FF V.

Good so far. [:

Near two months later... Still playing FF V.

I'm about 10 hours in playing straight through without leveling. Just made the leap to Galuf's alternate world and was rescued from the moogle village.

Having difficulty with some of the boss characters & some of them are finishing my party with embarrassing ease.

My party is currently...

Lenna -- samurai (wield sword two handed)
Bart -- lancer (monk chakra healing)
Galuf -- red mage (wield sword two handed)
Faris -- summoner (monk chakra healing)

My first time playing through FFV.

Clueless as to whether or not that's a decent approach.

Replaying Dark Souls again at the moment...I skipped the sewers and Blighttown entirely, since neither of them are mandatory areas, and I have the Master Key. Damnit, NG+ is considerably trickier, if only because the bosses have more health. Killing Smough first for Ornstein's souls was a nightmare, because he has a ridiculously huge range and is much faster, and I am DREADING facing the Four Kings again...I need to soul grind a bit, I think.

Also started playing Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3...I love hack-and-slash games like this. Give me a Gundam, a few hundred enemy robots to destroy, and let me loose. It's highly concentrated fun, even if I don't know any of the characters...well, I know Lockon Stratos, who is available as DLC. I might buy him later on...

I've been playing Assassin's Creed lately. I wanted to get more Gamerscore points, and I know at least 500 of the points are left from AC, so I decided why not play it: it's a fun game, and I love to kill people for no reason.

On Co-op as usual
I'm having lots of fun with it so far, it's more enjoyable than Fear 3, and the controls are easier once I got the hang of it. Hopefully it is a longer game than the last one I played.

I'm finding it a bit scary however, my aim is shit so I am constantly missing the bad guys - who look disgusting btw.

The graphics are really nice and I like the cut scene cartoon clip things. The guns are really cool too Electricity one is my favourite, it's cool that they have special secondary ammo.

I'm playing on hard mode with Big Casino. He is much better at it than I am but he has died many more times than I /smug.

Co-oping with a friend of mine (though split-screen on a TV that size wasn't exactly intuitive) on Gears of War 3's campaign using his Xbox 360, and this was actually the first time I've properly used a 360 controller, believe it or not.

I basically just followed him around as often as I could. He practically had a photographic memory of the entire campaign already, roughly knowing where every enemy and box of ammunition were. I spent a lot more time taking cover than I do at directly blasting tickers and Locusts in the face because I acknowledge that my aiming is utterly shite and that I didn't want to be too much of a liability to my partner.

Unfortunately, I was taken out by snipers several times on that Centennial Bridge level place despite his frantic calls of "Don't just sit there! Sniper coming at you!" while he was maiming everything with a Retro Lancer. Snipers scared the shit out of me actually. Still, we did alright. We got from where that Cole guy started being really trippy up to the bit where they throw the caged tickers straight onto the Leviathan creature thing.

What do I think of the game? It's actually alright, though not very fun on the online bits we tried out because the enemy totally wiped the floor with the pair of us despite all the respawning chances we had. The bit of the campaign we went through was very decent, though nothing groundbreaking. The banter between the characters was sufficient, though not on the level of another franchise like the Uncharted games.

And speaking of the Uncharted games, I'm preeeetty sure that Sam is voiced by Claudia Black, hence why I said "Chloe Frazer? What are you doing in this game?" to which the guy I was playing with said in return: "I do know someone called Chloe Frazer, but I'm sure that's not who you're thinking of".

Resonance of Fate | Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I'm mainly going through Deus Ex now for the trophies but I actually LOVED the game so, so much especially the relationship between Adam and Megan Reed. I find it refreshing to have the choice choosing whether to stealth it or fight and that they can both be equally as effective. I do much enjoy the parts you have to try and persuade/negotiate withe certain people.

