Training Grounds

[those miraculous appearances can always happen. so long as you have imagination]

There was no getting away from julius' attacks. before the attacks hit home, Lone Wolf summoned his magical barrier from his reserve MP that surrounded his entirely in a bubble. This only protected him from the force of the attacks.

The blows of Julius hit him hard and fast he could only hold his ground putting more magic into the barrier in a vain attempt to protect himself. There was one advantage though. Lone Wolf used the rest of his reserve MP to throw a wave of holy right back at Julius' wave of energy. This thankfully neutralised it saving Lone Wolf from a possible knock out

"You truly are good, but now it IS time this ended"

With his remaining strength, Lone Wolf charged at Julius. At the last possible second Lone Wolf jumped and flipped behind Julius taking him by complete surprise. With this Lone Wolf unleashed cataclysmic blows with his sword, powered up by his elements, Thunder and Holy.

At the end of what seemed like an endless amount of slashes of the sword, Lone Wolf glowed yellow and exploded from his body a blast of thunder followed soon by a wave of holy.

Lone Wolf was in quite a bit of discomfort and quite a bit of pain. Julius was powerful, there was no doubt of that. Lone Wolf's reserve MP had been fully used up, but luckily he still had a good chunk of his personal MP. The wave of holy had revitilised him slightly giving him some strength to battle further against Julius. There was no giving up now.

From within the explosive mass of energy Julius emerges, now his clothes were heavily damaged and most of his torso was exposed. His strong physique could be seen as this courteous warrior held tightly the hilt of his rapier. Julius rose his left hand and chanted a restorative spell to replenish some of the energy he had lost.

"Curare!!!!”

The spell summoned a bright holy light from the heavens falling upon Julius and restoring his life force up to three quarters of his energy. Julius then swung regained some of his vitality and took an defensive stance, the one he used mostly to counter incoming attacks. He placed the blade of his sword on his left forearm and held it like a shield, the surface of the blade facing Lone Wolf who could be seen reflected on Julius' sword. While keeping this same stance, Julius dashed forward.

Zeria was hit by several blows and flew back about 15 feet, hitting the ground harder than she would've liked. As she spoke in her weak yet angry voice, blood trickled past her lips and poured from wounds on her body.

"I carry all those things...because they are for protecting me and those I care for....once I trained endlessly with them, my skills improved. All morning....all night...I train. Nothing but working to surpass every limit I have..."

She struggled to her feet and glared demonicly, her eyes blazing to a crimson red.

"And now...you've broken the seal on the demon I've kept in check for so long...I hope you like pain...."

A mass of black, silver, and red flames burst forth around her and consumed her. An evil laughter could be heard, and as the flames opened to reveal her, all could be drawn into shock. She stood before Hudson, black tattoos covering her entire body, feathered black wings, and fangs bared as she grinned.

"I do hope Zeria warned you...I don't take it easy on fools who've harmed my host's body"

"I do hope Zeria warned you...I don't take it easy on fools who've harmed my host's body"

Another vagrant hero type with inner demons, literally. Just freaking great. Here he was, having a perfectly fine time getting stabbed and shot, and this demon her just has to come along and ruin things.

"I kinda' feel cheated ya' know! You never told that you had someone (or something) else working for you!"

He truly felt that he had been lied to. But perhaps this was a chance to to test himself? Perhaps this was another opportunity too move on to whole 'nother level of fighting? Perhaps this was an opportunity, to achieve but a million of the greatness, tiny fraction of the power that his great uncle, Macon Bright possesed. He wanted to be ever stronger, he wanted to be greater. This was one of those chances. He gritted his teeth, and gripped his blade as tightly as he could.

"I guess that we're kicking things up a notch now huh? Even better!"

Retorted Hudson as he paced, circling and eyeing his opponent. He was ready.

[oooh, showing off are we...two can play at that game xD. oh and btw, this is fun:)]

Lone Wolf looked at the massive beam of holy that shot down from the sky and wondered why the hell hadn't he had thought of that?

Lone Wolf cast the spell White Blast on himself. Not only did it revitilise him a good deal (three quarters), but it restored a little of his MP for some reason. That never happened when he used Holy on himself...result!

