[V2] Last Movie You've Seen

Thor.
The most interesting thing about this movie is that Stringer Bell, West Baltimore drug Kingpin was in it. That wasn't the interesting thing. The interesting thing was something my friend told me. He told it really annoyed White Supremacists/Neo-Nazis. This is because those bald headed pricks are very stupid, and they venerate the Norse gods, I don't know why either. Perhaps it was because all the other potential religions ruled themselves out, Jesus was Jewish, Islam is full of black people, and Greek gods often had sex with little boys. Maybe Norse Gods used to kick the shit out of black people too, who knows. Anyway they were annoyed because one of the Norse gods in the movie was black, and this outraged them, now they will have only Hitler to worship.
The movie was very stupid, you knew what was going to happen the whole time, Natalie Portman is very hot though.

American Werewolf in London.

Enjoyable movie. A little slow at first and I didn't quite buy the love story. But once the guy transformed I really enjoyed it. I was glad that they didn't cop out in the ending by having the girl use the power of love to heal him.

l'll say basically what I said in the Thor thread. XD

OMG I loved this movie! I hired it out tonight and was very pleased with it!!!

I thought it was just awesome that they used Chris Hemsworth. :ryan: He was so nice to look at the entire time! :ohoho:

I love Natalie Portman as well. She always seems to play her roles just right. She never annoys me thankfully. XD

I waited until the end of the movie just to see if they had any extra bits to show and OMG they did! When the movie ended I thought that there must be a sequel, so I waited until the credits finished and saw a sort of preview to what's happening in the second movie.

I hope they weren't just teasing us with that because I want to see Chris Hemsworth's bare chest again!!! :gonk:

Breaking Dawn in the cinema.

I really wasn't sure whether this movie would be good or not. I had no idea how they'd transfer certain scenes from the book onto the screen, but the director/s did an absolutely fantastic job! The major scene
when Edward cuts the baby vampire out of Bella's stomach with his teeth
included many head shots of Bella, her screams, fuzzy images of a panic-stricken Jacob, a frantic Edward, blood, worried voices, shouts, cries, tearful eyes... :lew: For once, montages actually felt important to the overall plot and feel of the movie!

The acting was good. Robert Pattinson plays Edward well - he's meant to be slightly wooden - and Kristen Stewart has certainly grown into the role of Bella! As always, the actor who plays Charlie was fantastic; his line delivery and body language is hilarious and the best in the series.

Plot-wise, it was well paced. Pretty much any summary would include spoilers, so I'll just say that... :hmmm:

One thing I had to roll my eyes at though... Edward and Bella naked. A lot. For a 12, this film was rather graphic. :lew:

Twilight Eclipse

I'm not a great Twilight fan, but I did love this film as there were good action scenes and the mutual love for Bella brings that hatred towards each other as ed and jacob. There's some funny parts though you feel sometimes there's some unneccessary long parts, and Bella's a slag. Great film though, 9/10

in time

i was nicely surprised by it. i was expecting a pretty bog-standard thriller with some pretty faces thrown in to make up for a lack of story, but the concept of it was really well put together. at times it got confusing because they redefined a lot of terms like time zones and time keepers, but you can forgive them. vincent kartheiser and cilian murphy were both as excellent as i'd hoped, though i think justin timberlake was a little wooden.

i'd happily see non-continuous sequels in the same universe, because the idea of getting paid in time rather than currency is too good to waste.

This movie was very trippy.

I loved the action sequences! It was simply awesome!

I was confused at the start how she looks like she's in a mental institution and then all of a sudden it changes and she's now in a brothel or whatever it was.

Then at the end it changes back to an institution. :hmmm:

I'd have to watch it again to fully understand everything that went on, but for the most part I got what was going on.

I can't believe people at my work thought this was crap. Though those are the sort of people who thought Bridesmaids was funny.

Trainspotting

This is not a very happy film, but it is a very good one. It's about a group of heroin addicts and their stories, through the eyes of Renton played by Ewan MacGregor. I am not really sure what else to say about it. It was very interesting seeing how they all dealt with addiction, and where it lead them. As well as how they interacted with each other, Begbie was particularly interesting. It had an open ending which was quite well done

I love Jason Statham!

He was so awesome in this movie! The only movie I hate him in is The Bank Job. He was such a manwhore in that movie.

Anyway, the action scenes were awesome and I love the whole storyline. Very intriguing and never got boring!

Warrior

2 MMA fighters enters a tournament, they share their past.
Its a very predictable movie, but the mma fights are very good, not like other mma-films where its all hollywood, but WARRIOR has some real nice fights.

6½/10
I would recommend FIGHTER instead

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly.

It's one of those classics that you've always known about, and everyone in the world pretty much knows the theme tune off by heart, even if they do not realise it. When people think about the wild west and outlaws it wouldn't be very long before people whistle the tune, or perhaps even scream it "ah-a-a-a-aahhh, wwo-wow-wow" etc.

