FFXII is the worst FF made

I personally loved the end of the boss battles. do do do do do do do do.
CONGRATULATIONS!

or

YOU HAVE OBTAIND THE ESPER
....... that was pretty awsome in my thaoughts
and i did like the choose you own battles aspect

I think that in the end it's your own personal opinion whether or not you like FFXII but theres no need to call it crap just because you don't like it.

personally i thought it was great, turn based are good but they can get so damn annoying when your trying to get to 1 place to another and a battle pops up out of no were. Then you have to wait yonks for the battle to end and theres always that end sequence were your party throws their weapon up in the air or something like that i mean i like that but i am glad they changed it so it only happens when you defeat a certain enemy.

in conclusion people change times change and games change for better or worse it's the fans choice personally i think it was for the better.:D

your right, FFXII isnt crap just because you dont like the battle system. thats like saying FFVII is crap because Vincents robe thing was red... just an example

Personally I perfer the battle system they used in all the other final fantasys, a real time battling system loses the feel of the RPG. I also think you can be more tactical with the old system, although the gambit system is pretty fun once you get used to it.

@ Dark_Odin

Actually I realized how much more strategic this game began when I started my own solo file, though I don't think its because I was solo I think solo just made it a bit harder. I think what makes it more strategic is the fact that I am not using Gambits and Quickenings. I remember when I first played the game Quickenings made the first few boss fights brain dead. All you had to do was get them to half HP and perform a big quickening on um. I had to work with many different weapon classes for almost every boss fight I engaged in with Penelo.

I find it that when you play this game with one character you have to resort to many things in battle. I never liked Gambits from the start since it reprisents what I hate about games today. People don't want to do things themselves anymore they expect it all to be handed to them. Theres hardly anymore skill left in gaming these days compared to the old days. It's why I stick to fighters most of the time now since I get a challenge out of my opponents.

Also, FF games aren't really challenging or that strategic, I've never had a difficult time against any FF boss unless I decided to play that game with limits.

I thought the battles were fun, but the story >.<
No one but Ashe really changed, not even Vaan. I thought that's where it fell apart(crap).

Yeah FF12 rocks i love it and I'm only a little way through i can't wait to finish it, the battle system is really interesting and its good to have change :D

FF12 is one of my favorite final fansty game .The battle system is pretty cool ,the story is good ,the charcters are cool.

yeah I liked the licences system

Probably not the best, but definitly it deserves the name. I read some of the initial posts and some of them were refering VIII as one of worst. It´s weird since i love FFXII because it reminds me of FFVIII. The FFXII world is so well created that you can compare it to Lord of the Rings in complexity (if you read the books you'll know what i´m talking about). The cities, all the lands are created with so many love by it´s makers that only for that it deserves our respect. Maybe the original creators are no longer there but their legacy was left in good hands. Not only the scenario, the NPCs are also amazing. If you pause your character and look aroud you´ll witness a living world aroud you. And it´s amazing how they managed to do it in a PS2. The cutscenes are compared to MGS or other games unlike FFX and X-2, after all it was used captured movements. Battle system is great. Even if you use gambits you´ll have a better time than other FFs. And the quests are much more interesting than the fight a lot and defeat the dark aeons. It´s one of the best but this is my opinion. Our preferences on games always depend on which literature, movies and types of games we read, watched and played along our life. We can never discuss our tastes, only give our opinion.

I think XII is one of the best, it may have its flaws but its great nevertheless.

I Finnaly Bought a copy of X a couple of days ago, got up to the first blitzball match got bored and started my second file on twelve, which I reckon is definatley a lot more enjoyable second time round.

Its a great game but it has flaws. The storyline is relatively poor which i dont think was helped by the lack of a real main character. There was also little character building and you rarely get to really feel like you know any of the characters. The music was poor as well, it didnt really cut it for me, especially when theres a video and your characters are chatting about some impending problem and all you can here is the cheerful old field music in the background. Whats that about? is it lazyness?
The gameplay is pretty outstanding, though anoying features like traps and randomised treasures just make the experience a little frustrating.
So yeah i agree that this is probably the worst FF ever. Thats not to say its a bad game.

Well I think that a real Final Fantasy fan will be the ones to stand up and say..."yeah, this game lacked that spark I know and love and for that reason it is my worst, or I simply don't play it." Being a loyal fan to the series I was harshly dissapointed with this game, storywise. The gameplay and other features were nice (the License Board and Mist attacks weren't spectacular new additions), the real-time/turn-based system was very much welcomed and generally it did have nice ideas (such as the hunts, monster designs, allies on the battlefield, to name some of the top of my head); however the story made everything else redundant. The story was good at first and I love the FMV's and cut-scenes, however, that's all dead now and I can see that the story is just NOT final Fantasy at all. How you could come to the conclusion that X was worse than XII is beyond me, but I find myself struggling to play XII and to me, as a strong and passionate FF fan, that is extremely depressing. XIII can't come soon enough; and please don't let me down. Now just because I don't really play it, and I think it's the worst is not to say I'm not a fan; it's to say that SE need to learn from this and produce a better FF experience for there fans.

Irvine what are you talking about? D: The leading man is Baltheir we all know that :P

I thought the music fit the games mid-eastern theme and dungeons. It wasn't the usual Nobuo stuff that we're used to hearing (heck its not even Nobuo's music). But there are some dungeon themes that I like in this game (I whistle them when playing FFXII by myself <.<)...

lol that reminds me of the time I was playing with my friend at his house and I ended up just dawdling around in the lowtown just because of the music :P eventually he wrestled me for the controller and took us out of there. I really think the music was great, it wasn't laziness because even though some of the music is stuff that was used in previous games it still fit whatever area it was in, so that felt fine to me.

Hmmm...A'yo, honestly, I have to be real with you guys and say FF12 was one of the worse FF I have ever played. Compared to the other FF's FF12 gameplay was good. The battle system was ok as well. Most of the characters were cool. But here is where it REALLY killed it. The storyline. The storyline was so bad, FF9 is better. I mean, having flashy graphics is one thing but actually having a good storyline is a whole other thing. FF12 sucked in the storyline department. Hell, I would rather play Suikoden over FF12 just for a better story. And, if I recall, in the Suikoden series, the main characters doesn't even talk. I think we should be worried people. If FF13 is as bad as FF12, we probably will experience the full of an empire. And I'm not talkin' 'bout Dynasty Warriors, which I would also play before FF12. Pathetic isn't it? And I call myself an FF Fan...:P

I don't get how the story is so bad. When people say that it makes me wondering if they even payed attention.

Its there, its not complex, it makes sense, so how is the plot in XII so bad compared to the other games?

If anything it kind of reminds me of FFIV, but I don't wanna get into details as of to why.

ff12 misses out on one aspect of final fantasy which exists in all the others and that is a love story between two characters