In regards to Resonance of Fate I've not really done enough to warrant a decent opinion but it seems good enough, I really just wanted a game that would last me a while whilst I'm bored

I am currently playing Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. I am on chapter seven, and I am going to go further tomorrow. I thought seven chapters was enough for now, because I do not want to play the game in one go. XD I have more kills than deaths online by quite a lot. The online is so much better than it was in the beta and Uncharted II. I know this game will not disappoint me in any way, because it really is great so far. Already am using Elena Fisher.. even though I have not met her in the campaign yet. It is what it is... Elena > Chloe. All the gun effects are refined from the beta, and my god the game certainly is real. I also noticed that the sniper has laser sight now like in campaign. Much more easy to use than in the beta.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

I was bangers and mashed on Saturday night at a Halloween party, and got to talking to a friend about old games. When I got home the next day I left myself a note and went to sleep for a few eternities, when I woke up I saw my note. Downloaded it on my PSP and have been enjoying it since. It is much harder than most games I have played on bee eds dree and bee eds doo, but very enjoyable. I do not recall finishing it as a pup, so I am looking forward to beating it this time

I've been playing through a number of games recently.

Kotor 2:
I've been playing this slowly for a few months (since finishing Uni). I'm really enjoying it, actually. Despite the number of glitches, it's well written and (on the whole) well-made. The battle system is a little flat, but that means I can be laid back whilst playing it.

Final Fantasy XIII:
I'm taking a short break from it now, I think, but I am going to try and finish this before XIII-2 comes out. I'm halfway through Chapter 11 and have been palying for almost 40 hours. Every battle is relatively easy, though, so methinks I have spent more time grinding than is necessary. I have been building up Crystal Points but have nothing left to spend them on.

Final Fantasy VI:
This is certainly one of the best FFs I've played, and the best I have played in 2D. So far, the story is incredibly good and the selection of characters, whilst a little confusing at first, is rather promising. They all seem unique and reasonably fleshed out.

Uncharted 3:
Incredible so far and a new experience for me. I love the script, the gameplay and the overall design. Impressive!

Skies of Arcadia:
I have had this game for years but have never picked it up. It's pretty good so far.

I will also be dipping into Bioshock and then, in 5 days, Skyrim.

Final Fantasy XIII:
I'm taking a short break from it now, I think, but I am going to try and finish this before XIII-2 comes out. I'm halfway through Chapter 11 and have been palying for almost 40 hours. This is about exactly where I'm at, minus a few Crystogen Points I found this nice place to grind up to get everyone to level 4 in their main roles where I run through a get about 18k CP, die on the optional boss, the Juggernaut (who is guarding a waypoint for teleportation ), then do the same thing on the way back with the enemies respawned so I end up with about 32-36k CP to level things up. I don't think I'll work on their secondary roles at all, because they're pretty much CP hogs (although there are considerably less nodes) and I kind of want to get through the rest of the game. Spent about 4 hours doing this yesterday, and I didn't get bored (surprisingly), so I'll continue again today. I get Skyrim next week as well, and I'm hoping to rent out the first Uncharted game on Thursday or Friday to play over the weekend while I wait for Skyrim to come in the mail.

BF3

I'm still on the fence about this game...I like it enough I guess...but it's really not quite what I expected it to be. When I initially got it I did the online mulitiplayer with a few of the other members here...and we've been playing together periodically but I still don't feel like I'm improving that much with it The fighter plane controls are so awkward and there's no option that I can find to be able to try and get the controls down and practice fly it. Its the same thing with the helicopters. So that instantly limits me to being on foot...or in a tank during the game...which isn't much fun. I also hate how I can die so quickly by enemies I don't even see. This game is much more sensitive with how easily you can die compared to Black Ops.

...so I started the actual campaign part of the game yesterday and I'm on the second mission. Hopefully at some point they will let you try flying the planes and helicopters so I can get used to flying to be able to not instantly die trying like I do when I play the multiplayer. Ohhh gosh is that embarrassing I might go back to it today. I'm trying to stay optimistic about it and I hope I'll just start picking it up like I did Black Ops.

Lolz, far too much:

Still playing Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, trying to unlock everything. Just playing this every now and then, when I feel like blowing shit up. My main game at the moment is Disgaea 4, which I am presently grinding in...nice to see that enemy levels make jumps that mean you can't just blitz straight through it; I've had to do a couple of item worlds now and I'm still only on the second chapter. I've got a file on LEGO Harry Potter which I really should play some more...and I just started Skyrim earlier, as a Dark Elf. Much as I'd love to play as a pure mage, I always find that I get too cocky and REALLY screw myself over (this happened in Dark Souls) so I'm going with a Spellsword, because that way I get to satisfy my desires to incinerate people and chop them into bloody pieces.

...oh, and I started a new file on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team the other day, because I am REALLY in the mood for a Pokemon game. The adventures of Shulk the Torchic and Reyn the Mudkip begin!

Because Skyrim didn't arrive in the post today I have just started Bioshock! It's pretty good so far! Fantastic environment and lots of interesting concepts. I've been meaning to play this for a while, so I'll be playing this alongside Skyrim after tomorrow. I am still playing Final Fantasy VI too when I want a break from the TV in my room, and need to finish KotoR2!

Skyrim

I put this in last night after a very long session of blops with another member here

First thing I did was make my character. I really did have a hard time deciding what race to go for though. I knew I was going to stick with something human...the cat/lizard/elf people just aren't my thang

So I ended up going for the Imperial race. I named my character Stella, go figure I got one of the missions done and so far I really like the game. The beginning was irritating, I was like htfu I just want to slash things with a sword and not hear all of this dialogue already ...and things started moving along quite quickly after that point. The world is pretty big and detailed so far...and I haven't had any problems with enemies that I can't beat on my own...yet. I just make sure I save often Its a really fun game and I like it so far.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Been playing this every day for most of the time I have since it arrived Saturday morning I'm a dark elf that specializes in archery, lockpicking, sneaking, light armor, and sometimes pickpocketing It's an amazing game It feels more like Morrowind and less like Oblivion, which I think is really great. I finally went to all the cities/holds in Skyrim and have decided I'd like to buy the house in Riften. But I still have to do a few things before that Gotta help out the towns people and become the Thane There's so much more to do in Skyrim than Oblivion. The Ayleid ruins in Oblivion were fun sometimes, but there wasn't much of a reward to doing them besides maybe getting a Varla stone at the end and looting some of the bandits hiding around inside. The Nord ruins, on the other hand, get me words for Dragon Shouts Dragons These are so much more fun than Oblivion gates Oblivion gates were long and boring, while Dragon fights are fast paced and fun I finally got to see one crash down on the ground, and it left a big runway path in the dirt So far I've got about 30 hours on it, and I've barely gotten anywhere in the main quest or any of the guilds, which I think is a plus It means I'll be playing this for a while Usually I beat games in a matter of days, Skyrim will last me much longer than that, plus I'll probably always come back to explore after I've exhausted too many hours into it

Uncharted 2

It is incredibly addictive so I am trying to power through the storyline before getting back to university work. I have just gotten to the secret city and have two chapters left I think, some parts were a bit tricky. Most of it wasn't too bad though, but challenging enough not to be a cakewalk. The only part I am shit at is finding treasures, I have only found 30 or so. I think I was mainly motivated to burn through it so quickly due to the Chloe and Nathan sub-plot

Man, you make me so envious, I remember when I was a student with so many free time, I could dive in this kind of huge video game !

Now I work from 9 to 18 and even if I'd put all my free time in this, I'd still be a casual gamer lol

I am going to be Playing Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, and Uncharted 3. Halo CEA Anniversary is bringing a lot of memories. The new classic multiplayer maps are absolutely ace. Breakneck, the remake of Headlong has to be my favourite map. Headlong was my favourite halo 2 map, and it brings lots of good times back. The default maps can go to hell. I am always going to play the new maps, as this is the Halo I always loved. The campaign is what brings the most nostalgia though. It is so well remade, and I remember where I am going just like 10 years ago.

UIncharted 3 is still really awesome. Playing with a few FFF'ers on the multiplayer.