Yet despite all of that I knew very little about the plot or the characters of the film. I was very impressed. I've not seen enough western movies to really compare, but I felt that this one was very well put together. All three characters (who represent the good, the bad and the ugly) were very well played, and it was interesting to see how they all linked in together at different points in the film, forming partnerships they'd rather not form. I think my favourite character was probably the Mexican (or Hispanic nonetheless - I forget where he came from) guy Tuco, who represented The Ugly. He was very greedy and was flustered and panicked throughout the film (unlike the calmness of Clint Eastwood's character - The Good, Blondie), but you could empathise with Tuco too.

Anyway it was a very good film, I thought. The quick-draw scene was very exciting and dramatic. The music complimented this also. Not just the theme tune that we all know, but the other tracks too which are all good.

10/10.

I also saw The Crow recently.

I also felt that this was a fantastic film. It is, however, tragic. Brandon Lee was the starring role (The Crow / Eric Draven) playing a guy who gets murdered by a gang, has his soul brought back to him by a crow, then goes out as an immortal Kiss-like rockstar for revenge. His acting style in this was very similar to how Heath Ledger played the Joker in The Dark Knight (another tragic performance, as most people know of Ledger's death). It was a great performance I felt.

Brandon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee, hadn't been in that many films. I think this film was probably going to break him into films (before I think he'd only done B-movie kung-fu stuff and a few minor things). Unfortunately he was shot and killed for real during the production when a bullet was left in the barrel of a gun that was meant to be blank. It was a scene from the beginning of the film that they'd left until last to film, and it was ironically the scene in which he gets murdered. It was quite traumatic for all the actors and crew involved in that scene, as can be expected.

Despite that, the film is very good. It's a shame there was a real-life death involved, but it shows that accidents can happen.

OMG this was awesome!

Cameron Diaz did an outstanding job in this!

I love how blunt her character is! It was so funny the entire time and I can't wait until I have moneys so that I can buy it on DVD!

Fantastic stuff!

Oh and Jason Segel is in this too. :ryan: I would so want to be married to him if I was single. XD

Wheels On Meals

A Jackie Chan film, and judging by the title you would not suspect this film to have one of his greatest fight scenes ever. The comedy's good, and as with classic Chan style, his kung fu brothers Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung also appear majorly as well as the girl who was in The Armour Of God, this time playing as a thief acting as a proz. I won't spoil the film but this should be an unmissable film for you, even if you're not a fan as a later scene against Benny the Jet defies all proper choreography and makes you go 'aahhh'. Brilliant film 10/10.

Tangled.

I decided to buy the DVD just before work today 'cause, finally, it was only £5! :awesome: I had seen it in the cinema with Chris, who really doesn't like Disney...so I ended up feeling a bit embarrassed throughout it. I knew what he was thinking so saw it partly from his perspective and didn't fully enjoy it. :/ However, watching this alone, I loved it so much! The animation is fantastic and the story is incredibly beautiful. The dialogue is well-written and funny, but at times, it's absolutely heartbreaking.

I love it when movies bring tears to my eyes. :) For me, that's the mark of an excellent movie.

Properly seen? It would have to be Despicable Me because I actually sat and watched that the whole way through with my 6 year old cousin before she passed out on her bed upstairs. Lol. It was a while back ... like two months ago or so probably but I still remember how much it touched me. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet but basically it's about a thief who is kind of losing steam and ends up coming into direct competition with another upcoming thief who's also much younger. Long story short this thief played by Steve Carrel pretends to adopt three little girls who live in an orphanage and train them to be his little spies. It's an adorable film, perfect for children around my cousin's age. It had a lot of touching moments and the animation as expected from Pixar Studios was breathtakingly gorgeous. I mean the colors were bright and showy and grandiose but used sparingly so as not to give you an eyesore. There were also wonderful contrasts between lighter shades and darker hues (i.e: the main character's lair for instance versus his rival's bright white and orange themed lair). The script was beautifully written, very heartfelt, wonderful little comedic bits sprinkled in between, and it was just an addictive film. I was glued to the screen so even though it wasn't the most recent film I saw per se, it was the most recent one I saw that affected me and really touched me; which is exceptionally rare for a lot of animated movies I do see.

10/10

Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treder

I will admit, this one wasn't as good as the second one and no way near as good as the first, but it wasn't that bad. The soundtrack was great as always, and the acting was top-notch. The annoying cousin grew on me. :lew:

Tangled

I watched this with my old grandparents, and my grandad laughed so hard he had to lay down. It's a beautiful story, with lashings of humour and romance. You can't help but laugh at the fact of the frying pan being a deadly weapon. If you haven't seen this film, whatcha doing lazing on yo ass? Watch it, it's an unregrettable movie with the best name for a horse that thinks he's a dog.

PS: I of course, #ahem# didn't cry; I'm too butch for that :humph:
