I like Rinoa a lot she is and always has been one of my favorite heroines of FF, She was the perfect balance of everything, sure she was bossy and stuff like that but so was Quistis, and she was like that all the Time. I never really liked Quistis until the end of the Game when Irvine danced around her. That was cute^_^
 
I don't like either Quistis or Rinoa, but you can't really compare the two, sure they are both bossy but Quistis is military and she's much more badass then Rinoa, i remember when she turned Rambo in Dollet that was cool.

Rinoa on the other hand like i said in my first post against some fan of her, is a spoiled brat who as a nap time, totally sad she should have followed Aerith example and died, but noooo...
 
I, for one, loved Rinoa as a character. I find it absolutely unbelievable that the same people who love Aerith call her annoying... She is a strong willed, inteligent and intuitively manipulative woman, whereas Aerith never, at any point in the game, acted like she was older than 14.

I don't think she was badgering Squall out of some desperate desire for attention, I have always beleived she knew that his protective shell (magic pun not intended) could be broken down, and she knew how to do it. The only reason it didn't exactly work in-game is because FFVIII had some really, really shitty writing. Squall, as a main character, had less depth than minor characters from other games due to the almost bi-polar development he went through.

As for Rinoa's behavior to her father... I don't remember the plot that much anymore so all I'll say is she's hot, so we can get over it :monster:

Well said, if I do say so myself, people who hate Rinoa are usually people who wanted Squall to end up with Quistis, and their only reason for hating her is "Shes a spoiled Brat!" when she's NEVER-(The thing with her team-mate on The Forest Owels, was a joke like what friends do, stop taking stuff so literally > Rinoa-haters)-a spoiled brat, all she does is think about other people and their feelings, The spoiled one in that game is Selphie man she was mean! Rinoa was very good character, at least she wasn't one of those weird skanky girls....
 
I always liked Quistis more than Rinoa. She was more intelligent and reserved and I felt really bad for her that her feelings weren't returned. I thought she was really kind though, knowing that Rinoa was the one for Squall and being so nice about it. And even apologizing to Rinoa later. XP I thought Rinoa could get really annoying and bit childish, but she was still a nice person. She just was very emotional, lol.
 
I really liked Rinoa, she was the perfect person for Squall. He was so dis-trusting and reserved but she broke him away from all his thoughts and gave him something to care about. People moan about having to rescue her all the time but it wasnt something i found irratating at all, it made for some very random but also very interesting plot twists.
Shes a cheerfull upbeat character, her personality was needed to be the opposite of Squall, so that she could make him love.
 
I loved Rinoa in this game, she was always in my party(except for when shes in the coma). Beautiful and stong willed, shes my favorite character in this game

I dislike them both and she is a brat who as a nap time. How is Selphie spoiled!? She's on a sugar rush but spoiled!? They're are all top military people, Rinoa is the only civilian who is entitled as princess by her militia friends and who as a nap time at 17 years of age. I don't see how people can identify with that at all but hey it's a free world.:eek:uttahere:

Agreed.

Thanks to her well-roundedness, I always had her in my party whenever i could. Also for the strange tendency i have in always keeping the male and female protagonist together in the party...
 
Actually she is not Quistis limit breaks proof far more useful during the game then Rinoa limit breaks.

All final fantasy VIII characters are well rounded, it's not like each as strong points like in other final fantasy titles.

Guess I she always annoyed me so I never used her! Just seems too childish and illogical and she corrupted the "cool Squall" and turned him into "wuss Squall"! I mean that's 1 of the things that bugged me in this game: Rinoa IS good looking, but she's not worth jumping into outer space and risk destroying the world! Has mediocre limit breaks whose power relies solely on luck!
I had her in my party only when the story demanded and the first time I played I tried 2 kill her by sending her 2 the missile base...
She and Selphie annoyed me the most!
 

Hmmm, I'm not sure I like her but I don't hate her.
I think she's funny at times. And she definitely has some strong moves.
It makes me mad when people hate her for no reason.

But I'll give her some character love. She's cool :3

 
Well when I first saw Rinoa she was my favorite Final Fantasy VIII character right away because she was so well designed. Does anyone know why she was meant to be cute and not beautiful?
 
Given the technological advancements of that day, there was some fear that they would concentrate too much on making her too beautiful, so they toned her down so that the main focus would be on her personality over appearance. Doesn't work on me though, I like cute.
 
When I first saw her,I thought she was Tifa xD,that's why I liked her(only from the appearance).But then again she wasn't that special,I mean I don't really mind her most of the times not to mention that I can forget her too.She's an okay character,saving her becomes a pain in the butt,sometimes she can make me laugh wich a + to her but she didn't really cought my attention or impress me.
 
Yeah I like the way Rinoa is just fine but I would say she is cute and beautiful. When I first saw her in the game I looked closely at her And I said ''She's my favorite VIII character. Even though I always usually like the chicks in FF.
 
Well,I prefer Quistis over Rinoa.I won't start explaining the reasons since it's a thread about Rinoa only.
Just wanna say that I'd prefer her if she was a little more independent,it's not just looks that matter to make a character likeable to the fans.