Lone Wolf's clothes were slightly ragged now. His right sleeve had been torn off completely. he hated it when that happened. His muscles rippled through showing a dangerous side to Lone Wolf. Thats what happened when you wandered and battled as much as he did.

Lone Wolf drew his blade and split them into two swords once again. He raised his right arm above his head and his left arm to the right of his torso. When Julius was near enough, Lone Wolf swung both of his swords outwords in the direction of Julius.

At the same time, Lone Wolf summoned beams of Holy directly behind and to the sides of Julius so that even if the sword attack missed. The holy beams certainly wouldn't. the best thing was, because the holy beams were summoned, the attack would only drain Lone Wolf's MP if the beams actually hit Julius

The Demon Zeria grinned.

"Zeria never was one to tell people things. Always keeping her secrets so no one could hurt her..."

She laughed and sighed, returning her gaze to Hudson and following his every moment. Then, she decided to wreck some havoc.

"BLAZING INFERNO!"

Massive waves of flame and rock burst forth from the ground around her in a geyser of blazing red and black. Then, she drew out her Hellfire Blade and charged at Hudson, the blazing inferno following. She ripped her blade in 13 slashes, then leapt backwards over the attack. It would serve as both an offense and a defense.

"I got somethin' for ya' that'll help clear that right up!"

And then he tried something that he'd never done before.

He dug in deep. So very deep within himself, taking hins inner energies, and concentrating them amogsnt themselves. He took 10 seconds worth of his wild energy and condensed it into 5. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead as slid his hand across the flat of his blade, oblivious of the onward rushing wall of flame and rock.

He re-centered his focus just in time to meet the oncoming attack head-on. It was surprisingly easy to parry her strikes, given the state of his blade. Her blade work was good, but it seemed that relying upon the demon even for as rare a situation as this threw off her swordsman- err woman- ship.

Not at all to say that he was better, but one tends to notice things about swinging swords after swinging them around for so long.

Regardless, Hudson was pleased with the preformance of his blade. Not only was it strong enough to take to blows without making him flinch, but the very blade itself seemed to dance upon the wind, he did it!

"Interesting... I've never tried that before ya' know."

Said he to what used to be Zeria.
Even more interesting was once again, the very fact that he didn't take a single step backward or forward! With a hop off of his left foot, he dove for the ground, after switching weight and momentum from his arms to his torso and abdomen to push himself up into an half-acrobatic flair. with a push off of his supporting hand into the air.

WIth a mighty twist of his hips, he managed to set himself through middair sideways, cutting through the tail-end of her attack. What he was trying to do was get through it, expending the least amount of energy and effort possible. This way just happened to be it. The slice that he had made through her attack wasn't done hard enough to dissipate it, but rather to cut through a small portion large enough for him to fit through with the wind sleeking off of his blade. He had aired in his calculation, as the cuff of his left pant leg was singed off.

"Hey! Ya' mind not tearing up our fighting grounds any more than we have to? I'd like to be able to fight on something!"

She laughed again.

"You don't get it, do you? I live to destroy things. Zeria's body is merely my host. But I must say, it is quite an honor for you to be given the chance to fight me. I haven't been released for 9 years....ah, but why share the memories, I'm supposed to be making you beg for mercy"

She performed the exact same attack again, but instead of just standing still behind the inferno, she charged up along with it, blades drawn. SHe was aiming for his legs this time. In order to immobilize him, that was the one thing she needed to take out.

"This game is over..."

Julius unleashed a powerful counter attack, deflecting Loen Wolf's right hand sword and dodging the left hand sword by mere inches. He saw how the rays of holy fell from above heading towards him and decided not to avoid the hits. It would be better to reflect them towards their caster, and it would require one of Julius's old book tricks to accomplish this task.

Julius stepped backwards while being followed by the rays of the holy spell. He landed a few feet away from the beams, giving him enough time to rise his left hand and summon his forth his magical power.

”This will surely guarantee you a direct hit, but it will also make sure to give you a taste of your own medicine! Here it is: Reflexus Scutum

An advanced non-elemental spell that allows its caster to summon a reflective wall to shield itself against enemy attacks. The magical shield will redirect 75% of the energy absorbed by the spell of one magical based attack back to an opponent. The other 25% of the magical energy that was absorbed by the Reflect Shield will deal light damage as a penalty to the one who summoned the shield.

As the beams landed on the shield, they were instantly absorbed and redirected to Lone Wolf, Julius endure some physical damage as a price to use the spell. While still having his shield summoned, he disabled the magical barrier and unleashed yet another one of his spells.

”Flamma”

This basic fire based spell that summoned forth multiple fireballs that spun around Julius like a ferocious tornado of flames. Julius eyes burned bright red, his sight remained fixed on Lone Wolf who was being attacked by his own redirected attack. Julius remained silently while he extended his left arm towards Lone Wolf. With a simple snap of his fingers, Julius sent countless fireballs spinning fearsomely towards Lone Wolf, the last fireball being the largest of them all.

"Dont you get it already...Don't you think i'd be immune to my own element?"

Lone Wolf eagerly watched and laughed as his beams of holy came flying back towards him. When they hit him, not only did it not hurt him, but it actually healed him.

"Not only have i slightly damaged you, but you've unwittingly healed ME"

As Lone Wolf looked up, he saw surging fireballs flying towards him. Lone Wolf immediately raised his swords and slashed at each fireball as they came in turn. As for the last fireball however, Lone Wolf was unable to forcefully destroy it with his swords and was sent soaring into the air.

Lone Wolf recovered by flipping in mid-air and using the momentum to gain balance and land safely. The fireball DID sting a lot though. It had taked a fair amount of HP from his, but that only neutralised some of the health that he had been aquired from the holy beams.

"My turn now"

Lone Wolf raised both of his hands which glowed a grim yellow. Lone Wolf's eyes had turned from a misty blue to pale yellow. With this lone wolf shot two massive balls of thunder at Julius. This was basically a double attack of his thunder cannon attack.

The two masses of electricity soared towards Julius. Lone Wolf turned away, because he knew what would happen next. He didn't see what had happened, but he certainly heard and felt it.

Lone Wolf heard a thunderous explosion along with a searing white light. He didn't knwo if he'd hit his target or not. He certainly hoped so, because it would inflict a good deal of damage.

True, Hudson was having a grand old time, regardless of his wounds. The partial adrenaline rush having to fight a bit harder than he usually had to, was starting to kick in, giving him more energy... and a heightened sense of things.

And of course, it wasn't every day that he got to have a one-on-one fight with a greater (or most likely more) demon on this plane.

"This game is over..."

"You should be the one to talk."

Said he, wagging his finger at the demon.

"Poor little, demon, so weak and pathetic, that it has to hide inside some poor girls body. That's strength? How about you and I duke it out fairly? Or are you so scared, you can't step outside of her body? Coward. If you're not going to come out of her body and let she and I finish our fight, then I guess..."

The hairs on the back of his neck were starting to rise. His heart rate increased slightly too. For the first time in a while, he was starting to get a little angry, regardless of the fact that a greater demon was charging towards him, riding the air with a roaring inferno in it's wake.

"Then I guess that i'll just have to beat you out of her!"

The energy that he'd been trying to build up in between their moments of sparse dialogue had been enough restore what juice he had in him alsmot up to full. He didn't like to waste a second of juice.

He moved the "tingle" as quickly as he could without incurring physical damage upon himself, condensing it thinly and cleanly into his legs.

Hudson's seasoned eyes picked up a part of her attack intention as he met her charge with one of his own.

He feinted quickly to her right with a low slow sliding hop before the were three feet apart before returing to meet her charge. He flew through the air with a strong hop off of his right foot, before using a quick stretch kick to propel himself forward through the air with a backwards spinning tuck, and punctuating the flip with a powerful axe kick.

Her attacks had connected with flying colors. Thanks to his ability however, the strikes did nothing more than cut his pants up a bit, and break the skin slightly. He blades hurt no more than a paper cut.

