honestly have no idea why so many people like him. Everyone always says that they like him, but as I already stated, I have no clue why.

9. Aerith- She got killed by Sephiroth and was Cloud's girlfriend. Tifa is still more popular, but Aerith is still up here.

10. Auron- A lot of people like how he's tough and whatnot, I guess. He got sent, and kept talking about Tidus's "story". I don't know a lot about him, I just keep seeing people mention him nonstop.

Some runners up were Yuna, Seymour, Rinoa, and Ultros.

Weird list, I know. I just put down the names I keep hearing, although I know nothing about some of them. :confused:

and to be honest, i dont really care who's the most famous. i just enjoy the games :gasp:
 
Well, she was sort of his girlfriend for a little while, she was with Zack longer, though. (but he died as well)

I don't really care who is the most famous, either. I just wanted to put down who I thought people talked about the most. :wacky: I'm strange, I know.

2.Cloud:He's the hero after all.
3.Aerith:Her tragic death made her more famous and more loved.
4.Vincent:He's quite famous.If he wasn't then he wouldn't star in his own game.
5.Tifa:Big boobs that's what attracts more fanboys but the fact that she kicks ass is what made her female fans like her.
6.Squall:He was the hero of the next FF after FFVII.
7.Yuna:People seem to love her very much.
8.Rikku:Her FFX-2 costume cought the attention of many.
9.Rinoa:She's one of the main characters of FFVIII and the one who cheers up Squall.
10.Reno:Even if he's not a main character he's quite famous between the FF fangirls.

These are in my opinion the most famous FF characters and people who don't like my list just ignore it.
 
Lets see...who do i think is the most famous of the characters in the Final Fantasy world. Well i think that would have to be a tough one since the FF world is full of so many interesting characters and stories. No I have not played every single game but from the few that I played I can make a guess on why some of them are Popular.

Cloud- A big sword and well being the main hero of FF7. Hes the blonde haired big sword carrying hero of FF7. He may of started out as a mere mp in the ranks of the Shinra army but soon found his way to being the hero that saved the world from Sephiroth. Though he probably would not of been such a great hero if not from the help of his friends along the way, especially Tifa who really helped him out when he was confused about who he really was because of what the experiments did to his mind.

Zack- Until the anime, and of course his own game, not much was known about this man except that was where Cloud got his famous sword from. Though in FF7 it was known that Zack was Aerith's bf before the start of the game and before he died of course. Once CC came out it showed how much of a hero he was and how he came also got the sword and his many battles and how he defeated Genesis and Angeal. He may not of defeated Sephiroth but then again he did defeat some powerful enemies as well. I would put him more as a tragic hero because he died to save Cloud's life. He is some what similiar to cloud but yet their personality is what sets them apart. I could see Zack of easily becoming the hero of the FF 7 series if he had not died at the hands of the company that he had worked for.

Sephiroth- The bad ass villian himself from the FF7 series. If not for that incident that drove him insane i could see him being a hero instead of a villian. He started out as Shinras top soldier. Completing missions easily. Though he rarely opened up to people there were some people that he did like Zack, Angeal and Genesis. If that incident had not occured i think he would of gone down a different path but as far as being a vilian is concerned he was a bad ass villian.

Vincent- Who cant like this brooding man with a dark and sinister past who hangs onto to his past sins trying to do good. If he was not so popular I doubt that he would of gotten a game of his own. If only he wasn't just a optional character in FF7.

Squall- Gunblade ^_^. I think that is one of the coolest weapons in the FF world besides my other favorite swords, Masamune and the buster sword. He was a cool and likeable character.

These are just my opinions after all ^_^
 
*no doubt and no question about it, SEPIROTH is the one!!!! :D :D

*famous in all final fantasy realms and in the real world as well,you can ask anybody who knows final fantasy and Sepiroth would be the first one in mind :)


*or maybe Tifah, cause shes sooo hot and shes all over the hentai manga these days :D :D weeeeeeee :XD:

Ok here is my opinion on the top 10

1. Sephiroth - One Winged Angel

2. Cloud - Just because he is the main character in both a game and a movie

3. Aerith - She got killed by Sephiroth

4. Yuna - She has a lot of fans,

5. Tidus - He has a lot of fans

6. Vincent - He has his own game

7. Tifa - She has fans and a big role in Advent Children

8. Vivi - Most famous character in FFIX

9. Seymour - One of the most remembered villians after Sephiroth

10. Zack - He has quite a lot fans I think

By the way it took me 20 mins to think of what to post :lol:
 
I went ahead and asked 5 friends which 5 final fantasy characters came to mind, and here(answers added up and divided).

1. Sephiroth (all 5)
2. Cloud
3. Kefka
4. Gilgamesh
5. Vivi

I would include Genesis from FFVII: Crisis Core too, he's pretty badass.
This is my list (1st - 6th)

1st: Cloud/Tidus - They both take the cake
2nd: Auron - Strong, bad-ass character, gotta like him
3rd: Yuna - *shrugs* I like her better than Aerith (Yuna's pretty cute O_^)
4th: Genesis - I like him, I've always loved one-hand swords
5th: Yu Yevon - Although not as well known as Seph, I still like him just because he looks like a tick O.e
6th: Sephiroth - Always been a mini-fan of good ol' Seph

Well, here is my top 5 of who I think are the most famous FF characters...

1) Cloud (he's the protagonist of FF7 =D)
2) Sephiroth (he killed Aerith...)
3) Tifa (my favourite FF7 character, I always use her every chance I get)
4) Tidus (my favourite FFX character, also the protagonist)
5) Aerith (I will always remember you, Aerith...)