The wind from the axe-kick alone split the wave of inferno in twain, merely mildly burning bits and pieces of his flesh. Some of the backlash wind should've reached her, considering her proximity to the wave itself.

"Oh, and I gots a little present 'fer ya'"

Said Hudson as he let loose another energy bullet, this time at her exposed back as he he returned to the ground on a handstand. He righted himself instantly, and returned the assault, not wanting to lose the offensive as he dashed clockwise around her.

But perhaps he should have been using his head more?

"It seems that you have failed to see the purpose of my attack. Revealing your elemental alignment to your enemy is clearly a lamentable mistake. You see, every element has an elemental weakness. Fire rules over wind, wind rules over water, water rules over fire, earth rules over wind. Light and darkness oppose themselves equally. If an elemental spell gains the upper hand, the elemental energies will clearly rule over them Seeming that this field was changed to enhance the powers of darkness, holy-light based spells are significantly decreased setting the element of darkness above the element of light. Your holy spells know would have little effect if not none. This is a well learned lesson taught to me in the Academy of Archaic Magic. In fact, it was my brother who made me realize the importance of fundamental elemental weaknesses and strengths in battle. This is a lesson that I'll make you learn the hard way. ."

Julius mentioned while appearing from within the explosion that nearly hit him. He was grinning, his eyes showing that he indeed discovered a way to halt Lone Wolf's curative energies. Julius would attempt to use on of his brother's spells, one who would change the battlefield's elemental energies to darkness weakening holy based spells.

"Here's one of the spells that my brother enjoyed using against his foes:
Noctis Aeterna"

Julius rose his hands and quick shadows surrounded the area all around them. Clouds swallowed the heavens and lightnings filled the sky with thunderous roars. The sun was clouded and mostly hidden away, darkness was eating away the light. Julius summoned from within the shadows enveloping him
summons seven swords, similar to the one wielded by the summon “Archangelus”(The archangel’s main weapon is a beautifully crafted sword with a blade as pure and shiny as silver and a hilt coated with gold that has a small red orb attached to the end of the hilt), each of them with different elemental attribute aligned to either fire, water, ice, wind, earth, light or darkness. The summoned swords will spin fiercely surrounding and protecting its master like a furious tornado of elemental energies and will attack if the command is given.

"I call this spell:
Sanctuarium de illas Sphatas"

The spell-knight's presence was then made known, he was standing before Lone Wolf. Julius was surrounded by his magical swords hovering slowly around him as if the deadly weapons were waiting for Julius to tell them to rip apart his foe.

Demon Zeria took the blows hard and slammed into the ground as the inferno dissipated.

"Damn you, foolish mortal! You're beginning to be a pain! You think I want to share a body with someone?! I'd much rather have my own body, but no, I had to be reincarnated in this stupid girl!"

She stood up and started shaking badly. It was clear that Zeria was fighting for control back. Hudson was right. It wasn't fair for her to use the demon's power.
{Gimme back my body!}

"Damnit, Girl, shut up!"

Now all of her defenses were down. Zeria was doing this intentionally. If Hudson could at least wound her body severely enough, she might be able to take back control.

"...mercy?...well i still have THUNDER"

Lone Wolf used a portion of his magic and summoned a spherical shield around his body..this would at least protect him from a little OF THAT DARNED dark energy.

Lone Wolf's auro of white (holy) was beginning to fade, but the yellow (thunder) was sill there. Lone Wolf had given up hope almost, but there...out in the darkness of clouds he saw a mini thunderstorm approach.

Lone Wolf ran towards it's direction and raised his hands and the thunder storm slowly but surely veered towards him

"I was taught in my sacred temple of magic to control external elements that corresponded to my own elements. IN this case...thunder"

The thunder storm gave way and exploded in a burst of electricity towards Lone Wolf. The storm absorbed ino him and Lone Wolf had successfully harnessed it's power.

He was glowing a brilliant yellow now and his eyes shone golden. This signified immense powers of thunder in his body

"Now...fell my full power of thunder"

Lone Wolf now unleashed a move he rarely used...thunder purge. Julius had saw hi use this attack before, but not with the amount of power like this

The skies opened up to reveal more darkness and from it shot great bolts of electricity that slammed into the ground creating great explosions. The air itself crackled...

"THIS ENDS!"

"Yes indeed it ends now!"

Julius sidestepped as the thunder bolts passed next to him. The knight soon rose his left hand and almost instantly, the swords aligned to the elemental powers of light/thunder and earth hurled towards the thunder bolts. Both attacks got in contact in an explosive reaction tearing apart anything between them. Surprisingly, after the flames faded away, the swords were seen hovering in mid air and floating towards Julius once again.

-"I bet you are curious to know what happened. Simple, my Earth Blade nullified the effects of your attacks while my Thunder Blade absorbed them."-

Julius jumped and remained hovering in mid air as his swords spun around him. He fixed his eyes on a newly transformed Lone Wolf. Julius sighed, seeing that this battle was taking longer than expected so he decided that, he should take a defensive position in order to know more about Lone Wolf's elemental alignments.

-"I am growing bored of this endless battle, you know? How about showing me more of that miraculous power of yours..."-

"Damnit, Girl, shut up!"

The lively girl that Hudson had once knew and fought against was somewhere deep inside that demon. She was fighting as hard as she could to regain control of her own self.

He truly respected and absolutely admired her, for being as strong as she was. He had hoped to be that strong some day.

"Zeria. How bout' we get that pesky little demon out of you. Whaddya' say?"

The openings in her defenses as the demon fought to maintain dominance was a loud resounding yes.

Summonig his wild energy came easily and freely now, as did concentration. Hudson had never had a sparring partner that could help him become so much stronger in such a short amount of time!

"Really, i'm extremely grateful you Zeria. You've helped me bcome so much stronger, after just one fight. There aren't many people like that in the world. It makes you kinda' special. Especially to me..."

He solently slid his "wild" energy up to his arms and upper body. And began with a running charge, smacking the demon with an upwards haymaker. Hudson floowed suit, not letting up for a moment, pouring on the wild punches and kicks.

He only stopped to howl loudly. Because for one beautiful, gleaming moment, he was the king of beasts, master of the ferocious fist.

The demon screamed in agony.

"Pitiful fools! I will be back! And I will have control forever! This I swear...!"

All resemblances of the demon vanished and Zeria fell to the ground, blood pouring from multiple wounds on her body. For a moment, she smiled.

"Hudson...thank you. You've allowed me...to see that I shouldn't rely on Zay's power when in a tough situation"

She coughed up blood and collapsed to her knees. There was no way her body would handle much more. Anymore injuries would begin to cause internal damage...and most likely death...

Finally, the battle between Hudson and Zeria had died down, ending in a rather bloody defeat for Zeria. The nearby bounty hunter set the clipboard and pencil down on a nearby barrel before rushing over to her.

"One helluva fight," she commented, pulling Zeria's arm over her neck. "To the tent with you, my dear. I think we should have a strong enough potion or two for you. Hudson, you should probably come to the tent as well."

And with that, Shenorai slowly stood up, allowing herself to be a support for the red-headed warrior. The young woman aided her friend as she walked into the tent and laid her 'little sister' to rest upon one of the beds. A nearby nurse took care of her wounds, both internal and external.

"Thank you..."

Zeria rested, grateful for all of the help she'd been given. She looked over towards Hudson.

"Hey...Hudson....you're a great fighter. It was an honor to fight you...."

Then, she looked over towards Shenorai.

"Big sister, what other battles are going on? Are any of my comrades fighting? How are they doing?"

Shenorai gave a small smile at the inquiry.

"Of course, 'little sister'. The more interesting battle is with Lord Julius. He's going at it with one who calls himself 'Lone Wolf'. You weren't the only one who was having a rather flashy battle."

As the nurse tended to Zeria, Shen stood up and smiled down at her.

"Get some rest. You need it."

And with that, the woman in red ventured out of the tent again, in search for her clipboard. ...sadly, she accidentally set the clipboard on the edge of a water barrel, where it is now sunk.

"...damn."
